      @blackshogun272 4 года назад +2

      The Taung world was invaded by "displaced" humans but did not know of their presence for decades until human settlements began nearing their clan territories. When this happened the reptilian homies greeted us and said we could stay as long as we took care of our side of the planet and didn't encroach on their lands. Ancient human leaders basically scoffed and gave a fingers crossed "Sure" to the Taung Elders. It didn't take long for the humans to break their "promise" and begin building over into Taung territories. The Taung were irritated by these actions by getting in the way of human progress with peaceful protests. A ruthless human leader ordered their security forces to remove the Taung protesters by force and if they didn't move to kill them. When a human attempted murder on a Taung protester they found their weapons useless as an invisible and impenetrable energy field halted all such violence from harming the Taung race. This was a gifted from the Celestial to all their "Firstborn" creations...

    • @ThePalaeontologist
      @ThePalaeontologist 4 года назад +3

      I'd generally agree, though I think that is so ancient that we could only speculate at the specifics of that dynamic, between Taung and Humans. There is also a dark side force nexus on Coruscant (it was under the Jedi Temple/Imperial Palace later on)
      Maybe that could be considered some kind of negative influence? Not sure. Perhaps it was just in a time that was too primitive for there to be lasting peace between early humans and Taung. In that case, maybe it is a matter closer to the rivalry between the Quarren and the Mon Calamari, on Mon Cala, rather than a strictly anti-Human rivalry?
      Perhaps the Taung would have ended up fighting with whichever population co-inhabited/encroached on their territory? Besides which, I personally don't like the idea of the Taung being the predecessors of the first Mandalorians (I just don't like how there has to be this weird non-human origin for a culture that is clearly most recognisable through individuals identical to human beings/literally being human beings) There always has to be this weird convoluted backstory, like with the Tuskens when they were explained to be something more than robed and hooded men (albeit savage in nature)
      I know Mandalorian doesn't = a species but more of an identity. But therein lies the problem. It has to have started somewhere and considering every single famous Mandalorian is clearly a human, then the contrivance to link them to the Taung just bores me a bit. I think it was done just to give a backstory to shape of the helmets or something. Meh. Not a fan of that part of the Legends/old Expanded Universe as it once was.
      It reminds me of the way there is a Sith species and that is a derivation point for the name of the Sith Order yet of course the Sith can be any species in theory. Yet in practice, the vast majority of them seem to be humans as well -.-

I'm talking about the historical context of the Taung and the Sith in comparison. Not that they are still alive (extant, opposite of extinct) Of course they are extinct, not extant.
      B) What I was saying, ''my guy'', is that I don't like the *concept* of the Taung at all. I'm actually ok with the Sith concept thing, as that at least has a better connection to them. It makes sense (Dark Jedi exiles on Korriban/Moraband, showing up with the native Sith being subject to them etc etc I can get behind that - because it sounds like something that would happen in real history)
      I am just critical of the Taung backstory as it sounds a bit to weird and a contrived. If you look at them, they are kind of Star Wars Legends/EU's attempt at the Yautja (Predators)
      It just kinda doesn't do anything for me.
      C) I agree with your (albeit unflattering) analogy of humans being an intelligent, commonplace, adaptable and colonialising species that is both numerous and hard to get rid of....(cue roach reference by you lol) But I wouldn't call them roaches. We're more like grass. We just get everywhere and carpet the land.
      And as far as intelligence goes, that is debatable. Sure, humanity ain't the Celestials or Yoda's species, or the Ones etc. But I think that is a wild generalisation.
      Humanity is smart enough to conquer the galaxy, free itself and dance with Ewoks. Good enough for me.

    I think the ones most racist towards humans must have been the kaminoens. I'm down know too much about Star Wars, but the kaminoens seem to be pretty discriminatory to humans and other species. I mean considering they were "racist"(more like extremely ableist) to their own species, them being hateful of humans isn't so surprising.

    Wookiees didn't hate humans as much as they were wary of outsiders. After all, Twi'leks and Ithorians were party to their enslavement.
    Hutts were an enduring empire that held a firm grip on the emonymous Hutt space before the Republic. Didn't know their Empire collapsed between 3500BBY and present canon, but I'd wager they've still been a regional power cooperating with the Republic - can't beat 'em, join 'em.

    The Yevetha were even more vicious than the Vong as they refused to even surrender or bow at all. They hated ALL non Yevethan species and they had to be utterly brought to extinction. their last living member chose to blow himself up to try and kill two humans trying to rescue him.
    "Your wars are decided by the death of a tenth of a population, a third of an army. Then the defeated surrender their honor and the victors surrender their advantage. This is called being civilized. The Yevetha are not civilized, General. It would be a mistake to deal with us as though we were."- Nil Spaar
