Once again, it sounds splendid. I think what's happening here is your technique has reached the level to where as long as the tools are in good working order, the rest of it is becoming secondary. Your skill level is such that you can squeeze what you need out of just about anything. The important point from here on out is the comfort and ease with which you'll be able to accomplish this. Obviously, you'll play better if you don't have to fight your gear, but you have established the neural pathways between brain, heart, and fingers to such a degree that if you were asked to sit in with somebody and you had none of your own stuff, you could get through the night with loaners. That's a good thing.
Once again,
CHEERS, and hats off!
Sounds really good on my end, but not as good as some of your vintage Fender amps. Basically its replacing a few pedals, but I'd prefer the flexibility of adding the pedal of my choice in front.
There 005 circuit that Taylor does a seriously nice. I actually had one on loan that was a 6550 75 watt circuit & it sounded very similar to my TR which is also a sss style circuit. Taylor builds some incredible amps
Thats the amp you bring to shows. Keep that vintage gear safe and sound at home and for recording.
Sounds wicked good. Proof also that great fingers can bring out the best in any gear….
The great Jeff Beck once walked into famous Regent Sounds guitar shop on Denmark Street London (where the Stones Recorded their first album + many other greats like the Who). Beck kindly offered those who happened to be in the shop a masterclass. He grabbed the nearest guitar, a regular $200 Squire, and plugged it into a new Fender pro junior and out poured the sound of Jeff Beck. Some thought it must be a special Squire and wanted to buy it, but the rest knew Jeff Beck and his talent were the reason. Amateurs look for gear, pros need the money and masters see the light. It must be pretty bright where you are right now.
I guess that's why he used his custom shop fender an Klon's to play on tour 😂😂😂😂
You have a great imagination
Translation: practice, practice, practice and leave expensive gear to rich or inexperienced.
@@ivandel7788Bro gotta burn his cash somehow, spending it on Custom Shop axe is the first thing that comes to mind.
🎸 🤔
@@dbb124Whether that story is true or not is irrelevant, he still made a valid point. There are countless people forever collecting expensive gear and starting their RUclips comments with "I have..." yet can barely play any tune.
Other guys sport cheap gear and play and sound like gods. 🤔
Dumbles are fender based with a good overdrive!! Also they are specifically voiced for guitar. Old fenders were voiced as PA,s in one box. The whole band used to plug in.
I figured someone beat me to it. I think Dumble was trying to get a sound he heard Robben Ford getting from a bassman.
actually it's a P V Classic Thirty Circuit with mods
@@joanstone6740 yes. That's kind of the circuit. But Robben has stated that the sound Alexander wanted to copy came from his bassman. I never claimed it was a fender circuit.
It's all good in the hood wood@@richardclark.
Sounds great..... you mentioned trying new stuff and getting inspired - I think the Les Paul with the P90s is definitely pushing you in new directions over the strat sound... I think it could be you're number one..!!👍👍
Wow
The clean is so full! Excellent playing as usual.
The new Marshall Studio JTM i think is the best 'modern' amp on the market at the moment and it sounds absolutely fantastic with that true British sound! Fender do that American sound so so well tho.
Fantastic guitar playing, fantastic guitar player. I wouldn't presume to be able to tell the difference between different amps considering all the various knobs, buttons, configurations and settings they have on amps of that size. But I know a good guitarist when I see and hear one. PEACE 🎸🤠👍
Still kills me when I see Mathew play that Goodwill Jr Special, I was watching it but I didn't bid on it. Glad it ended up with him so it will actually be played instead of sitting in a case of some CEO's collection.
How much did it go for?
I don't exactly remember, it was in really bad shape though so it wasn't a crazy number@@Krollz89
Nice sounding amp sweet cleans and the overdrive is like warm pie. Ummmm good
Good job with your playing...nice
Holly sh1t this is a tone! Your playing is wonderful!
a C H O N K Y ' E D blackface fender is how it sounds to me
Someone should tell the fender that blackface is no longer acceptable in today’s society.

Tell that to the thousands of the biggest top players.
