Kostantinos Kalominidis he’s good in every role he’s done but I agree this is his best so far

I wonder how proud the actors were of their six packs.
those packs are fake not real.

@Vlad Xavier i agree
Alcatraz Crysis fatass
They couldn't have chosen a better actor for Leonidas.
bigfriki I personally think David Spade would have suited the role better, just my opinion.
Orlando James A comedy actor? really..
Andrei Ghinea Of course? He has the perfect build for it
Orlando James this is the worst troll i've seen so far..
Andrei Ghinea Yet you reply, thanks for giving it attention :)
Brad Pitt nailed Achilles, Gerard Butlar IS Leonidas!!!!
Achilles, Leonidas, and Maximus (Decimus Meridius)
What do they all have in common apart from the fact that one does not simply mess with them (unless they have a death wish)? They all, respectively, got killed by (or under the command of) some serious wimps/cheats.
Are you kidding? Brad Pitt's Achilles was the worst casting decision ever made. His Achilles was boring as shit. Felt more like a dumb NFL player than a mythological hero.
I said nothing of the actors, much less of the directors that likely told them how to portray their characters. And I didn't even imply it.
I only payed attention to the timelines of who they were able to defeat and whatever else they were able to accomplish before their own demise.
LuisLEONFC73 dawg brad pitt was perfect for the role of Achilles you need tuh stfu bitch
Brandon Thomason No he didn't. You are an idiot for saying otherwise,
The fact that gerard doesnt need to act with a different voice, but just a different accent just makes this movie and his character soo epic
Gerard Butler: "I trained for 4 hours in the gym with two separate trainers. I didn't know what I was thinking."
You can easily tell that Gerard realized he was in over his head.
But when everything with the movie was all said and done, it was TOTALLY worth it.
A humble personality immortalized as a legendary badass.
Yeah - anyone who knows anything about training also knows that he has neglected to mention steroids.
In over his head?

RUclips : Hey you wanna know how they made 300?
Lmao
I thought their abs were computer generated, much respect
yeah it made guys everywere feel out shape hahaha but seriously they were under special training exercise and diets all for the film
not denying that there in shape, but there abs were sprayed on for the film to make them more defined;as well as their chest….
dork knight Please understand though, "abs" are primarily genetic. The muscle group which we constantly obsess over is extremely limited in it's function. In reality, having "super abs" is extremely superfluous.
The only thing that muscle group does is prefent you from falling over backwards on your spine. Their job and role is obviously important but your Transverse Abdominis, Internal, and External Obliques are arguably more important where strength and conditioning are concerned, but are very easily unnoticeable to non super educated peeps.
yeah and proper lightness makes abs look better
you can google the "300 training method", it's harsh as fuck....
Still one of my favorite characters and performances in a movie. Nobody could have played that role better than Gerard Butler.
Never let my wifey see this. I told her his abs were CGI. lmao
🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
🤣🤣
Don't worry, you can still say its because of performance enhancing drugs (which most actors take to get into shape for a role, cannot say if he/they did though)
Accurate or not, Leonidas is the most badass movie character of all time.
GassyMexican Fan?
Yea, but what does that have to do with Leonidas. I've heard him quote 300 on a couple of vids, but I was unaware that he a big fan or anything.

at least their six packs are real.
@Feuertaufe yes but its still real lol
Mskeups
Ok with improper lighting even the most ripped abs will not show themselves. If the light source is directly facing the abs, it's gonna look flat and only by flexing can you see the outlines. If the light is directly above you or below you, or maybe to the sides then your abs really show. This is no different for bodybuilders or just semi-athletic guys like me. If you need to flex really hard under PROPER lighting for your abs to even show then you have too much fat blocking it. But seriously lighting needs to be taken into consideration, ever seen those "Before and After" workout transformations. Yea I guarantee they had bad lighting in the BEFORE and great lighting in the AFTER.
gerade butler trained 4 months every day for his body, and some of them are done with make up to look more shaped etc... but the most of them are real muscles
An example of toxic masculinity
Just realised how good of an actor Gerard Butlar is after watching how differently he caries himself in real life. superb acting, direction and editing!
I love the 300 movie. It was awesome and Gerard Butler was made for that role! He was perfect for it.
Yeah man, just like Hugh Jackman was made for the role of Wolverine, perfect fit too.
Fake story
"It's not a documentary. It's just a kick ass movie". If only people who whine about how inaccurate this movie is would just know it's a comic book story.
+Darvin Gramajo comic book story? the fuck?
+NoneNameAvailable yes its from a comic book by Frank Miller.
+Darvin Gramajo Its obviously not a comic book story. It's an actual battle that happened. Probably one of the most influential in history. so if you're going to make a movie about it, do it right. Don't get em wrong i liked the movie far better than the second one which was complete garbage.
+Sam Fisher Jesus, this movie was a comic book adaptation by Frank Miller. It only drew inspiration from the historical battle. there have been REAL ADAPTATIONS of that battle made into movies but THIS was from a comic book.
+Sam Fisher agree 👍
all i see in this video is six pack
its because there spartans
It's funny because I watched the movie with my own six pack

