I can vouch for the aluminum billet fuel pump protector and spigot. Yes, I was left stranded in the woods. Once I got towed out (thanks DCTFAN), the folks at Rottweiler Performance had the billet kit in my east coast mailbox by noon the next day. Sturdy, effective and easy to install. 12,500 miles of TAT & BDR later, no issues. Buy one.

Looks great stripped back,a standard type for fuel tank with radiator scoops and a standard enduro h'light would look great, and save a lot of weight! Take it the aux tank never made it to market?
We believe there are cable guides that are specific to the two different forks. We can't remember the part number, or how we got them, but pretty sure there are two sizes, one for each fork type. If we can get a part number we will update for you!
@@RottweilerPerformance Thank you. The parts fiche that I keep seeing for the rally has the same part number as the non-rally bike so it is wrong. I will stop by my local dealer and see if they can help. The are a WP affiliate.
Seems like this bike has a ton of oddly engineered weak points more so than most. Glad you guys are able to sort it out and find solutions. On that note since you added 1.6 gallons to the tail section how about making a smaller main fuel tank that would eliminate the saggy ball effect of the stock tank that’s splayed to each side of the engine case?
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful. Right now, our focus is primarily KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas motorcycles but we hope to get to a point where we can start branching out into other brands and models.
Believe it or not we keep forgetting to weigh it. We think lower 400's but we'll get back to you. On the clutch, either are fine. We have run the Magura hydraulic lines and sell many of them and they are butter smooth. The cable isn't that bad, but on this bike we run our CRG Clutch kit where we had custom cables made by Motion Pro that link to CRG's R1 Yamaha lever that is adjustable both on the fulcrum and the lever position.
Im thinking about buying another bike after 5 years or more away. Nothing appealed then I saw the 890. Knowing the rally version is all that more cash, is it worth the extra bucks? Or should I get the stock R bike and modify from there?
That's a tough one. If you like really nice suspension parts that are all billetey and beautiful, but work really well, then it's a good thing to consider. There are a number of other perks like carbon fiber tank guards that get ruined right away if you ever go down and the prestige of the livery colorways, so that may help push you off the fence, but if you don't care about that stuff you can probably achieve the same build with an R model and put the money saved into aftermarket parts and suspension and you'd probably be way ahead. If you are unlimited, do both!
@@jamesbarratt593 That's okay too. You can certainly make your budget work for you with the stock parts and some aftermarket parts and get very close. I would add that the suspension that the Rally comes with falls under 'diminishing returns', meaning that they are certainly better, but the 'better' gets smaller and smaller the further you go expense wise.
Nice work. Been waiting for this. Now what's going on with the titanium sub-frame? ;) Would be interesting if some narrower front tanks were made. I remember running my 950 on a 6l tank whilst my main tanks were being painted. It was so slim. Of course the thirsty LC8 meant I couldn't ride very far. On the triple clamp I'm pretty sure some of the Italian companies have had billet triples for the 790 adventure for a while.
Hi, nice video!... one question, I have a 2022 890 ADV R and I want to do a weight reduction on this bike... do you know how much weight can be reduced changing wheels, exhaust, decat... etc?? Thanks!
You can drop 30+ lbs off of that bike easily if not more depending on your budget. There is 7 lbs of unsprung and rotating weight that can be lost using our single sided rotor kit. That's huge and really helps suspension work. You can use our rack eliminator kit to lose the rear handles and rack and go just fender. There is a couple lbs with the air box and major HP gains. A decat is worth about 4.5 lbs. Narrower rims toss a couple lbs each as well. Also check out our 'Diet Parts' section on our site. It's loaded with items we thing are major weight reducers. Here is the link for your model here: www.rottweilerperformance.com/new-category-11/
Not a dumb question at all, but we do not unfortunately. We just moved the rear sensor to the front and made a small billet carrier to mount the rear in the front at the bottom of the fork so that it also read from the same ABS ring.
@RottweilerPerformance was there any issues derived from it? Excluding not having abs or tc. Advrider conversation on it end with "could cause issues" seems like no one on that forum has tried.
Shoot us a link if you will. No issues at all and not sure why anyone would think there would be but not know the answer to it. The bike just things things are perfect in terms of wheel slip all the time. That's about it. Pretty simple, but you know how forums can be...@@houjous5131
I noticed you are using a combination of KTM Powerparts aluminum handguards with what seems to be Cycra HCM handlebar mounts. Does that help in increasing the clearance between the Brembo MC and the handguard bar?
Certainly, and we would agree that would be an awesome bike, but this bike is very different and for different riders. The only reason we raced this bike in the Sonora Rally was to test parts durability and the bike itself to see what could go wrong with it. The good news is that nothing substantial failed and we placed 9 seconds out of third OVERALL PRO behind Ricky Brabec and Skylar Howes. On a 790... Mission accomplished and it turned way more heads than a 450RR would in the same position. That was really the goal.
I want to do the pro intake and decat tube, leaving the stock muffler on my rally. Should i do a remap or power commander? Or can i leave it without any remapping?
You can certainly leave the mapping stock. There is no harm in that at all and the stock system will simply continue to map at 14.7 air fuel ratio just fine. The bike DOES NOT get lean with these changes. That is carburetor thinking. The stock system has narrow band O2's that monitor the exhaust and just keep everything at 14.7 in closed loop, which is safe. That being said, you are leaving some really good extra power on the table without mapping. So the answer is, yes it's safe, but you are missing out on some good extra ponies. Either way, you will love the airbox mods.
The digital mapping is great, but harder to see in the sun, so we had to make a shade for it that you can see in our Sonora Rally videos on days after day one. They weigh about the same as all the other crap and are just simple. Kind of 'Kindle' like.
