Turns out 2K recently updated the game and ruined shot tendencies. It gets worse! Check out DannyThree’s video covering it: ruclips.net/video/IqKkJkhlVKg/видео.htmlsi=Tf5LH4QDPtGG2D32
Tendencies was ruined years ago where they had every PF and C taking 200+ 3s no matter how terrible the rating was. I had to have hours of editing just to get some good sim.
I am surprised to see this video. Let me out how much of a nerd I am. I have been playing basketball games since the early 90's. The thing is, I don't actually play them I find them easy to cheese and once you figure out the cheese, you just exploit it. Cranking up the difficulty just makes the computer AI never miss and nerfs your stats. Your player that is overall 80 is really overall 60 on max difficulty rating. The AI never improves in any way. So how I play these games is, I play franchise mode, and I simulate. Not in the simulate and watch the outcome way, but I simulate the game by moving the controller to the middle spot on the team select screen and watch the game play out. Let me share my findings with you. First of, my experience only goes up to NBA 2k20. It's the last game that I bought and since 2k just rehashes 90 percent of the game every year, many of these problems were in 2k20 and go back even further and are probably still in 2k25. The draft trading issue, is long standing. The free agency issue is long standing. The ratings bloating isn't in 2k20 but there were other problems with ratings. Player peaks. Some players would peak at 23 and hit their decline phase as early as 24. Also, I've adjusted what stats decay in the decline phase of player aging. Shooting, freethrow shooting, passing, awareness, those things don't decline. Rick Barry is in his 80's still shooting freethrows with his eyes closed. So I tweak that to decay athletic stats and stamina in the decline phase of a players career. Some things, can't be forced to happen no matter what you do when you watch a sim game play out. You can crank up feed the post to max. You can make your center your first option. You can set your teams offensive focus to feed the post. You can edit your center to have a 99 touches rating. You can alter the play book and hire whatever coach you want to get more post touches. You will never have a center that averages 20 PPG. Not Wilt, Not Shaq, Not Kareem. Nobody will do it. I tweak the hell out of sliders to try and even things out. That seems to kind of work, but only for a few seasons. I turn my teams rebounding down all the way, and the CPU up all the way (I've tried many iterations of this combination over the years) I also do the same with shot blocking. My center always leads the league in blocks, and is a great rebounder. Height and vertical is all that matters. Rodman is a terrible rebounder in this scenario. If I turn 3 point shooting up one point for the human team, Nobody shoots under 40 percent unless they are just bad. Good 3 point shooters will shoot over 50 percent. Also, you can never shoot anywhere near enough 3's to even qualify for the 3 point shooting contest. If I play a 30 game season, my leading 3 point shooter will have 40 3's on the season. Steals are also terrible. Nobody on my team is top 20 in steals. My PG's are the only ones that can steal over one steal per game and my teams, no matter who I am playing, lead the league in steals by double second place. Turnovers, No matter how much I crank that up, I can't make my team turn the ball over more than I steal from the CPU AI. I am always dead last in turnovers per game no matter what team I am playing. Another thing, that just popped up in the last 6 months on 2k20 (a game that hasn't been updated in years) Any player that I draft in the second round, is automatically unhappy. I could have them on the roster and give them regular playing time, it doesn't matter. I can tweak player happiness difficulty slider by moving it all the way down. Still, unhappy and wants to be traded or refuses to resign by the halfway point of the season. This was never an issue until about 6 months ago. I have no idea why this would change in a game that's been abandoned for years. 2k doing 2k things I guess. I suspect all of these issues still exist in 2k25 as they have been going on in 2k for years. I could go on and on, there is a lot to mention but I am already typing out a wall of text. In the age of AI, where the one practical use of AI learning could be applied to make a game better, 2k isn't using it, despite having a tremendous need for it. Coaching strategies that change to adapt to your play style. Hell the Dreamcast had that back in 2000. It was part of the marketing of the system. NBA games on the dream cast were the only ones that I couldn't cheese. I'm happy to see someone bring some attention to this. I know that I'm in an extreme minority in how I play NBA games, but the things that are effecting normal gamers are amplified for me and 2k has had some seriously bad design for a long time.
