@gabriel.bardac \|/ Wow... so many different places around this world have found the magical experience of Nightwish music; it is just pretty amazing, really. It is truly something that's just so beautiful, so unique, and so very special... Nightwish's work is simply exemplary at being undeniably moving; it is majestic and emotionally gripping. Their music is so awesome at evoking raw, stunning emotionality that can just unfailingly bring me a 47 year old dude in rural Arkansas, quite literally to tears... no lies. Shameless tears of joy! The Nightwish Army will always be a real community dedicated to the appreciation of music that has such broad appeal and such a tirelessly beautiful crafting to all of its components, that it just can never be forgotten, or dismissed.
You should see him sing High Hopes cover at the same concert. He is the only singer in that one and he’s absolutely amazing. It’s honestly better than the original.
@@Qwarzz I'm not too fond of anyone saying that some version or cover is "better" or "worse" anyways since unless we're actually talking about someone not hitting the right notes or making other mistakes, it's simply a matter of taste ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On the other hand, there are quite a few lifelong Pink Floyd fans who look almost ashamed when they mention that they like the homage better... Whether the Nightwish or Pink Floyd version is better is largely a matter of taste. You’re comparing completely different takes, one metal and the other prog rock. As much as I like the nightwish version, it doesn’t hit the same emotional notes as the original.

End of an Era concert and DVD Helsinki 2005 and some 12000 people. Nightwish style to do classic song in metal version and mix the genres. Also acting the roles.
The two singers -- Tarja and Marco -- are Finnish, so English is not their first language. It was recorded in Helsinki at the last concert that Tarja ever performed with Nightwish. Unknown to her, but known to all the other performers in this piece, she was going to be sacked from the band after the concert that evening. So the performance has a certain poignancy, especially for fans of Tarja. Tarja also had the flu during this performance, but battled on. A brilliant performance by both Tarja and Marco. For more Marco singing, watch High Hopes, a cover of Pink Floyd's song. Also, the Islander, live at Tampere.
@@voxsingingacademy after 18 years, they (Marko & Tarja) have reunited and performed a fantastic song called ‘Left On Mars’! Please take the time to check it out. It’s totally awesome!
Unfortunately the two singers are no longer in Nightwish. she, Tarja Turunen, has a wonderful career. she does rock concerts and classical music concerts. I would like if you could analyze her more classic side for example Mein herr marquis, ave maria, or mio babbino etc etc and also some song of her other style: love to hate -metropolis-, victim of ritual, supremacy, etc etc. I'd love to! she has a wonderful voice. For me, Nightwish without Marko and without Tarja is not the same.
Floor was a very good replacement for Tarja, since even though she doesn't have the same kind of operatic voice, she has much more range and stage presence. Marko's departure hurt more, though. I hope they recover from it.

Together, this The End of an Era concert was great!
This was recoded in Helsinki, Finland in October 2005. It was one of the last concerts with Tarja Turunen as the lead vocalist. The composer of the original musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber has told that this is one of the best renditions of the "Phantom Of The Opera" main theme he has ever heard.

I’m curious. You referred to Tarja as singing falsetto. She is a professionally trained classical singer. She studied singing at the Sibelius Academy in Finland and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in Germany. Isn’t she actually singing in a modal voice? I’m not a voice teacher. I’m just inquiring. Loved your reaction. It’s fun watching reactors first exposure to this song. 😄🤘
Thank you & Thank you for watching. No she's 110% sing in falsetto for the parts that I mentioned. She does sing in her chest/True Voice for other parts.
It has probably already been said by now but apparently Tarja wasn't feeling very well at all for this performance. An opera singer on RUclips had said there was something slightly off with her breathing but that would explain it - unbelievable that she still managed to pull this off!
The way you looked enjoying the performance is how I feel every time I watch it. I always want it to be longer, but I think my head would just explode if it was. 😉 There can always be debates about individual singers, but as a performance and experience, I think this is unrivaled. Tarja and Marco together are 1+1=3. Then you have the band, and the concert audience as well contributing. I just love it. I very much appreciated your analysis. This is one of a few videos I guess you could say I use to 'screen' reactors. I'm not sure if you've reacted to ABBA's The Winner Takes It All, but that would be my request. Also, if you haven't heard Home Free, they are a stellar acapella group.
You should definitely check out “Swanheart” live from their Wishes to Eternity concert. It’s a ballad from a much earlier Nightwish show and easily one of Tarja’s best vocal performances.
Tarja is no longer with Nightwish, the singer is now Floor. But this was the pinnacle of the band as Tarja lead singer. This was the end of the era concert . Tarja is an operatically classically trained singer. Andrew Lloyd Webber has said he really thinks this is the best performance outside of musical theatre.