Got back from work late one night with dvd copy of this film. Woke my younger brother up who was asleep in his top bunk and we sat and watched this till the early hours of the morning. Just awesome!
I can't remember his name, Gerard Butler, I always call him Leonidas, lol, he played that role so fckin good!
One of the most visually amazing movies I have ever seen.
Gerad Buttler is perfect as Leonidas. I cant imagine an other actor as Leonidas.
Hugh Jackman maybe....
Idris Elba/Jamie Foxx/Eddy Murphy,ha ha just joking but you know what I mean.
Spartans. Abs, Muscles and a whole lot of Manliness.
In reality, these guys are barbie dolls. True Spartans weren't about taking steroids, putting make-up on their abs and doing push-ups to get a pump before battle.
@@joblakelisbon ancient/medieval fighters were actually really skinny snd had weak bones since they had such crappy nutrition. But man they were strong. Different type of strong though. You could get a Roman soldier to March 50 miles in a 100 pounds of gear to prep for an attack at dusk. Today’s soldiers can’t do that. But that Roman soldier would get SMOKED in our tactical training we have today. Im sure the Spartans were pretty ripped but obviously not like these guys. Also most of these physiques are totally attainable natural. You’d be surprised how much muscle you have if you do a hard cut.
he would be the best Joel in a Last of us movie
whoa!!!! I made a comment like this maybe last year or early this year...and I wrote "the question is, could he pull a texan/ southern accent?"...but damn he is perfect for that role!!!
just watch hugh jackman in logan he look same as joel
Agreed! I always thought Gerard Butler would be perfect as Joel.
you are a genius !
i disagree, Hugh Jackman is the perfect cast for Joel. Just watch prisioners and logan. They're like twins.
damn them bodies are real lol
lol
With a hint of makeup to emphasize shadows and exercises to keep the muscles pumped in between scenes
SpeedStrengthJames spray tan and pump...no different than a bodybuilding competition buddy
Yes, but on a film set lol
Not to the extent, plus you can see all these guys have a good physique as it is, maybe not a 5% bodyfat physique, but definitely good muscle mass with around 8-10%. Very amazing physiques.
I trained once with one of his two trainers, he came to England where I was living at the time and had a workshop. At the end of the workshop, he wanted to demonstrate that "I don't have time for gym" is bullshit, so he proceeded with giving me the most hellish 20 minutes I have ever experienced in a gym and my legs were so destroyed I could barely drive back to London. Can't imagine how it was for Gerard training four hours with those guys per day. No wonder he didn't only look strong, he WAS strong and you can feel it in the film!
How every actor in that movie had a ripped physique was just amazing, they all had identical abs and i assumed it was CGI but they were actually real, it proves hard work and good nutrition is very important.
All roles played by him have been the best , he has a unique way of adding emotions and conviction with a touch of finesse. I don't believe he will except any role he thinks he can't truly put his 110%. HES THE MAN.
This just shows how godly thier skills are in editing, and effects.
I saw this movie very young. Still not disappointed.
Yeah I will just lay off this chocolate bar right here. :(

