He talked about that there are two different types when you're that big, I'm going to preface this I agree with you. But the two different types are the ones that have to always eat to stay that big or you have the people who just can't keep the weight off, And there is no excuse because even if he was on the football field the guy would have to lose some weight he just gets too big for his body.
@lostnemesis It is true that some rare genetic mutation lets you build more muscle than your frame is built for. Look at the guys in strongman competitions for example. He on the other hand has a junkfood addiction and it is well documented that he does. They don't expect him to slim down to KDs size ffs... Just dont become a ball with legs 🤣
I agree some people’s body’s are different. But if you make it to the league, and play at the level he did, it’s possible to overcome that deficiency. The man just doesn’t want it enough.

Tbh its not really crazy to me that a generational level prospect that comes in unhealthy and undisciplined every season begins to lose out on money. His own actions and lack of passion for the game are what are sabotaging his physical health, finances, and team success. Good riddance.
Zion can absolutely keep his weight in check ..even with a hamstring injury ....he can do cardio with just hes hands on things like hand bikes...and he can have healthy meals prepared...the problem is the dude is unprofessional AF
It's not a typical contract. But Zion doesn't play much, doesn't put in the effort and always comes in overweight. Putting in the work and being in shape should be the minimum to get paid tens of millions as an athlete.
This might revolutionize how players get paid no bs, he’s one of the biggest young stars and this type of contract structure helps teams get the best out of players while guaranteeing they’re not wasting money.
What you don’t get is that most times it’s the team having the players miss games & they do it to protect their investment. Zion is an extreme case though.
This whole video just as applicable to the Raps 🙃 Scottie been out, Quick still out, Olynyk, Bruce Brown.. been playin straight rookie lineups n shit lol
This may be a hot take, but I think all supermax contracts should come with clauses like this. If a player gets big money like that, they need to take their job seriously, stay healthy and play. The team gave them that money because they want to make a run for a championship, so is it unfair to have mechanisms in place to keep players accountable. We've seen many players ball out in their contract year and as soon as they get that big contract, they get really lazy.
anyone remembers the time when zion was said to the reincarnation of lebron and he was on espn all day ? the fall off has been crazy .. weight gain (smh) , injuries . i CANNOT remember the last time i saw a highlight of him dunking these last few seasons .
I am as pro player as it gets until you get to that 3rd contract that just leaves teams hamstrung with players who get paid, PAID & then stop evolving. The rookie extension & beyond should have more opt outs for the teams. Teams cant get off these bad guaranteed contracts in order to go another direction & rebuild faster. Zach Levine's untradeable contract comes to mind. Zion etc. Teams have to overpay retain players & then your stuck with a bad deal until it gets closer to expiring.
Tbh Zion should be held more accountable for his own losses... He probanly had 2 options: sign a lucrative deal with a lot of restrictions, basically gambling on himself or sign a way smaller but guaranteed deal. He cant blame his former agency for him showing up out of shape YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR! It also seems clear that he plays basketball because he was born to do it; because if hebliked it, he would take better care of himself.
When a team has so many injuries, who do we blame? There is clearly something wrong with the players conditioning and the way they are preparing for the season.
Being able to play 74% of the schedule and being in shape is not too much to ask for the multimillion dollars he gets paid. He can still control his weight and have a lower level of body fat even with an injury. Many of his injuries are conditioning related, like his current one.
ZiMelo loading. Zion gonna ask to be traded cheap just to get outta there. Hornets could probably make it happen for Bridges, Curry and a handful of 2nds.
I like this type of contract. Injuries are a part of sport, but Zion clearly doesn't put in the efforts it takes to be great. Paying to sit on the sidelines and eat is ridiculous.
People used to be pissed when Kobe wouldn’t pass the ball to certain players… he didn’t trust guys who didn’t share the same commitment he had to the game. He considered it disrespectful to not put in the hard work required to win. Kobe is shaking his head right now at what the league has become. Zion has zero dedication. it upsets me to think that so many others didn’t get the opportunity in the NBA who wouldn’t squander it.
Imagine being one of the best talents on the court in hs and college then manage to get drafted to then fumble it all by not being a little disciplined in the slightest. If he doesn't wanna ball get him the hell outta there. There's no excuse being a paid athlete having all the resources/ equipment to train.
When low said “everybody can sign a gurantee contract except u Yll got me Fck Up” I started crying cuz deadass I’m wit low on tht😂😂! My question to Zion is did he have anybody look over this deal cuz the way the contract is put together it look like a set 🆙
his issue is being born with bad geometry in his hips. no matter how hard he works he can't overcome that. trying to force it just makes it worse and leads to more injuries to other areas from overcompensating for a weakness somewhere (hips) now his hamstrings, knees, and lower back are all taking the brunt of being forced to operate around a hitch. you can see it when he walks he's clearly in pain and something is nagging him, for what, 10+ years now? that doesn't go away just because someone handed him a few hundred million and handed him an NBA jersey.
The fact that he entered college at 6’6 271 is pure insanity. This guy should have been on a strict weight regimen his entire life. No surprise he is paying for it now at near 300lbs.
All contracts should be like this, u only get ur money if u play majority of ur games, only exception is a serious injury or a family emergency like death or a birth of a child other then that, u need to play to get paid all ur money
Zion Williams loves food and women, not basketball. The problem was he was a sheltered kid, once he got all that money he got to indulge in the lifestyle he always wanted. He’s tasting the devils fruit and it’s thrown off his God given gift and purpose.
So why did God give him this gift if he knew he would eat his way out of it? Dosent make sense at all why not give the gift to a harder worker or something
If you had the chance to trade Anthony Davis when he no longer wants to play for your team and someone tells you that you can get Brandon Ingram, Dejounte Murray and CJ McCullom for him- I think you’d probably do that.
