The building in the background is a representation of Battersea Power Station, which of course is featured on the cover of the Animals album. In the 80s I fixed Floyd's computers at their studio in Britannia Row in Islington. In their office there was a sketch of Battersea Power Station with the giant pig floating over. Fantastic show. Roger is the king of peace, he is trying to help the poor, the oppressed and to save us from a global disaster. We should all support him.
Roger works for the "elites" as you can see. It is Kinda stupid for him to go after Trump, of all people. It was Roger's hero Julian Assange who exposed the corruption of democrats in 2016 and got Trump elected in the first place - a man of the People. A populist. Roger is just a very confused leftist who thinks the 'rightwing' is his enemy. In the USA the rightwing protects the CONSTITUTION.

More relevant? Not a chance. I saw the original PF, Roger Waters, Davis Gilmour, BritFloyd, and Australian Pink Floyd. Best to worst: 1) Pink Floyd. 2) David Gilmour, 3) Brit Floyd, 4) Roger Waters 5) Australian PF. Original PF played recent PF songs mixed with their classics. The other four played essentially the same set of PF classics. Gilmour's guitars solos can't be replaced because every guitarist is unique, especially Gilmour. Bas is a background rhythm instrument, making it the easiest to replace. As for vocals, Gilmour's voice is much more controlled and melodic. Waters does a lot of screaming/shouting.
@Guitar Player: You've missed the point. It is not about the performance (as you have detailed). It is more about the theme/lyrics that are very relevant even today.
I agree. There is a maxim in musical fashions which is it is not what it is.. but 'when' it is. Waters is the most committed to the creativity of the artist and it should be noted that he transcends his inabilities when compared to skilled musicians with guts and more determinationthan anyone I know. His is a lingua franca for everyman and for moments of real crisis.
Saw Roger on the Us + Them tour a couple of years ago here in Milwaukee. Absolutely phenomenal performance to a packed house. You may or may not like his politics, Waters has always been a very vocal guy but you get your money's worth at his show. He puts many younger acts to shame. One of the best live artists ever.
And if you don't like his politics, go eff yourself. Nobody wants any of you MAGA idiots at a Roger Waters show anyway. Take your fat, stupid, Republican ass to one of his New Hitler rallies.

Johnny Polo: how is it more relevant now than back in 1977? It was very relevant back then when you read the history of politics of the U.K. I really hate when people treat celebs as they 'walk on water' and twist things to suit them. Answer this: if a song is written about a particular country's politics, how can it be more relevant to another county's politics? Do you see how silly your post is?
Johnny Polo except a little fukin problem that it was relevant against politicians like Bush obama hillary and NOT!! Trump! Pink Floyd was a right wing conservative band, not liberal. it's really sad to see Waters selling his soul, and jumping on the politically correct liberal bandwagon, and licking liberals asses :-/ poor old Waters was always a fukin egoistic nihilist dick, no wonder he fucked up the band... now he's fuckin senile too... 👎👎
2:43 Happy to see that Pink Floyd music has an impact on the 20 / 30 year old generation coming from a band that had their best albums in the 70´s . Pink Floyd is the best band of all times. And I was only born in 1974.
I was born '68 , never heard of them until my first job as a baker / confectioner , early one morning someone had an old cassette tape on the work stereo , since that morning Animals has remained one of my favourite albums of all time . Best live version of Pigs I’ve ever heard!!
Roger has more energy than most of new musicians.
Iggy Pop live is also very energetic and lively
But
Passion and Love.
Ozzy was jumping about for a Black Sabbath world tour, Bruce was running around in multiple costumes for the last Maiden tour. ACDC have always been full on for every live gig.
That's 4 Sure!
Gilmours Floyd lovely as it was, always feels nostalgic, while Rogers Floyd feels hard hitting and in the moment.
Except Gilmour gets his musical payback when fans use Waters' solo songs for bathroom and snack breaks!
@@thegracienetwork7847 cant be a floyd fan. any self respecting floyd fan would piss himself and starve so they didn't miss one song no matter who penned it

YES
Also- I have newfound appreciation for Roger. I kinda always loved Gilmour the most and held some resentment about Roger for the fractious nature he brought to the band, but this? Fucking awesome.
Oh yeah! He nearly a laugh but, he’s really a cry! Or crime!!

This has got to be the best ever Pigs live gig!! Period.
The building in the background is a representation of Battersea Power Station, which of course is featured on the cover of the Animals album. In the 80s I fixed Floyd's computers at their studio in Britannia Row in Islington. In their office there was a sketch of Battersea Power Station with the giant pig floating over. Long time ago but it feels like yesterday. I love that album.
Must’ve been cool
Awesome.

