The game doesn’t have a physics engine and they are NOT trying to achieve any type of realism it has an animation based algorithm designed to keep you addicted and frustrated through engineered loses and wins. The algorithm controls EVERYTHING in the game not you. It controls who youre matched up against, which direction the ball goes, what level of teammates you get AND which type of play style they use in order to set you up for success or failure. They control your jumpshot timing,green window size , recovery speed, contest strength, EVERYTHING. Your attributes and badges are just a distraction to give you the illusion of control so you keep blaming yourself instead of the game. This is exactly why you get PUNISHED for doing the only thing that is within your control (Quitting). They want you to experience all the frustration and pain they set you up for so that you keep spending money on builds and boosts over and over. Mike Wang and Ronnie are nothing but fall men they have 0 power or say so. They even hinder your freedom of speech if you are one of their paid celebrity or influencer pawns that’s why they call them (influencers) and recently rebranded it as (game-makers) to make it easier to blame anyone but them including yourself. For another year in a row you can enjoy buying the game 23 times in an attempt to rebuild your ego from the lashing they intentionally give it everyday for playing this garbage. You aren’t playing the game the game is playing your ego. 99% of the time you aren’t even having fun, you’re just seeking that next dopamine release from a scripted win against opponents who had no chance of beating you. It's been like that for a minute. Why I stopped playing after 2K22. One day you can't miss and the next day same jumper, same boosts, same everything you can't make a shot to save your life. It's all manufactured and rigged for you to win when they want you to, and lose when they want you to. There are algorythm's (especially in COD) where they know exactly what kind of outcomes keep people playing the longest so they exploit your play mid game to get the desired outcome to keep you playing more and more. The more and more you stay on playing the more likely you are to dump more money into the game.
That won’t happen, but we can continue to make these problems known and embarrass them. With enough embarrassment, it will get back to the higher ups and they will be forced to make drastic changes but it has to be CONSISTENT. The problems need to be clearly displayed and undeniably so. If the community can do this as a whole, heads will roll.
The worst part is it don’t matter realistically we should boycott 2k25 and no one should buy any more vc then they’ll get a wake up call but theirs always going to be to be weirdos who will continue to pour thousands of dollars into this trash game

I’m old enough to remember when nba live was THE nba game. 2k was hungry they were innovative. The grind is what made them listen because they weren’t established. Now that they are established all this “the game is terrible” shit they don’t care bro. If you want real change in anything in life not even a video game you have to hurt their pockets. Only 2k I put up. Dropped my defender on the wing, drove baseline and the animation pulled me out of bounds when I had a wide open dunk in rec. 🤦🏽♂️ devs definitely have no interest in listening. I’m holding out on buying the next one.

This game or any 2k game wouldn’t be so damn bad if it wasn’t for the cost to build a player, if 2k made the builds 80% cheaper, the whole 2k community would dance all night on the game. In perspective, if a build cost an average 380k, 80% less would be around 75k a build. That’s $20 to max them out. If you spent $100 that’s 5 builds you can max out and have fun on. Now if I spend $100, I get one build and “rebirth to 99,” which will take forever to max out by grinding with my only build. Ain’t no one got time for that or have fun doing that. 2k is in shambles for being that greedy.

21:12 the only thing I hated about 17 was the Paul George loading screen 😭. Other than that it was fire asl, that was the first 2k I found out what a point forward was. First build was a 6’7 sharpshooter, then a 6’5 playmaker, then finally my 6’9 point forward. Even back then mycareer was fun, remember getting a pop up when 2k telling you u unlocked your grand badge or your hof level badges😎‼️…sighhhh the good old days 😪
I have 90 speed and 90 aglity on a slasher and 7'0 can stay in front of my guy. I hate that it feels like my player is in cement when he moves up and down the court or driving to the basket. Especially in the Proven Grounds smh
People need to see 2k through the lens of a business. You can’t fault a company for wanting to make money, but how a company makes money matters. Once you realize that every game play decision is geared towards psychologically tricking you to spending more money and making more builds, then everything happening makes sense. I have IRLs that made 1-2 builds last year saying this game trash and already have 5+ builds. Combine that with a community of basketball fans that just love basketball so we torture ourselves playing this trash cuz we love the sport and it’s the only major game out there for it. It doesn’t fix anything but the first step to addressing the issue is understanding where it comes from.

It's definitely something you can't run all day everyday. I usually run 1-4 games every night after I get off work & enjoy much more then if I tried to play all day on Saturday. 2 L's and I'm off for the next 4-6 hours.

Myteam salary cap is a good mode. I don't play anything else. I do like that it's harder to hit 3s now. Fades seem to be a little easier to make. I like that too.

2k25 is the most realistic 2k ever, but only when you play comp AI. The realism is lost when you play online against other people. That’s because PEOPLE ARE THE PROBLEM! The vast majority of the community is not interested in playing 2k the way basketball meant to be played. I don’t even think most players know how to play basketball. Most are gamers looking to win by exploiting mechanics. That’s why the game always seems unrealistic.

