    - so Roger, what do you think we can put in the show to make this thing awesome?
    - fireworks
    - Why not? Fireworks are tight!
    - Dezens of extras to represent an army of facist soldiers
    - Ok then, we have to check the budget for that but I think...
    - An airplane crossing the entire stadium and crashing the stage
    - Well that may be over-ambitious but I think we can...
    - That is just for the first song.
    - All rig... what?

My dad is the strongest person I know - and here he was, about to cry. My dad is also a veteran (Navy), and when he got to the part where Roger was telling the story of the veteran who told him that his father would be proud of him, Dad went, "Hell yes!"

      Did you emerge ANTI SEMITIC?🤪😂

    • @voodoochild1975az
      @voodoochild1975az Год назад

@@craigthurlow9308 it's amazing to me how many small minded people that are unable to distinguish between criticism of a government and racism.
The Israeli government is not the Jewish people. It's a government. It sometimes does really bad things to people.
Why do idiots like yourself.demand that Israel and Israel alone get unconditional support from all Americans? Where is the prohibition from even discussing faults of this nation? I dont give my own nation unconditional unquestioning support in all things.... But if I refuse to give that to this Israeli government small minded people such as yourself tar us as anti semites.
What about disagreeing with specific Israeli policies makes me hate all Jews? Can you explain that to me? Or at least why you believe that Israel is the ONE nation on earth no one is allowed to disagree with it?
I am not an anti-Semite. Neither is Roger Waters. You are a small minded person that can't comprehend that maybe, just maybe, Netanyahu is an asshole. Possibly this government is the worst tragedy in history.... A nation born of the worst abuses of fascism... Has a rather fascist looking government. I find that genuinely sad. It's a sad fact of human nature that a certain percentage of kids when bullied... Grow up to be a bully themselves. A government born of genocide and oppression.... Is trying to wipe out and oppress others. The bullied becoming bullies... And the cycle goes ever onwards.
But I find people that suffer no criticism of Israel and attack or insult people for daring to disagree with a government to be sadder still. I don't know that broken logic led you here, the most common reason, I mean, if I had to guess, is that you are an Evangelical, not even a Jew. Most of the blind support of Israel comes from what I call death cults. They want Israel whole for superstitious reasons. It's so their invisible friend in the sky can come back and kill everyyone, end the world and all existence in fire and pain and destruction..... Because he loves us. Lol. Those people honestly scare me a bit. Has anyone noticed how many hard core Christians WANT the world to end in their lifetime? Yikes. Anyway,.for that superstition from religious extremists, Israel must be whole at any cost. Evangelicals are not known for being masters of logic, so that could be how you got here. You might be Jewish. You might feel Israel is trapped by angry neighbors who would wipe out every Jew in Israel given even half a chance. You buy into the fear and have let it consume you. Anything, any atrocity, is fair game for safety and the survival of your nation. Fear and a siege mentality causing you to lose your shit anytime someone has an unkind word for your government.
Maybe you just don't know what the word Anti-Semite means?
But your reasoning is more than something I disagree with, it's genuinely dangerous.
Open your eyes. This Israeli government does NOT deserve your blind faith. It's a government like any other... Corrupt and self serving more often than not. Big on apartheid and racial divisions. I'll let you in on a little secret, NO GOVERNMENT DESERVES BLIND FAITH.
But seriously, how do you get from criticism of a specific government's policies to hatred of an entire race?
For fucks sake, quit calling everyone that has problems with the Israeli government an anti semite. Or explain, seriously, how one means the other.
I think all you are left with is trying to argue Israel is above criticism somehow... And that is just ripe bullshit. But give it a try if you can.
Explain to me how criticism of the policies of a specific government make me hate an entire race. I'm dying to hear this explanation.
See, it's a common thing. Say 'I think Israel should tear down some walls, stop taking land the international community says is illegally seized... Maybe kill less people' If you dare to say those things, it won't beong before some small minded person says I despise all Jews.
So please, enlighten me. Explain how criticizing the Israeli government makes me an anti-Semite. Please.
Also, fwiw, I do not agree with Roger Waters on all things political. For example I think he is being a fucking idiot in regards to Putin. His hatred of Bush and American Whataboutism has blinded him to Putin's evils. His logic is; Putin invaded Ukraine, therefore America was even more wrong to invade Iraq. He's hung up on Bush's wars and can't see the threat of a nuke armed dictator answerable to no one getting grabby with neighbor nations.... Anytime it comes up he spins it back around to the US and Iraq. He's not wrong, but Iraq was the problem 2 decades ago, Ukraine is the problem NOW. Bush is out of office and painting on a ranch. Putin is a war criminal that will kill people in the time it took me to write this. So I think Waters is sometimes a fucking idiot in politics too.
Badass musician though. Some of the best rock concerts in history.
But no, I do NOT agree with him on everything.
But I am GENUINELY fucking tired of being called an anti semite for daring to disagree sometimes with the Israeli government.
So in all sincerity, you need to stop doing that to people or sincerely explain how criticism of that government means someone hates all Jews. Explain that leap of logic or shut the fuck up with your accusation of anti-Semitism
Let me give you a hypothetical.... If an Israeli citizen and Jew were to say 'I don't like Netanyahu, I'm voting for a different party, I'd like to see some changes with how things are run'.... Do they not have that right? By your logic they must be self loathing anti-Semites. To criticize the government is to hate Jews.... So what about all the Jews that criticize their government? They... Are anti-Semites somehow? Explain this, please.
You could maybe argue as an America I shouldn't criticize Israel or it's government.... Except.... I paid for it. The US taxpayer is the only reason Israel exists. If they don't like Americans criticising their government, they are free to return all those trillions we gave them. I don't see telling the US to fuck off with our criticism whilst simultaneously holding their hand out wanting their annual allowance like a spoiled kid.
So please, how do you get from Waters or myself having issues with specific Israeli policies, this is fact, I do have issues.... How do you get from there to clearly I hate all Jews.
Calling me an anti-Semite is one hell of an accusation. You owe me this answer. Explain your leap in logic please.
I flatly reject your accusation and am offended by it. Retract it or explain yourself. And consider not throwing that word around so casually.
Anti-Semitism exists. Focus on the real instances please.
Like I said, your reasoning is straight up dangerous. This is why I am challenging it so harshly.

