I asked a school principal friend, what does it take to be a good teacher? He said you have to thoroughly know your subject. But more importantly, you have to LIKE your students! When you genuinely like the people you're teaching, you're kind and compassionate and want them to master what you have to teach. Teachers who shame and belittle do so much damage.
Abbie I believe what you’re doing is going on what the ancient Canadian Indians called “ vision quest”. You are seeking beauty and solitude to find the beauty and individuality of yourself and your spirit by having these adventures. Thank you greatly for sharing. I am lifted up by your videos. Hi from Canada!
Hi, just to say thank you Abby for doing what you are doing. I left UK for New Zealand in 2010 and the area in UK I miss is the Lake District. I have always had a love affair with the Lakes ever since was taken up in early 1970's and then year on year to view the Golden Eagles in Riggindale. I had my first holiday with out parents with my best friend and have gone back more times than I can count. So watching you do the walks I used to do brings back memories and touch me even though I am now 10,000 miles away. Keep doing what you are doing and will enjoy revisiting the LD over and over.
Thank you for another great video! I was so chuffed to bump into you on the Quantocks, on Sunday, apologies for being a little bit star struck! I was so shocked to see you and then with myself for having the courage to go back and speak to you I didn't actually know what to say! My friend said the following "I love how you met and chatted to Idris Elba and had no clue but you recognised and got a photo with a wild world RUclips celeb and were totally in awe. It's just so perfectly You." And thank you for suggesting a picture, I would have been kicking myself if I hadn't got one!
Abbie, a new title for you, Mountain Destroyer. I had a good laugh when the cairn collapsed, it’s happened to me as well. I then spent ages trying to put it back.
One of my favourite hikes from the ODG. You had wonderful weather for it. I learned to climb at the back of the ODG, great memories of a wonderful place. Thanks for the video.
Love you videos, the places you take us and the honesty you share of your journey in life. Keep doing what you are doing, your helping more people than you could ever imagine. I’m looking forward to doing some of the walks this summer myself. 😊
If it helps, your pretty much already my mountain leader as your videos give me the confidence to keep pushing towards different routes. Just started my hiking adventure a few years back and this year is going to be 'hitting the mountains', time after building up my stamina last year. (mainly white peaks area of the peak district). Starting with kinder, then I'm just gonna go for the top and do Scafell Pike and a few others. Without utubers like yourself I just wouldn't have the confidence. Keep em coming.
I watch a lot of your videos but only occasionally comment but after your DofE and ML experiences it says a lot about you where you are at today. Stunning day with amazing views and nice to see you finally did pass your ML Award, cheers Alan
Congratulations on gaining your ML! And especially after that initial discouraging start at the hands of that first instructor. Shame on him and his approach whoever he was, and said more about him than you. I really enjoyed your video and commentary which gave a real feel for being to these places, and I know as in pre-covid days I was a regular visitor to the ODG and know this walk so well. You also remind me how much I miss it as the Lakeland fells used to be my playground as well as training ground in all seasons. Keep on enjoying it all - as it does breathe life into ones spirits.
You made it look easy. We have walked the in the Langdales many times and love it. Only now in our middle years are we trying to film it. You did a great job!
Through life, You’ll meet humans that You think never should have had the job they are doing for a living. If someone treats You bad - turn it 180 degr. Your’re not the problem. The things You’ve achieved so early in Your live, You can be so proud. You are a lifechanger for many people. You make a difference and You make the world a better place. I think it’s the most meaningfull in live In my eyes You are Bada.. ❤️
Beautiful, Abbie - THANK YOU for this video! My husband and I walked from Dungeon Ghyll to Stickle Tarn and back on a gloriously sunny day in mid September this year - we made some fabulous memories and it's lovely to relive my day and see that gorgeous view back down beside Stickle Ghyll so soon on RUclips!
Sorry to hear your experience was knocked by a man who obviously was on a personal ego trip. 🙄..and kudos for returning with strength and new found vigour. Great upload Abbie and a beautiful place.
I live near this walk and do it often - highly recommended. The view from Bowfell at sunset is exceptional. If you're a strong walker you can extend the day by starting up Pike of Blisco and over Crinkle Crags to Bowfell - you won't regret it!
Great Vlog at last, these ones are one of the reasons I started watching you in the first place, now days as the asthma and COPD is taking its toll on me, my time in the great outdoors in less and less. but you still inspire me and still help me with my PTSD and general mental health,
Abby- love all your videos! Uk looks absolutely beautiful! You are all so fortunate to have access to such wonderful hiking trails and we are fortunate to have Abby to take us with her on her hikes! Thanks Abby
I’m so pleased you did this hike to “rewrite the script” of that former bad experience. You’ve written a much better version, Abbie… most excellent! So proud of you! 💚🪷🌞
We love the Langdale valley, we’ve hiked a number of the mountains there, (Crinkle crags, Bowfell, Side pike & Pike o’Blisco) it’s my favourite part of the Lake District National park.
YAY! Love hearing your theme music again, and always adore your trail vids. I sure appreciate all the hard work it takes to get theses out. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you for the ruthless climb(geology, history and Keats, Burns 🥵 and other literature giants who influenced your days on 🌎 with sensitivity and Compassion.Great vid !
What a great day you had, and thank you for reminding me of some of mine….I’ve not done it that way round for decades. Hope it helps to heal your pain from before, well done for pressing on.
Stunning and what a great opportunity to complete the circuit. I haven't mentioned it before, but love the intro map & music. Speaking from personal experience, a minority of teachers cause severe damage.
I still remember being belittled on an orienteering course some years back by an instructor. I’m pleased to say I am now an OS Map God and fart in his general direction 😋
Although I walk loads in the rolling hills of Suffolk. I'd love to be able to walk in Cumbria as confidently as you do Abbie , probably easier on a clear day with good visibility. But my navigation skills aren't quite there yet. Fantastic video , thank you so much 👍 😊
Hi Abbie great video me and my wife are going to the Lake District in the spring could you advice me on good walk to do for the day that takes in a lot of scenery many thanks
A lot of walkers have that one walk or experience that they need to do again for whatever reason. For me it's Corrour to Spean Bridge .. but that's another story
I am so annoyed that your tutor made you feel like that! some people are just vile! well done you though, you showed him! I love your vlogs, I reckon he could learn a thing or two from you now! including how to treat people! x

