Love this park! This park and Busch Gardens Williamsburg make Virginia an awesome state for theme parks.
Flight of Fear refit just change the exterior a little bit and come up with a story that fits in with Jungle X. Like an alien ship crash in the jungle and local authorities/government have tried to keep it under wraps or something 🤷♂️

I remember watching your channel 8 years ago when it was just Taylor doing coaster rankings and skits. To see how this channel has evolved is incredible. Sara and Taylor make extremely captivating well thought out videos. I hope you both continue getting recognition for your work!

Track for (possibly) this ride was spotted at Clermont steel a few weeks ago. It was like pastel green color
Like a light forest green? I'd think KD would want to pick a bolder color for this coaster. If B&M is building the new coaster for Canada's Wonderland, though, that color would look better racing around the mountain.
I went last Sunday, and I've gotta say you're right about Grizzly being incredible. I'm seriously debating on whether it's the number 3 in the park. Also, you forgot to mention that Racer 75 received some retracking as well. Just the valley before the turnaround got retracked, but it's a massive improvement from last year. Great video!

Such a different park from my visit in 04. No shockwave, no hyper sonic, no volcano, no hurler. Cant wait to give it another shot.

Taylor I'm so glad you made this video. I'm going to the park for my first time in a couple weeks. I love how in-depth you cover things. I know this is your home park. So I'm sure this is going to be the best guide for a first-timer. We are so excited to get there. We are also doing BGW, Six flags America, and Six flags Great Adventure. This is our second roller coaster trip ever. I think it'll be the best one though!

The lift hill has 2 speeds depending on the weather and other factors. Looks like misty weather there
Grizzly is running way better than it did in 2019. Project 305 will forever be Intmidator 305 to me.
That opening montage was amazing. Would love to see that same thing with Intimidator shots

They need to give Intimidator 305 a retheme similar to Orion at Kings Island and make that Flight of Fear the two rides in their own section called Area 75.

Funny you say that about the lift hill. For me when I went during spring break, the lift hill was at its original speed (we timed it because it felt faster than usual)

I was really hoping that they'd have updated the gear in Boo Blasters like what was done at Carowinds. Next up the bumper cars are needing an upgrade too!
Grizzly is so good now that Kings Dominion really has 3 standout rides. The new ride will give it an excellent top 4, could be even better than Carowinds’ top 4.

16:06 I went on may 10th and yeah I can agree with this. The lift hill was so much slower! And it’s so weird that their still playing start your engines and it’s much quieter

I dig the green track and brown supports on the coasters in that area, so I hope when they do repaint 305 that they incorporate that jungle green for the track and maybe update the trains or change the cars to like a jeep type feel if it’s doable
Normally the lift hill runs slower if it is raining or in an overcast day for project 305. Also you both missed the new flight of fear spiels for the station.

Visited here today and I305 was closed. Apparently the rides staff haven’t been showing up. I saw a guy there who had driven 3000 miles to come ride it and was devastated.
I have not been there since about '81. I'd love to go back and see it again now. Watching amusement park videos in recent months the memories have been coming back to me. I remember Rebel Yell and King Kobra and a spinning room ride in a mountain. (I know that's long gone now). There was a safari we went through at one point when I was only ... maybe six?! Then we moved to GA. Six Flags cannot hold a candle to VA parks for beauty, but we had fun there too in our teen years. Turns out I like all kinds of parks and all kinds of rides. But the beautiful parks! There's something special there! It would be great to go back and ride all their current stuff. I am curious though why they trended towards such generic naming. Take out an evocative name about striking fear in men's hearts in battle and go with... Racer 75...so sad. Billy Idol could gave helped. Lol. Maybe they figured any better name would end up with another eventual backlash of haters especially if they branched out to the other famed war cries that are so similar. But still... Wish they'd come up with something better at the time even seeing how hard that is in with a society that hates knowledge and passion.
Love this park it has one of the best atmospheres in US
I was there on Sunday and both Grizzly and Project 305 were closed. I was so disappointed 😩 I did, however, get to enjoy three rides on Twisted Timbers, which never gets old. Great video!
I should add, park employees shared with me that Grizzly won't be reopening until Memorial Day weekend. If you're visiting KD before then, don't expect it to be back open.