Honestly it's just as much microtransactions if not more Let's say you had competition -- no company _WANTS_ to be the one selling to people who "only" but the base game to play offline
MyNBA is impossible after 4 seasons because every player wants $25 million a year and even after lowering contract sliders, all 30 teams still can barely sign players.
@@MGBillionairethat defeats the purpose of trying to build the team. The whole point is trying to build the best team within the limits of a salary cap. What fun is it if you don't have to navigate the salary cap
Yeah, once we got to around 2K 22 it really started to get bad and especially since 23. It’s just been utterly terrible. Like soft drink said at least Madden teams don’t completely crippled their cap after a few seasons.
4:54 honestly this is starting to become a real problem in the actual NBA. Max contracts get handed out like candy and the average player either gets a huge deal or no deal. Look at what happened to Lonnie Walker this past offseason
Dawg Lonnie was signed to a stacked Celtics team & wasn’t getting anything more then a league minimum, this is just so wrong role players just get paid more now,
I remember back in the day when there were so many nba games...live, 2k, ballers, inside drive, Courtside, street, etc. To have one nba game now and it's trash is so depressing and the fact we gotta buy it by default to have a basketball experience is the saddest part.
Omg you're so correct 💯 I had all the basketball games going back to Sega Genesis. For pro football alone, I had Madden, QB club, gameday, and ESPN football. In college football I had NCAA, 2k, and the college gameday 989 version. Great times as a kid in sports gaming. I still play the old ones tbh
@@ibn1989not the same…Literally no one can make NFL or college football beside EA due to legal reasons..No-one is barred from making NBA games they just don’t
Yes they do. They know. They stopped balancing it and updating it after 2k18 to drive people into MyPlayer and MyTeam. On next gen they even put in the menu system from the mid 2000s while MT and MC still have the modern easy-to-navigate ones Even MyEras -- it's not close to fleshed out years latter. The whole thing was Frankensteined together specifically to quiet the noise from the MyNBA people and get good press
@@michaelahurt💯 1000% the mode doesn’t make them any money, and you know these companies they’ll purposely make it bad so you’ll go play a different mode.
The funniest thing for me (I'm still in the 90s) is the fact that the game keeps telling me to sign a assistant coach when the game doesn't give me the option lol
What makes it worse about the undervalue of 80 overalls from the devs is that almost all of the 80 overall players in the sim all expect 25-30 million dollar AVV contracts. So they didn't even bother changing up the simulation with how contract demands works, thats now outdated. So you'll see guys like Trey Murphy or Taylor Hendricks be stuck in free agency because no franchise can afford them with having no salary cap room, and also being over the luxury tax...
As someone who hasn’t played more than one or two seasons deep in a few years, I’m sick to hear it’s even worse lol. Also I almost physically gagged when I saw you run around in a suit while saying MyGM was back. Can we please dumb this game down and focus on basketball??
Nba2k is literally undergoing the same downfall as madden did 10 years ago for basically the same reasons. No competition and an unfortunate emphasis on pay to play modes....I used to get 2k on release day ever since 2k8. I haven't done it since 2k22.
@@GisherJohn24 yeah I wouldn’t put it past any billion dollar company to do that😂. Because this shit is ass I still have 2K 18 and 17. That i still prefer to play then newer. Iterations of the game.
@@Mptappin12 I busted out 2k11 today. Wow. Still amazing. Luckily we can go back and play the good ones as an option. I preferred the league back then anyway. Real basketball 💪
You’d literally have to play god for things to go right/realistically in a mynba save. Shouldn’t be necessary but I enjoy controlling everything and creating storylines every season
I always do one season at a time and play all 82 games. It takes a while so I always start a new one after that. It stops me from spending money on the game. They don’t always give the vc tho
They actually cut them by over 1/3 this year. There are only 40 total vs 65+ in past years. (Although they added a 5th level.) But it's not badges cause it's rotation players as much as stars. The ratings themselves are too high across the board. And the biggest issue is balance, especially for simulation. The badges make it so guards shoot better than bigs in sim but not in the actual games. They need to rebuild MyNBA from the ground up honestly.
