I respect Shrewsbury and credit to them for what they did but let’s not pretend they didn’t get a pen for a foul outside the area and Liverpool were denied a clear pen for an intentional handball by the Shrewsbury defender. Also all of Shrewsbury’s chances were between 2-0 and 2-2 then Liverpool were back on top at 2-2 so your logic makes no sense. Don’t get why people can’t credit a team without going over the top

The fact that there’s discussions of getting rid of replays in the competition is criminal, the revenue it brings for lower clubs as well as the drama and entertainment is unmatched. No one can seriously consider scrapping them, if you do, I cannot help you
Wasnt even some lower league manager complaining about it? The health of the players and the quality of football played are more important, don't you think? And these smaller clubs have better chance of winning (if you're talking about FA cupsets) over one leg , with penalties than over two legs.
I prefer replays, but I can appreciate a situation like this where lower teams have a higher chance of getting through if they get penalties in the first game rather than having to win a second tie
It’s all the plastic premier league managers. Its only ever Man U, LFc AFC etc (big clubs) that trot this replay crap out...let them squeal. @@bear1245 Actually, managers are arguing that when getting rid of replays, they always play the match at the home of the lower seeded side, that way the lower league teams always get the revenue.

As a Liverpool fan now living in the Midlands I loved this game, better than the Everton tie. Shrews had us in a right mess a few times with some great passing and to come back from that second half start is nothing but grit. Bit of a reality check for us and a welcome one at that, and how awesome that we get to watch a replay at anfield so some of the shrews players and staff (who supported Liverpool, I believe one was even in Istanbul) gets to experience a knockout game at anfield. Bring it on, I hope we get a good game, I'm a red through and through but we can't deny the FA cup is something special and way underated by bigger teams. If we aren't gonna win this cup because we are focusing on the league I want shrews to be the ones to take us out, hats off to them GG all :)

This game made me realise that VAR isn’t so bad. There was a definite handball by a Shrewsbury player and the pen should have been a freekick. That being said, Liverpool were really sloppy even if they were u23s

I think Shrewsbury will win at Anfield. After all the u23s manager and the u23 team is already been confirmed as the team to play the replay, Shrewsbury have a good chance especially considering how poor Liverpool were. Except for the first goal and a couple of over ambitious strikes from Origi Liverpool just kept giving the ball away and left lots of space for Shrewsbury’s quick players to utilise well. Shrewsbury could’ve won if the ref had spotted Elliot’s hand ball in the box but I guess the fact that the penalty we did get came from a challenge outside the box made up for that. I look forward to the replay and think it will still be a challenge but Liverpool’s younger players are just too inexperienced and make too many mistakes for them to make it an easy win, if Shrewsbury play like they did this time and against Bristol City the odds are heavily stacked against Liverpool