Think about it this way as well: Think about it in context with the musical. In the musical, Erik (the Phantom) is perceived to be this troubled soul that needs the care and attention that he was missing and yearning for from Christine. Everyone tends to forget that he's responsible for someone dying in the theater! So in the Nightwish arrangement here, while Marko (bassist/singer) is playing Erik and Tarja (singer) is playing Christine, Marko is playing Erik to be and sound more sinister instead of troubled. And it works. It works so much that Andrew Lloyd Webber stated that this was the best arrangement and performance of Phantom of the Opera that he has ever seen.
Haven't heard him doing lead vocals? Then you should check his band Tarot, if you like classic british heavy metal style with progressive elements. Been around since 1986, falsettos galore.
This concert was about 16 years ago at the Hartwall Arena in Finland. That was singer Tarja Turunnen's last concert with the band, but their current singer, Floor Jansen is absolutely amazing. Sadly, the bassist/male singer Marco Hietala left the band and the music scene last year, possibly permanently, due to personal issues and disillusionment with the music industry. The band still continue and a world tour is now I believe under way.
Marco left Nightwish sure, and based on his exit message it can sure seem like he was leaving music behind for good, but that has not really been the case. Marco has been doing one offs and participated in Finlands Masked Singer etc. He won the whole thing of course, but he is still around and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get back to Nightwish at some point. I don't know what drove him to quit the band, but I guess this whole covid situation hasn't been very good for anyone... It is not like he just went away, he's hanging around, probably doing things he wants to do and enjoying the lighter calendar due to him not having a steady gig with any band. We have certainly not heard the last of him, that is for sure. Be it with Nightwish, another group, solo project but there will be something to occupy his time...
@@TheRealRedAce what are you smoking? No it was not. He left a year ago and the Masked Singer came out last fall... And I don't think those are pre-recorded at least not by that much.

Great reaction! I'd enjoy seeing more Nightwish reactions. I suggest all live - they are better live. I'd suggest also checking out something from Wacken 2013. You really can't go wrong with Nightwish - Storytime, Romanticide, Ever Dream, all from Wacken, High Hopes, The Islander (Tampere), I Want My Tears Back (Buenos Aires), anything I haven't mentioned. All amazing, and that's only a selection with Floor singing as the female lead. You've got things from Tarja as well. Annette is best in studio versions though.
Thank you for watching. Yes I have done another reaction to Nightwish. It's in my playlist. I have also watch the WACKEN 2013 CONCERT. VERY IMPRESSIVE.
This was in Fall, Helsinki, Finland, 2005. "End of an Era" Tour concert. I was 18, I'm 37 now & I'll never forget it. It was the last time we heard the Siren, the Viking, the Pirate, the Vampire & the Zombie perform together. Cheers from Portland, OR! 😎🍻
This is definitely the best rendition of the Phantom. It still gives one goosebumps even after watching it so many time. Definitely Tarja’s best performance. Nightwish’s music is heavy but all their songs are clear complicated and masterpieces You need to check the current lead singer of Nightwish namely Floor Jansen and Henk Poort’s version of the Phantom. All beautiful.
Some info on Marco, the one playing bass and singing, he had a bad surgery that damaged his vocal chords, quite awhile ago, before this I’m sure, he had to completely relearn how to sing, and he’s still a boss, way better that I’d say most guys, especially who have done rock and metal. How others said high hopes and other songs to react to of him, The Islander is a great one, and probably 90% him, singing/playing guitar. Also greatest show on earth, he sings some in that one too. Sorry if that’s the one you did, first view of your channel for me. I’ll go back and check out your other content. I love nightwish, no matter which of the 3 lead singers they’ve had, but this is one of my top favorites they’ve done.
Oh, he’s also Finnish, so there is a fair amount of lilt and accent, like in the islander, so it adds a little to how he sounds, unless he really wants/needs to be clear, he definitely can, but you can tell he has some accent, doesn’t bother me that it wasn’t super clear at times, but I’m also not a singing/vocal coach, haha.
Every time I hear Marco song in blown away. I mean, when I first started listening to Nightwish I had no idea he had his own band, do suddenly seeing the bassist song like that beside Tarja was a shock.
thanks for the reaction, I love your passionate review after every one of your videos. would love to see you react to some more nightwish songs from wacken 2013, if you havent seen the rest yet. or some other newer bands .

Tarja and Marco new song: Left on mars
Sensory overload. Yeah.
Oh dear, you have summoned the Nightwish army. Incidentally - have you heard Unleash the Archers yet?
Oh no! Should I check it out?
Come for Tarja, stay for Marco!
This concert was recorded in 2005 in Finland. It is the last show of vocalist Tarja Turunen with the band. She recorded the initial demo, the first 5 albums and the first EP. Marko, the singing man, also left the band. The show you just saw is on the "End of an era" dvd. The whole show is excellent. Here is the link with a playlist of the entire concert: ruclips.net/p/PLexzLA11Cst25qKz-jqq513Dr02I2jG4q
At the time of filming it was not known the era was over. It was the "ONCE upon a Tour", tour.
Tarja the Queen ❤️🔥!!

Tarja y Marko!!!!
😊🇫🇮❤️🎶🎹🎸🥁✨🤘
You should try: Dead boy's poem / The Poet and the Pendulum / The Islander
Nightwish’s music is heavy but all their songs are clear complicated and masterpieces
You need to check the current lead singer of Nightwish namely Floor Jansen and Henk Poort’s version of the Phantom. All beautiful.
The best band of the universe.. saludos desde Argentina!!
Thank you for watching!
This is from 2005 and the singer Tarja's last show she was let go right after this show because of personal turmoil with her & the band
Thank you for the information, Thank you for watching
Every time I hear Marco song in blown away. I mean, when I first started listening to Nightwish I had no idea he had his own band, do suddenly seeing the bassist song like that beside Tarja was a shock.
Try FORESTELLA -The phantom of the opera It s crazy
You should definitely check out more Metal songs .. there's too much talent in Metal genre
Thank you for watching
Are the voice coach supposed to react to the crowd?
Love the way your eyes were riveted on the video till you finally let out a big breathe after the finale !! Great !!
THANK YOU