It’s just 2K throwing out ratings without really thinking and it basically inflates the entire talent pool. The contract issues arise because default progression is bonkers so any player in that developmental phase will get big boosts to overall ratings over the course of a few years and 2K still has expected contract values operating based on overall almost exclusively
They have taken competitive gaming out of multi-player games, with predetermined out comes... you don't have user control anymore, like before... gaming company want the below average players to feel like they are good, which makes it difficult for the actual good players, so they won't get a blowout victory. Keep the game close in scoring. 2k basketball, madden, COD all does this.
This doesn’t even comment on the on court gameplay. 2K has removed a majority of the coach settings in the menus. But, according to Czar, they can’t remove the options or create a new pause menu because the code is so intertwined that it breaks the game. And that was something he stated at the launch of 2K22!! On court gameplay for the CPU has not been touched since 2K17. Their dev blogs get shorter and shorter every year. It’s a disgrace. They are now on the same level as Madden. It’s embarrassing.
The on court gameplay is just simply not true. They have cleaned up _a lot_ of stuff in the last few years. The big one being corners don't drop anymore. _Please_ go play 17 and 25 and tell me it's the same. Cause I have it's as much the same as cheesecake and pecan pie. They _are_ on the same level as Madden though. Maybe behind
@ The rotations are still broken. Czar himself has essentially said “they aren’t very good, but with our coding it’s the best we can get them to do.” Still see the CPU stand around and dribble the clock out, screen animations are too dramatic, can still manipulate corner help with STICK MOVEMENT lol. Not to mention that Pre-Rotate, Ice, Leave Him, all of the “focus on” stuff, is no longer in game despite the menu options still being there. Gameplay only reflects what they do in Park/Pro-Am.
After this summer, the only sports games I've played were 2k's MyEras and NCAA college football. And as much as I love MyEras, it's IMPOSSIBLE to play more than 5 years on the base sliders, you gotta seriously adjust contract, progression, and trade sliders to have a satisfactory immersive experience
I've hated these MyNBA issues for awhile now. We live in an age of AI and I'm still babysitting 30 teams so they don't hand 69 - Joe Simms a 1 Yr - $25 Million Contract
This is why I stopped playing the game 3 years ago. You have to control everything and edit contracts to make it feel good. Every coach philosophy is the same so that has to be edited too for a different feel. The coach hiring process was bad no team is firing 2-3 coaches a season and letting good ones go. Auto generated players in the draft look terrible so it makes the game not fun to sim and watch.
Actually this year it’s even worse cuz coach philosophies are horribly wrong. It has the modern Celtics playing at a slow pace with an emphasis on feeding the post…
That’s the only thing that I will give to them. NBA 2K 14 was one of the best and also looked the best, but to me when we jumped to the next generation of consoles, the graphics improved dramatically. If I look at something like NBA and compare it to that of MLB the show it’s not even close. Graphics are the one thing that I think is fine. It’s the fundamental stuff as mentioned in this video that it’s fixed.
@@youcreateyourownstory nah one thing people forget is how 2k changed the graphics after 2k22 for no apparent reason if you go back and play 21 and 22 the lighting in the arenas the court reflections look so much better in 21 and 22 compared to now
@@CMoorestacs playing on a old gen consoles? Playing in 4K at broadcast camera. You literally can’t even tell the difference unless you pay attention to the animations of times.
Lol MyNBA Mode has been broken for years. Instead of fixing the glitches, 2k spends most of its time catering to the online crowd. That's the way games are going today. Gran Turismo used to he about a love of cars, now it's an online racer that couldn't care less about the regular folk that made it an Uber successful franchise. The fact is that online gaming has killed sports games; whether it be Madden, 2k or Gran Turismo. It's all about the money now.
This is part of the reason I didn't buy 2K25. I've got all my sliders and settings saved in 2k24. And the game still features guys like John Wall and Blake who just got erased from 2K25.