Grizzly is the smoothest since the 90s, possibly ever.
Pretty sure the slow lift hill was just that day. I've been there a couple times so far this year, and the lift hill wasn't any slower than normal.
There's certainly even more construction fencing up than a few weeks ago though, that's certainly a change
With Grizzlies retrack, I consider it a solid 3 in the park.
Cedar Fair & Kings Dominion are missing a big opportunity if they don’t give Intimidator-305 a Pitbull re-theme as Mr. 305, and crop everything that says “Dale Earnhardt” down to just “Dale”

I’ve never been to Kings Dominion but it looks like a very photogenic park, judging by that montage. A bunch of the rides and park seems to be surrounded by forest. Grizzly be so great makes me wish Wilde Beast here north of the border got more love. But honestly, I think it so far gone it’s more worthy of an RMC conversion.
It's weird p305s lifthill was slower for you guys. I've ridden it a few times this year and it's been totally normal
They should call it "Eye 305."

My rides this year on 305, the cable lidt speed was normal. Very fast lol. Prolly just something that day. I know millie has days where its lift goes slower than normal
Wow, I cant believe Kings Dominion is adding the worlds largest cotton candy stand!
Be sure to save all of your receipts at the food vendors at Kings Dominion. We had our receipt last year when we got falsely accused of stealing water. They had security looking for us for what turned out to be an hour over two bottles of water they thought we took. The park manager still has not contacted us to talk about it.
What is going on with Delirium? It was done all of last year and it still was down about a month ago when I visited.
I agree Grizzly and even Racer 75 are so much better and worth riding for sure! They even have both sides racing!

Them not choosing back row on Grizzly hurt my soul a little. It is rougher but the first drop is spectacular and the laterals hit way harder
I think it's their home park, if not they've been there many times. Probably done back row a lot already but yeah I know back is the best.
i love the red and yellow on i305, i hope they at least keep the track red. I think they need to keep it car themed in some way, just integrate it as best as possible.

Just went to Magic Mountain today and they got rid of the theater near Full Throttle. On the walls is said new thrills coming. Any speculations what the new ride could be at Magic Mountain.
I am so thankful to hear that Grizzly has been resolved, because god the last time I rode it a few years back was AWFUL

On the other hand, I got some more rides on it in March! The front row ride blew me away! I decided that it’s my favorite coaster at the park now!
When I went earlier in March I noticed 305's lift was slow and it was for the first several rides. Then later that day it was considerably faster and moving at its normal speed so I don't know what is up with it.

So, about that cable lift……. I was there on opening day and it was slow for the majority of the day. The last hour they sped it up to normal speed. I have no idea why it’s slow😂
Something new somewhat, is that they fixed all the lights and audio for flight of fear.
Country Kitchen closing is such a disappointment to me. It was my favorite spot to eat. Quiet, relaxing, southern hospitality, welcome to all, good music, good food, good shaded location.
To see specifically this restaurant, which offered that southern warmth and welcoming, be replaced by a cold, unwelcoming “prestige vip lounge” where oh you must be a special member and pay more to get in otherwise you’re turned away… just doesn’t feel right to me.
I hope Country Kitchen returns elsewhere in the park eventually
Hey CoasterStudios! I’m an American NZ expath, and next summer, I’m going back to where I’m from on a trip; the north east (the trip being centered in my home state of Delaware). I was wondering what the best amusement park/theme park to visit would be as I, someone in a country with a single big coaster, have been thirsty for some very thrilling coasters in specific. I’ve been to SFMM and am looking for something similar in thrill level in the north east area, kings dominion being furthest south I’d travel. Ohio is out of the charts. Thanks!
If Cedar Fair purchased an Intamin LSM, where would you guys say it would go and why?
I have a theory on what KD could add possibly in the future. What if, as a replacement for Volcano, they put in a launched B&M Invert like the concept for Canada's Wonderland. It would make a fitting replacement, and its clear Cedar Fair/Six Flags is willing to add a coaster of that magnitude.
I think many are betting on wing coaster given the geography and local competition. They couldn't do a B&M Hyper for Kings Dominion's Intimidator because Apollo's Chariot was next door so they went to Intamin to do a Giga coaster for them instead. Likewise, Kings Dominion pulling a B&M Invert would be competing with Alpengeist so they want a coaster that's very unique to draw guests over to Kings Dominion. A wing coaster would be a good enough fit since the only wing coasters nearby are out west and it will be a reliable ride at least compared to its predecessor.

They slow down 305 lift when it’s raining!
I can't get down with the grizzly. I rode it before the retrack, and just rode it again this last weekend and it is super rough. Racer 75 was much smoother than grizzly. Im sorry to hurt feelings. I really wanted to like it and i gave it 2 chances this past weekend. It makes invadR feel like an RMC. It really blows my mind that the general consensus is that it's so good and smooth now because to me it felt like it was coming apart and me and my wife couldn't wait to get off it.
Do a re-review of grizzly please 😊
I think "Eye 305" isn't a bad replacement name. Most jungle animals have big/fierce eyes anyway, and they could put a new sign with eyes sort of like what Rougarou has. And the name would sound identical.
