What robot? The green window on 23 or 24 is multiples larger than 16 or 17 and the green window is way bigger if you have high ratings and badges It's purely cosmetic. Green or miss had no impact on gameplay. Although they did bump up the difficulty sliders to create a larger skill gap. That was a separate thing

I forget which game, like 14 or 16 or something but you could trigger a finishing badge on fadeaway threes. It was ridiculous I've been saying for years that the game should be split in three parts though. MyCareer, MyTeam and single player all need their own gameplay engines. The player base is just too good and will exploit even the smallest irregularities

Green or miss is good in theory FOR MYCAREER with a set jump shot….but if you’re playing a game where over 200+ players have different jumpshots it’s frustrating af! And at this point they need to make a MyCareer offline option with the same features but for players who want a storyline and to just jump in, hoop and grind to 99

I think its the same problem as fifa, when pes was still a thing fifa games was actually good, they had competition, since nba live 19 from todays 2k, the game quality just decreased, i think having some competition make them make a easier and funniest game for the general comunity

My teenage kid is a huge basketball fan. We got this and were completely lost. We couldn't just jump into a fun game. So much bloat and garbage. Totally worthless. He went back to playing on a mobile game.
The city is just a giant advertisement, which is why they'll never get rid of it. The city is there to advertise all the different brands in the game. Nike, gatorade, Ruffles, adiddas, etc. 2k makes so much money off of those ads that the city is here to stay. They can tweak it at most. Maybe make things closer together, but the real point of the city is to advertise.
And the city means you have to see all the online players, which are those that bought VC and are 99 overalls dripped out in mascot costumes. And if you think this is cool and you want to queue on a court with them, then you’re probably not even going to get into a match being a 60 overall, so you buy VC. Then they got the stupid motor scooters and stuff that make you run faster. Pretty sure that costs VC too.

I stopped playing after 2K19 because i just felt burnt out. By the time I felt like playing 2K again, they had gone to next gen and i play on PC which doesnt get next gen games. I've heard 2K25 will be next gen on PC, so im considering buying it. But man everytime i think about having to pay for the game and a character it makes me not want to.

It’s to get you to play online. If you’re exposed to online players walking around the city and seeing them play, then you’re watching everyone else who bought VC and is a 99 overall. And no one wants to queue up with you if you’re a 60 overall, so you have to buy VC. Everything 2K has put into the game is to try to get you to spend more money.

To be honest Kobe didn't really have many "MJ" moments in the playoffs, GW shot against PHX and DET are the only ones I can remember but generally speaking Kobe's playoff prowless was truly a fraction to that of MJ.

I’m taking green or miss over people getting rewarded for miss timing their release and being able to be knockdown with a 60 overall 3 pointer (2 way slashing playmakers) The game is pure RNG tho when it comes to loose balls, offensive rebounds, and out of bounds animations

@@WhoJahBless The reason they made shooting skill based is because it was way too easy. Shooting a bounce back late and still making shots is to easy and eliminates skill gap. Also they made you miss random shots WIDE OPEN shots because of RNG. You can also be knockdown with a 60 3 pointer which creates imbalance in the game. I think we better off with green or miss with an actual anti cheat for zen users and a severe buff to defense. The people who actually practice and know their jumpshot que should be rewarded not bounce back shooters. The only time I get different jump shot timing is when I shoot contested shots. All the other 2ks there were a couple jump shot bases Lamarcus Aldridge and Rudy gay were dominate bases for years
Main issues I got with 2k 1-Bring back offline game modes 2-enough with the micro transactions (greed) 3- normal player evolution. I might as well be dreaming cause take2 is a money hungry machine. So ✌🏾nba 2k.