So so true.
Sod Mountain Leaders, the Mountains are about freedom and beauty not hierarchy. Love your vids.

Hi from Canada!
Thank you Abbie for letting me join you on a warm sunny day hike, with blue skies, on this grey cold day in December 2022…… Stay Wild!

You're amazing Abby you just always remember that, what you do inspires me so much, I wish everyone was like you xXx
Oh to be 25 again. How could that day not put a smile on any face?

Yet another wonderful walk Abbie. So many beautiful spots, all the best.
No one owns the mountains, the mountains own us . ❤️☮️ Abbie.
👋👍🤗❤️ Absolutely beautiful area

Good job going back to an uncomfortable setting and showing off your mastery! You nailed it! ⛰️
Congratulations on gaining your ML! And especially after that initial discouraging start at the hands of that first instructor. Shame on him and his approach whoever he was, and said more about him than you.

I was up Bowfell last week with my walking group. It was misty with a high wind. I wish it was sunny like your day.
I was in the Langdales in the summer hiking the peaks...... nowhere better!
So glad you enjoyed this walk, its where I was introduced to walking by my dad and 50 years on its still high on my list of happy places.
That is awesome!
Great film Abbie. The Langdales are a very special place. Especially on such a stunning day! Many thanks.
Ah, I remember leading groups along exactly that route 20 years back... Good memories! I love Bowfell. It's been way too long...
I have a special place in my heart for Bowfell. Very first mountain i climbed.

Thank you Abbie, I covered part of your walk only the week before you and it was a little wet!
Love your videos, especially the longer form videos
Great video as always, great work

Thank you so much!
Really like your video, never been to this area of the lakes, but it looks amazing 🤩
I’m so pleased you did this hike to “rewrite the script” of that former bad experience. You’ve written a much better version, Abbie… most excellent! So proud of you! 💚🪷🌞
Nice to see your back on with your walking videos.

Yay, thank you!
Thank you Abbs' again. I've never done the Langdales, strange. But hope to resolve this soon.
Go for it!
A great teacher doesn't knock you down, but lifts you up. Glad you have moved on from that bad experience to become the leader yours should have been.
I had an amazing night at the old dungeon gill, live music, loads of Guinness, with a hangover for the ages, to sick to climb the next day 😂
Thank you for the ruthless climb(geology, history and Keats, Burns 🥵 and other literature giants who influenced your days on 🌎 with sensitivity and Compassion.Great vid !
Abbie. Thank you. x
What a great day you had, and thank you for reminding me of some of mine….I’ve not done it that way round for decades. Hope it helps to heal your pain from before, well done for pressing on.
Did some of that route with the kids in September this year. Fantastic to see some new places to put on the "must visit" list. Thanks for sharing !
Beautiful day for it stunning scenery was there in August had to come home early got covid
Beautiful hike Abbie !
Stunning and what a great opportunity to complete the circuit.
I haven't mentioned it before, but love the intro map & music.
Speaking from personal experience, a minority of teachers cause severe damage.
Glad you enjoyed it and good to know about the map and music! Always tempted to mix things up but seems folk like it :)
Great video babe, enjoyed this 👍🏻

Great film, what else have you got stashed away :)
Kind of sorry to hear you’ve had a bit of a challenging journey… but then again, that seems to be generally true of the most inspiring people…
A lot of walkers have that one walk or experience that they need to do again for whatever reason. For me it's Corrour to Spean Bridge .. but that's another story
Great to see this, too steep for me now but really appreciate seeing the fellls again. Do you follow a map or Wainwright route?
25years young x
I saw absolutely nothing from the top of Bowfell when I went - bad luck with the weather
On another note, why don't you swim in the lakes? Are they too cold?
what is the intro music anyone?
I am so annoyed that your tutor made you feel like that! some people are just vile! well done you though, you showed him! I love your vlogs, I reckon he could learn a thing or two from you now! including how to treat people! x
