TEKKEN 8 Graphics Enhancement Guide - Step by Step Tutorial for PC Players
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 июл 2024
- This video is to help users maximise graphics quality in Tekken 8, NOT to improve framerates. There are two parts to this video:
Step 1 involves changing the actual game settings to disable excessive postprocessing effects and improve the clarity of the image.
Steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 involve making tweaks to optimise the presentation of DLSS/FSR/TSR upscaling, which players are forced to use in Tekken 8.
Steps 3 onwards are targeted towards users with Nvidia graphics cards who are able to use DLSS. However, all other users may benefit from some of the points discussed in Step 5 :)
SETTINGS TO COPY PASTE SHOWN IN STEP 1:
[SystemSettings]
r.BloomQuality=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=4
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0.30
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=2
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
r.AmbientOcclusion.Method=1
r.LensFlareQuality=2
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=2
r.DepthOfField.MaxSize=100
I also made a mistake when I claimed that the default for MotionBlurQuality in Tekken 8 is 3. Tekken 8 actually does not allow you to enable motion blur at all anymore in the game menus, so the default, I guess, would actually be 0. Enabling it in Engine.ini is the only way to get it back now.
Thanks for watching and I hope this video helps.

This works exactly the same on the full game. The only difference is that any folders or files called "Tekken 8 Demo" are now just "Tekken 8".
For people interested in disabling the upscaling or increasing the frame rate above 60fps, I recommend the TekkenOverlay tool, which just got updated to include both features in a menu that is easy to use. Be aware that increasing the fps above 60 using this tool may negatively affect the online experience in ways that could be mistaken for being the fault of the netcode e.g. stuttering. IMO it is better to use Lossless Scaling frame generation to get 120fps for this reason.
Happy Tekken 8ing!
How do you use lossless scaling frame gen in t8 ? completely new to all that tech . Ty for everything
You need to buy an app called Lossless Scaling on Steam for $7 USD. Steps to make it work on Tekken 8 are:
1. Change your monitor's refresh rate to 120hz, it shouldn't be any higher or else the frame generation doesn't work properly
2. Open lossless scaling and set Frame Generation to "LSFG". Also enable "Draw FPS" in the rendering settings to make sure frame gen is working when we try it
3. Open Tekken 8. Fullscreen mode works fine for me, but if you're having issues you may need to set it to Borderless instead.
4. Go back to Lossless Scaling, click the "Scale" button, and you have 5 seconds to go back to the Tekken 8 window and let Lossless Scaling hook onto it (you can also set up a keybind like ctrl+alt+s to hit when you're in the Tekken window)
5. Frame generation should be working and the FPS counter in the top left should be showing 120fps (Tekken and other apps like MSI Afterburner will still only show 60fps)
To reduce the input latency added by frame gen, you can also download the latest beta version of RivaTuner to cap Tekken 8's frame rate to 60fps, and change the frame rate capping mode from RivaTuner's default "async" to "Nvidia Reflex", which lets you add NVIDIA Reflex to any DX11 or 12 game.
Lossless scaling works on all games and on all programs on Windows that you view through a window (e.g. I'm using it to watch the Tekken World Tour finals on Twitch at 120hz right now). You just need to make sure the frame rate of your game is locked to exactly half the refresh rate of your monitor, or change your monitor's refresh rate to be double the game's frame rate.
I didn't expect it to look very good but the results look very nice to my eyes. Ghosting and artifacting is not very noticeable when you're using the app on Tekken 8. In other games it can be a bigger issue.
What happens if Bamco updates the graphics in the future as they did in Tekken 7? How does it affect the engine.ini tweaks?
Hey Rodeo, since you seem to know a bit about UE settings, it would be cool to see a guide like this for "Palworld". The problem with Palworld is that there seems to be absolute terrible pop-in of object details & LOD assets. I want to know how to increase the range at which objects & LODs pop in, so that it looks better.
INSTALLING latets dlss makes the dlss option disaapear in game
My game looks so much better now. Thank you for your hard work!
This is brilliant man !! absolutely one of the best tutorial I ever watched , I learned a lot and Tekken never looked better , Thanks man .