The biggest thing I hate is when I see/know a screen is there, I go on the outside, because I know the ballhandler is driving, I come anywhere near the screeners hit box, I hug the guy, and slowly wrap myself around the inside. The dribbler has gotten around and has either shot or layed the ball up by that time. If yall are going to MAKE me touch the screener with an animation, keep me on the same side as where I am.
I had time to grind when I was in hs but now it’s ridiculous it gets to a point where you have to do cringy quest and play 3-4 games just to get a single upgrade literally UNLESS you buy vc. Nowadays I’m strictly a play now player.

Cant really blame them for making shooting harder its what the community asked for 2k22 had people hitting whites really often and now you dont hit whites very often and people are still complaining. But i feel like the biggest problem with 2k is them making dribbling slower and stiffer every year instead of expanding on the dribbling and movement of the game. Ever since 2k19 the dribbling has just gotten worse and worse and to make one build takes 300k vc 😭.
I haven't bought or paid full AAA price for a sports video since f**king FIFA 19 and 2K19. Since then i've played the subsequent iterations of FIFA and NBA 2K for "free" from subscriptions or for less than $10 and they have all been garbage. I got it on steam the other day because it was on mega sale. I’ve never (seriously) played another nba game. I’m loving it. Building a dynasty in MyLeague and doing some quick play offline is fun. I’m not interested in the MyCareer. For me, it was a solid buy. Graphics are pretty shit though
I only watched about 10+ minutes of your video but you are 100% correct about how bad the game feels for a new player or a player coming back. I stopped playing 2k in 2019 but did experience 2k20 and 21. I actually got 2k21 free and uninstalled it the same day because of how bad the gameplay was. Now for 2k24, they nerf everything to favor online play and microtransactions. If you haven't put hundreds of hours into this game over the last few years or have the reflexes of a tennis player in your thumbs shot timing and dribble combos or hard as sh*t. They do this by design to get you to spend money on VC for badges and skills upgrades. People who cry about the "skills gap" were outraged that casuals could still green a jumper in their face. It was like playing Mortal Kombat with your friends back in the day and your mom made you let your little sister play and she's beating everybody with low kicks and sweeps. So you can have a 60 3pt shot and still shoot but you have to have like 3 to 5 badges enabled. That's not a "skills gap", that's pay to win. So I gave 2k24 a shot this year just because of how big of a Kobe fan I was. I don't play online so I was buying the game just for Kobe and MyCareer modes. I played for a couple of months just to get my player to 70 overall and about 15 badges ( no money spent) and was finally able to shoot, but the game still wasn't fun to play. If you're not here for the online experience this game isn't worth playing. The gameplay feels poor and unbalanced. Playing around with sliders doesn't even help.
Tbh the shooting system this year is amazing in my opinion. I haven’t played 2k since 2k20 but I was always somewhat a competitive type of player so upon returning I shoot 75% from 3 and I love the fact that you can hit basically any shot as long as you time it correctly it gives a real life aspect to shooting. Tbh shooting might even be too easy this year but yeah I personally love the shooting system

@@CesarPerez-ul7zw that’s kinda around the time I stopped playing, so I’m kinda new to the style of 2k’s after like 20. People have told me the same tho. Turn the meter off, and practice a jumper until I figure out my shot. I’ve tried playing the earlier 2k’s that didn’t have Shot meter, but the shooting feels a bit different compared to now.
the shot meter takes the attention of the user off of the shot animations. You get so hung up on checking a thermostat instead of enjoying the fluidity and position of the players
It’s been mandatory green for like two years now and it suck ass… turning the meter off helps you slightly but the green meter changes so much depending on the defense and the moves to set it up the shot it’s hard to get it a flow sometimes. I don’t play the city but I like the career mode. The AI on your team is usually ass and the computer doesn’t miss shit until the 4th quarter. It’s like you have to go shot for shot or you’re definitely gonna lose.

