My 21 with a 5.3 is averaging just about the same. My 17 with 5.3 and fuel management system ( cuts off to 4 cylinders ) was doing worst mileage than my 21 that does not have the active fuel management
I drive normal as in with the flow of traffic and rarely get on the gas in my 2021 6.2 at4. I drive 34 miles each way to and from work with 30 miles being highway and 4 miles in town and I get 16.5 mpg.
I did not realize GM recommends 93 octane for this truck. Just did some research and found the 6.2 operates at 11.5 compression. I will run 93 in the future even though many post I read said 87 octane is fine.
I honestly think they help the problem if you get it disabled fast enough. Everyone who is having the problems (that I've read or seen) are people who didn't disable it until they had a bunch of miles. The push rods get bent because they active and deactivate too much. Plus, these new push rods are built not as straight up and down because of the DFM (which is why they are bending).
Who cares. I care. Just because I have money dont mean Im good with 5mpg!! If you can find ways to get better mpg and save couple of dollars dont mean your poor or you cant afford gas money!! All this i dont care shit is plain talk! I know. Used to say the exact same thing! 💪🏽
The 53 is pretty much a worthless engine and a half ton truck I tried to tell my 7000 pound RV with that edit it just didn’t work well it just didn’t have enough power I would not own the 5.3
Technically it wouldn't make it AWD. If you put it in auto 4×4 the front hubs will lock only if it starts to feel the truck slipping. Once it's not slipping it would go back into 2wd. I only put it auto when I'm driving off road or on ice/snow.
18-20 is really about it unless you are driving below 70 mph

Pretty awesome. I don’t get anywhere those numbers haha. Maybe I have a heavy foot 🦶
I dont get those numbers anymore 😅. My foot may be a little heavier now too.

You run the 93 octane?
@@ordinary_arkansan 87
I run 93. That may be why.

Yeah, I ran it when I first got the truck then switched to 93. You van tell a difference for sure (at least for me).
The down shift going down hill is killing me like how you mentioned in your video! Very stoked to get mine, thanks for the video. You get any codes?
No codes. Yeah, I've still been trying to research if there's a way to stop that. Apparently they started doing that in the 2016 models.
Do you know if there is suspicion of the DFM causing these lifter problems one is hearing about?

I have had zero issues so far and have a little over 10,000 miles now.
@@ordinary_arkansan I got 27,000 km (Canadian) on mine and no issues. Gonna go with the Pulsar I think 🤔
Everything I've seen is that guys with push rod issues have been under 10k miles (idk how many km that is 😅).
@@ordinary_arkansan it’s about 16,700 miles (27,000km). So hopefully well into the clear 🤞
My Silverado 6.2 with max towing package is rated for 12,500 pounds who cares about the mpg that’s what I bought it for
What mpg do you average with that max tow package?

Yeah, I'd agree if you tow. I'd respectfully disagree if you use it to drive and haul in small and normal conditions.
How come you don't drive in auto? It makes your vehicle all wheel drive.

@@ordinary_arkansan I've had 4 different Chevy engineers tell me to drive in Auto.
@@BM-uj7rt why did they tell you to?
@@ordinary_arkansan They said we recommend you drive in auto. I have a 2021 BadLander RST
@@BM-uj7rt What was their reasoning though?
