You just gave up of drawing laying down on your bed and don't want to draw just scrolling your phone screen and suddenly the video popped up of @jonodray you haven't even compete the video and you're sitting on your drawing table. . This magic has this person. Respect you from the bottom of my heart
One thing I like about your videos, collectively, is that you try to explain your thinking, including the parts that you probably wouldn't think consciously about if you weren't making a video. Learning the technical aspects of drawing or any other medium takes research, work and, especially, time. But learning how and when to make the key artistic choices that are needed to make a piece your own and/or to elevate it beyond the ordinary is something that we don't hear a lot about on RUclips (or Patreon, for that matter). But, you do seem to make an effort at this. Thank you for that.
This video I am thankful. Eye detailing is everything I needed to understand... And not just that how you block the shadow and blending with tools are I never knew.... Thank you
What a great video! My favorite part is how you explained everything. You gave concepts to focus on rather than a step-by-step tutorial will really help nail the concepts and techniques and remember them rather than just following directions. Can't wait I until the next!
I’ve only just discovered you and I’m totally mesmerised by your work. I’ve been a member of an art group for 20 years and, like you, I’m fascinated by eyes. They are all so different amongst humans and animals. I love the scale you work to as well. I will share your channel with the group of artists as I’m sure they will be astounded by your work and quality of teaching. Thank you so much. ❤Angela
I just love watching your drawing tutorials. You are so kind to share them. I’m going to watch in hopes of improving my drawings. I just wanted you to know that I think you’re an awesome human! Thank you for sharing ❤
Jono, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this! I'm excited to try and looking forward to your next tutorial. I cannot express enough gratitude for this, and for all your work of course, but for the tutorials, THANK YOU!
Fantastic!! Thank you for sharing the step by step procedure of your work!! The telling of each detail is so helpful for me to improve my work! Your talent is amazing!❤
Tremendous work, you have an incredible gift and talent. All your creations are truly incredible. I have been following your channel for 2 years. Congratulations and hugs from Chile.
Dude, loving your stuff, saw you at red sofa, nearly came over to say hi, and pick your brain a bit... but i digress, your personal time is yours alone. Thanks for sharing on this platform tho, such incredible work...
Could you add a reflection of what the eye actually see? You're so great at the eye. How do you look into a real eye to draw it. Do you have a doctor's tool to look into it? You're extremely kind by teaching your art. I am 74 years old and really can't afford to finance your career. I have been painting portraits since I was 13. Self taught, thought. Couldn't afford to go to an art school, had to work since I was young. But painting have always been my passion. I never thought of painting one particular part of the body and master it as you have with eyes. You're amazing! Thanks for sharing. Wish you success in your career, you deserve it!
The every detail you give in your drawing is great, it feels like the eye is looking at someone, it's like real, good to see beautiful art of yours🤗🤗🤗🤗☺️☺️
I am lost for words to describe your work but that they are true masterpieces. Just love watching your tutorials. Keep up the awesome work. Greetings from, Melbourne Downunder 😊👍🇦🇺
My dear Sir you truly are a master at your craft. I am completely and utterly envious, lol. I've drawn all my life and unfortunately I never gave my complete attention to truly developing my skill to it's full potential. As a youngster I didn't really care that I could render things others found to be impressive or that I had a gift that was filled with much potential. I just never really found myself strongly desiring to become the best artist I could be. Now as the years have passed on by, and time continues it's ever forward march I feel that angst, the dread of my lackluster sentiment for such a wonderful blessing God had given unto me. I truly didn't have any gratitude for being able to draw. I would meet people often that said they wish they could draw too. One of things I noticed about my disposition when I get the fancy to take pencil to paper is the immediate dread of the piece I'm about to embark upon that it not come out absolutely amazing, perfect. It's ridiculous that I expect to render perfect pieces when I never put forth a genuine effort to hone my skill. I just always held drawing as an aside. As if , oh well I'll eventually get back into it etc. Now as I mentioned before the years have ebbed and I now sit and admire so much, others abilities. Your skill is just incredible, I also love Greg"Craola" Simkin's art work. His paintings are a bafflement to my senses. His medium of Acrylic paints with a touch of dry retardant is impressive. I'd imagine you must know of him, as I'm sure he knows of your work. Yea but I digress, it's the spoiled brat in me I guess that wants to have an incredible skill without putting in the work. Presently I'm drawing daily, I've been trying to make that a habit. Watching you inspires me to get up and get a drawing. Sorry to have milked to
This is just what I've been hoping you would do, I've learnt more than I expected to and I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it...loking forward to the next episode very much... and thank you
Wanted to give a suggestion that you should provide subtitles as well in the video. It is easy to understand with the subtitles. Hope it'll be helpful :) And your content is amazing keep it up.
Hey, Suresh! RUclips automatically adds subtitles. You have to play the RUclips video, click on the settings cog. Click subtitles (English auto-generated). Then go to the settings cog again, click on auto-translate and select your preferred language from the list :) Hope this helps!
May I ask how much time you spend on a drawing of that size? Would it be different if you were drawing an unfamiliar subject vs a familiar one? I think your emphasis on a “plane of sharp focus” is one reason why your drawings look like photographs. Thanks for these tutorials showing your process!
Thank you so much for this! I have no idea in the direction for my art, I'm learning and just trying different things at the moment. I found the eye brow really difficult lol 🙂
Just gorgeous, Thankyou. I also Shared this with my oldest granddaughter, who is very self conscious of her drawings, not realising she’s doing amazing drawings considering she’s self taught, and that all artists start the same way,… Have you seen Dorothy Hall’s book called ‘Iridology’ Jono? The whole book is of irises. Self explanatory.
God is an artist who loves what he makes, as does Jona. It’s stunning seeing it go from simple to eerily real.
This is a GREAT series! You'll surely learn something useful at the end of the video. Looking forward on the next episode.
