Across the tracks where the church yard is now was where the old motel was. I have pictures somewhere.

Yes that was the old business district that big store front is for Linday Hudson furniture.... the old white frame buildings were earlier stores for the Hudson family the larger one originally sat in the current gap between the brick buildings and the smaller one was closer to where the current store front is.... the concrete pad is roughly where the old train depot was thought the concrete pad you saw i think was the old well head....the rock building was a post office at one time and the brick one beside it was the bank.... the stairs between them went down to the barbershop and the dentist office.... if you were to head west of the rock building about 100 yards the road makes a hard right and straight ahead there are some tin warehouses in a large flat clearing.... 1 of 2 hotels a rather large and very fancy hotel sat there 3 storys and 120 rooms I think ..... prior to the great depression it was a bustling little town with 2 fancy resort hotels and shipped large glass jugs of mineral water as far a Paris France.... the claim to fame was the water is high in a odd mineral chemistry (iron carbonate?) it doesn't really affect the water flavor but is really high in iron and the body adsords it well apparently the doctors at the time realized if you were anemic and they didn't have any of the pharmaceuticals they have now it was an excellent source of iron...

Wow. Your small town was not so small at one time. Thanks for taking us back in time. And thanks for watching 👍