So...can other teams trade for him on the LESSER value that he's worth as per their 'games played' clause OR do they still have to consider him at his full contract value?
@@firefox1234ize Haha..No, what Im asking is - if Zion is making 60 mil over the next two years, but because of the weight stipulations, games played clause in his contract, he's only going to get 38 million, can teams trade for him based on the 38 (so its easier to acquire him) OR is he still trading at the 60 million salary cap hit as per the 'original' contract? In other words, if the team is only paying him 38 million and Im the Hawks, why should I have to match at 60 million??
@@PhatDimes He would still have his 60mil cap hit if traded now but his weight clauses will stay. Tbh its not really crazy to me that a generational level prospect that comes in unhealthy and undisciplined every season begins to lose out on money. His own actions and lack of passion for the game are what are sabotaging his physical health, finances, and team success. Good riddance.
Some people can't keep weight off, and you have people like myself that want to be heavier but i cant keep weight on. It just disappears.
😂LOW lowkey FOUL! Gone post a video on ZIONS favorite holiday 🙏🏽😭
Zion can absolutely keep his weight in check ..even with a hamstring injury ....he can do cardio with just hes hands on things like hand bikes...and he can have healthy meals prepared...the problem is the dude is unprofessional AF
0:10 The blazers😂😂😂
The pelicans to trade for bronnie James
He needs to go to a team like the heat!
he's gonna use that heat to roast his meal
@@itiswhatitis235he gonna have his food on preheat
Boys, should i drop Zion from my fantasy...
No funny, wait one more month
Do you guys actually think he will be back in middle of December?
why tf did you even take him lol
Lmao no keep him 😂
Fatty on fatty violence, this video.
This man out here getting tatted when he need to be tryna find a chef and nutritionist 😂
talking about a contract clause where your weight and bfp can’t be over 295 as a nba player is ludicrous
It’s specific for Zion not every nba player
It's not a typical contract. But Zion doesn't play much, doesn't put in the effort and always comes in overweight. Putting in the work and being in shape should be the minimum to get paid tens of millions as an athlete.
It’s been a struggle as a Pels fan. We need a new strength and conditioning coach/medical team and new head coach/coaching staff.
Just take the team out of New Orleans and put them in San Diego or Vegas
Yeah, I don't think that is the problem.
I had trouble telling which one of yall is Zion in the thumbnail
YO! This video earned you a subscriber. Keep up the good work, homie!
This might revolutionize how players get paid no bs, he’s one of the biggest young stars and this type of contract structure helps teams get the best out of players while guaranteeing they’re not wasting money.
3:49 Bro this might be demonetized if you don't censor that
How so?
Expect more NBA contracts to be structured this way.
If you don't play, you don't get paid
What you don’t get is that most times it’s the team having the players miss games & they do it to protect their investment. Zion is an extreme case though.
This whole video just as applicable to the Raps 🙃 Scottie been out, Quick still out, Olynyk, Bruce Brown.. been playin straight rookie lineups n shit lol
Hunter is one of the reasons we have a winning record in Atlanta, this has been by far his best year early on.
@2:35 That's the Pelicans G-League team, right?
Great video man
If they had an all you can eat buffet at the Pelicans arena Zion would be there right quick.
Man, every time I hear a player with a hamstring injury that just tells me that they have a lack of conditioning
Your reasoning is faulty
Something in the water or voodoo
AD has been struggling with that New Orleans Voodoo curse since he moved to the Lakers. He is just coming back from that curse last year.
With load management the way it is. There should be a lot more of these contracts
When a team has so many injuries, who do we blame? There is clearly something wrong with the players conditioning and the way they are preparing for the season.
Rotor - A rotating member of a machine, ROTATOR - A muscle serving to rotate a part of the body
1:53. "rotator cup" rotor cup tear. STRAIGHTEN UP BRUH😅
What’s going on with the playback?
All that being said, viewership of NBA is tanking. They need to back to basics, and everybody stop jacking up 3s.
"BACK TO THE BASICS!!!"
If CAA negotiated THAT contract, he did right by firing them. If not, whoever negotiated that contract should have been fired yesterday.
I like this type of contract. Injuries are a part of sport, but Zion clearly doesn't put in the efforts it takes to be great. Paying to sit on the sidelines and eat is ridiculous.
I'll say this: Zion's contract should start a pretty interesting conversation at the next CBA meeting.
Great video bro
Zion was expected to be the Pelicans franchise player. The expectations for him have fallen off a cliff.
I thought this was the Lowe post podcast. But I’m here for it
1:55 that damn rotor cuff
Thibs is one of the last coach Zion needs to play for. He’s put a lot of his top stars on injury status, due to big minutes.
@@grumpy2k876 lmao maybe cause god has nothing to do w anything
Great video big dog
If you swapped low and zion, the pelicans wouldnt be able to tell the difference
I thought dude left side of thumbnail was Zion for a second
If you had the chance to trade Anthony Davis when he no longer wants to play for your team and someone tells you that you can get Brandon Ingram, Dejounte Murray and CJ McCullom for him- I think you’d probably do that.
So...can other teams trade for him on the LESSER value that he's worth as per their 'games played' clause OR do they still have to consider him at his full contract value?
When you trade a player the contract goes with them.
SO technically NOP can cut him next year if he doesnt meet his weight clauses with a 0 to 7.8mil cap hit I think. So if he gets traded after failing his weight clauses then he will only have that 7.8mil cap hit to teams.
I don’t understand, Angel Reese is putting up similar numbers to Zion and she is considering one of the best rookies in the WNBA. Zion should be in the MVP race next year.
ALL NBA CONTRACTS NEED TO BE STRUCTURED LIKE THIS!