Thanks so much for the video! it helped alot! the game looks way more crip and feels extra clean as well while playing. Saving this video for sure when the full game is out!
Did everything step by step made a huge difference, toned the blur to .15 for competitive play. Great tutorial thanks!
you are the best, didnt even need that reshade tip, only the dlss one and the engine ini thing, god bless you. I had no problem playing it vanilla but turning the bloom, blur off and making the dlss upgrade makes the game look so much better.
Big big thanks!
I only took the motion blur for now, this game looks so much smoother with it ON
Thanks for the video! There's also a guide on steam which suggests using the following settings:
[SystemSettings]
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.AmbientOcclusionLevels=4
r.SSR.Quality=4
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1

r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.01
r.Shadow.SpotLightTransitionScale=512
r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=16
r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=8192
FX.MaxCPUParticlesPerEmitter=10
FX.MaxGPUParticlesSpawnedPerFrame=5
fx.MaxNiagaraCPUParticlesPerEmitter=10

I'm guessing the main difference is that the guide turns motion blur off?
Godlike man. Thank you so much from the top of my heart. Now the game looks great and runs at 60fps. Imma pray to the Elder Gods for your long lasting happines my man!!! Cheers!!!!!
I wanna say thanks brother. you have fixed my stutters and it was stressing me because i am above recommended specs
Extremely useful.
Hi man.. that's an amazing tutorial.. i've learned so much man i used that knowledge to make other mods woooow you are genius am a subscriber already thanks again Tekken looks amazing and not only Tekken 8 but...Tekken 7 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Subscribed just to see if there's an update to this on full release. Oh and thank you.
its crazy how the motion blur alone makes the game feel so much more fluid and smooth. thank god I'm on PC
This is the best video tutorial for improving the visuals of Tekken 8 thanks to the PC platform. Per object motion blur look so good in this game ! They should bring it back on the console version like in Tekken 6 and Tag 2 !
Just increase the motion blur it looks as glorious as it did back then.
@@eli.k9190 The motion blur option got removed in the demo. You have to follow the steps from this video to bring it back.
hope you'll make a vid like this once the game comes out! nice vid dude!
Everything in this video works for all Unreal Engine 5 games, so it should work for the full release, only the folders I show called TEKKEN 8 DEMO in this video will be called TEKKEN 8 instead :) If it stops working, I will make a new video.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di thanks man for the response...
Thank you for this tutorial!
damn this looks absolutely incredible, I only imagine what this could look like with Temporal Anti Aliasing turned off, which would get rid of the ghosting during motion
Thank you for this tutorial. ^^
On the scaling issue I believe the easier way is to choose an option from the game menu that lets you set scaling manually (like FSR 1.0, I believe Nvidia users can choose it too) and set scaling to 100.
If you can't run DLSS its best left at bicubic from my testing, really bizarre that there's not native res option. FSR gives horrible input lag in this game.
@@via_negativa6183 I've tried all the scaling methods available and didn't notice any input lag(playing on and AMD GPU at 1440p).
The one that seems to give the best quality is FSR 1.0 with scaling 100 (which should mean native resolution and scaling only for backgrounds).
@@progste Huh interesting, I at first was confused and thought FSR 1.0 is just an older version of FSR 2.2.
@@IIBizzyin it is actually an older version, but the key thing here is that we're not using it for upscaling so it doesn't matter. meanwhile FSR 2 is implemented with presets and I'm not completely sure that the "Quality" setting processes at full resolution all the time (I think it uses adaptive resolution) so I prefer knowing for sure my game is rendered at 100% scale.
@@progsteat 1080p quality FSR2 upscale from 720p
Outside the cleaned-up graphics, the motion blur looks so incredibly smooth. I'm so pissed that it isn't an option on the consoles. Another case where PC clearly wins.
it's likely to make sure it keeps the requires 60 fps target in gameplay.
Wait, i dont remember this option in settings on PC. I Played latest playtest and demo
@@via_negativa6183 I don’t think motion blur is that much demanding of a graphics feature. Might have something to do with the upscaling. I dunno.
Why is motion blur popular? I hate the way it looks.
