Most people truly underestimate the emotional roller coaster ride it is creating new artwork, constantly trying new techniques and styles. Your work truly speaks volumes!!!
This is my first comment to you so I will tell you, I love your art. I’m not, what you call enthusiastic about what you draw but, I get it. I personally find trees not as much hard or difficult as it is tedious to do to get it right. I found myself being amazed at the ability for a tree to grow. I’ve drawn lots of trees but, drawing one so large and starting from the roots and you “watch it grow” before your own eyes as you draw it gives you a whole new respect and appreciation for a tree and what all it goes through to give it it’s looks. I have a pencil drawing that I worked on for 3 years and the main part of the front tree took 10 months. Naturally I had to go over many, many more times and hours but, it was worth it. It was the main thing you would notice. I would like to send you a picture of the whole drawing that took 3 years to get your input on it if you would let me know where to send it.
I adore drawing trees. I find them so relaxing because unlike drawing human bodies and faces, even if I make a mistake copying a tree, it is forgiving as people will not spot the mistake at all unlike when I make a mistake in drawing a portrait where making a mistake is huge in a portrait. I adore these types of video's that you share on how you do what you do. For me it is gold and I drink this up like water in a desert. They are truly valuable information for me. Thank you so much for sharing. This will be quite useful next time I will tackle a drawing with a tree. Great work Jono!!!
Refreshing to hear you speak about not being confident with a certain process of the drawing. I always catch myself really griping mentally when I'm not as confident somewhere
So great to hear your thinking while you had been working. As a painter, trees are oft' the thoughtlessly stippled afterthought. But in your drawings, you never have such luxuries. You inspire me to want to paint a tree with that level of detail. Hmmm...I see a fun project forming for myself. 👀
I didn’t realize how important your erasers were in helping you get the texture in the large areas of your drawings. Really learn so much from each of your videos, all are really enjoyable to watch.
These drawings are absolutely fantastic. I love the way you get the texture in all your drawings. I really cant watch these videos enough. Love your technique and your vision, just mind blowing. Thank you for bringing your visions to life so we can indulge ourselves in your work.
@@JonoDry yes I have seen a few of your drawings and one of my favourite ones is"HANDLE" and another one is "AUGUST". Tha way you capture the texture of the elephants skin is just mind blowing. Thank you again for sharing your fantastic style and vision.
Best video ever. This information is going to really help me with my anxiety of tackling the most challenging areas of my drawing. So many wonderful tips. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks very informative. Maybe it's just me, but I think I have an unorthodox approach to art sometimes. I see what I want to draw and I just do it. I don't put much thought into it outside of coming up with the concepts. It just flows. I've always been like that since I was 3. I didn't know what technique I was doing until my art teacher explained it to me back in high. But by then, I've been drawing practically my entire life. Then when I went to art college, the flood gates open I was introduced to a lot of art content from illustrations to sculptures to digital design. Again thanks, this was informative also. I love watching artists and their techniques.
Your patience and persistence are admirable - much of art (especially when rendering realistic detail) is repetitive and boring. It takes mastery to keep going and get everything as perfect as you do. Congratulations on your fine artwork
I'm so happy I found an artist that uses the same medium as me. You have no idea how hard it's for me to find someone that uses pencil when I want to learn something. It's always paint or digital art. But ty for teaching me how to get really dark blacks. I have no idea why I haven't thought of grinding 9B graphite stick to dust?
I've been a fan of yours for a long time, going on 10 years. I actually have one of your prints (Pan) and it's incredible. These deep dives are super cool, glad you're making content. If you want, could you share your favorite artists or people that inspire you? I'd love to know (sorry if this has been asked/answered before btw)
I'm not the biggest fan of hyper realism but, still have lot of admiration for your work and seemingly unlimited patience. Would you ever move towards more impressionistic work?
It would really help in these tutorials if you had links to the equipment you use…the different mechanical erasers, the lead you use in your mechanical pencils (size and grade) etc
Great video! But can someone help me with one thing. When I draw with a pencil and press a little harder, it creates a kind of shine. This can look a bit strange if you look at the picture from a certain angle. Do artists like this have this "problem" too and only film with appropriate lighting conditions? I would be very grateful if someone could help me! 🙏
Jono, may I ask please ... how much graphite (in grams or ounces) did this drawing take? Do you make your own or do you purchase ready ground graphite? Thank you X
Jono you are the best, congratulations. On my cell phone i can have subtitles in several languages including Portuguese, but on my TV your videos onli have subtitles in English. It's a problem with my TV or your channel viewed on TV? If you put a red heart i will consider it to be from your channel. I'm an amateur and I've already learned a lot from you. Obrigado
My difficulty with drawing trees on proportions my trees never seem to stay on the paper lol. Drawing the tree itself the trunk and branches to me is the easy part the foliage is a little harder I can do it with shading but then it won't be very detailed or as detailed as I would like. For me I start very light and then go very dark I kinda block it all out very lightly Keep in mind the grade of shadows I want to use shade them all in very lightly. And go from there keeping in mind where I'm going to put the highlights. But then again a lit of the time it can get messy. Every have one of theos day's where you feel really confident so you let yourself flow and work as fast as your hand want to take you and later you find out you made a mistake but it's to late trying to fix it will most likely destroy it. Yes that can happen to me a lot. Lol
You work really hard in these artworks and creating these videos i love them a lot but can you please set your hair a bit before you make the videos btw u luk really good 💖 i wish i was of your age so I could marry u❤️ i love you and your skills btw I'm an artist too, 💓 you're very talented and hardworking

