Nice build Craig. This front counter gear's very interesting. I never had seen this before. Soul help cornering. Looking forward for your experiences with it.
Hey Dirk, I am hoping that it makes this 4wd different to some of the others on the OR next season. This and the Mid are going to be pushing the modern 4wd models pretty hard I feel!
It looks great and I need to get one at some point! I have never had a car with a one-way in it either. Very cool build and looking forward to seeing it run!
Hey Addam, the one way is super cool and this is the first time I have seen one. Looking forward to seeing how this compares to the Optima Mid on the track. You would love one of these dude. Top Force is being rereleased this year too 🤔
Hi Craig, I'm loving the format of this build video, focusing on all the interesting and more unusual points of the build and skipping the simple bits works so well! Lots of nice tips and advice coming across too. I enjoyed the rant about the stainless screw kit mate! 😅 It is what it is! Such a wonderful kit with some special parts that looks the dogs now you've finished it. Top work, dude! 😎👌👍
Hey Mark, thanks for your lovely comment buddy! I am so pleased with this one and it looks even better with the silver wheels on now! I had a little shake down drive this weekend and it is slightly under steering which I am putting down to the tarmac and the one way. Can’t wait to see it out on the OR and it feels FAST!!
My favorite Tamiya vintage buggy! Absolutely love it. I stare at my evo 2 all the time. Ultimate top force build for sure. I need to get my original built as it has been a year since giving my 1st away. Lol
You got to do it Keith! Wait until you see the wheels I have on this one now! I think they are the ones Tamiya should have shipped with this originally 😎
What a gorgeous buggy, I can't get enough of the Top Force EVO, it's so sleek and sexy. Great video presentation, Craig, hope you get some good weather and you're able to get it out and enjoy it. Cheers pal!
Hey Fil! It really is a stunning RC. I was never sure about it back in the day but now it is sat on my shelf it is one of the best looking RCs in the OAG stable! It is going to be right up there next season for sure…. Will it beat the Mid though?????
@@theoagrc it's the series door opening wedge/shoehorn out there! Haha! I love it, I'm glad you got the opportunity to build one. I think it's going to kick butt at the OR this season. I'm thinking that one way bearing setup is gonna play a big part in it.
Great build video! Enjoyed the video format. Can’t wait to see this run on the Orchard Raceway. I suggest getting a TA-02 speed tuned gear set (#47393) for a little more speed but mostly for greater durability. The Evo comes with a plastic spur gear and an aluminum drive gear (MA24 I believe) that is quite soft and wears quickly. The speed tuned gears are single pieces of plastic (spur + drive gear is a single plastic piece and more durable).
Great recommendation and the parts are already in my search engine!! I think this is going to be right up there next season for sure!! Possible new fan favourite when you see the wheels 😎
That is such a cool looking RC! Love the design of the body. That front diff set up is very interesting.....looks like the idea never caught on though. Great video! Looking forward to seeing you run it.
Hey Arky, it is a might fine looking RC. I love the design of the body and the wing position. The one way is new to me so we’ll give it a chance as it was in the box. Can’t wait for the season to start!
I think it is going to be right up there Joe. The Optima Mid should be close too but the modern 4wd competitors will be looking to reclaim some glory though!
Hey Craig, some nice ‘me’ time in the studio. I would have loved to have seen more on those ball diffs though 😊😊but then, I am slightly geeky 😂😂 best wishes my friend 😊😊
Hey John, those ball diffs were a work of art. The Madcap one was a pain but the Top Force Evo was lovely in comparison. It is always fun to see how the design has moved on since the 90s!!
The Stainless and titanium screw kits all seem to be like that. I have resorted to buy in bulk in all different sizes and most times I can get it done. I did my evo 2 in all blue screws from whip racing although it was 4 different chassis kits that I mixed together.
Hey Keith, it was a little frustrating but I ordered the wrong screw kit! The build was a joy and I can’t wait to see how she handles on that one way next season! Got to be a contender right???
Great build video. It's always nice to see a Tamiya build video I hope you are going to rebuild it with gear diffs as i suggested in your last TF evo vid :) Also speed gear is better as other recommend here as you will have plastic on plastic instead of that horrible soft aluminium drive gear. But you can get a regular too 50529
I am on the hunt for parts dude. I will go in and hop it all up at some point but I am sure for season 2024 she’ll be ok on a silver can. Question is will she be on top of the podium at the end of the season??
I love how the tfe looks, along with the egress and avante I think they're the finest looking buggies ever made. I have an 89 egress but I really gotta get myself a top force evo.... Then maybe an avante. Such an unusual body on the tfe and there's a version available without the roof scoop but can't quite remember who makes it at the minute.... I think the top force evo will be my next buggy
Great comment Rich and thanks for watching 🙌🏻 It is a lovely build and I can really recommend it. I was unsure at first but the final model is so good! Egress is on my list but I worry that parts will be an issue when driving it out on the Orchard Raceway which always needs to be considered 😁
@@theoagrc get an egress as parts are readily available everywhere. I tend to use ttp or rc mart. Such a quality buggy and handles awesome too. Keep the vids coming and take care mate
Great build video Mr OAG! We both built these at the same time as you know, but it was really enjoyable watching you do yours with my own experience so fresh in my mind. As I said before, it's actually a very easy build.... even though glancing at the instructions would suggest otherwise, it all goes together really well. My main gripe is the pesky E clips, but we have to accept that for kits of this period eh mate..... Oh, and the bloody silver can, shame on you Tamiya..... should have at least included a GT tuned or something! I fitted the speed gear set when I built mine, as others have recommended..... definitely good advice. The only other mods I done was a vintage Top force Evolution hop up prop shaft, and an orange antenna tube..... as I'm a little anal like that! 😂 Great tip regarding the carbon sealing, that's a new one to me mate. As for that Superglue gel, I actually bought some of that this weekend.... total rip off, you should see how little actual glue there is in there mate, there wasn't even enough to stick four tyres onto the rims of my Fazer! 😂 Rant over! Now, let's see her rip..... some mole hill pounding, apple slinging, root stomping action on the OR is essential to see if this buggy will stand any chance whatsoever of threatening the dark side Mid! 👍 👍 👍
Hey James, I know about the motor pal! Why can’t Tamiya play to the fans and give us some nice retro brushed motors for the memories?? I have a few recommended hop ups for this model as well go but man it is a good looking RC. Will it beat the Optima Mid??? Not too long to find out buddy!
Love it Craig, I have a 2017 TopForce and it seems in a total different league compared to my entry level buggys (tto2b) .I would love a TopForce Evo to go with my TopForce but slightly pricey for me atm, I can't wait to see what u think of it when get to run her,I guarantee you'll end up buying a spicy motor for her 😁.Hell of a buggy mate 💯👊👍
Hey Carl, thanks for watching pal. The EVO was a great build and the final buggy is a work of art! It feels like it is going to be running very high up on the OR next season. As for motors if it does struggle then we might drop something a little hotter in there 🚀
@theoagrc nothing wrong with a silver or torque tuned motor but because when I built my TopForce I just felt it needed something,so I bought my first brushless motor for it, only a cheap one but it really goes 😊
It is very similar dude. I think at the time the DF01 was the buggy version. This was a step up though! I managed to fix the front end… I had been an idiot!!
Always the way Richard!! This does feel different though! Having never owned an Avante or Egress I can’t imagine how much better those models were (or weren’t). This is up there with the Mid for me so I am very excited to see them both smashing round the OR next season.
Hey Mauzy, it was because the car was not under load. The drive train did not like being fully extended plus (as you will see) I got the front end all goofed up!!
Nice build Craig. This front counter gear's very interesting. I never had seen this before. Soul help cornering. Looking forward for your experiences with it.