It's to simulate rhe motion blur you get in real life. Usually it's used to make 30fps games look smoother, also., in motion. Tekken 6 has heavy motion blur.
Quick tip update, I would suggest using these following lines for an even better looking motion blur in-game. I used it in Tekken 7 too and it looks so good in movement :
r.MotionBlurQuality=4
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0.39
r.MotionBlur.Max=5
r.MotionBlurSeparable=1
r.MotionBlurFiltering=0
r.MotionBlur.TargetFPS=60
r.MotionBlur.HalfResGather=0
Any other settings you have been using for Tekken 7 apart from these lines?
DLSS with these modifications is so much better than what I had previously. Adding re-shade would be overkill :D
you are a good man. A decent man.
Absolutely godlike tutorial. Thanks so much for this man, hope this all will work on the final build.
great video
Pro tip, if your goal is motion clarity , your reccomendation could be better.
Taa , including dlaa , i dont mean standard taa , i mean ANY temporal aa.
Their motion clarity is based on the framebuffer.
So for example , dldsr 2.25 + dlaa will have LESS motion clarity than dsr 4x + dlss ultra performance mode.
As the framebuffer uses the upscaled image BEFORE its downsampled.
So whatever resolution you have set in game is what matters frame buffer and motion clarity wise.
Thanks!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
One of my favorite things about UE4 is the ability to adjust ini files to get my preferred result while other game engines either require a bespoke mod, or you're just SOL.
I thought I was the only one that used 2.5.1 dlss cause I noticed how much better cyberpunk ran, ill be testing the new dlss you recommended
Bro u gameplay so perfect
thanks! i'm now getting consistent 60 fps! not sure if it was the newer dlss version or what
OOOooo yeah!!!!!!!!!!
I got only a pesky AMD 6600 but these made my game look great! Absolutely recommend
Great video I even agree with your choices , except for depth of field I hate that effect just makes games look worse imo. I am interested in the motion blur, not many people like this but for a fighting game especially tekken where the characters move so fast per object motion blur is vital as far as I am concerned, camera motion blur can GTFO though.
The depth of field setting doesn't seem to affect combat, only the cinematic moves like heat engagers and rage arts. I'm keeping it on. The motion blur is actually quite nice imo, I set the amount to 0.10 but I do recommend you give that or maybe 0.05 a try.
0:27 "Just in general, its much less of a strain on the eyes." THIS! I heard/read lots of people including me, getting exhausted quickly playing Tekken 8. I knew it had to be the visuals, so thank you for this video!
Poor console peasants have to endure tho..
This is the best graphics I’ve ever seen! Thank you for the guide. Major question, what is the graphics settings set in the game itself? Would that matter/affect this at all? If so, what settings would be recommended to be set in the game?
The in-game setting with the biggest impact on clarity/blurriness would be the type of upscaling you select. Try to select DLSS/FSR/TSR *Quality* mode for the clearest image possible. DLSS is best but only Nvidia graphics cards 2000 series or above can use it. TSR is the next best. Then FSR.
The settings that I use in-game are:
Screen Mode: Fullscreen
Resolution: 2560 x 1440
V-Sync: Off ((as I have v sync enabled in nvidia control panel already and don't need to enable it a second time in the game))
Variable Rate Shading: Off
Upscaling: DLSS QUALITY
Anti-aliasing Quality: Ultra
Shadow Quality: High
Texture Quality: Ultra
Effect Quality: Ultra
Post-Processing Quality: Ultra
Background Quality: Ultra
They need to bring back lumen lighting seen in the first gameplay videos. Have option to remove TAA and give option to enable motion blur.
Motion blur should come back right? It was there in the CBT.
this guy knows what he's talking about
thank you
NIS gives me lowest GPU load for a high quality image.
'Fallen Destiny' is a good map for testing, with the best indicator is the tree line in the background.
The tree leaves can either look sharp or be a blurry mess of morphing pixels.
One tip for DLSS: DLSS Swapper lets you decide which version to use in which game. It makes it easier to test different games with different versions of DLSS.
Great vid! Liked. Question: do these DLSS modifications work for other games as well?
