The Full Story of Ethan - Before You Play Resident Evil: Village

- When Resident Evil decided to reinvent itself once again in 2017 with RE7, it did so in some major ways, to the extent that even the protagonist that players played as was a completely new character with no previous connection to the series' winding lore and overarching story.
While series fans had become used to playing as extremely capable and established characters, in RE7, we stepped into the shoes of Ethan Winters, who's just... a normal, vanilla guy.
He was certainly put through the wringer during the events of that game, and he's going to return in his capacity as the primary protagonist in Resident Evil Village, so before the next mainline RE game launches, here, we're going to catch up on all the events of the previous game, and take a look at the full story of Ethan so far.

Chris tried to bring Rose and Ethan to some other place. Mia isn’t dead. Mother Miranda has shape shifting abilities so she made herself look like Mia. Miranda tried to take Rose away to bring back her dead daughter by using Rose’s body to contain Miranda’s daughter’s soul or something.

The reason eathans daughter is so important is because Ethan and Mia were at the baker estate and had the gift even though evie is dead they still have the gift so there daughter has it in her 2 so that's one of the reasons the cult wants his daughter

I feel really bad for Ethan he's just a normal guy trying to life a normal life until one day he goes to find his missing wife and almost dies even though he didn't die he still would've been traumatized by what happened and RE8 Village he is looking for his missing daughter when he suddenly realizes that what happened back in RE7 is going to happen again just for other reasons and caused by other things even in the RE8 Village demo after he escapes from the burning house he yells out "WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME!"

Why do I get a feeling that the narrator didn’t even play the game? A lot of stuff was left out from the dlc and the mispronunciation of Eveline was bugging me :/

It's called a summary. If he's going to tell all the detail, this wouldn't be an easy watch like what they meant it to be.
The end of Zoe and the lost video tapes they wrap up everything they wrap up all of the loose ends you should really play all of the DLC except for Jack's birthday that's just a fun little side mission

I know looking at the village trailer when Chris took Mia and Ethan’s baby Rosemary that some people more than myself had to realize that the baby has the mole virus inside of her as well

how the fuck does Ethan go from finding Mia in a bayou, killing the baker family and especially the great Jack Baker (fucking amazing character by the way) and then escaping getting most likely infected by a mold virus which effect of the baker family to fighting a bunch of fucking werewolves and vampires in the Woods And a castle.

I always thought Ethan Winters was going to be a one-time character like Steve Burnside or Ark Thompson, but I guess he was deemed "cool" enough to bring back, I just hope they made him a lot better than he was in 7.
I thought for being such a vanilla guy him casually taking on monstrosities like jack bakers 3rd form and saying shit like “this is getting really old,jack!” Made him a certified badass to me. He wasn’t afraid to fuck shit up.
I'm happy that we are continuing with Ethan since I found him to be enjoyable to play as.

Thanks for uploading this. I had brain surgery and playing 1st person games really makes me dizzy so I haven't played Resident Evil 7. Was always a fan of the R.E series and was curious about the story.

So their daughter's name is Rosemary? Does anyone realize their was a movie called Rosemary's Baby about a daughter "not of this world"? Obviously Rosemary isn't the mother in this case. But I feel this is a clue left by the developers.

I thought I knew what this game would hold for me cuz of the demo, but the demo doesn't even scratch the surface and thus, I played this game when it went on sale one time, and boi was I supposed, not only was it *Good* , but it's one of the best games in the series as a whole, had the right amount of all things that make a great RE game in spades and was actually scary again!!!...

i just played both RE7 and RE8 in VR. The best gaming experience I've ever had. Completely blew me away.
So....this is a story walkthrough rather than some actual knowledge about Ethan? If you’ve played the game then you know all of this except for maybe the last bit with Chris in Village...