Boy, that is a top shelf looking buggy Craig, very stunning! Those shocks seem soooo smooth!👍😊
It is awesome Jeremy. I am so pleased to have this in the stable and those shocks are soooooo smoooooooth 😎

I hope so! I am expecting big things out on the OR this year! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Lovely build Craig, will be fun to see how it perfom on the track.
Hey Mattias, I am hoping it is going to be amazing but you never know what problems might come up 😂
Great video mate looking forward to more 👌
Cheers Mark! Plenty more on the way dude 🙌🏻
What a great car. Thanks for sharing!

weirdly that has similar gears to the tao2. the ball diff is identical.
think it needs to be under weight . seems a tamiya quirk with a few kits
It is very similar dude. I think at the time the DF01 was the buggy version. This was a step up though! I managed to fix the front end… I had been an idiot!!
Its a great looking buggy, im still tempted to get one, but its going to have to wait for now. Ive over spent as it is 😂

What a beauty. Did you find out what caused the jitter under throttle after? Seems strange. 🤘 😎🤘
Hey Mauzy, it was because the car was not under load. The drive train did not like being fully extended plus (as you will see) I got the front end all goofed up!!
First comment! I beat Mark!!!
🙌🏻
Arms were in two pieces as that is the only way they could mould them hollow. If they were one piece then they would.need to be solid
Was I right about them being hollow for weight reduction? Thanks for the info Lee 🙌🏻
So how do I get a ticket to win this one then??
😂🤣 Perhaps a future OAG charity build but might need to think that one through a little more 🤔
The evil clips are evil.. I just built a Top Force and I hate those E clips..
They are evil dude!! But the C clips on the Schumacher Cougar were 10x worse 🤬🤣😂