Yes. Any game that uses DLSS will benefit. It is good to check every two months or so if there's a new DLSS version out and do a bit of research on how good it is. Once you verify that the latest version is the best, replace the DLSS dlls in all of your game folders with the new one. I use a mod that adds DLSS to Resident Evil games for example, and because it's a mod it can't tell the difference between the HUD and the actual 3D graphics being rendered, so the HUD used to have severe ghosting trails because DLSS was upscaling it along with the rest of the image. Replacing the dll with DLSS version 3.5.10 and setting it to Preset C completely removed the ghosting of the HUD in those games.
Kazuya has on a trench coat with a full suit on and tie and the gloves to go with it lmaoooo now if that doesn’t scream I’m ready for business what does lol😂😂😂🔥10/10
Will u be doing a tutorial for the full game when it comes out?
nice tutorial! been happy with the results, i have 2 questions
does any of this add input lag?
what's the best rendering quality preset ingame for this?
I honestly know absolutely nothing about what might influence input lag so I recommend you ask around maybe on the Modding Zaibatsu discord server to see if somebody on there maybe knows. I think it's possible that Reshade and using DL/DSR could add input lag but I'm not sure.
Does changing the ambient occlusion method have any impact on fps? What about lens flare quality?
Brilliant guide!
Thank you so much for this video. I took comparison screenshots on default vs after these settings and the game looks way cleaner. It's so visible just on the character select screen. Which is the main setting that has removed the vaseline-like effect over the characters that's present in the default version?
It's the bloom that smudges and blurs the image the most. I was really surprised when I found out that that was the main culprit. It's really excessive in this game.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di BS, it's TAA and upscalers.
@@StopBlurryGameswhen you find a reliable solution to disable both TAA and upscaling (I believe TekkenOverlay has an easy upscaling disable feature in the works), then I will happily pin it to the top of the comments for people to experiment with.
Tekken 8 now has the Motion Blur setting (on/off) in the Screen options. But the quality cannot be adjusted in game.
gat damn brotha you saved the day.. the chromatic effect was insane on the space map.. unplayable
bro this has done wonders for my game, it was a blurry mess. but there's still one thing i couldn't figure out and that is how to unlock my framrate.
i really hope that its not like tekken 7 where i need an overlay to do that, it gives me headache playing at 60 in tekken 8 when for longest time i was playing tekken 7 at 144+ fps.
You will need the overlay tool again. The game is locked to 60fps. Luckily, I think the TekkenOverlay creator is making good progress with updating it for T8. Another solution that might arrive in the future could be through frame generation. Tekken 8 doesn't support frame generation but if you have an AMD graphics card, you may be able to use their Fluid Motion Frames feature to take it above 60fps. Nvidia will probably come out with a similar frame generation feature that can be used on any game in the next few years.
No you weren't bro, and if you were it would've ran at 2.5x speed because it is tied to framerate in all fighting games. There's a reason you can see people type about having 40fps and game being in slow motion.
@@talkativefox4200 He literally mentions the tekken overlay mod which allows you to run the game at higher frame rates. Why did you feel the need to talk when you dont know what the fuck you're talking about. Google "Tekken 7 overlay" you'll see how stupid you sound.
his game was running in 60 still, but he was watching interpolated frames that made the game look smoother. You just set the interpolation fps target and bam! But it generates artefacts and for some ppl looks terrible @@talkativefox4200
Thanks for the Tutorial!
I did all of the steps with an nvidia graphic card and it did wonders.
I have one Problem tho. My CPU started to spike in usage ingame to 100% and goes down to normal afterwards. Mostly happening after loading times. Delay in intros for example (video is not synced with audio).
Hope u can give me some tips
Ok the problem seems to be the settings I copy paste into engine in step 1. When I remove them, everything is normal again.
Feels bad for console players, but devs could very easily fix this but the question is will they…
that is nice.
Tell me, please- would you have anything to tone down the particle efects in the game?
I would like to mess with the low/medium/high particle effects that we have available in the demo.
Atm low efects are great, but I wonder if there's a way for us to tweak these settings even more to our liking. Like commands we use for UE in .ini file, for example.