OK, I remember I used to shoot three-pointers with Shaq. NBA 2K has been that game since day one. It was just recently the kind of change in course or lack of something that did not motivate the fan base to pick up the 2K games, but overall I preferred 2K over NBA Live. NBA Live was too much and it doesn’t motivate me to play. It’s like playing PES games, which by the way I like better than FIFA because FIFA is much easier to play and less complicated as a beginner. Yes, shooting is one of my biggest issues, it's so hard to make a basket with that fast-moving timer. By the time you know it, it's too late to release the button.
My cut off was 2k18. Before that it was 14 I literally will wait 4-5 years in hopes the jump in quality will be significantly better. And I was going to by 20 but the W mode made me opt out because I noticed the graphics and animations/ lighting all took a back seat in the pursuit of adding more content in the WNBA. I was going to finally purchase 24 after being away from the series for 6 years, until I saw the reviews and the screen shots. Someone did a side by side between 14 and 24 and I could not believe what I saw. My jaw hit the floor. 2k14 looked like it was where 2k24 should have been, and 2k24 looked like it was from 2k7 or 8. It was THAT bad. So I opted out of buying. I saw the 25 screens and although it’s better than 24, it still looks miles behind 2k14. How they can devolve at all, is crazy. Either stay the same or get incrementally better. But not only is 24 worse, it’s appearing as if belongs somewhere in two generations ago. They made the graphics take a hit so hard it knocked them back into the past by over a decade. Actually, I’d say 15 years behind bc of how amazing 14 looked. And I’m not saying they did this for the pursuit of diversity and cramming the WNBA in the game when no one asked for it…… but yea I’m saying it. Because it’s fucking true. And it’s sad. It’s another example of quality suffering in the name of social justice, for the women. Sacrificing content that appeals to 99.9 percent of the market to cater to .1 percent is something only social justice would achieve.

Honestly dude I used to be a My Career guy, hated online aspect of it, I was all about the stories and for me 2ks 19 and 21 had the absolute best stories coupled with the best gameplay. 17 was nice too all around, 16 was just utter dogshit all round and I avoided 18, 20, 22 & 23 cause the MyCareers looked dreadful. Thank god we had Chris Smoove to subject himself and save me money! 24s my career is non existent, just sucks completely, only reason I bought this game (in 75%off sale) was for the Mamba Moments. I agree about the shooting completely, it's a nightmare and it makes this game modenreally difficult to enjoy thanks to that. Could've been as good as the Jordan Challenge from 2k11 but 2K screwed the mechanics. Right now, I've gone back to the only 2 modes you can have a good amount of control over and enjoyment without grinding or wasting your hard earned money. MyGM and Association. I love creating a Draft Class for each season when I have some time, then watching the season unfold. I refuse to entertain micro transactions.

Green or miss is good in theory FOR MYCAREER with a set jump shot….but if you’re playing a game where over 200+ players have different jumpshots it’s frustrating af! And at this point they need to make a MyCareer offline option with the same features but for players who want a storyline and to just jump in, hoop and grind to 99

The city is just a giant advertisement, which is why they'll never get rid of it. The city is there to advertise all the different brands in the game. Nike, gatorade, Ruffles, adiddas, etc. 2k makes so much money off of those ads that the city is here to stay. They can tweak it at most. Maybe make things closer together, but the real point of the city is to advertise.
And the city means you have to see all the online players, which are those that bought VC and are 99 overalls dripped out in mascot costumes. And if you think this is cool and you want to queue on a court with them, then you’re probably not even going to get into a match being a 60 overall, so you buy VC.
Then they got the stupid motor scooters and stuff that make you run faster. Pretty sure that costs VC too.

I stopped playing after 2K19 because i just felt burnt out. By the time I felt like playing 2K again, they had gone to next gen and i play on PC which doesnt get next gen games.
I've heard 2K25 will be next gen on PC, so im considering buying it. But man everytime i think about having to pay for the game and a character it makes me not want to.

