Hello @ Two Rocking Grannies! Nightwish Army incoming here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band with the first lead singer, Tarja Turunen, performing in Helsinki in 2005 "The Phantom.." in her last concert with the band, the "End Of An Era" concert. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, I'll give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan: " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. @@josedavidfalcon1974 if by ridiculously annoying you mean extremely passionate then yes... yes we are. We make no apologies for our passion. Also, you've clearly misunderstood the context in which "hard core" was used here. That's ok tho, We don't expect others to get it or to appreciate what being truly passionate about a band or their music really is. Clearly you're one of the "elitists" who think only certain bands are metal and anything else is weak or fake or trash. So go enjoy what you call music and we'll enjoy what actually IS music.
@@josedavidfalcon1974 I've said it once and will say it again, them spamming this just scares people off... I've been a fan of NW since Tarja years, and love them to death, they're in my top 3 bands for sure, but I can't bring myself to join this so called NW army cause they're so cringy...Just repeat the same things over and over again. Most of them just know NW from 2013 forwards lol, that's hardly a fan...
@@Neocoolzero my dad got me into nightwish(during the Annette era but those the years I got more into rock so he felt it a good time but he also shared old school tarja stuff) and I have to agree. They are so cringe and seem more like a floor army. How do you miss recommending some wonderful Marko vocals like the pink Floyd cover or islander?
Welcome to the greatest Symphonic Metal Band in the world, 2RGs!! I myself am possibly in your generation, 76 years young, residing in Dallas Tx. I found Nightwish by accident when I saw the name on youtube and clicked on it. That was Tarja Turunen's last concert with NW, as she was terminated the next day(I'll let Ms. Wychoff tell that story). Dutch Soprano Floor Jansen is Nighwish's third and greatest singer(IMHO). She went through opera training in her teens(her training can still be heard) in addition to weight training/bodybuilding which propelled her to the top of European bodybuilding contests. She became enamoured of the Symphonic Metal genre and founded at least two bands(I forget their names). Before she joined Nightwish she went through a prolonged mental breakdown, culminating in her invitation to join the band, where she has been since that Earth-shaking concert in Wacken Germany in 2013(est. 82000 in attendance). I want to see your reaction to the most recent duet of POTO by Floor and the great Dutch opera singer Henk Poort, her teenage idol. This was at the Beste Zangers music show in Ibiza last year; ruclips.net/video/plCScjvDOJM/видео.html
I love all the vocalists that have worked with Nightwish over the years.. but my favorite will always be the original Finnish vocalist in this video, Tarja Turunen. There was a touch of darkness in her voice and they way her Finnish accent bled through was just perfect. The original studio video for Nemo will always be a favorite of mine... might be one to react to.
Haha, thank you for listening to our request, even if it was a different song. This song was from a whole different era of Nightwish, different singer, different style. The band has changed a lot since. Would be great if you wanna explore it more and check out the official live video of Ghost Love Score in Wacken 2013.
Funny side note: Even before Nightwish was a thing Metal had quite a few flings with opera and classical music. So many in fact that for me it is a sort of small revival of the classics. Multiple bands tried their hands on Vivialdi's "Four Seasons", or Jochan Sebastian Bach's "Toccata and Fuge", and even Manowar had their own try at "Flight of the Bumblebee" which they dubt "Sting of the Bumblebee" instead. And the inversion is true as well, where quite a few bands worked together with classical orchestras to provide even more gravitas to their works. Metallicas "Nothing else matters" is arguably at its best in concert with the London Symphonic Orchestra, and Manowars "Lament Of The Kings" would never hit as hard without the choire just thundering through the music.
Hello Grannies, Actually, The Phantom of The Opera isn't an actual opera. It's a musical about an Opera Singerl and a Phantom Opera Teacher. I've seen it many times. And I raised my son's with all types of music. Except newer rap. Rap is not my music. There are few new rap artists that I like. I just found this reaction and had to see if you enjoyed it. We just lost my Mother-in-law a few weeks ago. And hearing it is just so hard. She meant the world to us! I'd love to see you react to Floor Jensen's version of this?
I do the same. My dad did the same! Except at the time we did also listen to rap but late 90s and early 2000s rap was a bit different xD he also listened to death metal xD and some other bizzare generes (literally an album by a band all about Jeffrey Dahmer). He also listened to top hits at the time and country. A majorly eclectic man. We went to 2 nightwish concerts together and boy do I miss him! Your son is going to have great memories of sharing an array of things!