1:00 I will have to disagree. If you look at the Take Two portfolio, the companies and games under them are Rockstar/GTA, Epic/Fortnite, and NBA2k. What do those games have in common? Man if the shooting isn’t bad enough the way they COMPLETELY nerfed layups in this years game is beyond comprehension, layups were good as of not better than dunks on 24’, this year you can miss wide open lays with regularity, bending the corner and hitting a lay or scoopy is damn near non existent because of the clunkiness, no fluid motion at all, shits sad man, my first build was all lay no dunk, waste of money right off the bat.

25 is def the worst to me.. I’ve played since Dreamcast and this game has had me switching consoles back and forth trying to find consistency because shooting sucks, I can’t use my dunk meter half the time, I get pulled out of animations. Then last week after an update latency was so bad that I would be dribbling to get away from the lock and try to pass and I would have to spam it 5-6 times before the ball would even pass it making it a late pass or I just turn the ball over… it still happens and and it’s just overly annoying.. if I wasn’t a basketball head I wouldn’t even play..

I did the lay up practice, every single lay up was green, like it wasn't even close to missing. I didn't know how I was that good at the timing! So I get in a game and 0 for 8 layups not even close to green..
The reason why the community values Yaadman’s opinion regarding the game is because his general disposition is positive. When creators such as him or Blaqkobra give constructive criticism, it resonates with their viewers because they’re not complaining about the game every year. It begins to fall on deaf ears when it’s the same song on repeat.
In a nutshell it just makes me sad that the game is the way it is. It sucks because they added a lot of really cool features that are shrouded in just downright terrible gameplay. It's gotten to the point where I don't even get mad at dumb stuff happening I just laugh it off knowing that it's just apart of the game which as a consumer is not something I should have to say to myself.
Floaters are useless too They miss even when you have 99 close shot and you get a good floater animation maybe 1/10 attempts Also you gotta get too close to even activate one when guys like Darius Garland run 50% of their offense through the fear of a floater

After a whole lots of adjusting of badges, ratings, tendencies, coaches setting I’m finally found sim game play and I’m having the most fun Ive had on a 2k game since 16. 2K has a lot of problems when it comes to balancing gameplay for online human vs human but I gotta say they have the system in place albeit with many tweaks to have a fun time offline vs the comp

My career finds a way to pull more money out of you every year. my team finds a way to pull more money out of you 2K 24 was not good 2K 23 was not good 2K 22 was not good. they are all games filled to the brim with the micro transactions for con creators. This isn’t a big deal because they spend the money because they can make it back with views for normal people. You are spending money wasting money for nothing. these game modes. Some of these people invest over $500 only for next year to throw the game away and never play it again. You just paid $500 for a game that you’ll never play again. The real problem are the consumers if the consumers stop using VC. Stop playing 2K. Stop buying stupid ass clothes and cosmetic things for a basketball game. Then maybe the game would improved but no, we have an entire community who spends real money to make sure that their basketball player has on namebrand clothes who spent extra money to make sure that their player has additional attributes that normal players don’t have. I use to run with my crew on 5 vs 5 REAL teamups where we use REAL NBA teams. I don’t mess with that create a player crap for the reasons u said. Also last year I played a lot and o mean a lot of those 5$ online tournaments they had. They brought it back but not the money version I think it take sometime for them to bring it in cuz i think I started playing those tournaments around either this time or early tournaments. IT WAS WORTH IT!!! Not to brag but I won 1000$ in total and bought many games for free including 2k25 so I’m less mad like the rest of the community cuz I got the game for free and I make no builds nor spend on them. I have over 140k vc and not planning on using them actually I never use them for the past 6+ 2k games. Good job in your part.
Feel the same way. They should separate the two. I hate playing rec because it's a bunch of hacks that take off after every shot to get a full-court pass for an easy dunk on a rebound, or dribble god PGs that never pass, or players that will shoot 3s as soon as they're passed the ball. Very few times has it actually felt like actual basketball.

This game or any 2k game wouldn’t be so damn bad if it wasn’t for the cost to build a player, if 2k made the builds 80% cheaper, the whole 2k community would dance all night on the game. In perspective, if a build cost an average 380k, 80% less would be around 75k a build. That’s $20 to max them out. If you spent $100 that’s 5 builds you can max out and have fun on. Now if I spend $100, I get one build and “rebirth to 99,” which will take forever to max out by grinding with my only build. Ain’t no one got time for that or have fun doing that. 2k is in shambles for being that greedy.