I don't understand.. why is the game without motion blur like it's running 30fps and not 60fps? Extremely choppy! I really don't like motion blur but it's a must for this game.
Not a fan of how blurry the game looked and how the colors seemed washed out, so thank you for the video.
Quick question though, can this make you ban on Steam, since we are playing in files?
now just to wait for a mod that reimplements lumen into the game
is this possible with other games like MK1 I know about reshade but didnt mess with UE5 settings. looks amazing and will definitely use it on release!
Maybe. MK1 uses a custom version of Unreal Engine 4, right? The only way to find out is to try yourself. I don't own MK1 unfortunately.
without DLSS game became buttery smoooth without that "lag" feeling
Just a heads up for anyone messing with screen screen space reflections (r.SSR.Quality). If you set r.SSR.Quality=4 and look towards the middle of the stage from near the walls, this may cause the game seriously stutter. Running a 3080 show the fps drop by 1 or 2, but game slows down significantly. Having the quality set to 2 seemed to remove this issue.
r.SSR.Quality=4 runs great on 4080
@@krzysiekj2522 It is possible this is indeed the limitation of 3080 and below.
Did you test this specific scenario? It is the only time SSR.Quality=4 tanks the frames even on a 3070. There is something weird going on in this specific case since frame counter show well above 50, but in game it may feel around 15-20 at times. Issue is gone when moving 5 units towards the centre again.
this is most likely limitation of 30 series cards.
It is running great on my 4080, however my friend's 3070 has weird drops here and there. We cannot tie it to anything, rly. The issue disapers tho as soon as the game is set to dlss performance on isad 3070, so I suspect the VRAM struggling. Will test ssr setting on the 3070 during a weekend, I think. big ups for this tutorial but who in their right mind likes motion blur no judgement i really wanna know the in depth
In my opinion, it improves the fluidity of motion. This is very important for me in Tekken because the game is locked to 60fps, which has never looked particularly smooth to my eyes even before I switched to PC gaming and higher refresh rates. Motion blur can mask the jitteriness of animations at 60fps to trick your brain into thinking the motion is more fluid than it actually is. Personally, I found that enabling motion blur in Tekken 7 helped me to track and react to my opponent's moves more efficiently. It is up to your personal preference, of course.
Trust me bro when I say I'm not a fan of motion blur but for fighting games it's essential.
Yeah there’s like a haze, blur over everything.
Hello, thanks a lot for the guide! Also, if we delete what we pasted in the engine file, then does it go back to default? I want to make sure I can revert it if I prefer the old settings. Thanks.
you can simply redownload or verify the files thrugh steam and it shgould reset
if you wanna keep some setting at their default, is it possible to just delete the settings from the engine.ini or is it necessary that you add the default value there as well?
DLSS has a sharpness option in the control panel
Wonder if this works for the full release as well?
What ingame upscaling setting do we actually need to set for all of this to work?
Is this a good idea for pcs that can only handle tekken on low ingame settings
Thanks for the video. What are your specs and how much it will affect the resources usage?
I am on an RTX 2070 Super and i7 9700k. I am able to play the game comfortably at 1440p resolution with High/Ultra settings on DLSS Quality mode at 60fps. You will need to experiment with the settings yourself to achieve the best results for your hardware.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di apparently, 1050ti + i7 6700 is not handling the game well, so I'm considering an upgrade. Is this on max settings and good frames right off the bat before the enhancement?
@@eliaspee5649 On my hardware? Yes. The only setting I have turned down is Shadow Quality from Ultra down to High. Everything else is on Ultra. DLSS is on Quality mode, so it's upscaling from 960p to 1440p. I get a comfortable 60fps. However, the bears and maybe some of the stages in the full game might have a big performance impact for me.
Do you have a card in mind that you are considering buying?

@@eliaspee5649 3060ti is perfect if you are happy to use similar settings as I do. There should be no problems. It is about 5-10% more powerful than 2070 Super I think. Go for it if Tekken is the only reason you are upgrading.
Do we have to do any of this again after an update like the one we just got?
will this work with the actual game i wonder or do you expect you will have to make a revision update for that?

