hi, i bought this camera some week ago, but i cant post production the file raf with any program. Ive got an Imac 5k retina from 2017 with all suite's adobe programs but if i open raf with LRC or Camera Raw or PS or LR, in first the file is 6mpx not 12mpx (so i think it reads only a part of ccd fotodiode) and in second i lost all settings about film and BW. Can u help me and explaneme what is the right work flow? Do u shoot in jpg? tnxs L.
Lightroom and PS should read both the S- and R-pixels. What's the resolution of the pictures when exporting from Lightroom? I don't really understand the question about film and BW settings. I have tried multiple RAW converters for these S5 Pro files and i find LR the best. Many users swear by HyperUtility. Silkypix converter is pretty good too. CaptureOne doesn't read the R-pixels
@@too_many_cameras ok i'll try to explane better. Well i shoot in raf not JPG. When i put my raf fil in PS or LR (CSS 2023 or 2022) the file lost all setting about color and the white balance, or kind of shoot (ex. if i shoot in black and white the shoot is in color and again lost the kind of film F1 F1a F1b F1c or F2) and most important the preview showme a bad qulity pic, with huge noise, infact the pics are just 6 mpx, problably, the software is showing only a 50% of ccd photo diode, the part dedicated to low light and the other 50% of ccd (the part dedicated to high lights) isn't presents. Someone toldme that i must flag a particular function on PS or LR to set both parts of sensor but i think he was kidding me. Well, now i try to understand what do i do to, exhactly, to post-prod this pic on LR or PS when i shoot in raf. ps. i read the CF card with a external reader, should i read it by the camera's usb port?
The film simulations in camera are for JPEG only. You can get them for RAWs too but you have to use HyperUtility. I did read about the LR setting to make it 12mp but i couldn't find it anywhere. My .RAF files are 12mp in lightroom. With S5 Pro you have to make sure to never go above ISO 1000 as you lose 14bit RAW and only the S-pixels are present
So if you want the film simulations in your pictures, shoot either JPEG or RAW + JPEG. It doesn't matter if you use a card reader or usb port. I use card reader too
Excellent! I also have the D610 but still prefer the S5 Pro for portraits. Thank you for sharing
Very cool sad man, I'm trying to get one too. How much was yours?
I've had two of these cameras. Both were under 100€, closer to 50€ if i remember correctly