If all players are great players then nobody is a great player 2KSports is so damn afraid of making players their real rating so they try to make every player look good
There's even more issues such as: Injuries have random dates to actually be healed (Such as players coming back weeks before their predicted recory date), Buggy team creation system because images will sometimes disappear completely from the selection menu, In the Steph Era (2016-17) the Cavs have their 2009 variant of the court while the 2017 version of the court is in the game files but yet just not used unless you manually do so, alternate jersey's are unusable in any other era but Modern even if the jersey existed in said era (Like the Orange and Blue OKC alternates in 2017) and so on.
I am in my 3rd WNBA seaons (which is oddly more fun than an NBA season) and I have noticed how broken it is too. Teams full of bum generated draft picks and a bunch of good unsigned free agents. Very bizarre.
@BoleDaPole Honestly I'm not sure cause it has a lot of the same issues as MyNBA. Lol. For me it's probably just that I'm not as close to it. I don't have the same level of knowledge so even if it's just as wrong, I don't _know_ how wrong it is like with the NBA Also not having dunking is surprisingly enjoyable
Honestly I'm buying CFB26 to have Missouri State on offline dynasty, but after that i may be going exclusively story games. None of the current games are worth the full price tag. I may still buy 2K or Madden/CFB if theyre on sale or the others if theyre free through PS+ but thats a maybe
CFB restored my faith in sports gaming, and it’s by no means perfect but it plays by far the best with minimal effort needing to be input on my end to make it enjoyable
Cause they know they only gotta develop their Ultimate team and online modes. 2K only puts money into MyTeam and MyCareer’s Park. EA only puts money into Ultimate team. Even San Diego Studios only really puts any effort into Diamond Dynasty. That’s what makes money now.
I’ve thought about these recent games having too many 80 overall players as well. It would be cool to compare that to how it was with 2k11. Seemed like there was barely any 80+ players.
Don't have 2k11 but in 2k7 it was 22 over 90 and 65 at 80+ (with 18 85+) Kobe, Bron and Wade all 98. Dirk 97. KG, Duncan and Brand 96. Also Amar'e (93) and Marion (92) were higher than Nash (91) which is funny
Didn't go as deep but made a video a few days ago covering mainly the decline in Madden and making some comparisons to 2k which is at least a little less broken, really inspired by all that you've done. Keep up the great work!
I love how in nba live 19 players earn “badges” based off how they perform in games and earn xp you can spend on individual stats if the rosters were more customizeable i would never play 2k again.
As a recommendation, PopBoy's sliders (both gameplay and MyNBA ones) work really well with the Attention To Detail roster. The sliders have different sets for each difficulty, including a Beyond HOF difficulty and the roster has all the ratings and potentials adjusted so as to avoid the overall inflation, among other gameplay improvements such as sig animation updates, realistic rosters, fully accurate playbooks, etc. With this combination, the AI actually runs realistic sets and is competitive without cheating.
@wesleygriffin7857 all three, both the roster and sliders are on 2K Share. If you Google them you'll find PopPoy's channel and an operation sports forum for the roster.
This is the only mode I ever play. And all I do is create my own players. Back in 2k20 I created a highschool, college, euro, and Olympic league just to put all my players through it. Can barely do it on this game because the servers for it keeps keeping me out 2k.
Same. I took over all 36 (added the expansion teams) rosters and created storylines. I've been doing that since 2k10. I'm considering not getting 2k25 because of all the problems I've heard about and considering I download DNA from the servers to give my players their playstyle that could end up being bad for me.
@ lol I think I started doing it on 2k12. I was playing 2k20 this entire time. But I couldn’t download anything anymore, so I decided to get 25. Do you create the same players year after year?
@@7ailure mostly they're people i know, so yeah, although sometimes I'll switch their playstyles or positions. It turns very interesting when brothers or cousins face off.
What do you mean, do you have to be online to play mynba? I always turn off my internet when I buy the game every year @ $6 bucks and never had a problem.
@gridironghost5887 so you don't have to if you limit yourself to two or three expansion teams. (past this you have to enable online saves) But on each successive game they remove the previous year's online access at a certain point to make sure you buy that year's model.
