- Havant & Warerlooville play in the Conference South but the FA Cup had them playing Swansea and they beat Swansea 4-2 in the Third Round. The Fourth Round of the FA Cup had them playing against Liverpool at Anfield. This would be the biggest game in Havants history. This is the story of the Havant & Waterlooville v Liverpool Fourth Round FA Cup game.

the respect liverpool players gave havant & Waterlooville after the match was superb. I am not a fan of Liverpool but I will give credit where it is due, the respect they shown was impeccable. One of the most enthralling matches ever in FA cup history.

I'm the biggest fan of alfie potter, i even wrote him a letter to give to him at the game. I was here in the front row. I had my havant and waterlooville shirt on and was crying from joy (i was only 9) when potter scored! Legendary moment. Will remeber it for all my life.

took Havant & W in Football Manager 07 first time and after 6 seasons i reached Champions League Final! Every year itake Havant & W in FM and i try to make it european champion. When i heard that Havant & W reached 4th round of the FA Cup i was surprised! I told to all my friends that, "that football club of the 6th divison in England that i found and i liked now plays at anfield"

What a buzz for everyone playing & supporting. My local non league big shots were Bashley . In spite of the place just being a hamlet on the main road from the A35 to the seaside , they also met Swansea . Held them to a draw & were drawn at home against Middlesbrough if they won the replay. Apparently the Boro were terrified of playing away as they’d been told that Cows shared the pitch and asked to have it played at Ayrsone Park or Cellnet Stadium. As a Pompey fan I was absolutely copahoop for Havant even if they did lose in the end.
This is what the FA Cup can do. H & W came to one of the cathedrals of football to give their best (and nearly succeeded in their quest!). The entire crowd cheered them and Liverpool (the city) took H&W to their hearts and gave them an occasion they'll remember all their lives. Wonderful. Still brings a year to my eye, 12 years later.

I was in the Kop at that game. What I recall most is the Kop applauding when Havant scored 1st and the Havant fans at the Anfield Road End applauding when Lucas equalised with a superb goal. Summed up a special day.

I remember that day. I was Watching Exeter my team at home to someone and we cheered loud and proud for havant both goals when we heard them come through the ground. I was at Old trafford when we drew 0-0 and The F.A Cup is the greatest Comp in the world.

I was at that game on the Kop and it was one of the best knockout games of football i ever witnessed , i remember clapping both times they scored in front of me on the kop to take the lead . These guys where posties brickies etc and they deserved to be applauded , it was proper Roy of the Rovers / Billy the Fish comic strip stuff !!
I'm a swansea fan who was at both games vs havant and waterlooville , and fair play to you ! we will more than likely get the chance to visit anfield again as we are a pretty big high up club , but im soo glad you got the oppurtunity as it may never happen for you again ! That Fa Cup's edition, was most incredible of the history!!.. many surprises. . Bristol Rovers winning anyteam, Cardiiff in the finals, Portsmouth winning 80 years ago, Barnsley stunning Liverpool and Chelsea, three non Premier League clubs in the semifinals., just this of Havant, etc, etc.. Just witnessed Crawley go through to the 4th round tonight. All this is incredible. I'm a Liverpool fan. and I remember the story of Havant's cup run ad i rember being in game when they said Havant a W are winning 1-0 and in Holland and Barret when they retook the league. And i was a worried fan. Crawley havent exaclty got the toughest draw in Torquay in the 4th round. but Havant and W are in the league below Crawley. It's incredible clubs can do this.

was so near to pissing myself with laughter when they scored the first...heard it on the radio and couldn't breath for laughing so hard....phil Tompsons reaction on SSN is worth watching for the worlds biggest laugh at his face xD...get in there havant good on you....they deserved to win it IMO - had 4 chances and liverpools 5th was offside so unlucky for them in that respect :)

I support wealdstone, 1 division below havant, and I know what its like scoring against bigger teams (lost 3-2 to rotherham in F.A cup 1st round this season). That was good, but to get 2 against liverpool was amazing. Fair doos to you guys xx
