Sir, your English is far beyond my own understanding of your language; do not let people criticise that in such a way as it is unfounded. It was truly an amazing drawing and your narration worked wonders
Nobody criticized him. Quite frankly, I personally appreciate him for not attempting to hide or obscure his ethnicity. I hate foreigners who try to trick viewers.
Absolutely brilliant. I FINALLY understand what cross-contour hatching is supposed to be and can start trying to apply it. Love your work!

This genuinely look like something off a banknote, great job!

The benchmark for how a tutorial should look like! 🎉❤
OMG.. your ability to draw parallel lines and curved parallel lines perfectly aligned and spaced is unreal... and what sets you apart from non-artists trying this... WOW!!
This is the best tutorial on crosshatching with engraving style hands down. I love the step by step process you have.
Wow. This was incredible. The level of detail and patience is just insane. Amazing.
This class changes everything, now I understand everything, the key has turned! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
This has to be the most informative 12.5 minutes I have ever watched. From your Lumus method pencil drawing to the finished product, it is packed with no-nonsense information that can be easily followed.
Excellent tutorial Tri Le, many thanks.

Absolutely AMAZING! First of all, I just want to say that your English is PERFECTLY understandable... I'm so happy you decided to speak and we actually get to hear you talk about the techniques instead of having subtitles or something.
Secondly, the art and the way you explained everything just made sense! I am from America and this technique looks like the print of our money here.
It's just beautiful to see someone use pen and pencils to create art pieces that look as if it came from an old book or something.
You just earned yourself a new sub from me my friend! Looking forward to more videos and please keep up with the speaking because I enjoyed every second of the video and you have a great, relaxing and soothing voice. Great job!
Wonderful explanation! Your exceptional artistic skills balance out any difficulties you have with English words - your movements on the portrait fill in any doubts that might be created by your narration. I found no difficulty following your words as your pen movements instantly made clear the meaning of your spoken instruction.
I do hope that you will consider creating another instruction document on this subject, just as you did with your method of illustrating the way to lay out spirals and curves of acanthus in engraving style artwork. This is a wonderfully valuable instruction piece. I look forward to more as soon as you are able. Think you!
Wow my jaw is on the ground! I’ve been creating portrait work for over 20 years and this just made my brain explode at your skill! 😮😳🤯
That’s an amazing depiction of bank note Billie Eilish!!!
Please do more full videos Please! The shorts are nice but I like these 16x9 full length videos! Great! 😮
Excellent narration. Please add Amazon affiliate links to the book and the supplies you use such as paper, pens, pencils, etc.
This is officially the first time I've ever seen cross-hatching like this and thought '"oh, I get it, I could try this", and that's amazing. Thank you!!!
this is a great breakdown of each step, looking at a finished drawing it's hard to understand where and why each line goes but this was very well explained! I have naturally shaky hands so this might be impossible drawing style to me, but I want to try it at least once...
This tutorial demo was so mesmerizing! I couldn’t tear my eyes away watching this piece come together all while learning new art techniques! Thank you for your time and dedication to sharing your knowledge!
Wow this is amazing. I'm fascinated with old cross hatching artwork and stuff like that. The amount of patience and control it requires. I think it's beautiful. Thumbs up.

That is one of the most beautiful tutorials I have ever seen of drawing. You are a tremendously gifted artist and I hope you will publish a drawing book with all your knowledge and experience,
That's beyond impressive ! I'm a beginner at hatching and this video is sooo useful. Thank you so much. You have really achieved volumes with that technique, I love it !
Gotta commend the patience of the artist. I mean if I had that much patience, then I could've been a 'good' artist instead of someone who just wings it. Straights and curves are doable, but hatching S curves ain't easy. I've tried it and I cannot emphasize how little patience I have to put that into practice when their are easier ways to shade. Still, the result of that patience is undoubtedly a chef's kiss.
Beautifully explained and demonstrated. Awesome art 👏😍👍
the coolest way to draw in my opinion
excellent. I am an engraver, and that's how it's done.
This is beautiful and very cool to watch! And don't worry, your English is very clear and understandable.
The tehnique is stunning! Thank you for the clear explanations