I love MyNBA for the most part. I always play it when I get bored or tired of playing online. But for the past few years, I haven’t played more than 1 or 2 seasons on it because all of the rosters and contracts go to 💩. It’s just too much of a headache to deal with.
The roster inflation portion where you mention the 120 players rated 80-90 overall really resonated with me. I haven’t purchased the last two NBA 2K games, and when I reviewed the roster for the latest installment, I was astonished by the number of players rated 80-90. It immediately made me think about how the great 2K games you referenced weren’t as watered down. There are simply too many above-average players now
Dude thank you for making this. All I play is the MyNBA mode. I enjoy building teams and doing fantasy drafts etc. They completely left us out to dry this year. SOOO many glitches in MyNBA mode. Took them months to fix the defensive settings glitch where it reset every time a timeout was called. They still haven’t added Broadcast view to the practice screen so I can’t even comfortably practice jump shots. Salaries out of whack, generated rookies are terrible. It’s clear they only care about the dumb park and MyPlayer.
the ps2 was my first console and I never would of thought that in 2024 almost 2025 that the games I was playing back then would be better than the games im playing now on my ps5
I start at the kobe era every year and it is frustrating and annoying that i have to basically manually adjust tendencies or change so many things because the game can tell which era its in and kobe and lebron shouldn’t just be chucking 12 threes a game in 2005.. or if im in the jordan era i dont want to have to watch and constantly check to see if jordan is playing like jordan when the devs claim that the whole attribute system is based off him.. then why is he always a scrub unless i step in Ronnie!!!!!😭
Simulation is atrocious the longer it is, I agree. I have workarounds about it though, through custom sliders, global roster editing with attributes and tendencies etc. But still, the effort to tweak everything is tedious. They don't care about the offline mode, and this is the only mode I play
Bought NBA 2K25 during the last Steam Sale because it was the first PC edition to include MyEras. Tapped out after a few days playing that feature. Definitely agree here -- even if you remove the salary cap and babysit each and every team, there will be too many good free agents left unsigned on opening day. Oftentimes they'll remain unsigned for several seasons. (Prime Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas unsigned for 3 whole seasons in one sim -- how would that even be possible IRL?) And it doesn't take long before expansion teams become superpowered and practically unstoppable as they snap up those free agents. It's sad, really. Doesn't matter if it's 2K or EA Sports -- they'll always prioritize the features that bring them the most $$$ while leaving their franchise modes to rot.
I have a MyLeague save file I go back to every now and then on 2K19 and it’s honestly sad that 6 years later, the same issues that plagued MyLeague back then are still there now in MyNBA. It makes no sense why I have to manually control all 30 teams just to make sure they don’t do anything ridiculous in free agency.
Love the time, thought, and details you put in your videos! You should do a deep dive into the EA BIG Franchise from 2000-2008! Another nostalgic time when especially sports game had some heart and soul! Such nostalgia for me from NFL Streets,NBA Streets,Def Jam series,SSX tricky,....etc. Alot of memories connected to those titles and times but they sure won't make em like they used to!
Fantastic video and 100% agree. MYGM is the worst mode ever now btw, I collected like 35 first round picks to use as trade bait and signed Luka yet still got fired💀
I’d argue that NHL 25’s Franchise Mode has caught up to NBA 2K’s in many ways with all of the updates they’ve added this year regarding player development and coaching. It’s still not a perfect game mode but it is certainly becoming more fleshed out.
What’s crazy is that I’m just like you . I grew up doing franchises . Micro transactions have ruined that. What these companies don’t understand is that I WOULD PAY MORE MONEY for a competent sports franchise option .
As someone who plays a lot of MyNBA, thank you for making this video. You really need to babysit all 30 teams in order to get any kind of a realistic result out of this mode. Otherwise you’ll get all kinds of insanely illogical and immersion breaking roster moves.
Ya it’s so frustrating these sports game have a 0-99 overall scale and they give out way too many 80+ players. The only modern sports game I play once and while is NHL. I only play gm mode and it’s frustrating how McDavid cant even break 100 points most years even after giving him all 99s because you can only make him so much better than the other players.
