      While Force-sensitivity among the Hutts was rare, it wasn't completly non-existant. Also, as you mentioned, most Hutts became crime lords, so even if there was a Force-sensitive Hutt, it was extremely unlikely that one would join the Jedi Order. Beldorion was an exception, not a rule.
      That said, not all Hutts became crime lords. Aside from Beldorion we have Dr. Juvard Illip Oggurobb, who (to the shock of other Hutts) decided to devote himself to science. His fortune came from high demand for his engeneering and medical skills, as well as from research grants and money gained by winning "Bao-Dur Science Prize" 5 times. By the year of 3631 BBY, he became a head of science departament in the Alliance against the Zakuulan Empire. That's where his story ends for now, but we may get more through SW:ToR expantions.
      Another example can be Kossak Inijic Ar'durv, who at the height of Xim Wars united the Hutts and served as a political and military leader. While most Hutts are remembered for being crime lords, he was remembered for defeating and killing Xim the Despot in 25100 BBY

    Technically, from what I remember from legends, the Sith Order was founded when Dark Jedi happened on the old Sith Homeworld and intermingled with the population. Most of those dark Jedi were human, which explains why Human's hold such a high spot in the order.

    • @Burgermeister1836
      @Burgermeister1836 2 года назад +3

      In the Old Sith Empire the highest class were the Jen'ari (mixed descendants of the predominantly Human Dark Jedi who made up all known Emperors/Dark Lords before 5000 BBY) and the Sith species who made up the majority of the Empire's populace served them. Later, under Vitiate who was mostly of Sith blood the situation reversed, likely because most of the Sith race died in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith then became known as "Purebloods" as opposed to the Humans who made up the bulk of the Second Sith Empire's population, and their prestigious history along with their natural force-sensitivity made them the new elite. A precedent thus existed from early on for a diarchy of species within the order between the original Sith and Humans.

    • @viperstriker4728

      I think the issue is how the cooperation of a hive mind handles the selfishness of the dark side. Another thing to remember is that regardless of the viability/pragmatism of one species or other, as far as the Sith Order was concerned, is that across the history of the Star Wars galaxy, the Sith were neither always as widespread or as prolific as they later became. They didn't physically know about or come into contact with a lot of species (as with other groups, such as the Jedi themselves) across large sections of galactic history. It's important to contextualise this.
    At any given time the absolute knowledge base of the Sith about the wider galaxy around them, wouldn't always be exactly the same. We can take it for granted that in the Skywalker Saga timeline, the Sith have been around for a _very_ long time (over 7,000 years before the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) and that in this staggering time, in which the Jedi have been around even longer (much longer), they will have a deep and storied understanding of the history of the galaxy, built upon dynasty after fallen dynasty, era after era. Most of the Sith were long gone a thousand years before Episode I: The Phantom Menace. That's kind of the point of calling it a 'phantom' menace.
    The Sith would have known a lot but also forgotten an awful lot by the time of Palpatine. He maintained a staggering understanding of the Sith history and culture, and embodied them perhaps metaphysically in more ways than one, as their last major scion and darkest star (though Vitiate would give him a run for his money on the darkness part; though Palpatine was stronger, officially the strongest Sith Lord that ever lived)
    What matters is that in any historical era, the Sith would have had their own reasons and thoughts based on that paradigm's situations and traits, that made them come to certain conclusions. In some cases it might well be the kind of prejudices some people are mentioning in this comments section, but the general theme I'm seeing here is that most of the time it's about finding pragmatic options. If species just don't get angry and furious like the Sith tend to like to, then it's like a negative charge.
    They don't have much business being a Sith then. It might be seen as a biologically deterministic situation, though again, the Sith want the attributes that they excel at, as you pointed out, as individualistic and emotive beings. It is less about 'racism' which I see being bandied around here, but more about _pragmatism_ regardless of what the individual Sith Lords themselves thought about things.
    Sure, I'm guessing over 7,000 years of history you would indeed see a lot of them with hate in _that_ way, though again, what would the context be for each individual? The Sith still are a multi-species order (or were) and it's hard to generalise. There absolutely were humanocentrist Sith e.g. Tyranus and Sidious, but then again I'm sure plenty of non-human Sith were capable of hating humanity over 7,000 plus years. Maybe avoiding reading current year emotions into Star Wars is a good idea? lol The point here is that this is such a long span of time that it would be _bizarre if they weren't_ hugely divided and hateful.
    To borrow a saying about arachnids, if there were 100 Sith Lords locked in a dark room together and you opened the door a while later, eventually there'd be one big Sith Lord left in the middle (I'm not accusing Sith of cannibalism I'm just saying that figuratively speaking they'd eventually turn on and kill each other until 1 remained, if at all; in the spider related saying, the Spider that remains is just the biggest and hungriest that ate more of the others than the others managed to eat of it; might be missing a leg or two and a couple of eyes but it'd be the mean old survivor in the middle, which is the point) Though, metaphorically speaking, it'd have to be _quite the door_ to keep 100 Sith Lords trapped inside it for long.
    The Sith are not too dissimilar. They always destroy one another eventually. Whether or not they have a prejudicial hate from one era to the next, is somewhat of a moot point when so many of them just want to dominate all life anyway (and in the case of Emperor Valkorion/Vitiate, he got so crazy he wanted to outlive the galaxy itself and destroy and consume _everything_ so he could become a God; so dangerous the Sith themselves turned on him because he endangered all life in the galaxy let alone just them)
    _It was ironic_ - Palpatine.