My God what a concert show. Only artists from 50 years ago can put on such a show. Phenomenal Roger, God bless you
I dunno, I went to a Rammstein show here in Australia a few years ago and omFg! They even credited Floyd though.
@@rabidbigdog that's fine, but I wouldn't compare Rammstein and Roger Waters or Pink Floyd.
Time moves forward,artists do not.
Since 1977 I was 14 years old listen to Pink Floyd and Roger Waters everyday . Roger is really Pink, because of his lyric and music and his Politic. The album ANIMALS and PROS AND CONS OF HICHHIGHKING are masterpiece . I was very lucky to have experience Roger live concert in 1984 and this tur 2017 in Copenhagen.... Thanks ROGER

Roger Waters!! the world needs people like you!! may that spark you have never end.. I love that song, I can listen to it over and over again. Thank you!! You are our voice, the voice of humanity.
Waters live is really something to see. Very emotional stuff for those of us who still care about each other & where we live.
It's the best performance in history for me. Roger Waters is a genius.
Like no other!
Man, you should have seen his Dark Side tour then. It was the best sound I've ever heard in my life.
I don't know, I don't like the politics side. Roger Waters is a good musician, but I don't like the politics side of it.
@@peckishparrot1041 yep, he’s using his concerts as a staging post to attack politicians and ex presidents that bs should be kept out of it. The music speaks for itself.
@@peckishparrot1041 The you don't like Roger Waters -- he's always been political. He is an artist with an opinion and he is expressing it with his art. It's like the song was written for DT.

Welcome everywhere.
Fantastic show. Roger is the king of peace, he is trying to help the poor, the oppressed and to save us from a global disaster. We should all support him.
I would say John Lennon is the king of peace, but yeah, I don't think Lennon would like Trump either, obviously.
If he were trying to 'help the poor, and oppressed', he wouldn't share the same views as the people responsible for those two groups...
So is the Trump
He should turn his focus to the american indians and eskimos first.
This video matters more now than before.
Roger takes savage of the year award in 2016 how the hell have I not seen this until now

The song is about 3 british politicians, hence the name saying there are 3 different pigs
It's about 3 different ones:)
It used to be about 3 different british politicians, now all 3 seem to fit a single US politician...
He can certainly make his shows appealing, to the current generation with his theatrics! The man is a genius.
Man I love this tune. Love that whole entire Animals album. That was my favorite Floyd record since I first heard it in 1977. Incredible music and lyrics. Thanks for the video!
Wow...very powerful version, One of floyds greatest ever tunes. Utter aggressive power on display here from Roger and his magnificent band.
The faces change over time, but they're oinking the same tune.

40 years on and still relevant..
More so.... in present times.
Stpendous concert and showmanship. Just like Pink Floyd in 1977 performance of WYWH and Animals albums.
I never get tired of watching this.
My favorite song from one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums, beautifully staged and so, so true.
It's my go to after a few beers, Kashmir live too 🍻
Saw Roger on the Us + Them tour a couple of years ago here in Milwaukee.
Saw the same show in NJ IN NEWARK great show fuck the commie talk shit from his living room face to face you would not pop that shit or you get your ass handed to you punk mother.

At a net worth of 310 million, and in one of the most well-known bands in the world, I would have to say that Roger Waters is a well-heeled big wheel.

Animals was good, but nowhere close to the genius of Dark Side Of The Moon.
@@stanleymasterson1135 i recognise how good dark side is but tbh i prefer animals, the wall and wywh
I've been listening to Animals regularly since it came out. But now I'm just addicted to this album for the last 3 weeks. I just can't stop listening to these songs. But the best Floyd album in my opinion is still Wish You Were Here.
It was good. Many "firsts" to this album as a kid. Some I wish weren't ever.
Tough to beat the four album run Floyd had with DSOM, ANIMALS, the wall and WYWH. Unmatched.

My friends and I didn't know about the pig and the other inflatables, people in a family and a fridge bursting with food, before they floated out. It blew our minds. Along with the lighting, pyrotechnics, and performance. Sounds like you had an epic time. Cheers!
What's your favorite Division Bell song? Did you see that concert? Lucky to live in England, if you do.
This song is 1000 times more relevant now than it was when it was recorded 40 years ago.
What did it relate to forty years ago Johnny?
UK Politics, especially concerning Mary Whitehouse. If you really want to know everything about it, look it up.
It was relevant also when Clintons bombed Yugoslavia and when Obama attacked Lybia and Syria.
Amazing. His messages stand always for freedom and love
Is not so much listening to the music for musics sake , but a whole experience , this album never ages , just sooo good.