One of the biggest problems in this game (and past 2Ks) is also realism. There’s no reason why 8 seed upsets happen so often. And teams like Brooklyn shouldn’t be winning the championship in the second year of the simulation, all while teams like Boston and Denver completely fall off a cliff. Also only having 6 slots to include players and picks to trade makes going all in for a superstar player or trading your star for a haul to start a rebuild almost impossible.
Thank you so much for pointing this out softdrink, I feel alone in expressing this topic because it seems like no one else cares. Even though this video likely won’t do anything about the problems in the game, I’m glad a big RUclipsr finally pointed it out.
this is just the tip of the iceberg as someone who has been playing this mode since it was called The Association. you hit most of the major issues of this game mode but there are a ton more features missing or that are broken
The issue is the "potential" stat category in the game. Old 2k's had rookies with low potential, new 2k's rookies have high. They need something new created to go with "potential," like the relationship with "speed" and "speed with ball" or "speed" and "agility."
Please man. Post this everywhere. I've been saying this for years. You will see the same bugs like the ability NOT to be able to sign a free agent, that's a created player. No real enhancements and the sliders are just too much work. This really the only mode me and my boys play. Been playing online association for about 10 years and this mode just does not get the love it deserves. But, there is no competition so I don't know what else to do.
Was hoping for another video from you soon. While I don't own a current gen console(ps5), I very much enjoy all your videos and seeing how you keep it real. I own a ps4 and others but I find myself playing NHL Legacy on PS3 more than anything the past few months. It's a slept on game but I feel the last sports game on the older generation is often times far better than the first (same) sports game on the next console. I heard NHL 15 for PS4 was horrible. I see 2k has gone the direction of EA which is sad. Keep telling it like it is SDTV.
Ran into a weird stat glitch where everyone in the league was averaging 15-24 points nothing over that. Super frustrating when I had 2 90+ players that should be scoring the ball.
I still play 2k23 right now and personally I love it. Way better than madden. Youre right about everything. I play the sim extremely slow, and meticulously help craft/adjust each and every player, prospect, and team to be realistic. Sadly there is also a bug if you import certain draft classes that ruins the stat-keeping so I have to create every player for every draft. I spend a couple months per season but if I tried to play through quickly it’d be impossible
thanks for this i've had a mynba sim i started in the magic era and have made it to like 2037 and now it jus wont sim anymore its so frustrating i put so much time into building that franchise and i cna't even play anymore
Sim 5 years into your save, and your 10th man will be like an 83 or 84. The progression is insane. I know there are sliders for it, but theyre so hard to perfect.
You can trade drafted players and you can put swaps on traded picks. Granted, it only works if you use trade finder which in itself is a problem… but it’s in the game.
i swear to god i had one save where like 3 or 4 years in VICTOR WEMBANYAMA was sitting unsigned in free agency, i was the pelicans and traded brandon ingram to the spurs and like 2 years later the spurs didn’t have any cap and literally chose brandon ingram over wemby i wish i was lying
Taking away the option to hire your coaching staff ruined everything for me… loved making myself an assistant coach and working my way up to head coach
I’m glad somebody has said it. This is exactly why I stopped buying the game. The menu for my career is too complicated, trade and signing logic is broken and it hasn’t gotten any better. It’s been pretty much the same since NBA 2K9. Back then I could accept it cuz they were really old games but this is 2024. If you can’t improve that in 15 years, that’s a huge issue.
I go all the way back to the very first, NBA2K on the Sega Dreamcast. It's completely devastating what this series turned into. I never bought another 2K since NBA 2K19.
The contract one is actually probably one of the worst parts of my nba. You have have players who aren’t even getting offered half of what they demand in 2k. That itself breaks the whole league system right there
I don’t know if it’s funny or sad that franchise mode in Madden 25 is more playable than MyNBA in NBA 2K25 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. At what point did 2K drop to EA level?