They'll always be around.
Amp sounds great, Dumble tones definitely. If they sent you the amp to demo it might have been thoughtful to add a link to Amplified Nation's website in your description? But a good demo, beautifully played. Wish I could afford one but it would be wasted on my chops. 😏👍
always LOVE to watch you play! The amp sounds really good...
Kick Ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The amp and your playing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome vid, man! Dream amp right there for me. Always wanted something with verb, trem, and od that’s Blackface-ish. Definitely won’t ever be able to afford it though haha
Mathew! Sounds amazing as always. Any reason why you pick with the round side of the guitar pick?
Hi Matthew! As always I love the way you are playing (and as a strat lover I prefer the ‘59). Regarding the amp; I find it a bit flat. I miss the warmth and character. I feel that with my Marshall and with fender amps, but not in this case. ✌🏼
I have their Wonderland Overdrive. Great amp!
It would be nice to include the tabs to those great solos, that would boost your channel, I know it's only noodling but not so easy for some.
Thanks
Pure bliss listening to your playing once again ! Amazing stuff :)
Clean / crunch tones are nice, but when you crank up the overdrive it sounds weak and starved like it's cold biased.
Pretty unique sound.
I can’t really say I’ve heard an amp identical to it. Lot of mids. Unique
Raunchy
Nice L-2 ! I have a ‘49. Seriously underrated guitar
I could live with it
awesome sounding amp i want one! always look forward to your videos.
Yeah boy! Niiiiceee
"Curious to see what you think." I think you need to send that amp straight to me. 😂
sounds incredible!
This amps speaker is too new and tight.
The Dumble I played in mid 1970s was far different from what I'm hearing with this video.
We also ran it through a full sized Leslie cabinet from the Hammond.
B3. Yep, showing my age a tad..
Those are very cool amps.
Hey great stuff! Do you remember what speaker this amp had when you played it?
Sounds awesome dude!! I Dont doubt that one day you’ll own a real dumble amp
Buddy up to bonnamossa
Was that some philip sayce steamroller at 4:42?
When do we get a Matthew Scott custom shop Fender series?
Looks like a Dumble, sounds like a million bucks.
sounded like you were getting into Phish - "Sample in a Jar" for a few moments there. I found a 1960 Gibson Les Paul jr. thats been heavily modded. a pick up was added and a switch ....wiring and pickups are all random stuff and tuners are old Grover its lost its serial numbers and i think you can see the original paint still under there....looks like faded white to yellow or tv yellow....its only $800 ...its a day drive away so i cant just look at it but the clues point to it being legit a heavily modded routed out junior Im not skilled in total rebuilds but i think its worth it. I duno I thought of this channel when i saw it. should it be restored to original...played as is...should it be modded to a double cut single dog ear ? i feel like i might miss out. haha if i knew more id feel more comfortable buying it .
what’s your opinion on silver sky’s?? plz make a video or something
Wow that's awesome sounds great 😊I wouldn't mind one of those
Sounds great but way too harsh for my tastes. Is this a solid state rectifier?
Hi! Love your work. We all love tube amps but modern guitar amps/sims have come really far. It would be really fun if you tried a guitar sim/modelling amp, told us you bought a new vintage tube amp, and see if we could hear a difference
👍👍
22 Watts: I wonder how powerful that is? Church hall? Small theatre? Are valve amps louder than solid state?
All depends on speaker efficiency really
Short answer. Yes. Usually.
Yes. Usually twice' or more' Louder.
I like the Paul better Matt...has a little more grit.
Nasty! In a very good way. Your playing is superb bro. The Amps good but without a decent player to showcase what it can do, then it becomes just another Combo. Great stuff Matt.
Yeah, nasty is the word. Quite abrasive and it farts like a fuzz. I can see it in the hands of an indie player, albeit with treble turned down quite a bit.
I compare everything with my Toneking imperial Marc 3. This is when connected with your Strat. It sounds like the tweed side of my Toneking when I cut the mids. I like it a lot. Don’t give it back lol
I liked it. It's very defined.