You two lovely ladies are awesome :) Such honest and genuine reaction, I pressed the subscribe button before this reaction was over because I loved this so much. I have a couple of suggestions for you if you want to check out more Nightwish, how about checking out Ghost love score or Romanticide both from the Nightwish Wacken 2013 concert? Those are some good starting points, first song is a bit softer but epic, the other is more on the heavy side :) I should also mention, that they have had three singers, the female vocalist here is Tarja Tuurunen who was the first vocalist of the band and also one of the co founders of Nightwish, in the suggestions they have instead their present (and third) vocalist, Floor Jansen. This band has been around since the late 90's and are still as epic as ever, still going strong :) They released a new album in April. This band is to me the greatest band on earth
i lost my grandmothers years ago. finding these 2 grannies has left me happy and definitely subscribed and cant wait for all the new content they post. keep on rockin!
Ya'll are fantastic! I agree with a few other folks check out Beste Zangers, Floor Jansen and Henk Poort singing The Phantom of the Opera also Floor and Simone Simons (Epica) singing Sancta Terra. Both will blow your socks off ; )- Thanks and keep on Rockin'
Ladies, you ROCK! You have opened the Pandora's Box of the best metal! This was Nightwish with Tarja Turunen (1996-2005), after her there was Anette Olzon as a front lady (2007-2012) and then the worlds really grumbled when Mrs. Floor Jansen stepped on the stage with Nightwish - and the rest of is written with gold on a pages of metal history! I literally can't wait when you hear her with Nightwish. Oh, by the way, the male vocalist who play the bass is Marko Hietala. Very good singer too and made a lots of good music beside NW.
I want to highly suggest Beste Zangers floor Jansen and Hank port phantom of the opera Floor is the now singer of nightwish, also Elan with the official video and poet and the pendulum I think you will really enjoy these videos.
Tarja is amazing. Her voice is so perfect. Please react to more Tarja and more Nightwish with Tarja. Some suggestion: Ghost love score Live (End of an Era) Wishmaster (End of an Era) Ever Dream with Tarja
Marko Hietala, the male vocalist was part of another group called Tarot alongside his brother. If you can, check it out, they created amazing songs like 'Traitor', 'Satan is dead' and 'Ashes to the stars'. Greetings from mexico \\m//
Hi lovely ladies, first time here, the girls in the audience are crying at the start, not because of the song, (though that has something to do with it), this was taken from the final stage performance of the "end of an era" tour, the lead singer Tarja Tarunen, seen here was fired by the band shortly before this show started, and it was assumed (incorrectly thankfully), that it was the end of the road for the band as a whole. it wasn't and Tarja [Tar-Ya] was soon replaced by singer 2 Annette Olsen who had a more "pop" style vocals that did not suit the band, she decided to leave half way through the "Imaginarium" tour, and was hurriedly replaced by their 3rd and current singer Floor Jansen [Yan-Sun] who is by far the most diverse singer yet, she has a stunning range from deep, almost hellish growls to extremely high operatic tones and can switch between them at will, search for floors rendition of POTO from the show "Beste Zangers" or start your journey down the large, almost bottomless rabbit hole, with "Ghost Love Score" from the live at Wacken 2013 tour. Btw Phantom is not an opera at all, it is classed as a musical about an Opera Singer and a disfigured "phantom" opera teacher, the female and male main leads as in this rendition with Tarja and Marko.
Well done ladies, the Nightwish Army are incoming :) - SO as you will be aware the next reaction will bring you up to date with their current line up - Ghost Love Score - live as Wacken 2013 - I have listened to Nightwish for 21 years, and you need to experience Floor their latest singer, we will be here watching and supporting you on your Nightwish journey :) Subbed~!
Great reaction!! Anything listed for you to listen to is gold, so no bad decision on which to go next. Floor's rendition of this with Henk Poort on Beste Zangers is impeccable as well. Cheers!
If you like the singers voices, Tarja (pronounced Taria) has done some amazing songs such as My little phoenix and Boy an the ghost amongst many others, and Marko has a band, Tarot, with songs like Ashes to the stars and Wings of darkness. Worth checking out!
Howdy ! I have Nighwish's song Last of The Wilds currently in regular playlists ( like , for the last two years ! :) ) It is one of their instrumentals - ( the lead is on something like bagpipes ! ) Worth a look !!! I have also been watching a lot of Annette's recent stuff - The Dark Element - song - Ghost and the Reaper . . Thanks for all you DO !! Up The Irons !!!