    Ok. But your discussion on Kaminoans raises an interesting point. You mention their rarity in force sensitivity. Now we know the force has a will. A certain level of conscious control. Furthermore, we know that this will has seen fit to eradicate the fire from species before, namely the Yuuzhan Vong, due to heinous acts against life. What if the fact that Kaminoans rarely exhibit force sensitivity is due to their crimes against life, such as their euthanasia. Further to this, the Hutts have rarely had force sensitives and the Chiss' force sensitivity leaves them as they grow old, where their less life like society becomes more prominent in their lives. Whilst the Chiss have never really committed mass crimes against life, they aren't the most life imbued species, and the Hutts heavily built up the criminal underworld in the galaxy, especially slavery. The Zyggerrians, also massive slavers, have also rarely, if ever, provided firce sensitives. Same for Mandalorians, who in the past committed mass genocides. Is it possible that, if the firce catches you quickly enough, it can prevent you from utilising the force?

Inside out bodies is an eternal war between bacteria if it stops it's because one bacteria won, it would cause us to become very sick perhaps the state of war in the universe is similar for the force and then maybe not we don't know enough about the force to start putting motives behind it, it could be so intelligent it's actions seem like madness to us.

    Some of the species in the Galaxy were probably more into the Dark Side if they members of a predatory species or one fed of anger and rage to thrive. That not to say that all predators species could be dark force users just more easily influenced by it.

    • @TheSuperRatt
      @TheSuperRatt 3 года назад +1

      That hinges on the idea that predator species are blights on the Force, or more predisposed to evil. When that's not true at all. Predator species are vital parts of any biosphere, who's lives maintain the balance and health of ecosystems. I would imagine that surviving off of the 'sacrifice' of other organisms, predators would favor the light side, which is just the Force in its natural state. Life exists in a careful balance, the cultural notions that predators are more 'evil' is just wrong.

    • @CollinMcLean
      @CollinMcLean 3 года назад +1

      @@TheSuperRatt Indeed. Pack hunters for instance would probably be less inclined towards the dark side as they hold strong communal bonds and a sense of collectiveness.

    • @CollinMcLean
      @CollinMcLean 3 года назад

      I don’t think that’s entirely accurate. The “light side” refers to the will of the force guiding it’s users while “dark side” refers to it’s manipulation for selfish gain. This can also be seen in the behaviors of light side oriented species such as the Ithorians and the Kel Dor who valued life and nature, while the areas where massive numbers of lives are lost can produce “wounds in the force”. If using the “light side” is allowing the force to guide you that would imply that the light side is the force's natural state. The difference between a flowing river and one that is damned.

  • @barriath8841
    @barriath8841 2 года назад +8

    Well, being specific the Sith-Purebloods were a darkside natured race similar to the Night-Sisters. They were not inherently evil but more on the survival aspect of the force.
    Only after fallen Je'dii found the planet and devoured the cultural and ritual behavior of the Sith-Purebloods and assimilating them into a crueler aspect of power hunger with their own Force knowledge, did they really become the aggressive expansionists.
    So in a sense I can see why human "Sith" tended to later see beings of Sith-Pureblood descend or other species in a negative way. Their genetics after all really did go under after being bred out and therefor it probably told stories about which genes were more dominant.

