Blimey! On the strength of that intro I am 100% convinced. The cleans just speak for themselves, astounding... and on the plexi side, the tones really did seem to sing.
Yes! Amplified Nation amps are insanely good. Their Steel String Singer amp was the first one that made my jaw drop even more than a Magnatone Twilighter Stereo. Yes they are expensive, but not much more than other high end amps like Soldano, Magnatone, and TwoRock.
All the videos I have seen of the mag twi 2x12 stereo, it sounds like an AMP I would really love really livens the Room it is played in, to bad they are break a bank account expensive as well as any great amp. by Amplified Nation. Wish I could send a Amp. Nation to JOHN CORDY, with his playing it just screams for it. That is one of the Beautys of the Modelling world NO ONE OFFERS a MAGNATONE in any of the Modellers yet, they NEED to, along with that VIRASTAR Tremelo. Wish they would.
@@loulagro2315 Yeah I have studied it, seen the newer Viraster, seen that spelled a couple different ways to, it is the circuit and a really COOL one/Pitch shifting vibrato. The closest Fender ever came was the harmonic trem. in the Brown Face amps.
@ksharpe10 , Yes it's pretty awesome. I have collected a whole bunch of old Maggie's from 1959's to 1968, .... 260A's, 213, 413, 441A/442/T42 ..... they're all very unique cool sounding amps. Magnatone vibrato is definitely different sounding than Fenders harmonic trem in the larger Brownface line. On a day to day usability I actually prefer Fender harmonic or even the brownface bias trem on the smaller brownfaces but it's all personal preference.
I love that you guys are doing all of these amp captures. I am buying all of them for my TONEX. Another really cool clean tone amp would be Magnatone. Their Twilighter Stereo and Panoramic amps are insane. The Amplified Nation Steel String Singer is another incredible amp.
Wow, this is such a good tone and playing! I only hope it has not been post produced, as it sounds too good. Also the first time I fell in love with this "single coils" on the LP in combination with the Plexi channel, just awesome!
One of the best reviews and demonstrations of this particular AN amplifier model. I’d buy the 22 watt in a heartbeat - just need to sell my Mk1 Boogie RI first🥴
Man, that is the best tone I've ever heard. I already have a 2x12 cab loaded with Creambacks (one Neo and one regular M65). I must have the 50 watt head.
All these amps sound just amazing. I'm new to the channel but I have now subscribed. I will have to search your videos about how you record for your channel. I know some of this is your playing and these amazing Amplified Nation amps. What did you use to attenuate. The ironman II?
Before you finished the sentence starting with “now this is subjective,” I was thinking “yes. Agreed.” That’s THE clean tone for me. Hopefully I can find one of these amps when I hit the lottery…😂 Reverb is really nice but I do wish it had the Dumble send/return for laying it on …WHAT? The gain sound?!?! 100% agree that this would probably be the only amp I would need. Only thing left to test would be running a metal dist preamp through the fx loop for some chunk. Nice vid, paul. The clean channel already has a lot of gain even at a low level.Very impressive sound similar in gain to a bassman but with the "sweetness" of a black panel amp
Got the tonex packs tonight for this and the /13 tweed. If they sound anywhere close to the matchless patch I am in for a treat. I beg of you, please get a /13 RSA23 or BTR 23 (I am a former BTR owner and never should have sold it ) or an FTR37 and do whatever you did to the Matchless for Tonex. I can't get over how much your matchless patch sounds to my Bad Cat. Sounds fantastic with every guitar with minimal tweaking. Thanks for all you guys have done for the Tonex platform and the channel overall.
@@benallmark9671 they are all amazing. I prefer this one with a strat and TSR matchless independence for soapbars, my tele and humbuckers. Will also say the /13 tweed and Friedman BE50 are also fantastic.
Paul, I would pay for QC captures of this! I mainly use a Bassman in my QC, would love both sides of this. My main electrics being a 1989 V62 reissue Strat and a P90 Revstar Pro, not too dissimilar to what you used here. Great playing, great channel. Thank you.