Tonight was the first time I listened to your reactions and I am now a member of the granny squad! I am big fan of Nightwish and enjoyed seeing your reactions! Keep up the great work, although this really can’t be considered work right :) One of my favorite Nightwish songs featuring Marco (bassist) is High Hopes which is a remake of the original by Pink Floyd. I highly recommend that one.
I love this cover!!!! If you love this style I highly recommend Epica. Songs, Consign to Oblivion live, Unleashed, basically anything from them. Just discovered you channel and love it. Keep rocking!!!
The Nightwish army won’t lead you wrong for suggestions, but I will always associate the song “Nemo” with this band... first song I ever heard, and first time hearing metal music fused with opera-style singing...
@@TwoRockingGrannies I recommend you check out Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Classic rock band of the past. It's great to see you are open to try new types of music! As we all should be!
You got it right grannies. I’ve hated metal my whole life (52). But this s$&@ speaks to my soul. I can’t get enough !! You might want to listen to Epica awesome in this genre. 💕
greetings ladies!..this is the pioneer of female -fronted symphonic metal bands, the master soprano Tarja Turunen who took this band to the top...she has extensive training in opera but is a master of many singing genres...she is an absolute vocal phenomenon
I don't want to bring down this performance, but you really should watch the Floor Jansen & Henk Poort version of Phantom Of The Opera which they did for the Dutch "Best Singers" TV program. Guaranteed you will be blown away!
It hurts me to think of the work put in to keep getting lead singers like this over years. Tarja and Floor are supreme but Annette could hardly be called just average. They also have Marko and Troy as well.
Metalhead here and a new subscriber! I loved your reaction to Nightwish and I will be watching your other videos as well. Speaking of Finnish bands, I would recommend Korpiklaani and their cover of Ievas Polkka.
Lovely reaction. Phantom is also my favorite of all time. Now you should Check out the Best Zangers With Floor Jansen and Henk Poort and their version of the Phantom of the Opera, which was a twist on this version, now that Floor is Nightwish's new singer.
Awesome reaction again, you ladies ROCK! I do wish you'd chosen an original by the band and not a cover as your first dip into Nightwish though. You simply must do "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken in 2013 now :D
Tarja Turunen is probably the most amazing female singer in metal - The Tarja years are Nightwish' golden era - This opera metal classic should be on heavy metal broadway !
Big diva and disrespecfull towards the fans. Made them wait for s long time before entering the stage. 😝 And by the way. No, she does not have a classical schooling in opera, but she wants you to think so. Today, she has her own band. She got kicked from the band.
@@skummisrocker ..Tuomas (who makes all decisions about entrances, exits and costumes) tried to damage her rep and got beaten badly for it...she has 7 years of pro level operatic training and has improved enormously in the last 15 years....there are numerous clips of her astounding operatic renditions...she quit the band in 2003 but stayed as a favor to the ever ungrateful Tuomas who's resentment and jealousy made them end up rudderless until Floor...get the facts first...
@@bornready6924 When I saw Nightwish she was late about 40 minutes and I was not the only one who saw this. Were you at the concert? I DON'T THINK SO! Maybe she has some voice schooling now, but she had it not back then. Sound like opera, yes. Opera schooling, no. As a singer, you stil have to practise the voice. But that does not mean that you have to a voice educator in opera. I still can read and I still have seen Nightwish live and Tarja was still late out on stage. 😝 Do you know that dimissed is similar to fired? Anette Olzon from a suburb, Påarp/Helsingborg, replaced her. Today the singer, Floor Hansen, replaced Anette Olzon. I understand that you are in love with Tarja and therefore she can not do anything wrong. I know more than you think. 😊
@@skummisrocker ...yes, i get it ..she was late...what a great diva she is?...would a diva submit to all changes Tuomas demanded of her...would a diva share a dressing room with a bunch of crude, carousing, drunken slobs, not being provided basic security and privacy (sometimes as an only female in the area) ...would a diva come back to the stage, in few minutes after just being assaulted by a crazed fan, and with tears in her eyes, finish out the night's concert set (while the "so called" family just kept on playing as though nothing happened....would a diva strain her voice to accommodate a super frequent concert schedule....would a diva go onstage as Tarja did that last night with them, being nauseous and feverish, and perform her best, running back stage at every opportunity just to change perspiration covered outfits and try to wash her face a recover just a bit...would a diva take unlimited time to sign endless autographs, take numerous pictures with adoring fans, come out to waiting rooms and parking lots to offer smiles, jokes, hugs and warm welcomes to fans ... would a diva rush off the stage to bring a bottle of water to a fan who was either weak or so mesmerized by her voice ( a very common event with her, even today)that she fainted, and then be inconsolable for days blaming herself for the girl's condition.... boy, i could tell you stories from those 9 long years in which Tarja took them to such great heights while taking all their slings and arrows. .....and you might wanna reread my earlier statement regarding 7 years of professional operatic training she underwent in the finest schools in Europe, before and during her stint with NW, enjoyed the highest level of fan loyalty ( thus the near dissolution of NW) when she left)

Thank you! Waiting for more Nightwish reactions. All the best from RO. Stay safe. New subscriber here, 2RG :)
Oh sh*t! You (NW army) 're not a hard core.... You're ridiculously annoying!