My perspective is one as a franchise-mode player in every sports game I have played since childhood. Franchise mode is for nerds who only want to pay $60 a year. Every minute spent playing franchise mode is a minute not playing a monetized game mode. No one on twitch playing franchise mode. No youtube series following franchise mode stories (except you, UGF Pandas, you're cool). Franchise mode enjoyers are second-class citizens, and that's not going to change soon unless the game is designed around it. Maybe someday football and basketball will have their own OOTP.
A couple days ago, i bought a used of 2k17 for 8 bucks. I've been playing mycareer. Granted, it's offline now so no servers and everything is stripped down ish. But it's still much more fun to just have a player that's "just a ball player" to quote Jake Taylor. No neighborhood, no running around, no quests, etc. Just basketball. Just my take but i agree with you that 2k needs to go back to NBA basketball.
My biggest critique of the nba games is the devalue of ratings. Why the hell are bench warmers 80+? Back in the day the roster was filled with players rating between 60-75 and that made way more sense and made the 90+ players have value
The auto progression of players season by season is largely what made this unplayable for me the last 3-4 years. With no fluctuation of player ratings, my leagues always became watered down and boring. I can mess with sliders, but I don’t want to have to go into each player and adjust their shot tendency to mimic real life. I might not have to pay for it with money, but I definitely have with my time, which is largely why I haven’t bought the last two
Turns out 2K recently updated the game and ruined shot tendencies. It gets worse! Check out DannyThree’s video covering it: ruclips.net/video/IqKkJkhlVKg/видео.htmlsi=Tf5LH4QDPtGG2D32
Tendencies was ruined years ago where they had every PF and C taking 200+ 3s no matter how terrible the rating was. I had to have hours of editing just to get some good sim.

They stopped balancing it and updating it after 2k18 to drive people into MyPlayer and MyTeam.
On next gen they even put in the menu system from the mid 2000s while MT and MC still have the modern easy-to-navigate ones
Even MyEras -- it's not close to fleshed out years latter. The whole thing was Frankensteined together specifically to quiet the noise from the MyNBA people and get good press
@michaelahurt gotcha
@@michaelahurt💯 1000% the mode doesn’t make them any money, and you know these companies they’ll purposely make it bad so you’ll go play a different mode.

@IcE_718 I've noticed every time we get what we want they take something of value away from us.
NBA 2K14 still one of the best basketball games.

They don’t always give the vc tho
the ratings thing is because of badges, back then 10+ badges was a lot now if you're a 95 you probably have 45+ badges
They actually cut them by over 1/3 this year. There are only 40 total vs 65+ in past years. (Although they added a 5th level.)
But it's not badges cause it's rotation players as much as stars.
@@legendmrsinful94932k has relationships with athletes. It isn't going to create a game that doesn't stroke their egos.

that's straight up not true
2K is still relatively far better, compared to past 2Ks?? Sure
To sports gaming??? No
2k is light years ahead of Madden
madden is a decade behind at least
They have taken competitive gaming out of multi-player games, with predetermined out comes... you don't have user control anymore, like before... gaming company want the below average players to feel like they are good, which makes it difficult for the actual good players, so they won't get a blowout victory. Keep the game close in scoring. 2k basketball, madden, COD all does this.
The algo is real and it can hurt you
🎯💯
Czar himself has essentially said “they aren’t very good, but with our coding it’s the best we can get them to do.”
Still see the CPU stand around and dribble the clock out, screen animations are too dramatic, can still manipulate corner help with STICK MOVEMENT lol.
Not to mention that Pre-Rotate, Ice, Leave Him, all of the “focus on” stuff, is no longer in game despite the menu options still being there.
Gameplay only reflects what they do in Park/Pro-Am.
Not the same level as madden. Nowhere close. Yall take 2k for granted in a lot of ways

3:26 Otis Wembanyama 😂😂😂

If all players are great players then nobody is a great player
2KSports is so damn afraid of making players their real rating so they try to make every player look good
1:35 - My eyes are bleeding.
WNBA was even better the last few years cause of the player model scaling
But I completely agree. It's surprisingly fun.
Why is it better? I've never played 2k25
@BoleDaPole Honestly I'm not sure cause it has a lot of the same issues as MyNBA. Lol.