Instant subscribe. You draw amazing and your explanations were great! I also love the music you put on your shorts.
The instruction was brilliantly masterful, your English is better than a lot of native speakers, and the piece is beautiful! Even the visual aids are beautiful. So down another rabbit hole I go...🤣❤
In the years that I’ve studied art, I had never come across a lesson in crosshatching as detailed as this. It’s usually shown as small patches. But with the complicated forms of a portrait, it is wonderful. Thank you. I’ve gotta try this. WOW
You're a great artist 🤩
This is amazing exactly what I was needing when trying to figure out this art style. I was gonna give up till this vid randomly popped up on my feed. Thank you senpai !!!
I don't draw, but I watched without skipping a second. Keep it up.
the amount of patience needed...
Please, more videos. Very helpful 🎉
Great work! I've started to implement your techniques! Thanks for sharing!
Your english is good, and this demo/lesson is awesome. I'm super grateful for what you shared in this video. Keep going!
Thực sự quá là ấn tượng! Tình cờ nhìn thấy vid của chú và cháu đã bị hút hồn vào những tác phẩm của chú. Cảm ơn chú đã cho ra những vid chất lượng như vậy ạ.
Thank you! Been waiting for a direct, technical and detailed tutorial on engraving style applied to pen and ink like yours for ages.
Wow, this is awesome!🙏and very inspiring.
Our hands are organic printers 🖨️ amazing lesson! Excited to practice this!
Tri Le , beautiful, and a wonderful video and with art like yours there is no need to have perfect English but even your English must have been painstakingly perfected long hours. You truly are an inspiration and an Artist of our time.
I bought your pdf books , thanks for still uploading . I love seeing your content Tri!
You have no idea how valuable it is to explain your technique so well and in detail like this. Thank you so much!❤️
Thank you for this explanation, I have wanted to see someone who did this technique well and in all its development for a long time, because I wanted to give some of my drawings that style from another century, your work is excellent, keep it up. Regards.
This is the tutorial I was looking for!
This art style is delicate and beautiful❤
Great video, very helpful, very clear explanations - I wish it was longer!
Would you consider doing a piece of art while recording it on video, even if it's a long video? Other artists do live drawing videos like this, and your technique is so rare it would be a treat to see your process in real time. My schedule is weird, so it never seems to line up with your classes; I have been an admirer of your work via Instagram for a while now, and would like to get a print copy of your PDFs some day.
I once did this for a job.... newspapers etc. I liked the old victorian illustrations.
Thank you, I’ve been trying on my own but i think this will help a lot! 🙌🏼
talent, precise hand, accurate description of the method. unfortunately I have not had such good teachers, luckily I can try after watching the content on YT.
Thanks
Great portrait and tips!!
I no longer use the construction methods as Loomis is now imprinted in my brain but I drew hundreds in February so I don’t even think about the proportions or angle when I’m portraying a reference!
That looks so good! Great video as both a tutorial and art piece!
Don't take this vid down! I have to try this one day!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you for this. I'm still new to portrait drawing but atleast now i know what i need to practice before i can achieve your prestige level. Beautiful art, flawless technique btw. Thanks again 👍
Perfect work, and I take my hat off to you, because not many artist have this level of intelligence and understanding of the form. I would only like to say one think: it would be more organic to use a fude pen for varied thickness lines, instead of trying to simulate the effect by adding to thickness with the highlighters.
Precision is on point. The lines following the contours perfectly really do bring the solid feel of the shape to life. A superb tutorial and excellent work. 👏🏼
Amazing! thank you
I wouldn't be surprised if you work for the US Mint. Just gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Now saw the making of this technique for the very first time. I have seen so many results of this in very old books and on money bills but never seen the process up to now and that is really great. Thank you so much - very difficult to make.
Love it ❤
Outstanding
Love your style, I am currently creating a linocut in a similar style. You were my inspiration. I got your both books on pen and ink drawind, am I am studying them right now. Great work btw!
I enjoyed your work so much! Also great choice of music, thank you for this relaxing workshop 🤗
I used to do this when I was at Art School in the 1970s. I feel inspired to try it again!
Really beautiful process. Than you for breaking it all down for us
Wow man. Your technique and enjoyment of the medium is excellent. I too am fond of pen and ink and love this. Keep up the great work!

Very informative and soothing to watch! I'm going to attempt this on my next project.

Thanks for making this video, I’ve been following the tutorial since last night and I’m loving the results learned so much
Thank you! I learned so much from you❤ WOW ❤ your commentary, methodology and talent are all amazing 🎉 Thanks again
Do you have any idea how artists modulated lines in the 19th century? Perhaps by applying pressure to the pen?🤔 Thank you! 🙂
💞 UNBELIEVABLE BEAUTIFUL 🙏 THANKS 🙏
Absolutely perfect ✨️ 💯 This is so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your talent with us❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great music choice, feel like im almost getting over it .
Amazing. Excellent job, love it.
너무너무 아름답다... 해칭에는 왜인지 선 하나하나가 면을 만들고 그림을 완성하는 것이 주는 감동이 있는 것 같음.
Excellent work! Masterfully executed! I wish you creative inspiration and beautiful meaningful works!
One ovf the best tutorial about cross hatching. Thank you, we all owe you!
A great breakdown of the process!!
Finally someone explain me this. Thanks you
Amazing video! I've learned from it so much more than from complete drawing courses tbh. Thank you so much! Looking forward to your future videos and lessons! Good luck! ❤
I’m amazed
You are pretty talented
Thaks for sharing
This is a really well made tutorial video. Excellent work.
A really interesting style of drawing. Your work is beautiful!
Wow, this technique is awesome, great video 👏
very nice! It makes one appreciate the work of actual engravers even more, who did this on much smaller scales… with outputs of just a few cm2 a day.
Incredible, congratulations, I've already tested many types of strokes, this one hasn't yet, I'll try it this time with your tips.
Shockingly good work, Brilliant explanation
Absolutely Amazing video ❤️👍
oh I loved the flying duck video, where did it go
this was really good! watching it all come together was cool.
This is incredible! Thank you so much for this video, it is incredibly helpful!! The picture that you drew is fabulous!!
Incredible technique and skill!
