I was going through major depression and went to Pompeii alone to attend this concert. Almost missed my flight , cab driver couldn't find the hotel ( in a nearby town) and had like 30 minutes to pick up my ticket from the office. I had to push through the crowd gathering outside waiting to attend the concert to get to the office. I'm sorry, people. That year we learned my grandma had cancer. Hearing Wish you were here hit on whole other level. This was the song they played to close the gig. When I heard that intro I looked at David jamming on stage with his glasses on. Gilmour’s voice is something else. Most singers aren’t able to do their old songs justice as they age but David still has the physical and emotional ability to to tap into that “thing” which makes the song what it is.
It's also impressive because it was Roger Waters that sang this song originally, and Roger was more of a screamer than a singer nearing the end of his classic run with Pink Floyd (I consider their classic run from "Dark Side" to "The Final Cut".). It's difficult to do that.

I agree with the sentiment, but everyone on stage was wearing sunglasses. I think it wasn't so much being cool as eye protection from some of the lighting effects.
We should all be thankful that we were lucky enough to be blessed by this band while in our youth,(and to this day), I'm 55 and it is still on all my Playlists. Poor kids these days, how will they look back on the talent- less garbage of so called music that is pumped out today? Sad. No bands will ever be able to touch floyd and the handful of other bands from our generation. Noone has even gotten close. Technology increase,s musical talents decrease.
Wow I love the opening to this song. Hey Pink Floyd you have no idea how you've helped me get thru some tough times in my life. You were with me during all the good times too! I love you guys. Namaste
Gilmour’s voice, in my honest opinion, keeps getting better as he ages. He had an incredibly beautiful voice in his youth, as well he still sounds amazing singing all of his earlier music which is not the case of most older musicians. In fact age has seemed to enhance his tonal abilities. I can not think of another vocalist that this applies to. He sings Comfortably Numb and Smile equally amazing. Not to mention his guitar playing.

God has arrived down on earth and given us a pure musical genius ( David Gilmour )
1979 track from The Wall that still kicks ass after all these years !
progtoeternity The only way I can describe Run Like Hell is evil but so fucking good! It’s just so perfect. (If You don’t understand why I called it evil, I suggest that You watch the movie ‘Pink Floyd: The Wall’)
WATCHED IT BEING PLAYED LIVE BEFORE... LITERALLY CAME OUT OF MY SEAT!!!!
And 20 years from now, we will still crank it up !!!😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶
65 and still loving it especially thru this virus
Just incredible, I was the pulse concert in 1994 in Philly and it was the greatest!!! Long live Floyd!!
You might be cool but you'll never be beared David Gilmour wearing sunglasses and playing Run like hell on a beat up Tele to 50k people cool.
love this comment
This is the best comment on RUclips
Pretty cool fer sher!
I agree with the sentiment, but everyone on stage was wearing sunglasses. I think it wasn't so much being cool as eye protection from some of the lighting effects.

I'm pretty sure that there's a heaven above where Gilmour is the supreme god of all!
David Gilmour, "THE GUITARIST". Enough said!
No Roger, No Nick, No Rick ((( Very-Very Thank You, David ! - for this Music !
Floyd is also on all 3 of my children's playlists as well. That's how you keep it alive and going forever.
Wow I love the opening to this song. Hey Pink Floyd you have no idea how you've helped me get thru some tough times in my life. You were with me during all the good times too! I love you guys. Namaste
Best Gilmour
that intro.....gives me goosebumps! SO FREAKIN' COOL!
This music is so ahead of its time, unreal.
AMAZING light show
No words can describe.
I love their music ,the light show OUTSTANDING.DAVID GILMORE PHENOMENAL guitarist.
The coolest performance of all time in the universe!! Yeah, I said it 😎
Truly the best performance of run I've ever heard. And I was lucky enough, and old enough see Pink Floyd live.
This man is God of the guitar. No question !!!! Why is it that I get goosebumps when I listen to anything he plays ???
There's no way I can't love this band, and David Gilmour is unmatched in that voice... It's a gift from the gods. What guitar and that lyrics ?? I travel to the universe and return to Earth. Thank you beloved master 👏👏✌💪☺

agradezco infinitamente al universo el haber crecido con esta música
David looks like he's just popped down the pub for a pint and some scampi and chips.
Jeans, t shirt, some shades. Then whacks some shiitty looking Stratocaster and blows everyone's minds.
David Gilmour: Humble, unpretentious and an absolute genius.👌👌👌
Hate to be that guy...but *telecaster
Hate to be that guy, but *esquire. They’ve already been over this in another comment thread😂
Lee Saunders he’s never owned a shitty looking guitar
Jason Corea Esquires have a single bridge pickup. Telecasters have 2, a bridge and neck pickup
70mjc His has been modified. It’s quite a famous guitar known as the ‘Workmate’ I believe. In fact, it’s one of the only guitars he didn’t auction off recently. You know it’s a killer instrument when it takes priority over the black strat!
How do you get a sound like that? I mean, HOW??? How do you get a sound that literally fills an entire stadium like that?? It's not just the speakers. It's a vision. Wow.
How do you get a sound like that........easy.....
You just have to be David Gilmour.
PA systems and a sound guy that makes 6 figures a year.
It's recorded from the soundboard.
JBL because we wanna hear the truth....
Everything here is the absolute best. The music , the musicianship, the lighting, the atmosphere.
@David Gilmour Thank you!🤩
@David Gilmour I love it!Where do you get such great music from?
@David Gilmour That's why not only me, but millions of people like it!
@David Gilmour Hungary
David Gilmour's music is kind of a personal savior to me. Without his music ... we don't have to worry about that. It's already here. Thanks Dave.
I always liked the mellowness of Gilmore s voice.very soothing.!!!