21:12 the only thing I hated about 17 was the Paul George loading screen 😭. Other than that it was fire asl, that was the first 2k I found out what a point forward was. First build was a 6’7 sharpshooter, then a 6’5 playmaker, then finally my 6’9 point forward. Even back then mycareer was fun, remember getting a pop up when 2k telling you u unlocked your grand badge or your hof level badges😎‼️…sighhhh the good old days 😪
I have 90 speed and 90 aglity on a slasher and 7'0 can stay in front of my guy. I hate that it feels like my player is in cement when he moves up and down the court or driving to the basket. Especially in the Proven Grounds smh

People need to see 2k through the lens of a business. You can’t fault a company for wanting to make money, but how a company makes money matters. Once you realize that every game play decision is geared towards psychologically tricking you to spending more money and making more builds, then everything happening makes sense. I have IRLs that made 1-2 builds last year saying this game trash and already have 5+ builds.
Combine that with a community of basketball fans that just love basketball so we torture ourselves playing this trash cuz we love the sport and it’s the only major game out there for it.
It doesn’t fix anything but the first step to addressing the issue is understanding where it comes from.

1:00 I will have to disagree. If you look at the Take Two portfolio, the companies and games under them are Rockstar/GTA, Epic/Fortnite, and NBA2k. What do those games have in common? An insane amount of in game content that are forcefully marketed and competitive advantages. They are all using the same predatory behavior.
As a stage/5s lock I actually liked 22 next gen but that’s about it that was the last 2k I felt like I had full control over my player
Man if the shooting isn’t bad enough the way they COMPLETELY nerfed layups in this years game is beyond comprehension, layups were good as of not better than dunks on 24’, this year you can miss wide open lays with regularity, bending the corner and hitting a lay or scoopy is damn near non existent because of the clunkiness, no fluid motion at all, shits sad man, my first build was all lay no dunk, waste of money right off the bat.

Playing Center on 2k has always been a staple for me. 2k25 is by far the worst experience I've ever had Playing Center. Not one single mechanic is applicable when it comes to Playing big

25 is def the worst to me.. I’ve played since Dreamcast and this game has had me switching consoles back and forth trying to find consistency because shooting sucks, I can’t use my dunk meter half the time, I get pulled out of animations. Then last week after an update latency was so bad that I would be dribbling to get away from the lock and try to pass and I would have to spam it 5-6 times before the ball would even pass it making it a late pass or I just turn the ball over… it still happens and and it’s just overly annoying.. if I wasn’t a basketball head I wouldn’t even play..

The reason why the community values Yaadman’s opinion regarding the game is because his general disposition is positive. When creators such as him or Blaqkobra give constructive criticism, it resonates with their viewers because they’re not complaining about the game every year. It begins to fall on deaf ears when it’s the same song on repeat.
Physics always been off. The fact that speed doesn't correlate to jumping ability or vertical is truly unrealistic. If you know, you know.
In a nutshell it just makes me sad that the game is the way it is. It sucks because they added a lot of really cool features that are shrouded in just downright terrible gameplay. It's gotten to the point where I don't even get mad at dumb stuff happening I just laugh it off knowing that it's just apart of the game which as a consumer is not something I should have to say to myself.

They miss even when you have 99 close shot and you get a good floater animation maybe 1/10 attempts
Also you gotta get too close to even activate one when guys like Darius Garland run 50% of their offense through the fear of a floater

After a whole lots of adjusting of badges, ratings, tendencies, coaches setting I’m finally found sim game play and I’m having the most fun Ive had on a 2k game since 16. 2K has a lot of problems when it comes to balancing gameplay for online human vs human but I gotta say they have the system in place albeit with many tweaks to have a fun time offline vs the comp

The fact of the matter is NBA 2K has progressively gotten worse year after year. year after year micro transactions have gotten worse. Not better. They have never been a year where it was better than it was the prior year. It gets worse every year. My career finds a way to pull more money out of you every year. my team finds a way to pull more money out of you 2K 24 was not good 2K 23 was not good 2K 22 was not good. they are all games filled to the brim with the micro transactions for con creators. This isn’t a big deal because they spend the money because they can make it back with views for normal people. You are spending money wasting money for nothing. these game modes. Some of these people invest over $500 only for next year to throw the game away and never play it again. You just paid $500 for a game that you’ll never play again. The real problem are the consumers if the consumers stop using VC. Stop playing 2K. Stop buying stupid ass clothes and cosmetic things for a basketball game. Then maybe the game would improved but no, we have an entire community who spends real money to make sure that their basketball player has on namebrand clothes who spent extra money to make sure that their player has additional attributes that normal players don’t have. I use to run with my crew on 5 vs 5 REAL teamups where we use REAL NBA teams. I don’t mess with that create a player crap for the reasons u said. Also last year I played a lot and o mean a lot of those 5$ online tournaments they had. They brought it back but not the money version I think it take sometime for them to bring it in cuz i think I started playing those tournaments around either this time or early tournaments. IT WAS WORTH IT!!! Not to brag but I won 1000$ in total and bought many games for free including 2k25 so I’m less mad like the rest of the community cuz I got the game for free and I make no builds nor spend on them. I have over 140k vc and not planning on using them actually I never use them for the past 6+ 2k games. Good job in your part.

I hate playing rec because it's a bunch of hacks that take off after every shot to get a full-court pass for an easy dunk on a rebound, or dribble god PGs that never pass, or players that will shoot 3s as soon as they're passed the ball.
