The Full Story of Resident Evil 6 - Before You Play Resident Evil: Village

- Resident Evil's story may have started out as fairly simple and straightforward two and a half decades ago, but as time has gone on, it's become more and more convoluted. With Resident Evil 6, the series touched never-before-seen heights of ridiculousness and nonsense insanity. Though it tried to raise the stakes higher than ever with a globe trotting story and four separate campaigns focusing on different characters who would often cross paths with each other, it escalated things a bit too much, and the only thing it ended up doing was tell a confusing, muddled tale.
Either way, over the last few weeks and months, we have been going through the franchise bit by bit as we recount its entire story, and now, it's time for Resident Evil 6. So here, we're going to go over its full story, from beginning to end. Buckle up- this'll be a bumpy one. Игры
Give this man a raise for trying to explain this total mess of a story
@Castor Tarantino Easy to hate. It's a badly made, buggy, non-scary shit show of a game.
Yeah, because RE games before this had such deep, mind-bending stories. RE4 had the president's daughter SOMEHOW being kidnapped, and then the Prez sends ONE DUDE to get her back, for Pete's sake. That's called a B-Movie plot if I ever heard one. Re6 at least had a 100 million dollar blockbuster B-Movie plot...

I love the game as well but the story is really bad. A main villain simping over ada wong and fighting leon over her will always be a shit idea. Doesn't mean the game itself is bad
@@madara2472 You're literally talking about the story to ONE campaign. Leon and Jake's had very little to do with that, and aside from the memory loss, Chris' was really engaging.
Really getting sick of people saying "RE6's story was too ridiculous for Resident Evil!" Please, this is the same series where a single virus in the first game: turned people into zombies, turned snakes and spiders into man-eating giants, turned a *house plant* into a building-sized blood-sucking predator capable of actively hunting people with its tentacles and acidic sap spray, could be used to splice reptile DNA into human babies to make them into killing machines, and turned one person into a deformed bulletproof giant because they were "genetically compatible" with it. And technically it also made a giant zombie shark, but not really, because the giant zombie shark boss only appeared in the 2002 remake, as did the idea that "killed" zombies could revive as faster, stronger, nastier versions of themselves. All of which took place in a house that was full of secret passages and bizarre locks because the owner was a spy novel/gothic melodrama otaku and wanted his mansion to have those things in their image. Ridiculousness is an inherent PART of Resident Evil's DNA.

I liked re6. Kinda wish a future re would use the multi storyline converging again but with horror not action
I liked all resident evil games except the movies with Alice but I agree they should bring the multi storyline back.
Could over complicate the game with them not putting enough effort into any one storyline unless they make a massive 2 games in one. I'd rather have multiple games telling the same story through different perspectives like RE 2 and 3.
@Peyton Simien I’m kinda hoping We get a small Christ campaign dlc
Story kinda sucked but I did enjoy playing the game. It's easy to shit on it but as long as you enjoyed it it's a good game to me
What I disliked it then making fucking side games that don’t mean shit to the main story lol like the raccoon city game and code Veronica like it just confused more people but at least resident evil is back in good form at least somewhat even tho I have no mf clue what’s going on there either like Is it a continuation ? Or is it a whole reboot since Chris was at the end of resident evil 7
Don't know why RE6 got so much hates and bad reviews i really enjoy every second of it i love how every camping shared same a boss with each other
Finn , Piers and Marko death were so sad
It wasn't a bad game, but it was a bad Resident Evil game
@Prince Smith I’m not a big resident evil fan myself. I played the first few skipped a few in the middle then played 6. From my limited understanding is that the series started off as survival horror and eventually transitioned into a more action shooter with horror elements before going back to survival horror. The fan base seems to be split on which type is better however if this is an equal split I couldn’t tell you but I know plenty complained about the shoot em up style the series was going.
Outside of Piers, I kept forgetting the names of Chris’ entire team 😂
@Prince Smith previous ones tbh, RE6 was leaning more towards generic shooter, constant explosions and shootouts weren't really a RE thing.
@@mtb5431 they were all generic no-name soldiers except for Finn, because Chris had to be sad about the situation
Leon: using sneak tactics, I can knock a zombie off guard and smash it's head into the ground ending it.
Wesker jr: using martial arts I can stun and stagger my opponent, leaving him open to a finishing blow.
Ada: using my acrobatics and silent ranged weapons I can get in, eliminate threats, and get out undetected.
Chris Redfield: WHOOP THE DOGSHIT OUT OF EM
So pretty much Ada is the winner toward beating a story mode with undetectable tactics
Oh look another video shitting on RE6. This game rocks.
I like the game too.