by default my DSR - Factors is set up at DSR 4.00x and I have a 1660 super, and my game runs fine. Should I just stick to the DSR factor, or should i downscale it?
Do i just leave the settings after copying and pasting or do i save the system settings in Engine.ini?
if we force dlaa (even though it's not your recommendation), what should the in game upscaling setting be? should it be any of the DLSS options, as they'll be ignored? or one of the other ones like TSR
Select a DLSS option in the game menu when you're forcing DLAA.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di thanks. I'm on 1440p monitor with 3060 Ti and got the game running pretty stable 60fps with DLAA as well as some of the engine.ini settings, including a custom motion blur. The game looks very crisp and sharp! I only get occasional frame drops during stage transitions and rage arts, as well as the main menu initially. I think this is because of shader cache issues with the game, they don't pre-load.
Will this be very demanding for the gpu?
Are you using some sort of AI noise suppression? your voice quality sounds abit like that. Anyway thanks!
It's an older mic with some funky quality and for some reason Premiere doesn't play nicely with my voice when I export, also. Sorry and I hope it was not too distracting!
Does this remove chromatic Aberration? Have no idea why they dont just add these settings in the menu like normal people. lol Game is a blurry mess.
The demo blackscreens my computer after I launch it, I just get the key art then nothing. Gonna try this to see if it helps.
In the full game, you can enable motion blur in the options. Does this conflict with anything in the video?
If you add the motion blur settings shown in the video to Engine.ini, and make Engine.ini read-only, the in-game setting for motion blur does not seem to affect anything.
I have a question, What if i am running a game natively from the in game settings, Will FSR Factor still be in effect? or it only works when dlss is on from in the game setting menu?
Because if it still works in Native resolution (dlss off) then wouldn't the game be running at higher above 100+%(120-135%) resolution then? And that is case then I will have go back and forth with enabling and disabling for the dlss(cyberpunk, Alan wake, t8 etc) and native games (rest of the games my rtx4090 can play).
I tried DLA option from the Inspector and in Tekken 8 my fps went to mid-late 50s like 56-58 which means even rtc4090 can't run T8 at native 4k.
If you run a game without DLSS, but you enable DLDSR 1.78x for example, you will be able to select 1.78x your monitor's resolution in the game options menu. Without DLSS, there would be no upscaling, so it would be running at true 1920p, for example (this is the option I get for 1.78x DLDSR on my 1440p monitor).
You can just leave DLDSR enabled in the NVIDIA control panel. The way you activate DLDSR in games is by going to the resolution option in the game menu and selecting one of the resolutions that is higher than your actual monitor's. So if you don't want to use DLDSR, just select your monitor's resolution in the game options.
Hope this helps
Would you be able to do something like this for Mortal Kombat 1 as well?
My PC doesn't support DLSS. Would I still have to make the changes relating to it?
No. You can skip Steps 3 and 4. FSR and TSR cannot be updated by users in the same way that DLSS can, either. For Step 5, use AMD VSR instead if you are on an AMD card.
Will you main a guide once the game fully launches? Thank you for this.
This should work 100% with the full game. The folders in your steam and appdata will just be called TEKKEN 8 instead of TEKKEN 8 DEMO. Everything I show in this video works on all Unreal Engine 5 games.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di Thank you !
I have an issue with the demo where textures for the background of the stage aren’t loading properly resulting in blurry stages. The stage textures load only when I set the texture setting to ultra but that means the game runs at 30 fps for me. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Check Variable Rate shading, and see if it's on OFF (as it should be). Also check Background Quality, if it's on low turn it on hight or at least medium. If texture also looks blurry you might have a Vram issue on GPU. Check if texture load normally on medium.
I can get stable 60 on all medium settings. Can’t squeeze more out of my laptop. Will this work for me?
Yes. If your framerate is lower after adding the commands to Engine.ini (Step 1), then try lowering r.MotionBlurQuality, r.MaxAnisotropy from 16 to 4, and r.AmbientOcclusionMethod from 1 to 0.
Step 5 will drastically lower your framerate, so do not use that.