Take a SLO 30 or 100 for a test drive.
If you buy one put some vintage 12ax7s in it.
I'm a Fender guy all day long, but I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't digging the way the strat sounded through this amp. The LP, however...woah. The tone you pulled out of that thing from 7:34 on was straight up DISGUSTING, and I'm here for it. Absolutely phenomenal.
My 22 watt is a fender super sonic . I get some nasty tones from it stock speaker sucks but swap it for a celestion neodymium creamback and it's killer
doesn't sound bad, but imho it lacks character and uniqueness. a good amp but kinda uninspiring. I always felt that the dumble sound is way overrated.
Nice amp and guitars.
Good equipment is nothing if you don't have the touch.
You have the touch.
How about running it in parallel with a deluxe to pick up the Fender cleans. I'd like to hear something like that.
Love that Les Paul p90 tone. You and PhilX have made me really like that gritty old sound. The amp is killer.
The P90s work best with it I think. I'd love to hear the SSS type amp too. Hopefully you can try one out.
Mathew, your are the best pure player on you tube there's allot of great pickers on you tube but nobody has your mojo, you have your own style , you dont try to be a great player but you are, im not blowing smoke man but i cant think of anybody that deserves a real dumble more than you but beleive me you dont need it to make anything better because you make the amps sound good not the other way around, and just fyi im a 61 year old guitar player and have played your style of music for 45 years with mediocre success .
Great sounding amp, but your 68 super with the JBLs can’t be beat!
Ooh, tasty chops fella :)
A link for the amp might be good :)
At the rate you have been accumulating gear I wouldn’t rule out you finding & buying a vintage Dumble amp somewhere in the future…. Just saying 😉. Stellar sounding amp here , I preferred the sound of the Les Paul , but I’m a Fender Strat guy myself , so I found that a bit weird to me. Anyway enjoyed this one Matthew . C-ya 😎
It’s really between the ears so called “snake oil” this amp sounds stellar no need for a new mortgage 😅
I used to own a Mesa Boogie amp, the studio 22plus. What an amp! Great amps!
Me too. Great amp.
I just picked up an Egnater rebel 30. It fantastic for club volume and doesnt loose that strat sound on the drive channel..
Your playing makes any amp sound cool.
The vintage fender have a bottom end that is so hard to get with newer amps, dont know if it comes with age but super reverbs always have the best tone to my ears. I would love to hear you play a Two rock and hear your thoughts on it maybe in the future
Awe my friend you got to try a Classic Reverb Signature or a sterling there SSS 004 circuit. I’m lucky enough to own a couple two rocks amps & one of Taylor’s ODR circuits at AN. All I can say is that after playing strictly old fenders they quite literally don’t compare to any of the Two Rocks I now own. Particularly the Classic Reverb it’s very much like a super reverb but just so much more more… full bodied, more tactile, more responsive, way less sag, & just a larger frequency range. But like you said I’d love to hear Matt through a Classic Reverb since that’s literally two Rocks most black faced based amp besides the new Vintage Deluxe they’ve put out. I think he would be like Jesse Davey & once he got his hands on a CSR he wouldn’t want to use anything else. Plus TRs pair quite well with fenders
I would love to try one one day soon! I know everyone has their amp settings different and its all subjective so ive always wanted to know how i can make it sound.I tend to love bottom end with my EQ finding a silhouette of Jessica Rabbit but I feel like an amp is like finding a partner even though it might be a great person they might not great for you so its all about finding what pairs best. Hopefully this leads to me even hearing amps i dont know about and learning more. Best part of content like this is opening up the questions and starting your own "i should try that out myself" moments. @@keithremedy
@@keithremedyGreat answer man. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on an AN Wonderland OD. As far as general quality of time and dynamics, would you say there’s any major differences between your Two Rocks and Amplified Nation amps? Thanks
i've never got the dumble thing, every sample i have herd has been underwhelming , that being said this sounded real good the best sample i've herd , emerald guitars has a couple samples i liked as well , , this amp seems to have a lot of presence which i dig , went back and listened to some of your other recordings , think maybe your on to something with this amp ...
there is a channel on youtube called millstap i believe , sound check 1 sound check 2 and 3 using a 59 or 60 bassman, best tone i have ever herd, they are old video's , it doesn't hurt he's playing hendrix and he's real good at it ...