I went to one of the concerts of this tour. He made 9 river plate stadiums (something close to 700 thousand people) here in Argentina. Been a Pink Floyd fan my entire life and The Wall is one of my favorite albums, if not my favorite. It was the best concert of my life. Never seen anything like it again. I would do anything to get back to that day and watch it all again. We were all crying tears of joy and hugging at the end of it, even with strangers. I think we all knew in that moment that what we lived that day was a life changing experience. I even got the chance to meet him and geting my The Wall copy signed at the door of the hotel he was staying in. He was a gentleman with all of us, very patient and kind.
I remember this song and the start of it. I was standing up in the chair and screaming and applauding by the end of it. It was just 5 mins of concert and it was already the best thing I saw.

I just wanted to say how exceptional Roger Waters' 2013 re-working of the Wall is. Re-visiting a major work like this from the past and actually making it better than it was is an incredible feat. Released in 1979/80, The Wall is Floyd's biggest selling, most epic work. Most artist would leave a classic album as it is and just tour the memories, but this man took on the challenge of re-vitalizing and making it relevant for the 21st century, and succeeded! I bought the DVD thinking it would just be a visit to the past, but will say that it is BETTER than the Wall move of 1982, for sure. You really do not understand the Wall until you see the 2013 DVD by Waters.

I was at the June 30 2000 show of Roger Waters 'In the Flesh', at the Gorge in George, Washington... It is an outdoor venue with the incredible backdrop of the Columbia gorge. That evening, the regular backstage curtain where the visuals would be projected could not be raised because the wind was too high. So to make it up to the crowd, Roger had his tour Boeing 727 buzz the crowd to start off the show just like the start of this video. It was a total surprise as you could not see the plane coming up the gorge and took the collective breaths away from the crowd. I remember it like it was yesterday and its burned on my brain!!
    Thanks Roger

I saw this in the theater, prior to the DVD/BluRay release. So glad I did. It was amazing. This has got to be one of the best live concert films of all time.

Good afternoon Rogers! My name is Eugene, I'm from Russia, Omsk. For more than half of my life I have given preference to your work! Today I have almost all of your CDs and vinyl records in my collection. I want to thank you for your work and for your support of our country! Health to you and creative forces! Now I decided to buy your Wall in the collection! It's a pity that I can't get your autograph on the album.