Hey guys, is it possible to remove the red filter from the demo on pc, especially from rage art?
Maybe ask around on Modding Zaibatsu discord server :)
Everything running smoothly until I realise I don't have DSR factors
In the Engine.ini file from Step 1, you can add the line:
r.ScreenPercentage=value
Where value is the percentage of your monitor's resolution you want to run the game at. So at 1080p, r.ScreenPercentage=200 would render assets for 4K (3840x2160) resolution.
The downscaling will not be as advanced as Nvidia's but it *should* be doing a similar thing i.e. forcing the game to render assets at above your monitor's resolution = the resolution that upscaling starts at is also raised.
If you are on an AMD card, use AMD VSR (Virtual Super Resolution) instead.
As with DLDSR, you need a lot of extra GPU power to run this reliably. Less intense alternatives include forcing DLAA in NVIDIA profile inspector like I show in Step 4 or using the 3rd DLSS setting to set custom scaling factors e.g. by default, DLSS Quality upscaled from 66% of your monitor's resolution, but you can instead set it to upscale from something like 0.8% or 0.9%. Of course, the detail offered by raising the internal resolution/using DSR/using VSR would be much better.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di after installing these steps I find that the game running on my monitor refresh rate as before it running on 60hz
@@onelefthanded6928 Tekken 8 is locked to 60fps. It can't go any higher for now. There may be mods in the future that let you run it at a higher frame rate. Keep an eye on the TekkenOverlay mod.
can you tell the settings for Tekken 7?
I suspect this guide to get the game to drop fps ... I have a decent rig 3080 ryzen 5800 32 gb ram but i get some fps drop in the intro outro character select screen after some heat engagers so is it just me ? I have try toning down some setting and it help a tiny bit but still get the fps drop ...
What do you recommend me to do with a 1650gtx and a 8gb RAM for tekken 8?
That depends on your resolution. You *should* be able to run the game well at 1080p, TSR Quality mode with settings on a mix of a medium and high. But please experiment with the settings yourself as I really don't know for sure.
can i do this with my amd gpu(rx-580)?
Just curious since I missed on the getting the demo version is it still possible for me to play tekken 8 right now if so can someone guide me through it?
There's a demo on Steam available right now that everybody can download. It is not like the CNT/CBT tests. You just go to the Steam store page for Tekken 8 and there will be an option to download the demo version which includes 4 characters, the first chapter of story mode, the first chapter of arcade quest, and Ghost Battle versus ghosts that the developers have made + a ghost based on you that you can train yourself.
Is there a difference between the motion blure in the UE5 Settings and the native motion blur setting in game?
The motion blur in the game is the UE5 motion blur with specific locked settings. I would guess that the default game motion blur is set to 2 or 3 Quality level, whereas we can raise that level to 4 with Engine.ini settings. I don't know what the default blur amount would be, but the point is that you can lower or raise that value more to your liking by changing the settings in Engine.ini, whereas the defualt motion blur is just an on/off switch.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di Oh Okay I get it, thanks :)
Please make a guide for LAUNCH
It should be exactly the same process for the full version of the game, except that any folders or files called "Tekken 8 Demo" will just be "Tekken 8".
Hi ! I have a 1080p screen so i'm running the game on it for now. I only did step 1 and clarity went already better, but I still get an issue with the blur I think. I see strays or points on the characters while using it with the settings you put on description. When I put the two blur settings on zero it disappears but I have then a really sharp game, and the hairs of characters has points(aliasing) on the edges. I will try the DLSS settings next, but is it the good option ? I mean your motion blur looks smooth and not aliased.
My question is : does my issue come from the 1080p res instead of 4K, one of the blur option I need to modify or the DLSS settings ?
Thanks to you again !
Bonus question : do those changes demands for more pc ressources ? Can I keep the same settings if I put my computer on a 4K TV ?