You Ladies Are Awesome!!!! SUBSCRIBED🤘🤘❤❤❤🤘🤘
Loved it you are both awesome too, more nightwish please you will not be disappointed, subbed for more nightwish
We hope for more NIGHTWISH reactions! 🤘
Legendary Nightwish performance here. :)
Haha, thank you for listening to our request, even if it was a different song.
This song was from a whole different era of Nightwish, different singer, different style. The band has changed a lot since.
Would be great if you wanna explore it more and check out the official live video of Ghost Love Score in Wacken 2013.
Ghost Love Score is coming very soon for sure.
@@TwoRockingGrannies Yay, you are the best! \m/
This band has had 3 singers ..all wonderful in there own right ...tarja ( this one ) has her own band ..like I said all singers are awesome 👍...enjoy
There is also a version of Phantom sung by Floor Jansen and Henk Poort. If you look it up, you can enjoy that version as well.
Please react to the song “Slaying the Dreamer” from this concert. End Of An Era!! I think you’ll like that amazing song!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I think that is my favorite from this DVD
I'm in the Granny squad and I seen them live with Floor singing, best show on earth 🌎
i love you grannies
You two lovely ladies are awesome :) Such honest and genuine reaction, I pressed the subscribe button before this reaction was over because I loved this so much.
I have a couple of suggestions for you if you want to check out more Nightwish, how about checking out Ghost love score or Romanticide both from the Nightwish Wacken 2013 concert? Those are some good starting points, first song is a bit softer but epic, the other is more on the heavy side :)
I should also mention, that they have had three singers, the female vocalist here is Tarja Tuurunen who was the first vocalist of the band and also one of the co founders of Nightwish, in the suggestions they have instead their present (and third) vocalist, Floor Jansen. This band has been around since the late 90's and are still as epic as ever, still going strong :) They released a new album in April.
This band is to me the greatest band on earth
Thank you very much. Ghost Love Score is coming soon for sure.
Great video 👍 please react next To Storytime by Nightwish Wacken Live
i love you grannies!!! this is a discovery to me and i love the channel
i lost my grandmothers years ago. finding these 2 grannies has left me happy and definitely subscribed and cant wait for all the new content they post. keep on rockin!
Best version of Phantom ever done.
Love this thank you. I love Sara Brightman from the stage and film of the Phantom also.
Nightwish has been my favorite band for close to 15 years now. I love anything by them!
Tarja is amazing. Her voice is so perfect.
Please react to more Tarja and more Nightwish with Tarja.
Some suggestion:
Ghost love score Live (End of an Era)
Wishmaster (End of an Era)
Ever Dream with Tarja
Parkway drive- dark days
Great Australian metal band
Love your videos ladies give these guys a go
you two should see Tina S.: Beethoven's 5th...she was only 16/17yrs old when she totally SHREDDED it on an electric guitar!
Marko Hietala, the male vocalist was part of another group called Tarot alongside his brother. If you can, check it out, they created amazing songs like 'Traitor', 'Satan is dead' and 'Ashes to the stars'. Greetings from mexico \\m//
Another nightwish cover, High hopes (Pink Floyd). It's gorgeous, you'll love it.
This video and your pure reactions and comments convinced me to subscribe and I will now proudly say I am a member of the Granny Squad!
#wewerehere
My daughter and i love Phantom, and i am a semi pro metal drummer. So you have a new fan Mom squad, Sorry I'm not young enough to be a grandchild.
I love Floor but Nightwish is like this and sounds so especial because Tarja sings like a opera singer.
Hi Gran!!! Can you imagine listen it up alive? I can say it's awesome!!!!
Instant like from me for those faces at the beggining
great long song - Greatest Show on Earth. You will definitely enjoy it!
i love the musical. awesome hearing her hit that high f
It's coming real soon. We promise.
