By now it is far too late for a boycott, because there is a whole new generation of players that are literally kids that don’t care about quality of the game. It's not about playing sweats it's about a balance. When you play pub matches SBMM is stupid. You play pubs because you don't want to have to sweat out every single match you play. If you want that you go play ranked. That is the whole reason of having a ranked mode you can play if you want be play every single match competitively. When you hop into rec you should have chill games where you can just have fun and not have to try your absolute hardest every single match.

I have to say, not buying new games has saved me so much money and joy. I can go to GameStop and get God of War: Ragnarok used in good condition for $20, GOW (2018) for $15, and a ton of great games on the PS Store for less than $20. I would much rather spend my money on a good game and have fun than get stressed out of my mind paying $150 to get a 99 overall on top of already spending $70 for the base. $220 just so that you can play little Timmy who has unlimited access to his parents’ credit card and who somehow sleeps with your mom every night.
I did something similar in 2023 when the fam went on a week long vacation. I bought a series x and spent 20 dollars to buy at least 5 or 6 used video games from gamestop and amazon combined.
This the first time in 20 years of gaming I finally felt the rage of wanting to break something in front of me and/ or punch something after going 0/6 in the rec all open, but dropped 30 the previous game. (5'9 & 97 three)
@InfamousText One other thing that might be a factor. My build is a Two Way Pass First Big Man C. I never take jump shots, rebound and pass well, and never miss layups. Sounds like the build is built for a game that punishes great shooters

That's what I normally do after 3 months of raging because at the end of the day; I still love basketball and it's the only simulation we have right now. I also suggest maybe buy the game when you can get it for dirt cheap to borderline free. I never paid full price for a 2k game since 2k20. The only reason why I got this one so early is because my girlfriend got it for me as a birthday gift.

That's what I can't stand, why is it when I try drive to the paint they go this LONG LOOP AROUND to the side of the paint to take a layup and half the time it forces me to take a close mid range instead of a layup it feel's horrible and is my main complaint.

A screener will set a screen, to free up the ball handler and the ball handler would rather drive out in a half circle, when comin off the screen. What aggravates me so much about it is that, it will be so much floor spacing between the rim and ball handler. NO DEFENDER will even be in the floor spacing and you could have an EASY opportunity to score. But naw, the damn game controls you to where, your ball handler will drive out wide. Helping the defense recover at times smh. Like that make NO SENSE AT ALL smh. The shooting is worse in this game, but the movement in this game, is something that CAN NOT be missed. It's HORRIBLE. Feel sluggish, so delayed, feel like you being pulled by a magnet. It's just crazy how they thought it was ok to release this game and ignore alot of flaws.

I agree with almost everything. The playing sweats all the time can't really be fixed if you are a highly skilled player. For you to be matched up against lesser opponents so you don't sweat means the less skilled player now have to sweat playing against you. Its crap and everyone has issues with Skill Based MMR but there doesn't seem to be a resolution for as long as there is a huge difference with skill gaps between players (to be expected in everything). I had 2k for 2 days and got a refund. I have been playing since 2k11 and am burnt out. The money grab, being hardlined in with 800 mbps but still getting kicked. Everyone constantly arguing. Im over it. Went back to college football, shooters and started finishing single player games i forgot about. With no 2k gaming suddenly became fun again
I get what you’re saying and I understand the frustration. For me, it’s just a video game. I have fun winning or losing. I play a few games a day, then I get off and get back to my priorities and don’t have a second thought how the game went. But I understand that many people find their identities in videos games.
Bro after watching your video I had to reply. This years 2k is the first one I've bought on release day and wanted to grind in years. So I did that. I created my PG with 92 3points. I learned which animations are the best for me. I grinded out my points and I'm up to 93. I am garbage and it's not fun. I can't shoot 3 pointers. I am so disappointed.
This my last 2k gonna have to hang it. They drop a mediocre game on top of it being expensive to play. You're paying $170 base to "enjoy" the game and it's simply not worth it anymore

You've been playing since 2k16...which is MORE than long enough to know that you're playing an objectively broken game...so buying VC isn't the issue and doesn't make much sense. All of a sudden, on the big 2k25...everybody just simultaneously created a bad build that is sooooo bad that the entire game is unplayable? Highly unlikely. The game is just terrible lol.
No. To mention the game gives you low amounts of VC for playthrough and put the most of it in online stuff. I have the standard edition, crazy there's 2 different tiers for rewards a "Premium" and a "Standard" I've grinded all the way to level 80 which has taken me a week. And they also locked the big amounts in my career behind stewpid missions like become the goat and get more rings than MJ that's ridiculous how many seasons to play through for.that.
I feel like everything single player I’ve played has made improvements. The actual nba side of mycareer had some huge quality of life improvements imo. In that context too the changes in shooting don’t annoy me as much. If anything it makes getting mvp and what not feel like a challenge if im not trying to be a ball hog. You can ask out on key games and the fact that you can choose them and are rewarded for them is nice. Badge progression obviously improved but the amount of improvement you get from drills is great. Story elements are watchable lol. As someone who works and comes home to turn my mind off playing super casual 2k I’m having a blast.
Literally in rec random there is no Communication and everyone on my team is missing their shots but the other team is hitting all their 3’s playing defense while my team looks like a middle school team playing
and the stamina complaint is a typical gacha game aspect they don’t care if you’re having fun as long as you do the mundane stuff that keep people on the game for playtime
So glad I didn’t buy 2K25. I stopped having fun with it a few years ago but kept buying it in hopes that it would get better. I’m having so much fun playing other games.