Would the few have positions of importance such as generals or perhaps more of food gatherers and nurturers for the young or both depending on which side of the Force they land on? If there was some hive minded force users, must they necessarily be destroyed from within or would the two sides of the Force get along? Perhaps only the more light sided users are kept and the more dark sided users are outcasted, or even killed, not too dissimilar to ants killing any female egg layer besides their queen. Looking at mass effect (which focuses a little too much time on that type of question) different species have different diets, survival conditions, reproductive processes, and parenting styles formed from biology.
      I don't think much of that has been filled in for Star Wars lore but I imagine there would be many of the same issues. Imagine a human releasing their mate has several or even dozens of babies at once. Or standard food being fatal toxic to you but having it in your house do to who you married. Or just a 10 degree difference in what temperature you find comfortable. Just due to to logistics species will naturally segregate to some level and if they grow up seeing their own species that will have an effect on what they find attractive, leading to even more segregation in the long run.
      In TOR planets like Nar Shaddaa have all their sectors split up by species will minimum intermingling.

      Hmm, compatibility? Tomcats are cute, affectionate and have huge spikes on their dicks... Because cats are demand ovulators and humans are periodic ovulators. Spectacular orgasm denial and internal injuries. That's one reason.
      Some insects have acidic jizz - I kid you not - or traumatic mating (cut a hole directly to fertilise through the abdomen for example)?
      Then there's genetic compatibility
      Then there's the hmenthe/mantis experience (tales from mos eisley cantina). "A bored hmenthe - someone's in for a bad day..."
      But most probably it's this. Most star wars authors and writers are American and they have "xenophobia" written through them like Blackpool rock - even if they don't realise it.
      Every single Sci fi I can think of is human first and the simple reason is we're human. It's impossible for it not to be especially when we don't have other intelligences to deal with - and if we did, we'd either kill them or infect them.
      One good thing though, if we get first contact, then we won't be represented as a planet by Darth Donald, the human equivalent of the Flood.

      @@rosiehawtrey I have seen a lot of the old Doctor Who (which is made by British authors) and the "xenophobia" is almost worst there since literally all the aliens are hostile or want to exploit humans for something.
      So I am not sure what being American has to do with it. I would argue the xenophobia concept more comes from the fact the sci-fi and horror are a perfect match. Phobia does mean a deep rooted fear after all.
      I would recommend watching Babylon 5, it balances both screen time and audience sympathy amount the different species quite well with a huge focus on diplomacy rather then nuking each other.

      I'd argue that the main reason is incompatable biologies. It's actually canon lore that foodstuffs and drinks one species consumes are harmful or even lethal to others. I recall one book about Obi-Wan's time as a Padawan had a communal species that required toxic sulfur crystals to live, but found common table salt to be incredibly toxic. Gand breathe methane instead of oxygen, and there's numerous references to certain beverages in cantinas being "incompatable". Droid bartenders were occasionally targeted by hackers who would request non-existent drinks, and then laugh at the resulting explosion. And some species are extremely different in their reproductive methods. For example, although Hutts were capable of appreciating beauty from the standpoint of multiple species (just look at Jabba's harem), they were mostly self-fertilizing hermaphrodites, and also too sociopathic to form relationships in the first place.
      That being said, there are plenty of instances of interspecies attraction, or even relationships. The faleen were well known to use pheromones and attraction to manipulate others, and evidently, there were numerous instances of romance between humans and Bothans (I believe in the Legends canon, Wedge Antilles wound up marrying a Bothan). But I don't think the lack of interspecies romantic relationships is a matter of prejudice - more a matter of it just not usually being considered.

    if you go by the name of the Sith Order, the original human jedi that got exiled and eventually made it to Korriban became the Dark Lords of the Sith. They are the rulers of the original Sith species. That is why the Sith order has always been pro human. The 12 Dark Jedi exiles had to use Sith alchemy that they learned from the Sith species to be able to mate with the ancient Sith and eventually a new hybrid race happened which was part original Sith and part human descendant from those 12 dark jedi. This all comes from the old Tale of the Jedi comics if I remember correctly.