Nice reaction ladies, I drop in on every Nightwish video, but have a great time:)
You both are hardcore. Again ive asked and hope it's not to much but gotta check them out. Keep it goin
My family in general never takes up my recomendetion on music, love how upenminded you are to new music. Love you guys so much:)
Great reaction!! Anything listed for you to listen to is gold, so no bad decision on which to go next. Floor's rendition of this with Henk Poort on Beste Zangers is impeccable as well. Cheers!
Love to see your reaction to the nightwish cover of symphony of destruction
Should definitely check out the live version of Planet Hell from this band. I think it's from this same concert, too.
If you like the singers voices, Tarja (pronounced Taria) has done some amazing songs such as My little phoenix and Boy an the ghost amongst many others, and Marko has a band, Tarot, with songs like Ashes to the stars and Wings of darkness. Worth checking out!
INTENSE!! That was great!
I would love you to hear Wasted Years by Iron Maiden
This was also the last concert with Taria, that's why maybe they cry more... or just drugs + last concert taria :D
Great reaction !! Keep it up...
I saw Nightwish live and they were AMAZING!
I really enjoy your reactions! Looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you so much, Darren. We're glad you enjoy it. We're are having so much fun doing these videos.
@@TwoRockingGrannies I recommend you check out Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Classic rock band of the past. It's great to see you are open to try new types of music! As we all should be!
I'm in love with these wounderful ladys
You got it right grannies. I’ve hated metal my whole life (52). But this s$&@ speaks to my soul. I can’t get enough !! You might want to listen to Epica awesome in this genre. 💕
Fun fact: The Keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen is the founding member of the band.
greetings ladies!..this is the pioneer of female -fronted symphonic metal bands, the master soprano Tarja Turunen who took this band to the top...she has extensive training in opera but is a master of many singing genres...she is an absolute vocal phenomenon
I just had to sub. You two are just awesome. Looking forward to what you have in store. 🤘
I joined The Granny Squad today!
I don't want to bring down this performance, but you really should watch the Floor Jansen & Henk Poort version of Phantom Of The Opera which they did for the Dutch "Best Singers" TV program. Guaranteed you will be blown away!
This is the one: ruclips.net/video/plCScjvDOJM/видео.html
Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom Of The Opera THE BEST DUO
NEVAAAAAAAAA
I just came across this channel, and I absolutely love these reactions. You two are absolutely wonderful
Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King 🤘
Great!!!
Hell yes!
Yes !!!! Totally agree on Savatage !
YES!!!
Chance or Gutter Ballet
It hurts me to think of the work put in to keep getting lead singers like this over years. Tarja and Floor are supreme but Annette could hardly be called just average. They also have Marko and Troy as well.
Metalhead here and a new subscriber! I loved your reaction to Nightwish and I will be watching your other videos as well. Speaking of Finnish bands, I would recommend Korpiklaani and their cover of Ievas Polkka.
Please react to Slipknot - Killpop! Love you reactions 😘
Lovely reaction. Phantom is also my favorite of all time. Now you should Check out the Best Zangers With Floor Jansen and Henk Poort and their version of the Phantom of the Opera, which was a twist on this version, now that Floor is Nightwish's new singer.
Metallica - The day that never comes live in Nimes 2009
Awesome reaction again, you ladies ROCK! I do wish you'd chosen an original by the band and not a cover as your first dip into Nightwish though. You simply must do "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken in 2013 now :D
Yo, metal chicks, whassssuuuuuuuuup 😁😋
Night wish- Nemo
Love how mesmerized you were during the song :)
Tarja Turunen is probably the most amazing female singer in metal - The Tarja years are Nightwish' golden era - This opera metal classic should be on heavy metal broadway !
Big diva and disrespecfull towards the fans. Made them wait for s long time before entering the stage. 😝
And by the way.
Do you know that dimissed is similar to fired?
Come across ur channel today and just subed
I am a big fan of TSA, but this blew me away. Loved it. Maybe do another by them.
Another one from Nightwish is coming soon.
Fyi metal lovers have been listening to classical for a long time even if they haven't known it.
For context's sake, I BELIEVE that this was Tarja's last performance before she left, hence the tears
Fun Fact This was Tarjas last gig with nightwish... Try Poet and Pendulum or Greatest show on earth....
Next Ghost love score Wacken 2013
I love rock but I also love the phantom
Ghost Live Score at Wacken with Floor!!!!!!