You should wait a while before buying to see real reviews in my opinion because the first month or so is the honeymoon phase where everyone loves the game and says nothing bad. We’re starting to get out of that now and most people are agreeing the game is bad 😂
It really is a shame, there are so many problems with it but I genuinely believe it had potential. The builder, new modes, rebirth to 99, etc were good but just too many silly design flaws that a toddler could have told them would be an issue 😂

I'm feeling quite relieved that I decided to retire from 2K. The last game I bought and really committed myself to was 2K19. Unfortunately, I've noticed a significant decline in the quality of the game since then. It seems like the focus has shifted to making as much money as possible. I mean, a season pass for a basketball game? It's pretty clear that they're just trying to take advantage of the fans. While I believe 2K is overcharging, everyone has their own perspective. 100% I think with online there's only so much they can do because ultimately one group or another will be pissed -- they can't make everyone happy -- but the AI of CPU teammates is something that has no right to be as bad as it is for as long as it's been. Especially when you see how smart the CPU AI is in terms of cutting & spacing on offense and helping & rotating on defense

They have gaslighted people into thinking their players are broken with this "rhythm shooting" which is actually just a fancy name for a busted new jump shot mechanic that they had NO desire or intention of ever making it work like it was advertised. Once in a while, you come across someone on Reddit or Twitter that thinks they're "comp" and will say it's a skill issue. Sorry, but RNG impacting jump shooting is the furthest thing from a skill issue.🤣 Broken shooting mechanics that are objectively broken are also, in fact, NOT the proponents of skill issue. I can't be the only one that noticed everybody that enjoys this game currently has either paid for VC for their player builds and/or are the exact same bootlickers that say how great 2K is every year. The RNG is only on low and medium risk. On high risk the green window is just small unless you use no meter rhythm shooting. But it's not RNG. Which animation you trigger isn't random. But it *IS* harder. And shooting percentages are closer to real life. That was the point. That you couldn't shoot 60% with a 72 three ball.

Now that I’m ranked in the second highest division in both games, I can no longer play casually unless I play trash to demote myself lower so I won’t play sweats all the time. A screener will set a screen, to free up the ball handler and the ball handler would rather drive out in a half circle, when comin off the screen. What aggravates me so much about it is that, it will be so much floor spacing between the rim and ball handler. NO DEFENDER will even be in the floor spacing and you could have an EASY opportunity to score. But naw, the damn game controls you to where, your ball handler will drive out wide. Helping the defense recover at times smh. Like that make NO SENSE AT ALL smh. The shooting is worse in this game, but the movement in this game, is something that CAN NOT be missed. It's HORRIBLE. Feel sluggish, so delayed, feel like you being pulled by a magnet. It's just crazy how they thought it was ok to release this game and ignore alot of flaws.

I agree with almost everything. The playing sweats all the time can't really be fixed if you are a highly skilled player. For you to be matched up against lesser opponents so you don't sweat means the less skilled player now have to sweat playing against you. Its crap and everyone has issues with Skill Based MMR but there doesn't seem to be a resolution for as long as there is a huge difference with skill gaps between players (to be expected in everything). I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing!

I have the standard edition, crazy there's 2 different tiers for rewards a "Premium" and a "Standard" I've grinded all the way to level 80 which has taken me a week.
And they also locked the big amounts in my career behind stewpid missions like become the goat and get more rings than MJ that's ridiculous how many seasons to play through for.that.

I feel like everything single player I’ve played has made improvements. The actual nba side of mycareer had some huge quality of life improvements imo. In that context too the changes in shooting don’t annoy me as much. If anything it makes getting mvp and what not feel like a challenge if im not trying to be a ball hog. You can ask out on key games and the fact that you can choose them and are rewarded for them is nice. Badge progression obviously improved but the amount of improvement you get from drills is great. Story elements are watchable lol. As someone who works and comes home to turn my mind off playing super casual 2k I’m having a blast.

2K and Take-Two have reached a level that should not be forgiven with NBA2K25. They have gaslighted people into thinking their players are broken with this "rhythm shooting" which is actually just a fancy name for a busted new jump shot mechanic that they had NO desire or intention of ever making it work like it was advertised. Once in a while, you come across someone on Reddit or Twitter that thinks they're "comp" and will say it's a skill issue. Sorry, but RNG impacting jump shooting is the furthest thing from a skill issue.🤣 Broken shooting mechanics that are objectively broken are also, in fact, NOT the proponents of skill issue.
I can't be the only one that noticed everybody that enjoys this game currently has either paid for VC for their player builds and/or are the exact same bootlickers that say how great 2K is every year. People I know that NEVER spend extra money on this game are considering buying VC. I told them just like I'm telling yall in here right now: Don't do it. Don't spend extra money on a broken game.
Your build will be *fine* even if the badge/attribute/VC grind is torture and gives you headaches. And if you don't want to grind and would rather spend your time on literally ANYTHING else, I think that would be the most wise idea one could make in regards to NBA2K25. The RNG is only on low and medium risk.
On high risk the green window is just small unless you use no meter rhythm shooting. But it's not RNG. Which animation you trigger isn't random.
But it *IS* harder. And shooting percentages are closer to real life. That was the point. That you couldn't shoot 60% with a 72 three ball.
Funny thing about " *Rhythm Shooting* " is it was a badge at 1st in 2k22 or 20 I forgot but I know it was one of those games.