To be honest, I just went and looked for you and it has no marks on it and I just can't remember what we ended up with. I think, it's just the KTM bend as we have a few of those laying around. The stock bend has way too much pull back for our liking and are cramped, but have some good bar real estate.
Alex is now over at Solid Performance doing great work with them. That's where we are sending our stuff now and have been extremely happy with the results they are giving us.
Anything is possible, but this one is designed for the 7/890 Adventure. If you are handy, you might be able to make this work, but that would be up to you.
Any interest or development in air intake breathing cleaner air from the battery location area. Breathing from a cleaner location is something I’d be interested in.
We looked into that, but there are a number of problems with that. First, you are putting the filter right in the customer's face, which can get a bit on the noisy side. Keeping things under the seat and next to the muffler is more ideal for that. Second, you would have to recreate the velocity stacks and that costs quite a bit in mold costs which would have to be passed on to the customer. Third, the flow of air would not be as direct and bending things around tends to lose velocity which is part and parcel why our intake designs work so well is that we try not to force air to change directions too many times. Fourth, you would have to make a battery relocation kit, and that's costs more money which also must be passed on to the customers and also adds more vendors and parts to the kit. Fifth, you would dramatically reduce plenum space for air to be pulled from and sixth, the size of the filter would probably end up much smaller, and therefore load up much quicker. Seventh, where it currently breaths has not been found to be an issue. Pretty much ever dirt bike in the world breaths from a similar location and so far our current design has held up very well in very dusty climates. That's about the long and the short of it for us. We like the thinking you are doing, but we hope we illustrated well why we designed our system the way that we did.
Great video by a great company that has fantastic products with superior performance and support for my orange monster. Shut up and take my money $$$$ LOL
Hey, got another question for you - mostly unrelated to this video. Do you know if the motominded - Stacked Stout Mount you sell fits the tft? I'm looking into putting a exc-f head light on instead of a tower, one less thing to break when I yeet my bike. I just need to figure out how to keep the tft connected to keep it street legal.
If TFT you mean the stock dash, we are not sure. It has very specific mounting points, so you would probably have to fabricate something. The bike will run without the dash, but you kind of don't want to do that. Hopefully we understood your question correctly.
@@RottweilerPerformance Thanks for the reply, you understood the question exactly. Definitely the redundant answer ive been getting of. I'll have to figure out my next step as I'm not a fabricator by nature XD. I've been looking for a headlight replacement that is cheap to replace if/when it breaks which is why i'm looking everywhere but at the most obvious spots (rally towers) I'm looking to take my 890 into a turkey run in September then probably a full blown enduro next spring - So I'm in the midst of bulletproofing, lightening and stiffening the bike while trying to keep it fully street legal.
@@houjous5131 We raced a 790 in a Hare and Hound Hooligan class once and we used a 500 EXC front mask and it worked perfectly. What you can do is use a 500 EXCV front fender (it will bolt directly to that bike) and then the 500 EXC headlight mask will fit into the front fender (the mask has pins that fit into it) and then you just use the rubber straps that go around the forks for the upper part. Then you could wire in a Baja Designs XL 80 light or a Cyclops offering. Then all you would need to do is figure out how to mount the dash. The bike will run without it though if you just need to get through one event but you won't know what's happening with it if there is an issue. Hope this helps.
Man I get the race bike function over form but I simply couldn’t ride a butt ugly headlight sticking out so far there has to be a way to make it look better

RP it is like legal cheating, love it.
Ha! Love that. Thanks for the comment.
Great video by a great company that has fantastic products with superior performance and support for my orange monster. Shut up and take my money $$$$ LOL
Haha! Love it and thank you for the kind words.
Hi. Can you give a link for samco coolant hoses? I can't find it anyware.
Edit:
Ok I found it in your post under film.
@@RottweilerPerformance lots of great help - thanks!
Man I get the race bike function over form but I simply couldn’t ride a butt ugly headlight sticking out so far there has to be a way to make it look better
Awesome video, a few things to add to the shopping list :) Pro intake and Arrow exhaust installed (with sidestand delete), next is the power commander. BnB make a good tough aluminium bashplate if you're in OZ
Hi can’t seem to find the fuel. Tank it avavliable yet? 3:56
Hi Timothy, the RP Auxiliary Fuel Tank hasn't been released yet. We hope to get those up on the website soon, so stay posted!
What type of rallys allow this size of bike?
Most of the time they’ll just find a class for you and fit you in. Some of them may not for safety reasons like Dakar, but for the Sonora Rally they had an ‘Adventure’ class just for us.
Would you have a video like this for a Husqvarna 701 Enduro ? TY
We don't currently but we are working up to doing more of these because they are quite popular. We do have this build linked below in blog form that was also very popular. www.rottweilerperformance.com/blog/into-the-void-building-an-omega-rally-701/
@@RottweilerPerformance I’ll check it out. Thank you !
@@Lowdown13blues You got it!
What happened to the power commander 5 for the 890 adv?
The 5th generation Power Commanders have reached their EOL (end of life) and those are currently being sunset for all models. The Power Commander 6 is now available for the 890 ADV and we are carrying those on our website here: www.rottweilerperformance.com/dynojet-power-commander-6-for-ktm-890-adventure/
@@RottweilerPerformance when can we expect pre-made maps for them? Like you have for the 5's?
@@emoservedwithfries Yes, and we are currently working on converting all of those over. All will still be supported with the PC6.
How can i get a rottweiler shirt?
Website shop
Kitchen or workshop...or hospital?
All of the above...
What i liked?
You are a good presenter. Clear and simple information.
But the best was I didn't have to look at the hideous KTM headlights, nor too much disgusting orange colour.
You bought a bike for 15k and add
10k😩
No way! Are you kidding us?? It was more like $20k...