I must admit, I really like RE6. I like the action aspect of it.
Same
TBH RE6 doesn't deserve all those hate and I really really really enjoyed its story and game play. It wasn't perfect but it was so enjoyable until the end. I'm still waiting for Ada's "new mission" and Jake's C-Virus extermination journey. RE7 (at first) turned me down as I thought Ada was the one calling Ethan (only to end up as Zoe; no complaints tho) and that it was so "disconnected" with RE6's continuation. But after playing RE7, I just fell in love with it immediately. RE7 gave us VILlage and for that, I am so grateful. I really just wish RE6 ending will have a continuation and not to have it scrapped or forgotten :P
Anyways, VILlage here we come!! ♥
RE6 is a lot of fun , crazy that it gets so much hate.
Even crazier that people like it
You right a lot of people hate it but I loved it it was the best one I played I like resident evil 6 cuz they bring back all the old school characters
first game to have leon and chris was a great game and story but was not a horror game.
@@John-996 it was a horror / action but it was more action than horror but it was still pretty good

And you mentioned but missed out Ada's campaign and how she puts down Carla.
Story was a mess, but compared to games from 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, RE6 is looking like a smash hit crazy big value for the money game of the year masterpiece edition. Did RE6 have any bugs? no. It was 4 FINISHED campaigns at launch with mercenaries mode. Then they did free DLC with 4 vs modes. Compared to Fallout 76, Anthem and Cyberpunk...even Capcoms failures are GOLD. Capcom are GODS. On the same level as Valve and Rockstar IMO
RE 6 was a blast.
Yes!! People are so quick to hate on the new releases.
Thank you for this, man! RE5 and RE6 were my least favorite Resi's and your video on the two games was just outstanding! Keep it up, man! :D
Exactly man! I disliked both myself, but this explanation really hit home!
You don't need to know anything because RE8 is not related to any game except the character Chris. Even then you don't even need to know his story because his arc is not carried over from any of the previous game.
His arc is still cannon. But it's not really brought up in any way so it's still not THAT important.
@@alexhollon7526 He punched a boulder! That's important.
@@zZiL341yRj736 Oh that takes precedent. No boulder punching? #NotMyChris
Exactly this recap is not necessary because Re7 & Re8 are not even following this canon
The first RE game that I completed. Yeah, it's a bad game RE game but a very cool action game. I enjoyed it.
its even better in coop mode, but still a bad RE game
I’m with u there Leon’s campaign was closest to resi but defo a lot more action game
Still more fun to play than RE7, which is just a bare bone game with 3 difficulties.
@@zZiL341yRj736 you really didn't like it I thought the atmosphere was phenomenal and Jack and Marguerite Baker were pretty badass antagonist but I do think it was criminally short and they could have added a bunch more content into it for sure but it was a good start for the change they were going for feel like they're really going to kick ass with Resident Evil Village hell they're saying it's the largest one ever made ton of enemy variety cuz for damn sure aside from some kickass boss battles resi 7 enemy variety sucked ass
I really like re6 myself... I thought it was visually a little under whelming for an RE title but the game play was pretty solid and I loved doing the game 2 player and completing senerios with my friends

@@TheKareem1212 yeah I can't take that seriously for so many reasons. Even this video spends most of its time ripping RE6. REmake 2, since you chose that for whatever reason, has a lot more love for it than 6. Besides, a true RE player knows the point is to AVOID encounters and conserve resources. You only fight when you have to. RE6 is Call Of Duty with zombies and rarely gives you a no fight option. You like it, that's cool. You do you. But you are in the minority here, sorry.