Still a great movie. I love the mixture of realism and myth and the comic art style.
0:42 a wild michael fassbender appears
"I had no idea what I was thinking..." lol Gerard, you crazy man
This film inspired me to look into this battle in more depth, So i went to the actual Battlefield at Thermopylae, Mainland Greece to check it out and i'm glad i did too.. Here's the video of my trip : ruclips.net/video/SwQ77LrayIM/видео.html
He is a great actor and producer in that movie. He work very hard training in this movie. That is why the movie came out fanastic.
This where I first saw Michael Fassbender
, when he was starting to be more known (at least to me), I knew I saw him somewhere before and this was it
The role of King Leonidas in Zack Snyder's 300 was most suited for Gerard Butler. And I also believe that he would have been the best casting choice as Kraven the Hunter in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (supposingly) film saga.
Not a soul on earth could have played that role better than him ⚔️
It is beyond a shadow of a doubt that in this movie, Gerard Butler was widely praised for his performance as King Leonidas, which in turn made a big star.
I'm not a fan of Snyder as a director overall, but man, 300 has to be one of the most kickass movies of all-time.
Why am I seeing this in 2020- but it’s making me want to go back and watched it
I just did. No regrets!
I love this movie with a passion and all the Charaters and there roles this movie from 2006 to 2019 is still the best
00:08 what's is this? THIS IS SPARTAAAA!!!!
I remembered an interview where Gerry told that all of them spartans trained together...
And the ultimate motivation they had was they did not want to be remembered as the spartan who had muffintops
😂
A Greek Spartan King with a Scottish accent :) Imagine if he had kept his scottish accent in the entire movie. "Freeedooomm..." ....sorry... "This is Sparta" ^^
Wat an actor! Much respect from India
I was just 11 years old when the film released. Till now I am crazy about this film and the characters.
Wow! I think the Spartans would be proud of the film and Gerard Butler.

The character and legend of Leonidas is a model of heroism and the highest sacrifice!

Action movie actors work very hard but there's always that one movie they're famous for that they just work their butts off for. Working out, the martial arts and choreography, just over all want to absolute perfect what the image of their character is going to be and I respect them for that.
You forgot one important part, steroids
Couldn't have picked a better Leonidas than Mr. Butler.
With the guys. In holidays. At the Argentinian coast. At the buss and going to the disco, everybody where going to the disco. Someone screamed "Spartans, what is your professión?". The whole buss answers what we all knows and hits the buss to make the shield noise xD.

ijcn0jir3nvjn3fjcifn you obviously never been to Greece.. Yes they may party a lot.. But believe me Greece is blessed.. The best country in the world geographically, and the people there are soooooo amazing!! Plus Greek men and women are the most handsome and beautiful.. Let's not forget the goddess of beauty is Greek.. And also NEVER forget that it doesn't matter how many centuries pass.. The DNA will never forget.. Greeks stay there quietly but if it will be needed and the time comes the world will see something, it never saw before .. You can't change the blood that runs into their veins and the history that runs into their minds.. They are great people.. I'm not even Greek I've lived there for a long time.. I've traveled all around the world and what I experienced in Greece I never felt it anywhere else..

He Play this Roll Perfect!
The new actor on 300 Rise of the empire sucks arse! He doesn't have that manly leader feel like Gerald does, he didnt sell the movie as good as Gerald.
I'm afraid I disagree with you, he did a great job portraying Themistocles! And sorry for being picky but its GERARD BUTLER not GERALD. Good day.
kawasakininja13 The critic reviews says otherwise www.digitaltrends.com/movies/300-rise-empire-review/ oh and blame my iPads predictive txt for Gerard
DJ MATRIX I actually enjoyed reading that article, very insightful review into the film. I do agree that it had nothing on the first film because lets face it, that was simply bad-ass and is one of the greatest films of all time. My understanding of ancient history is sound if anything so I had no problem understanding the plot chronology, character twists or anachronisms that this critic encountered, as I'm sure many people would have too. Eva Green's beauty always leaves me speechless so perhaps I am a tad biased...
***** Agreed! And one more thing, has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?
I believe it was not the actor, but the character in grief and decadence, but at the end meets the tryumph which in turn makes him even more heroic. Leonidas was the badass leader hero. Themistokles was the decadent loser who had carried a great burden and becomes the hero at the end. So, you have to pay attention to what measure you compare them both by.
BEST PERFORMANCE he ever had! He has had a lot of great performances but 300 is his best to me😊👍
Gerard was BORN for Leonidas! He is Leonidas him self!
