I will definitely use these exercises for my painful hip bursitis. I also have switched to a higher protein low carb diet to help with any inflammation. This has helped tremendously. Walking with my toe striking/landing first is a wonderful way to relieve any residual pain on those days when I am having more inflammation. I dream of the day when this is healed completely. I had to previously use a walker and wheelchair at times but now can do most of my usual activities with minimal pain. Love this channel!
Tysm for this! I fractured my pelvis on the left side in a traffic accident when I was 36 & developed bursitis in my left hip from walking without engaging my groin area due to the pain & tightness in my pelvis. Although it’s been over 15 years since then I still occasionally have issues with bursitis in my hip, mainly in winter so these exercises should help a lot. Much appreciated.
Please please, encourage people with long term "bursitis " to be evaluated for a torn gluteus medius. Diagnostically looks so much like bursitis. But you keep getting worse. By the time I had my surgery this April, the surgeon said I had probably had a tear for 5-8 years. Hence I had atrophied tissue. I am doing better,( post surgery) but I will never have full strength because of the trophies tissue. Biggest cohort is women from 50 to 75. I am 70. It does requir an MRI for diagnosis. Hope this helps someone
@@rosefarr2748 That is so frustrating. I react well to cortisone for other issues but not this. I will tell you it is a long recovery -1 year- with rigorous PT, but 3 months in for me, very worth it. They repaired my gluteus medius( tear was even more severe when they got in there than MRI showed) gluteus minimus -medium tear and they removed my bursa . Try another orthopedic surgeon perhaps? But be sure this is a surgery they regularly do and are affiliated with a PT group that understands the detailed protocol for recovery. I’m in RI, and lucky to have had one of the best surgeons for this procedure.
Thank you Guys ;) Hip Bursitis sure is an aggravating pain. Your stretches are helping relieve that pain. Thanks to Mike for the demonstration and Bob for the standing stretches
Mine are SO painful, I actually had an orthopedic surgeon offer to remove my bursa! My PT was set against it. You have convinced me this would be unwise even more so! Ty!
I’ve had bursitis off and on for years due to my EDS so I always appreciate good bursitis exercises. Found the last exercise particularly interesting. You said that walking on tiptoes takes the pressure off joints. Many in my family regularly walk on tiptoe. Many of us also have EDS. Wonder how many of us were intuitively doing it to make our poor, aching joints feel better.
I also have bursitis and hEDS. Stretching exercises always help my symptoms even if it’s just 5 minutes worth. But when I’m hurting too much I can put ice packs on my hips and relieve the pain and spasms.
I had hip bursitis really bad that hurt mostly at night. then I cut out the center part out of my mattress topper which relieved that pressure point. Now because of rigorous cardiac rehab it's back again. I thought it was because of increased walking (more than my usual 5-6 miles per week). I do child pose I will add that table top pose. Good luck to all.
Side hip pain some days is unbearable, like today lol! Perfect timing guys. Can't wait to try these out, thanks! 👍💪✨ Edit: last night before bed did some of the exercises presented, woke up without the danged pain! 🤩
Thanks for linking the older video, too. That one shows a bit more lenient movements for us fatties who aren’t as flexible because of bellies and thighs 😂
Mine hurts on the sides of my hips and down sides of thighs when I lay on at night. So I haven't had any good sleep for several years. I fall sleep but am wakened up in bad pain and switch and same over continuous all night. I'm so wore out
@@therose5138 so sorry you experience it as well. I don't know, I've tried getting to what is the cause, but it is like the doctors don't believe me quite frankly. I'm just trying to research on my own, but come up short for sure
Is it bursitis when the top of the pelvic bone and to the tailbone hurts, and sometimes lower back? I do have severe oesteoarthritis so it could be that too.
I’m so grateful for this channel! Sincerely thank you! I have a tendency or at least others refer me as being a smart a✨😵💫. So I pray any comments of the past I hope you both don’t take them wrong. Kinda my own therapy for other issues. Love you guys because your technique really works and to me it has been a God send 🤘🏼.
I had a fall four years ago and I had an MRI what does it mean when the tech that read my MRI said that there was a possible tear how come they can't tell ? I had a PRP last November and it has helped alot trying to strengthen my hips by cycling and stretches. When I had my bursa pain it was mostly on my knee of course my ortho doctor only says I needed to lose weight
I’ve had issues with my right hip but it’s improving,my problem now is I’m 69 and work part time for FedEx ground and to hookup double trailers with a dolly that weighs about 2000 Ibs About 5 weeks ago I was moving a dolly to a trailer and felt some give on the left side of my collarbone. It hurt but nothing crazy. Ever since when I reach for something with my left there is what I call a popping or a clicking noise or feeling. I’ve been to a chiropractor and he’s not sure what it is. It doesn’t hurt terrible but it very uncomfortable. Any idea what it is or what to do to correct. I’m restoring an antique truck and this is making it tough to work on it
Of course we ultrasonographers know there usually is no “bursitis “ at least no visible fluid in trochanteric bursa. It is gluteus medius tendinitis. 10:58
I heard that hip exercises can significantly improve flexibility and reduce lower back pain. Is this true? Also, how often should these exercises be performed for the best results?
How about lifting a 30 pound tortoise a few times a day!??Im in my 70s and getting on all 4s is difficult. What about the exercises you did last week? The tiptoe feels good and i dont seem to limp doing it.

I has two tears shown from on mri and they recommended a cortisone shot for bursitis even after that.

@Bob want to ask you with all these weakness and injuries we get in our body how do we strengthen our hips n rest can u do a video on this 😢
Thank you so much. I could not understand why I have so much pain in my hips.
Of course!
I suffered with bursitis for several years. Walking every day and strength training finally cured it.

Thanks, I need this. I have been using child's pose with one problem, hand and wrist arthritis. Any suggestions?
You have to wear protection gear for your wrist then
Well, sadly many 60+ year old people are unable to get on all fours now.
Any thoughts on that happening?
I wouldnt be able to get on my knees now after several falls, I can just about do it if I kneel on a thick cushion.
There are some alternatives in here
I'm 83 and no problem getting down on floor. Hope it works.
@@BobandBrad thanks
Do it on your bed
What happens when the hip bursa ruptures? So painful when your tissue has to absorb that fluid!

Can I do these exercises if I had a THR?
I heard that hip exercises can significantly improve flexibility and reduce lower back pain. Is this true? Also, how often should these exercises be performed for the best results?
Yes. Been working on that for over a year with PT. Back pain much reduced.
My left hip bothers me the most, but I can't cross my leg on either side.
Hopefully this helped!
Is there an alternative way to do the 2nd stretch where you are on hands and knees? I have 2 bad knees and it's pretty much impossible for me to kneel
About to try shockwave therapy for hip bursitis 🤞🤞
Let us know how it goes!
Did it help you? It didn’t help me, had two prp treatments and two shock wave therapy…and I’ve had bursitis for 9 months now. It sucks.

We are trying to stay away from the banter because we get a lot of comments that people don't like it

Same but 68
You can try searching modified versions - in bed, in chair, lying down, holding onto something, etc
Just rest and apply ice packs twice a day. I have been doing this for the last couple years when mine flares up .