I agree this was the only RE game other than RE4 that I actually finished as they both kept me interested in the game and wanting to complete them. My only gripe with RE6 is the wonky camera angle during the fifth Chris chapter when your trying to escape the Giant BOW Teloose birth chamber other than that one small part loved the game and had a last playing it on co-op both online and off as well as single player. it was one of the longer game play games that came out on the PS3 where as most games could be beat in four to six hours this one actually took a fair bit of time especially if your looking for all the bonuses and easter eggs. I've herd a lot of people slamming warhammer 4ok space marines two and that was another solid PS3 game so I don't listen to too many critics and just cause a game goes in a new direction doesn't mean it sucks cause it changes it a bit. everything this narrator complained about is basically seen throughtout the whole RE franchise FFS, get over it RE5 sucked the most out of all of them.
the story was all over the place but I LOVED RE:6 co-op mode. It was super fun to play with people online.
I honestly needed this dear god what would I do without you guys explaining the resident evil game for me
I enjoyed playing Re6 very underrated resident evil game
When are we going to get a Parasite Eve Remake???
Riddle me that...
As much as I would like that, there are legal issues. It was based on a book that Square would have to license out the name and some of its themes to again. This license ended somewhere after Parasite Eve II. This is why The 3rd Birthday is not called Parasite Eve III and has barely any ties to the previous games story wise. I guess they were legally safe to use certain characters though since I assume they created them? I never read the book to be honest. Just know the legal drama here.
@@danielthomas7193 I hate it when stuff like that happens
I remember being so excited for this game when it was in development. But then it came out and....... flesh T-Rex, and way way too many QTEs.
I know right such a bummer
I thought the t-rex was kind of cool. The QTEs were terrible though
Even though this game had an identity crisis, it's really not as bad as its made out to be. Yeah it's basically an action game, but that's okay. Developers of the series were trying something new. Sure it didn't work out too well, but they still made a game that a lot of people enjoy. I preferred Leon's campaign due to re2 and 4. But I also like Chris's because of 1 and 5
This game was underrated , I really enjoyed this , i hate first person RE
i’ve always loved this res6 tbh. i’ve played through all the campaigns multiple times lol
I played the hell out of this game it was fun and different. I want them to remaster Re5
I just finished RE6 and honestly, if not for the action dailed to 11 and other factors (horrible QTE's, confusing UI, the abysmal skill point system), its actually a really interesting story explaining a lot of the lore of the series characters. Hopefully if Capcom decided to remake this in the future, they treat it with the same respect as RE2R and RE4R, and can shorten major sections of each campaigns while adding more grounded horror with it.
God resident evil 6 was such a mess of a story that I had no idea what the hell was going on however the one thing I liked about this game was Leon and Chris Redfield teaming up which I thought was really awesome and tons of fun at least in my opinion.
Resident evil 6 is not a mess you just don't like it like resident evil 6 better cuz they brung back all the old school characters Leon Chris Sherry and Ada that's why I think it's better 💯 everybody had their own story it was pretty good
Resident Evil 6 is actually a great game, but the entire gameplay is more of an action than horror. I think that the resident evil 6 is the final game that ends the spread of the C Virus, while 7 and 8 is the evolvement of the mold. The story may be messy, but it really completes the resident evil series.
Re6 was on path to be a really great game. They just thought too big with the story and unnecessarily having you play three different stories when Leon’s was the one they put the most time in to. That, and the action style game play was a gamble that didn’t pay off and took the fear and suspense out of the whole game. I think they were going for what they actually did in the RE2 remake more than anything as far as style and gameplay.
Yeah they tried too hard with this game! I mean it's great that you get a chance to play with different characters, but still it shouldn't have took that much doing for a complete, solid story. Too many twist, turns, and confusion.
I love the story and the gameplay very good resident evil 6 is 1 of my favorite resident evil games
9:30 could jack baker have been trying to get Ethan to join this organization the whole time?
I love re6
This story seems cool to me.
it is cool crazy action plot
RE6 was more like Gears of Resident Evil
this story needed an explination thx
I play this many times if you want feel like real RE game then play with Leon & others story is like action Shooter game.
Jill would have been a much better choice for a PTSD storyline then Chris given everything she went through in RE5.

I treat this game like Monster Hunter Generation.. All the Fan Favorite, Over the top action with soooo much content you can split them into 2 games..
-Are they the best in the series? Hell no.
-Are they crazy good and fun? Hell Yes!!!
-Are they worth the price? Definitely!! especially since they go on sale alot.
I try to enjoy games for what they offer and such. Comparisons are the least and last thing I will do once I finished it and want to bring constructive criticism to it and what they can improve..

