@poorboysrc it's drying out today but cold. If it's nice, I'll get my hit shot on the track now you have your hotshot 2 out. Hope Mark is up to getting his out soon.

It was my sons first build and then he did a TT02B and then lost interest. Pain not being able to paint the body, we are lucky because Daniel's was the rare red version with black wheels.

So I think I'll leave it alone, and if I get the chance to grab another body, I will, and I'll try painting that one. 👊🏼

Hi Fil, bit late to comment but the bodyshell is made from polyethylene which is the same material as the 25 gallon blue drums that are used for holding fuel, oil, flammable liquids etc etc. The gearbox in the Holiday Buggy is the same as the DT-03 seeing as the chassis is a DT-02 and like most Tamiya's, all the parts are interchangeable. I placed a 4370kv (9t) in mine and it rips across the grass so maybe a speedrun challenge is coming soon.... 👍
Very nice Fil. The DT-02 is a great chassis, especially with the tyres you get with the Holiday Buggy. Like you say a great kit to get into the hobby although there is a fair bit of painting of the bits and bobs that attach to the body and some slightly tricky stickers over the arches. If you have got a spare Sand Viper body then it makes a great dirt guard for the chassis but you need to customise it a bit so it fits under the cockpit piece. Have fun running it 😁👍
Yeah I think it took longer to paint the small bits and pieces that came with the kit, than it did to build the entire chassis. Funny how that goes, isn't it? 👊🏼
The bushings in the wheels tip makes perfect sense to me. I live in Scotland and its quite often wet here - not constantly raining - but it always seems to be when youre planning on doing anything outside. 😡🤣
Ribbed is ok but can still slip around a bit!😮 Fun vid the DT-02 is a fantastic platform! The Holiday Buggy is actually a bargain still a really decent kit for little money and of course looks super cool.
I had an original Sand Rover back in the early '80's. I replaced the kit 380 with a 540 and soon thereafter I called it the 'stripper' because as soon as the open top gearbox got a whiff of dust it stripped out all the plastic gear's in an instant. 😭
