- RUclips is the greatest video sharing platform on the web and every now and again everyone finds a new way to exploit the website to glitch and bug the algorithm to become the largest channels on the website. In the 2010s we saw gaming channels accidentally use an algorithm glitch to become the only things youtube recommended. Now however youtube has a new secret exploit! There are many ways of explaining how to grow on youtube or how to get more views or how to get subscribers. Today however we will be using an algorithm glitch to gain more views than we should ever get as well as thousands of subscribers and preferential promotion in the algorithm. Have you ever wandered how the youtube algorithm works well guess what the new youtube algorithm 2021 edition is completely broken and full of bugs, glitches and exploits! If you ever wanted to know how to grow on youtube then you probably thought the answer was to make more videos but no! instead the spiffing brit will explain the youtube algorithm to show how dream exploited the youtube algorithm 2020 to gain millions of subscribers.
So today I show you how to Break the youtube algorithm by beating it by spamming community posts and polls with nonsensical youtube seo search terms and trends!

Almost a year later, the real question is whether this video worked. Did it force RUclips’s hand? If not, did it reach enough content creators that the impact of a community post has been diluted?

While I agree community posts are pretty OP and get pushed way beyond their target audience, I also respectfully disagree with your math here. My theory is that community polls simply have a far higher engagement rate than normal content.
As evidence for this, lets take the fact that 57% of people in your poll voted for the "I Am Subscribed" option. At the moment, 400k people have voted in your poll, meaning a good 225k people voted in it to say that they are subscribed. Now, if we were to take your estimate that the interaction rate among your subscribers is 6%, then reversing the algebra (X=.06*N where N is the number of "I Am Subscribed" votes in the poll) to solve for your total sub count(X), you'd get a sub count of nearly FOUR MILLION. More than double your current sub count.
Since we know that's not true and we know all of the other numbers in the equation, this tells us that one of the numbers is wrong. The only one we don't know for a fact was the 6% engagement, meaning the engagement must be far higher, somewhere in the realm of 10-20% at least. There's not much reason to think this engagement rate might be even higher among people who are annoyed to see a random youtuber's poll on their home page while browsing on their phone.
This would bring your community posts within the normal range of impressions that your normal videos tend to get.

Spiff is a chaotic good character, he finds exploits, uses them for himself, and then spreads the knowledge around so RUclips( and other corporations) are forced to fix them. Perfectly balanced!

@@thespiffingbrit well I gave it a try 24 hours ago (1700 sub channel) and 10 votes and maybe a couple subs. So no real signal boost for me (unfortunately). I mean I don't want a broken YT algo, but it would have been nice to have my channel get a bit more traction.

Hey Spiff, odds are that this comment will never be seen but seeing this I tried making my first community post. I have 55 subscribers and could still access this feature. As there are very many channels with small audiences this would allow many more people to spam posts, probably not with nearly as much impact as a channel of your size but still quantity as a quality of its own. Just thought it would be fun to share in case anyone did not know.

I’ve been using the community tab to promote the video from the day before, or to ask subscribers questions. For the first few posts, loads of people complained that they weren’t subscribed but were seeing the posts.
That has dropped off a lot over the last few months though.
