I have seen a number of hyperrealism drawings but I haven't felt that feeling of Wow! Thing....... U have both Wow and inspiring.... You are such an outstanding artist
Humbles me when other artists struggle sometimes. We are all learning. Every day with every piece we do. It's always hard to not doubt yourself. But I'm working on that!! Beautiful piece!! One day I hope to do large scale drawings!
One of the best drawings I've ever seen! It really has a soul and it's unreal! One of the reasons why I like this guy's work so much is because it completely debunks that frequent notion how hyperrealism and it's sibling-styles (photorealism first among them) are purely decorative, and their only purpose is to induce that "whoa" impression on people. That is far from true, in fact hyperrealistic works make me to think and interpret things more often than abstract works, especially abstract expressionism!
Its nice cause he added his own flair to it with the border and the unique honeycomb texture for the capillaries and its not an exact copy from an image which I see alot. I have an immense amount of respect for people who do hyper/photorealism, especially those who take it a little further and put something else in there
@@verlagdashofer5000 the differences between them are tricky to explain because at first glance there is no obvious difference. First - intent. Photorealists, especially first generation of them (Chuck Close, Audrey Flack, Ralph Goings, Richard Estes etc) really wanted to depict what they were painting or drawing as realistic as possible - not much philosophy or words, but more artistic and technical prowess and skill + applying new technologies and mediums to their work (photography). That was a counter-attack on abstract movements which dominated the art world. Then, a bit later, Hyperrealists added something new. They added intent, narrative and it's not just about real knowledge and skill, but also that spiritual part. You could say that Hyperrealism is an augmented, advanced brother of Photorealism. It often produces surreal, unreal or more than real reality. As its name suggests, hyperreality, what human eye can't naturally capture. On the other hand, today's Photorealists, such as Peter Maier, Steve Mills, Raphaella Spence etc... are pretty much different than the first generations from the 60s and 70s. They are changing things, adding more details than before, and works are much more moving. Both movements are very compatible for combination with other styles too, including Abstract art. For you to orientate properly, examples of great contemporary hyperrealists are Jono Dry, Ruan Huisamen, Marco Grassi, Philipp Weber, Peter Hohsl etc...

the wrinkles and line under the eye seemed to escape me it is crazy i would love to see the techniques for the shading under the eye and the details of said skin its amazing
Jono... One of the things that has make you get better is how humble you are! You always talk about what you learned, the mistakes you made etcetera. My dad always told me. " The day you think you know everything, you'll stop learning "
i love the fact that this video is slower and shows more than your usual quite fast videos....it's incredibly useful to see how you're handling your tools and the medium
I just love that all your videos have such a simplistic and elegant look to it I am also an artist and I will also try my best to bring my videos to the quality standard as high as yours. Thanks for inspiring me Love from india
Ilove people like u as they love to share what they know and want to see people also make art dont just keep their info for themselves ireally respect u and love your work .
Omg!! , you are at another level higher than Leonardo's, you are at a new level called Jono's level, you should receive a big award for your hyperrealism drawings!
I love drawing realistic portraits, but hyperrealism is like a whole new world to me. It's like seeing everything through a microscope. When asked what my favorite part of drawing a portrait is, I say, "the eyes", and here is Jono mentioning the landscapes of the iris, and I feel that I'm never spending enough time on either of these little details to truly appreciate them. Your videos remind me of that. Thank you, Jono!
You remind me how important it is for artists to strive to become human microscopes. Your work is stunning and magnificent; I so appreciate that you share your process, which is just as beautiful as the results.
You are so talented that all I can do is just watch and be amazed... I really hope you can still do this for a long time and that people appreciate your work.
You are just so talented Jono, and I eagerly await each of your videos, and yes I learn a lot from you, not that I would ever be in your league...please keep posting ❤️
I must admit, I’m so jealous of your stunning easel / wall fixture. Can’t say I’ve ever seen one of those in South Africa-would have come in handy with my pastels :). Love your work, Jono, truly well done!
I am surprised that in the part you mentioned that you were not sure how to create the texture you did not experiment on a separate piece of paper but instead decided to forge on. Absolutely beautiful painting.
I was like thinking about making the hand of wolverine showing its metal claws coming out. So, it would be like soo cool to see such graphite work at super professional level as yours. That's one idea I came up with ,as you asked for in the video. Looking forward to your next work and learning more from it.😊!
My son has A.D.H.D. so I do understand some of your challenges. Your attention to detail shows me I need to pay closer attention. I never copy nor try and out do any drawing or picture. I want to ask,how do you stay motivated/focused to complete yours? If my drawing has 3 things I don't quite like,I trash them. Tips? People like you help others. So don't stop.
