Not knowing the blues tradition, many today look at this as just weird and too much noodling. I guess today, if you can't dance to or rap to it, it's not music, but these guys were at the top of their class in the blues genre. I saw both Johnny and Edgar at separate venues. Edgar is the more rock-oriented brother, but they both are amazing talents. If you haven't done the song already, a classic by Edgar is Frankenstein. Do the live version with Rick Derringer (saw him in concert too). It will blow you away.

I'm sure most would just think it was the keyboard. It's my understanding he was the first to strap one on. ( keyboard)
I've always felt the saxophone was one of the more Soulful instruments. And when Edgar plays it you can hear the ease in which he conveys his emotion.
I wouldn't doubt saxophone's are his favorite. And what one enjoy the most, one tend to do the best.

Johnny said "this is a song by an old friend, its called Red House"
Was a small venue and I was 10 ft away. Will be something I'll never forget.

In fact, when she was in hospice, he came to visit her. She introduced me to Johnny and Edgar's music when I was 9.😊

YES, I’m one of those people who believes in watching rock live, because that’s the spirit of rock….the energy between artist snd audience. Other genres not so much. But rock, metal, definitely. You MIGHT lose some of the perfection of the record, but if it’s a good band (which, come on, all the bands you’re reacting to are good bands!) the charisma and improv and energy, to keep, more than make up for anything potentially lost in accuracy.
    I know others disagree.
More live of everything…..and you still have so much more live available to you of the great legacy bands