Man between this and the Matchless Independence you reviewed with the Guvnor pedal not sure which one is my favorite. They both sound amazing! Thanks for the awesome reviews!
Hi, please could you tell me in which way you miked this amp? I don’t see any mics, did you use some other cabinet, or you used some reactive load box? Thanks!
Paul, I really appreciate the excellent information, great video content and the variety of gear you demo...which always achieves excellent results and I find extremely helpful ! I have a question and since I find your demos very trustworthy. I currently have a Bogner Goldfinger (GF) SL45 and it does the Fender BF and Marshall Plexi thing very well in a two channel format. However, it's a head/cabinet and I'd prefer a combo. When I saw your demo the Amplified Nation Ampliphonix and Gain I thought wow, this amp is worth looking into to achieve the type of sounds I want and in a combo format...do you feel this amp is really as good as advertised and could take the place of my Bogner GF? Thank you.
Well the price is around Mesa Mark series, some Friedmans, maybe a Bogner Uber and some other brands. A new Fender 65 blackface reissue is $2k nothing is cheap anymore. If you want quality it’s gonna cost. Luv the Plexi side and Dumblish side. Best of both worlds. I need at least 50w 🤦🏼♂️😂
This over a Mesa Mark all day. Not even close imo. Yes I suspect all these ppl complaining about prices for Quality handmade gear will be in for a rude awakening in the future when they realize it’s only going to get more expensive the longer they wait 😂 This isn’t eggs where lower inflation drops the price in the future, this is unfortunately reality now. Everybody is in different stages of denial, but in the end builders know what the market will bear. In the age of digital everything and Ai pop music, we should be thankful AN is building tube amps at all!
i got a strat for that kind of tone and was looking for the amp and feel... i also love overdrive and distortion.,,, omg will this be the end of my search!?
I'd love to try one out. They seem to be too high gain, all the demos have quite a bit of crunch at low volume. The only clean tone demo was with very light playing, I wish you had dug in a little at that point. I love the tone but I need versatility and clean headroom is a must.
I like those tones a lot, and dialed in something near identical on my HX Stomp "Grammatico" Preset, which is based on a Dumble, a couple months ago! 😎
Please try the preamp out into CAB IR's and EFX - I want to see about a Recording Preamp based upon Ampliphonics + Gain circuit . And talk Amplified Nation into it ...
Hello Paul! Could you help me please? I've tried every Tonex profile of you with my Masterbuilt Fender Strat and couldn't find a sound even remotely similar to the one in your intro! This is because Tonex is incomparable in sound quality and realism to a real amplifier, isn’t it? strange, since I was able to create profiles that look very similar to the real amp
And I like your tasty directed playing ... There is no noise from the Strat Style Pickups - and they seem to have more bottom end than Fenders - what are they ?
In closeups of the amp face around 7 min in you appeared to have the treble down at around 1/3 and the bass up around 2/3 to 3/4 - is that perhaps why you still felt you needed the bright switch on when you were playing the Strat?
Any chance of giving us a demo of the captures for this amp for the ToneX maybe as a side by side im really interested in this. Can get these amps here in Australia but I’m tempted with a simplified pedalboard using HX effects and the ToneX using midi to change patches on the ToneX.
It’s very different to the X amp, the X has more punch, I’m guessing that this combo is only 22 watts has a lot to do with it and the higher powered versions would be more like it.
@@TheStudioRats Yes. There is a lot of praise for low-powered amps these days, but IMO, 50 watts and up does give you something extra: punch. And of course, more headroom. Same sort of thing for speaker cabs. 1x12's are common. But a closed-back 4x12 can't be beat for thump. It all largely depends on what type of music you play, as well as if you need to lug the things around. If I were to buy an Ampliphonix and Gain, I'd get an EL34 50-watt, since that is more appropriate for the Gain/Marshallesque side of things. But I'm also tempted by the AN Reverb Overdrive. I already have a 1986 JCM 800 2203, though I'd sell it if buying the Amp and Gain.