I maybe find an answer for my hair/movement aliasing problem in your chapter about preset C. Definitely going to learn to be a proud PC owner with your video and setting a good DLSS 😅
What graphics card do you have? If you have enough extra graphics power, I would recommend that you use DLDSR to run the game at 1440p and then scale back down to 1080p as shown in Step 5. Tekken 8 looks really terrible at 1080p. Let me know what card you have.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di I have a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 AERO OC 8G. I didnt know you could do that scaling. I don't know much 😅 I watched the video but I understand it slowly 🦥
Now I remember in certain games like genshin impact i can change the resolution ingame and play in 1.5x resolution and it looks a lot better.
@@CravateCrevette Yeah man. Watch Step 5 and enable DLDSR 2.25x. For your 1080p monitor, it should allow you to select a 1620p resolution in the game. Your 4060 should be more than enough to run that. It will look much better than just running the game at 1080p.
Also, DLDSR is always better than in-game resolution scale options. It uses deep learning to preserve more detail from the higher resolution and decide how to best represent the extra detail on a lower res 1080p monitor.
Good luck and I hope it helps make the game look better for you.
with motion blur active i get kazuya ears blocky in the main menu (lol), i also tried increasing r.DepthOfFieldQuality=2 to 6 with a slight inprovement, how can i fix this?
Depth of field quality only goes as high as 4. However, 3 and 4 are intended for cutscenes, not 60fps gameplay.
I'm not sure how to help with your blocky ears issue, sorry.
If the last 3 commands are the default values why put them even in there? If you dont use the commands shouldnt it automatically be the default?
Because some people might want to change them. So I made it easy for them by putting the commands in there already
@@Rodeobro-hj6di thanks
For some reason during Kazuya's intro pose when he bumps his fists the electricity around his hands is in white color instead of blue. Any way to fix it? it became like this only after I applied the settings and stuff from this guide.
These are my settings:
4k Resolution
Everything on Ultra
DLSS Quality
DSR disabled
DLSS is updated from this guide
Nvidia Profile Inspector is Preset C (DLAA disabled)
My .ini file:
[SystemSettings]
r.BloomQuality=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0.00
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=1
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
r.AmbientOcclusion.Method=1
r.LensFlareQuality=2
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.DepthOfField.MaxSize=0
Try setting tonemapper quality to 2 or 0, ambient occlusion method to 0, depth of field quality to 2, and depth of field max size to 100 and let me know if any of those fix it
@@Rodeobro-hj6di Thank you so much for replying! 😊 I tried now using the settings you suggested but unfortunately the lightning effects are still in white color and I forgot to mention that they are also thin (It's like Kazuya's lightning color is supposed to be white but on top of them there's also needs to be a thick blue color as an extra layer). I'm glad though that it's not related to Depth of Field (I assume?) because I don't like this effect at all >,< I'm still hoping that you have a fix for me :(
@@Devaizter Make sure the effects transparency setting in the game menu under Screen Settings is set to Medium, not Low. See if r.BloomQuality=4 also restores the effect you want. If that doesn't work, you will need to delete Engine.ini and verify integrity of the game files on Steam, and then go through the SystemSettings in Engine.ini one by one until it breaks again and you figure out which command causes it.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di The Effect Saturation is set to High. What are the default values for each setting in the .ini file or when you set all of the settings in-game on Ultra?
@@Devaizter If you google "Unreal Engine 5 console commands" and look for a .xml file in one of the results, you will get a page with a list of every single command you can put into Engine.ini of UE5 games. This list also tells you the default values of each of these commands.
However, I am not sure if the default UE5 values are what Tekken 8 uses, since Tekken 8 keeps motion blur disabled at all times for example, so r.MotionBlurQuality default for Tekken 8 isn't actually 3 but it would be 0.
I don't have the console commands list with me right now so I can't tell you the default values off the top of my head sorry
is there a motion blur setting on the pc demo? I don't see it anywhere. It's disabled on default on all the platforms.
Good catch. There used to be a motion blur setting on PC in the CNT/CBT tests. They have since removed it. The only way to enable motion blur now is to add the
r.MotionBlurQuality=4 (for max quality motion blur)
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0.30 (whatever value you want for the intensity of the motion blur effect)
commands to Engine.ini as shown in the first step.
@@Rodeobro-hj6di i'm really hoping they add motion blur settings on all platforms on release. It makes the game look and feel dramatically better.
