    To all the haters... Dudes, i'm sorry to disappoint you but this is fiction, not reality. This movie is based on a Comic, and if anything loosely based on real history. This is why he looks like that...Rodrigo Santoro's performance is based on the Xerxes from the comics. He said he did a lot of research in history to supplement his work in acting, he never said his character is a truly representation of the real Xerxes. And he did a very decent performance in this film. It baffles me that people doesn't understand that to this day

He would begin to make lots of unreasonable economic decisions only to in the end lead an unsuccessful campaign. Each time acting more and more upon impulse. Unlike his father darius whom everyone respected and loved, he became more of a tyrant than a king.

      He didn't have that golden stripper costume, he didn't have a palenquin of that outrageous size and he also had long hair and a beard, but the greek invasion obsession part was pretty accurate. He had a servant who's only job was to whisper in his ear "Don't forget about the greeks" while he dined.

Nothing before the modern times was a paradise, it was a continual hell for the normal people, only the rulers ever enjoyed the luxuries no matter what era. Now everyone has luxuries, food, a home, warmth. Things that used to be unobtainable for normal peoples.

      @@alexman378 Silly person, lol. If Leonidas fell and die you are certain that the battle wouldn't have gone down? There's no way to know in any way, shape, or form if there were any secondary commanders or anyone else on which the troops could have depended on to continue to go to battle. It was a necessary battle to give the south precious time, I highly doubt they would have simply gone back. And it wasn't just Spartans or 300 that fought, btw. Now Barbarossa dying on his way to the crusade, that DID end it for the Germans as everything depended on him alone, mind you the kings of that time was completely different from the lords of Greece.

    • @alexman378
      @alexman378 Год назад

      @@DutchGuyMike The fight wouldn’t have gone down because what he was doing was against the law, he wasn’t supposed to go to war, and the men he brought weren’t commanders, they were his personal guard. He couldn’t bring in the actual army. Yes, it wasn’t just the 300, other Greeks joined in, but all of them followed the Spartans and specifically Leonidas. Had he died, they wouldn’t continue, they’d head home and prepare for what’s coming. It would’ve been a huge blow, for sure.

    he was talking about the fictionalized version of the character. Its just a movie designed to entertain us. Its based on a comic by frank miller not actual history. I'm Iranian myself and I found this to be highly entertaining.

      Just about the entire movie was filmed in a Warehouse in Montreal,Canada.
      The only scene that was really filmed outside was when The Persian Messenger and the other Persians are riding on horses to Sparta(and according to the director,Zack Snyder,that was only because they couldn't film galloping horses inside a warehouse).

    They film the movie in a blue screen room and its magnificent. Meanwhile, i take 10 minutes of phone video and about 10 seconds of it's any good😂