The game is pure RNG tho when it comes to loose balls, offensive rebounds, and out of bounds animations

@@WhoJahBless The reason they made shooting skill based is because it was way too easy. Shooting a bounce back late and still making shots is to easy and eliminates skill gap. Also they made you miss random shots WIDE OPEN shots because of RNG. You can also be knockdown with a 60 3 pointer which creates imbalance in the game.
I think we better off with green or miss with an actual anti cheat for zen users and a severe buff to defense. The people who actually practice and know their jumpshot que should be rewarded not bounce back shooters.
The only time I get different jump shot timing is when I shoot contested shots.
All the other 2ks there were a couple jump shot bases Lamarcus Aldridge and Rudy gay were dominate bases for years

The dribbler has gotten around and has either shot or layed the ball up by that time. If yall are going to MAKE me touch the screener with an animation, keep me on the same side as where I am.

2k24 is absolutely horrendous.
Played 2k7 again on 360 recently and it was much more enjoyable.
I had time to grind when I was in hs but now it’s ridiculous it gets to a point where you have to do cringy quest and play 3-4 games just to get a single upgrade literally UNLESS you buy vc. Nowadays I’m strictly a play now player.
The same way you feel that everyone is stiff and it’s hard to guard the other player. Other people are saying the same exact thing, but they’re able to manage because they practiced. You got to learn your controller. You gotta keep practicing until you get better, because it could be like 2k11 when all the shots were easy at one particular time and that was boring.
At this point the game is just a disgrace to the late great Kobe Bryant

I wait till 2K is free to play every year since 20 but after 17 i stopped caring
Cant really blame them for making shooting harder its what the community asked for 2k22 had people hitting whites really often and now you dont hit whites very often and people are still complaining. But i feel like the biggest problem with 2k is them making dribbling slower and stiffer every year instead of expanding on the dribbling and movement of the game. Ever since 2k19 the dribbling has just gotten worse and worse and to make one build takes 300k vc 😭.
When shot success comes down to whether you "green it" or not in a basketball game there's something wrong.
I actually contacted their support about getting my money back for all the VC and bs I bought.
It's a waste of storage space too. It's near 180 gigabytes
I haven't bought or paid full AAA price for a sports video since f**king FIFA 19 and 2K19. Since then i've played the subsequent iterations of FIFA and NBA 2K for "free" from subscriptions or for less than $10 and they have all been garbage. I don't understand casuals and gamers wasting $60 and now $70 for the same yearly crap.
I got it on steam the other day because it was on mega sale. I’ve never (seriously) played another nba game. I’m loving it. Building a dynasty in MyLeague and doing some quick play offline is fun. I’m not interested in the MyCareer. For me, it was a solid buy. Graphics are pretty shit though
I only watched about 10+ minutes of your video but you are 100% correct about how bad the game feels for a new player or a player coming back. I stopped playing 2k in 2019 but did experience 2k20 and 21. I actually got 2k21 free and uninstalled it the same day because of how bad the gameplay was. Now for 2k24, they nerf everything to favor online play and microtransactions. If you haven't put hundreds of hours into this game over the last few years or have the reflexes of a tennis player in your thumbs shot timing and dribble combos or hard as sh*t. They do this by design to get you to spend money on VC for badges and skills upgrades. People who cry about the "skills gap" were outraged that casuals could still green a jumper in their face. It was like playing Mortal Kombat with your friends back in the day and your mom made you let your little sister play and she's beating everybody with low kicks and sweeps. So you can have a 60 3pt shot and still shoot but you have to have like 3 to 5 badges enabled. That's not a "skills gap", that's pay to win.
So I gave 2k24 a shot this year just because of how big of a Kobe fan I was. I don't play online so I was buying the game just for Kobe and MyCareer modes. I played for a couple of months just to get my player to 70 overall and about 15 badges ( no money spent) and was finally able to shoot, but the game still wasn't fun to play. If you're not here for the online experience this game isn't worth playing. The gameplay feels poor and unbalanced. Playing around with sliders doesn't even help.