For me it's probably just that I'm not as close to it. I don't have the same level of knowledge so even if it's just as wrong, I don't _know_ how wrong it is like with the NBA

CFB restored my faith in sports gaming, and it’s by no means perfect but it plays by far the best with minimal effort needing to be input on my end to make it enjoyable
I don’t understand with the level of tech we have in this worlds Sports game developers still find a way to make a trash game. 💀💀💀
Don't have 2k11 but in 2k7 it was 22 over 90 and 65 at 80+ (with 18 85+)
Kobe, Bron and Wade all 98.

@gridironghost5887 so you don't have to if you limit yourself to two or three expansion teams. (past this you have to enable online saves) But on each successive game they remove the previous year's online access at a certain point to make sure you buy that year's model.

It’s sad how they can get over on us
The roster inflation portion where you mention the 120 players rated 80-90 overall really resonated with me. I haven’t purchased the last two NBA 2K games, and when I reviewed the roster for the latest installment, I was astonished by the number of players rated 80-90. It immediately made me think about how the great 2K games you referenced weren’t as watered down. There are simply too many above-average players now

Yes it’s broken. They were ahead and slacked off
I have a MyLeague save file I go back to every now and then on 2K19 and it’s honestly sad that 6 years later, the same issues that plagued MyLeague back then are still there now in MyNBA. It makes no sense why I have to manually control all 30 teams just to make sure they don’t do anything ridiculous in free agency.

Fantastic video and 100% agree. MYGM is the worst mode ever now btw, I collected like 35 first round picks to use as trade bait and signed Luka yet still got fired💀
Fr, shit is unplayable
This is my comfort channel
Ya it’s so frustrating these sports game have a 0-99 overall scale and they give out way too many 80+ players. The only modern sports game I play once and while is NHL. I only play gm mode and it’s frustrating how McDavid cant even break 100 points most years even after giving him all 99s because you can only make him so much better than the other players.
Bring the fun back bruh
When taking the time to do your own sliders top to bottom it's the best game mode in sports games
this is just the tip of the iceberg as someone who has been playing this mode since it was called The Association. you hit most of the major issues of this game mode but there are a ton more features missing or that are broken
Do a retrospective on Kobe Bryant, courtside
The first one on the N64 brings great memories
The issue is the "potential" stat category in the game.
Old 2k's had rookies with low potential, new 2k's rookies have high.
They need something new created to go with "potential," like the relationship with "speed" and "speed with ball" or "speed" and "agility."
5:16 most NBA teams have huge roster holes they ignore. Like Golden State hasnt had a good 7 footer in like 15 years.

It's a slept on game but I feel the last sports game on the older generation is often times far better than the first (same) sports game on the next console. I heard NHL 15 for PS4 was horrible.
I see 2k has gone the direction of EA which is sad. Keep telling it like it is SDTV.
The points you made within the last couple mins of the video were 🎯
Ran into a weird stat glitch where everyone in the league was averaging 15-24 points nothing over that.
Have you played more sim-focused games like Football Manager?
i swear to god i had one save where like 3 or 4 years in VICTOR WEMBANYAMA was sitting unsigned in free agency, i was the pelicans and traded brandon ingram to the spurs and like 2 years later the spurs didn’t have any cap and literally chose brandon ingram over wemby i wish i was lying
That itself breaks the whole league system right there
My nephew is obsessed with these games 😞 if only he knew what we once had
Rookie Lebron was rated 78, and everyone thought he was the next Jordan, but Rookie Dalton Knecht is 80. Stats inflation is a major issue
Back in the day the roster was filled with players rating between 60-75 and that made way more sense and made the 90+ players have value
when are you gonna cover FIFA/EAFC career mode on your channel?
The auto progression of players season by season is largely what made this unplayable for me the last 3-4 years. With no fluctuation of player ratings, my leagues always became watered down and boring. I can mess with sliders, but I don’t want to have to go into each player and adjust their shot tendency to mimic real life. I might not have to pay for it with money, but I definitely have with my time, which is largely why I haven’t bought the last two