Great sounding amp! As always your playing is superb!! Always injoy listening too you play. Keep up with the good videos and God bless. Peace brother!!
Some amazing playing as always. Not blown away by the amp though. Sounds like a much smaller amp.
I can't tell the difference between a 59 strat and a new strat, or a Squire. Guess I'm stupid. I have all of them.
Both guitars sounded good through it but when you plugged your Les Paul in that's when it sounded like a match.
i liked more on les paul thant the strat, i don't know it just seems to match more. it's a amazing amp!
That 2nd setting when you played the LP sounded similar to the setting I use on my old Orange OR120. Cool amp pal.
I'm not sure I'm diggin the amp, but then again this is not live but compressed RUclips. However, your SRV tone video was spot on with the same Strat! Talent is definitely there of course.
matthew what is your though bout silvertone, armony, supro ecc?
I don’t think you’ll like hearing this but it’s the best you’ve ever sounded to my ears!
VHT makes a Dumble-style, the D50, which comes in under $1k for the head. It’s the only experience I’ve had with a D-type and it’s definitely interesting. I’d love one just for the cleans.
Good afternoon young Matthew, your sounding good, never hurts to try new things.
Does that go for girlfriends as well? Ha!
That amp wants to go !! Really had that Bonamassa thing going.
Bonamassa actually uses AN Overdrive Reverb time to time.
Sounds great man. Though, it's you playing, so it's gonna sound good.
To think you will never have one is no way to think, the more popular you get, the more chances you will have to pick one up somewhere down the road. You're well on your way to doing that, so instead of saying never, say one day maybe
You could get one of dumbles modded amps, they are still in price of a new truck below 50Gs
Great amp but $3800 for 22w 6V6 with no tube rectification is a bit pricey for me.
6L6 with tube rec is $4500 ouch. Maybe when I hit the big time.
😂
👍🔥🎸🦅Awesome
My Friend your quality playing is what counts . To me its not the amp its your talent , you play with feel and soul . That is what makes an impression on me every time I check your channel ... Congrats you will sound great even on a Spark amp . Positive Grid inexpensive gear.
I really like it…sounds very creamy and glass like w/the ‘59 Strat and warm and overdriven w/the Les Paul…
That Les Paul is so awesome. Love the sound and look of it.
Clean loud headroom in a fender style I'd recommend a Music Man HD 130 or Boogie Coliseum if you dare.
Aplified nation is incredible, ive been wanting one for some time now
Wow! That's a very fast amp Matthew. That attack is crisp. Great playing.
It sounds thin imo. It lacks the impressive bass end you're known for. Could just be the mix, though. Those junk pedalpawn, or whatever they were called, pedals did the same thing.
It's nice,it's expensive, but it's not you.. Maybe I'm old, hell I am old but I still love those old amps you've been playing. It sounds different to me. Not bad, just different. Of course you could make a ukulele with two strings sound great.
Despite this video's premise, Matt, it quickly proves something far more important, that it's the player, not the gear. I theorize that if most of us spent more time playing than trying to run down gear we'd discover the holy grail is something that comes from within. Kudos! Oh and yeah the amp passes but so do the ones behind you.
Sounds killer!
I much prefer the Strat through a Fender amp, but you always manage to make everything sound good.
Sounds amazing, the intro!
I think it's great that you're branching out, and your familiarity with old Fender Amps and tone should serve you well. I hope you spend time focusing on Cab design and Speaker make, model, and Frequency Response Specs, as that is a critical area that is often overlooked.
Right off the bat, this doesn't sound anywhere near as good as your other amps. There's a definite lack of your normal tone in my opinion.
Great, great amp!
yes that is how a guitar amp sounds thank you for reminding us.