thanks for sharing your process i am a bit rusty with pencil as i've been doing mostly watercolor and this helps

Amazing work by the those are nice drawings 🔥

Thank you so much!! Loved this video. Fear is a huge delayer

Greetings to you and your wonderful masterful work from Egypt
I didn’t realize how important your erasers were in helping you get the texture in the large areas of your drawings. Really learn so much from each of your videos, all are really enjoyable to watch.
I'm so glad it helped. I've found it's not only about putting graphite down on the paper but also can be really unique to pull it out aswell :)
Wow! Such a beautiful drawing

This drawing is the best and most profound art presently on our planet... It hasn't left my peripheral eyesight since I saw it... love love

Hello Jono enjoy your beautiful work love to see more keep it coming
WOW! What an outstanding ability you have, absolutely amazing.
Please make video on which materials you use for realistic painting?
I have a video here going through everything I use :) ruclips.net/video/-qqjLY3lCSo/видео.html
Loved hearing about your approach to challenging techtures! Trees do scare me as does fabric.
Ypu are fearless and inspiring! Xo from Alaska❤❤❤
Stunning. As always.

Love it Jono!!! Yes trees are very difficult to draw indeed. If it's a little off it looks very unrealistic !
Absolutely, they require spending a lot of time getting them to look right :)
omg, jono I'm your biggest fan!!!!

amazing!!!! Can you make a tutorial about drawing fire?
Your patience and persistence are admirable - much of art (especially when rendering realistic detail) is repetitive and boring. It takes mastery to keep going and get everything as perfect as you do. Congratulations on your fine artwork
i like the endurance and pain people go through making wonderful art like this more than anything
not sure if that makes me a sadist or not
You answered some questions with a drawing I’m currently working with now. I wish I could show you what I’m working on.

Amazingly beautiful!
Thanks jono ♥️
It was very helpful 😊
I totally agree my latest videos is about me attempting hyperrealism ,I’m learning Stuff I didn’t know
stunning
Incredible!
Thinner papers will often fail under too much manipulation and then you have nothing. Wonderful video.
The graphite powder is smoother than the pencil for some reason it works like charcoal. :) very beautiful piece!
Excellent!!!!!
What do you use to protect your work when it's done? Some kind of matt lacquer spray?
How do you transfer the drawing to the paper? do you use grid or photo projector for tracing? Thanks
He actually just sketches it out from photos. At least that's what he did in most of his drawings
💕 love love ur work
Beautiful
This was great, is it possible you can do the same for drawing a cloth, smoke and a liquid texture?
It would really help in these tutorials if you had links to the equipment you use…the different mechanical erasers, the lead you use in your mechanical pencils (size and grade) etc
