I was told for years that I had degenerative arthritis in my hips and it was just going to get worse. I went to PT several times, the exercises did not help. I moved and got a new PCP. He referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. After X-rays, he told me that I had bone against bone, which explained why I could barely walk. No PT was going to improve it. Thankfully, I had 2 hip replacements and it was life changing. That’s when PT really made a significant impact. If your hip pain is ongoing and not improving, please have your doctor and check it out. Two and a half years after my last surgery, I am walking/jogging 2.5 miles 5x a week and in the best shape I’ve been in years. By heartfelt love to all of you having to deal with the pain!
Thanks for your story. I've tried PT, and have been debating getting surgery, but I'm holding off because I would like to continue with Judo. Apparently, Judo and hip replacements don't go well together. Still, I know people who had hip replacements, and I've heard nothing but good things. I'll still miss my only physical form of recreation though.
Thanks for showing BOB, I miss him. Thank you guys for continuing to give us such great exercises. I been having pain and this video has helped a lot. I' m doing all. I feel better stronger.
I liked them all. Joined a gym. Follow Bob and crew. Eat healthy, eat less. 78 YO. Lost over 45 lbs., and dropping It's tough but feels great. Thanks all.
I lost 30 lbs of my chubbiness thru fasting, eating healthy, growing my own sprouts. I can feel every hard surface I'm sitting on since I have lost some of the fat on my bum and legs.
Hello! This video, like God’s grace, just popped up on my feed 3 days ago. I have widespread arthritis and over the summer quite suddenly became unable to bear weight on the right leg. Xrays revealed I need a THR. In the meantime though, the stress from the excruciating pain, the sadness over not being able to hike-or even stroll!- in the woods has really taken a toll on me. Began doing these exercises ( this is my 3rd day) and ALREADY NOTICING decreased pain and I can walk more comfortably a little further than I could 3 days ago. THANK YOU for giving me hope!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Nice seeing Bob again. I do many of these exercises regularly. I find them very helpful and recommend them. Thanks for your good presentation of the proper procedures & occasions for performing each exercise.
Good to see Bob. I have tried all the stretches sadly the cure created more pain than normal . Now when I wake up I walk it off after 20 minutes I'm able to work out and play golf. I've learned to to live with it.
I had a popping injury to the front of my hip in 2007. I lived with it until now. It has severely limited my activity. Try to find good physical therapy or you'll eventually end up with surgery. It looks like that's where I'm headed after ignoring the issue for seventeen years.
I have thighmaster tools to help with stretching. I appreciate the advice about 30 seconds and how much as my repetitions! Mike, I am glad you are helping. I tried doing laps to help after the wreck in 2012. I would get out of the pool and I needed a cane. I wanted to crawl. An ambulance hit my bumper and tore the fender off the gas tank. I have limped ever since. I am 66. Thanks for your show/vlog. My favorite exercise was the chair exercises. I have polished concrete floors.
Always like the hip exercises as I have had hip problems for about 40 years. No I am not going to have any surgery now at 81. however i like the extender exercise I can still hold to something and get a pretty good reach .Thanks you Guys.Your encouragement is appreciated.
I’ve been suffering with pain on the outside of my hip for years. I go to PT every week. Some of your stretches are familiar, some are not. I’m going H to keep these ‘ practice. My ortho doc thought I had bursitis but the shot did not help. He sent me for MRI & determined I had tendinitis in my minor glut muscle. So he decided to do a PRP shot . It helped a very little. I hope your stretch & strengthen techniques work
I’ve only had a chance to try the first and second hip exercises in this routine before I went out for my daily walk. This is like a miracle! My walk has 300 steps up from a beach and then a circuit through the woods for a total of 45 minutes. I have always struggled with the steps because of tight hamstrings and overall hip issues that I have never figured out what the problem is. Poor posture or being 70 maybe. I went up those steps today like I was 20 years younger! I’ve never been this loose in 4 years of massages and chiropractics adjustments. I watched the whole video when I got home and I’m going to make this video my regular go-to. thank you. Hi to Bob, hope you’re well. Welcome Mike. You guys are the bomb.
Hello from Montreal Quebec Canada! I watch your channel often as I’ve been living with hip osteoarthritis since I was 41 when my child was born, it destroyed both my hips, and I finally had 1 right side, a dual mobility hip replacement recently. After 19 years. Eventually, I will have to have the left one done. In the meantime, while my right hip is healing as it’s been nine weeks since my surgery. I will need to exercise my left hip and try to get it to last as long as possible before the next operation. I watched the whole video. I’d like to save it somewhere to show my physiotherapist when I see her next time. Perhaps I can use some of these exercises. Right now my operated leg on the right side feels a little bit longer than the left side, which is normal while it’s healing. The doctor said that it’s actually the same lane so I need my side muscles exercised in order to have them feel like the same length. That is what my physiotherapist told me. Personally I find that the exercises you’ve showed us that strengthens the side. Muscles are the best for me right now. On both legs, of course. I’m looking forward to hearing what my physiotherapist says about this video you’ve made. It’s a really excellent video, and I appreciate you guys putting it together. Take care and have a beautiful day.
Jam-packed advice. Wow. I'm bookmarking this one. I'm hoping this will get me through the agony I feel each day and night. A big thanks to Brad and Mike.
Thank you for your videos. I am 70 and have trouble with hips, knees and lower back. Have had some issues for years but in the last year I have been really struggling. In the last 2 months was diagnosed with osteoarthritus in my knees and left hip. Am finding exercises and stretches that have given some relief.
❤ love you guys I'm 85 and a half-fractured lower back waiting to get well but have gotten very stiff in the pelvis and hip area, pushing the Walker now, having no balance now. Keep up your good work
I liked all the stretches . My sister had both hips replaced at 58/59yrs old. I refuse to have that surgery so thank you for all you do in showing us good stretches and explaining every detailed movement. I’ll be 65 next month and walk a mile 3-5 days a week 🙌🏻
I greatly appreciate all the stretching and strengthening exercises you show. I am a massage therapist and refer a lot of clients to watch your videos.
I put up with hip arthritis pain for years until it was too much and went for a replacement. After waking up from surgery, I could have kicked myself for waiting so long. The pain was gone, and the rehab was relatively quick and easy. Exercises, stretches, and copious amounts of aspirin or other NSAID's helped before choosing surgery but eventually it turned into a burning that would not go away and the wait for surgery was about three months.
I have been having a lot of hip pain lately so this video popping up for me to watch was great! I have tight hip flexors and I have never tried the stretch laying on the bed and hanging the leg off and letting gravity stretch the flexor. I can't wait to try that. Thanks!
Gentleman, great show. I’m an old guy and have been doing Chair Yoga at the YMCA. It’s good to know that the routine we are doing follows the exercises you demonstrated. However, we are doing our routine three days a week. As a former athletic guy, I thought, at first, this was a joke. However over time I’ve noticed a marked improvement in my reduced pain and improved flexibility. Move it or lose it!! 👍. Love you guys, especially Bob ❤️❤️🩹💪
All of your videos are helpful, but this one really applies to me most and I appreciate it. Going to add these to my daily routine. Mike is doing a great job, btw. Shout outs to Bob, too! Favorite move you showed: The last one, with the legs out to the side. Hard for me, but not painful. Thanks, guys!
I liked all the exercises..I will be working on strengthing my hips this winter as I have no time to walk anymore like I use to!! Oh from Indiana & 73 yo!!I saved the video
Hi Bob! 👋 I'm going to try some of these exercises. My hips are tight, and I'm developing arthritis in my right hip. Very painful at times. Thanks, guys!