Very early in the intro it establishes that not all is as it seems. Mia is acting strange and hiding things, Chris shows up and says he is sorry and acts as though explaining would be useless at that time because it seems as though he doesn't even have the full scope of what is happening, and when you wake up (PART OF THE DEMO AND THE VERY START OF THE GAME) there is a not that says their goals were to "eliminate the target" and to recover ethan and rosemary winters to a secure site. That implies they were NOT secure and something was massively off. The game leaves little sprinkle clues that I won't spoil in form of notes on desks from the 4 lords and some of the villagers I HIGHLY recommend reading on your first playthrough. They will both add to the story and further juice up the little thoughts popping in your noggin as you go
Ethan is not an average guy and most assuredly had some type of combat training. The way he handles himself in combat tells us he is not as green as he let's on. There are several things that stand out in Ethan's fight with Mia that I would like to highlight. I will make this as brief as possible but here goes...
1. During Ethan and Mia's fight they clash with three different weapons (butcher knife, hatchet, chainsaw). Ethan successfully fends Mia off while he's being stabbed repeatedly unarmed. Instead of running he procures a weapon and preceded to use it offensively in order to stop the threat.
2. Ethan scores a fatal blow striking her clavicle. When she falls he does not check her vitals, he does not call for help, and is only interested in leaving the scene. He stops the threat and shows very little signs of emotion. He doesn't cry, sulk, or even pause after she hits the floor...the threat is neutralized and Ethan is moving forward.
3. When Mia cuts Ethan's hand off with a chainsaw he finds a handgun and says "Alright, let's do this." When he engages Mia he shows no signs of emotional fatigue and has no issues working said firearm under extreme duress with one hand. This is not easily done at a shooting range and takes an awful lot of muscle memory to get it right repeatedly.

This is RE Double agents amd Sleeper Cell spies are normal occurring wouldn't be surprised if ethan and mia work from opposing team or ethan is just someone behind the curtains a Soldier Who just wants a Normal life then discount his wife was a agent like him. Kinda like the plot of Mr & Mrs. Smith?

If I had to guess Ethan was infected with the Evelyne virus between the time Jack punch Ethan uncouncious and the time his arm was reattached otherwise how would his left hand still work after all that? same if you get youre left foot cut off by jack with a little bottle of medecine it is highly doubtful the leg would work again and maybe the reason the daughter is important is maybe either Ethan really was infected and transmited the virus onto his daughter or there still some trace of the infection in Mia's body after taking the cure just like Jill when she got infected by the Nemisis and cured by Carlos
ethan was infected with the mold so that’s why he was able to reattach his arm and leg and it could work perfectly. the first aid med also promotes fast cell regeneration also
Game wise I agree that Ethan was infected by Eveline, but he never cured himself. He might have after getting rescued. That also doesn't change the fact that Mia was a bit of the antagonist of the game for working for the company that created Eveline.
Ethan is my favorite character in RE besides Leon. I hope he’s not really dead.

And with that so Ends The Resident Evil Marathon. As well As Village itself. Such a fantastic Game. While I do have a theory on how Ethan Winters will come back to life will just have to wait and see. For resident evil 9. The finale of the Ethan Winters Trilogy.
The monster that Ethan use the serum wasn’t jack but Lucas that insta transformed after Ethan shot Him , and there was no mention of the dlc where Zoe gets saved , but ok is part of the baker story not Ethan

Instead of just saying Romania or Transilvania (the place where the vampire culture was literaly BORN from), they prefer to say just East Europe... EVEN THO the name is so obvious... c'mon... other places in this world, and I mention America as an example, they put town and county, even coodronates... A bit dissapointed because of that.
Mia was miranda so Chris killed her but didn’t explain to Ethan. Chris took both rose and Ethan to a blue umbrella base but were attack by Miranda due to her cloning into mias corpse. Ethan then is brought to the “village” where he meets villagers and people that worship Miranda as some type of god. Ethan than learns that it Louisiana all over again and is set on saving his daughter no matter what. 4 mini bosses along the way before defeating mother Miranda. Ethan than continues to run into Chris and his team as they are reckoning Miranda and the other bosses and Ethan progress throughout the game. Chris than builds Ethan a tractor machine mounted with a rpg, machine gun and chainsaw to fight the final mini boss before Miranda. Ethan gets to Miranda and has his heart ripped out and this is where we learn that Ethan is also made out of mold. Eveline then pops up in a dream to tell Ethan that he was killed in the baker household prior to even arriving at the village and that he is also a walking corpse like mia. Chris then sets into the village that is being pillaged by Miranda to find rose. He stumbles across the real Mia in the flesh and helps her to safety. Chris continues further down where he finds the heart of the mold and throws a bomb onto it. Ethan then kills Miranda after coming back to life due to him being made out of mold but sacrifices himself to save rose,Mia, Chris and his team. Cutscene at the end shows rose about 15-18 years old stopping by her dads grave and she also mentions how her powers can easily wipe out the girds whole team. This is all resident evil 8 village the new game. Not sure If 100% of this is all right bc I had a lot of late nights playing this.
Can anyone here tell me why Ethan received an e-mail for him to have the idea of rescuing Mia? Did Zoe do it so that they would be rescued? or did Eve do it so that Eve could have the family she had always wanted?