Tbh the shooting system this year is amazing in my opinion. I haven’t played 2k since 2k20 but I was always somewhat a competitive type of player so upon returning I shoot 75% from 3 and I love the fact that you can hit basically any shot as long as you time it correctly it gives a real life aspect to shooting. Tbh shooting might even be too easy this year but yeah I personally love the shooting system

@@CesarPerez-ul7zw that’s kinda around the time I stopped playing, so I’m kinda new to the style of 2k’s after like 20. People have told me the same tho. Turn the meter off, and practice a jumper until I figure out my shot. I’ve tried playing the earlier 2k’s that didn’t have Shot meter, but the shooting feels a bit different compared to now.

the shot meter takes the attention of the user off of the shot animations. You get so hung up on checking a thermostat instead of enjoying the fluidity and position of the players

It’s been mandatory green for like two years now and it suck ass… turning the meter off helps you slightly but the green meter changes so much depending on the defense and the moves to set it up the shot it’s hard to get it a flow sometimes. I don’t play the city but I like the career mode. The AI on your team is usually ass and the computer doesn’t miss shit until the 4th quarter. It’s like you have to go shot for shot or you’re definitely gonna lose.

OK, I remember I used to shoot three-pointers with Shaq. NBA 2K has been that game since day one. It was just recently the kind of change in course or lack of something that did not motivate the fan base to pick up the 2K games, but overall I preferred 2K over NBA Live. NBA Live was too much and it doesn’t motivate me to play. It’s like playing PES games, which by the way I like better than FIFA because FIFA is much easier to play and less complicated as a beginner. Yes, shooting is one of my biggest issues, it's so hard to make a basket with that fast-moving timer. By the time you know it, it's too late to release the button.
My cut off was 2k18. Before that it was 14
I literally will wait 4-5 years in hopes the jump in quality will be significantly better. And I was going to by 20 but the W mode made me opt out because I noticed the graphics and animations/ lighting all took a back seat in the pursuit of adding more content in the WNBA.
I was going to finally purchase 24 after being away from the series for 6 years, until I saw the reviews and the screen shots. Someone did a side by side between 14 and 24 and I could not believe what I saw. My jaw hit the floor. 2k14 looked like it was where 2k24 should have been, and 2k24 looked like it was from 2k7 or 8. It was THAT bad. So I opted out of buying.
I saw the 25 screens and although it’s better than 24, it still looks miles behind 2k14. How they can devolve at all, is crazy. Either stay the same or get incrementally better. But not only is 24 worse, it’s appearing as if belongs somewhere in two generations ago. They made the graphics take a hit so hard it knocked them back into the past by over a decade. Actually, I’d say 15 years behind bc of how amazing 14 looked. And I’m not saying they did this for the pursuit of diversity and cramming the WNBA in the game when no one asked for it…… but yea I’m saying it. Because it’s fucking true. And it’s sad. It’s another example of quality suffering in the name of social justice, for the women. Sacrificing content that appeals to 99.9 percent of the market to cater to .1 percent is something only social justice would achieve.

I paid 12 bucks for it 2 days ago, never felt more ripped off for a game in my life (been gaming 35+ years). Already deleted it. It lasted less than 48hrs. Absolute trash.
Great video and pretty much in agreement on all counts, 2k is consistently letting us down, big time! Honestly dude I used to be a My Career guy, hated online aspect of it, I was all about the stories and for me 2ks 19 and 21 had the absolute best stories coupled with the best gameplay.
17 was nice too all around, 16 was just utter dogshit all round and I avoided 18, 20, 22 & 23 cause the MyCareers looked dreadful.
Thank god we had Chris Smoove to subject himself and save me money!
24s my career is non existent, just sucks completely, only reason I bought this game (in 75%off sale) was for the Mamba Moments.
I agree about the shooting completely, it's a nightmare and it makes this game modenreally difficult to enjoy thanks to that. Could've been as good as the Jordan Challenge from 2k11 but 2K screwed the mechanics.
Right now, I've gone back to the only 2 modes you can have a good amount of control over and enjoyment without grinding or wasting your hard earned money.