What I think everyone fails to realize, is that this may be the *Family* we see in 7, and Village.
The very first mention of the "Family" was brought up in 6 as a the secret society we see National Security Advisor, Derek Simmons at the behest of. Carla Radames was leading "Neo-Umbrella" a Chinese sect of of the Family that Simmons granted Carla access over.
What I'm thinking, from what we've seen so far in Village, is that there are two Umbrella's, the Umbrella Corporation and the Umbrella Family. Naturally somewhere deep in history, the Umbrella family was established in medieval Europe while the Umbrella Corporation was only founded in the late 60's to finish the bidding of the Umbrella family on a world scale, without revealing the Family of course.
It would be during the late 90's and early 2000's during the height of Umbrella Corporation and their legal downfall that the Umbrella family lost contact/or was severed by leaders of the Corporate Umbrella. Obviously once government men like Simmons and Spencer were high enough into global and government politics, they didn't need the financial support or guidance of the Umbrella family leaders and began funneling resources and viruses for their own research.
This explains why the Family still assassinated Carla after Simmons was infected, why Chrysalid virus was so close characteristically to the mutamcyete (mold) from RE7, and most importantly why Umbrella's likeness was mentioned and used throughout the entire game but yet the logo never appeared, until Simmons' blood pooled out to form the Umbrella logo.
It was a coup, somehow, the original Family, our Family in 8, orchestrated the splintered cell and fall of the Umbrella Corporation so their Family could again maintain control over America as they have already maintained Eurasia since early man.
Umbrella Corporation as a conglomerate only pioneered the pharmaceutical and BOW industry through the 19th century, it's prime researchers like Spencer, Edward Ashford, Wesker and Birkin who made eugenics progression from a stagnate company. While political leaders (2nd generation Umbrella Corp) like Simmons, Vladimir, and HUNK only sought to preserve the Company's reputation and resource, not it's true identity as divine intervention.
Albert Wesker who betrayed the company before it's downfall in 98' went on to conduct greater eugenics by using all of Umbrella Corps original research. But was solely for the purpose of eugenic evolution and not political or financial gain.
This is the plot we're seeing take place in Village. An entire village in an isolated region, a shadow state, that is solely focusing their entire rsource and effort to conducting a *Ceremony* that is, inevitable eugenic evolution.
Considering this Village has a Gothic Castle, a Factory, Reservoir, a Mansion, cemetery/ritual grounds, a Stronghold, Village residence, this is undeniably Raccoon City's predecessor. It's obvious that the layout of the Village was used during the early developments of Raccoon City. Complete with two major underground laboratories landmarked by a European mansion, an art museum transitioned into a police station, as well as an elaborate underground system retrofitted with European decor.
*As above as so below*
Capcom are obviously paralleling America's Colonial and Revolutionary history. European leaders like George Washington and Thomas Edison that pioneered the Americana landscape, leaving a wake of European and colonial architecture. Naturally these men were European Freemasons on native and political territory. Just as Spencer was with the Npadya tribe, and when he a European founded an American pharmaceutical.
This story is so crazy it's hard to follow even a summary.
Press F to pay Respects to the people at this channel that had to explain this mess.

Thanks. I just bought re6 on sale and tried so hard to like something about it enough to make it through just Leon’s ivy college part. It’s so trash I couldn’t do it, deleted it, and found this video to explain what I missed out on. The gameplay was so trash even for an action game.
This was a weird state for the game. The movement and weapon setup and the melee attacks were all great. Story is kinda goofy. Also Chris and Leon have the same voice
Cool video but I'm sure u can crack on playing 6 without needing to know what happened in 6. Village is somewhat standalone storywise to the previous games
Nice
They got away from their Zombie, pharmaceutical company, one stalker roots and became a shoot ‘em up game.. the action is fine it’s the story that low key blows..our characters were city cops and STARS members and family members of those people..suddenly it evolved just as fast as FAST and the Furious did..the same way vin diesel now saves the world in a much more prominent way out characters here do too!!
That’s why 7 was so successful..
Not just the game play being less action packed..we love the action look at how they blended 8
But because of how the molded reminded us of an older time..slow, but powerful SCARY enemies that you sometimes have to evade rather than just shoot up
8 took everything 7 did right with the enemies resembling an older time and took it a step further and gave us more boss battles…
Yes this game has its flaws but if it wasn’t for this game we wouldn’t have the stories we have now..plus the nostalgia is real here for multiple generations who came together and said Woah to this game
