What's your theory for the confusing "Gnome" plotline of the past..?
I feel like feathers McGraw is going to hack this “gnome” as a way of revenge against w&g throwing him in jail (and I haven’t watched the original wrong trousers short, but I swear he was thrown in a zoo, maybe he broke out and then decides to join the chickens in chicken run 2 and then he got thrown in jail???)
It was a Red hearing the director confirmed they were trying everything to keep it secret
There's alot of details about the gnome on the W&G website with a small interview mentioning Wallace inventing the gnomes to help out, one going evil and McGraw is basically responsible. I think its initially going to be oh it became sentient with ai undertones before the reveal that it was McGraw. Peter Kay is returning as the police officer as also mentioned on the website alongside Lenny Henry that was part of the live action W&G short (what a trip that was).
There's some fun screenshots of the new vehicle too.
Wallace and gromits new business is gnome security, so they install these security gnomes for people, and I assume feathers will hack them and maybe the customers of Wallace and gromit will blame them
I suspect the penguin to be a red hering. He will set something in motion that leads to the creation of the AI villain, and then either becomes an secondary villain or gets taken out of the picture.
Honestly bet this is the first time people who didn’t read the newspaper headline in the Wrong Trousers, listened to the tape cassette or played Project Zoo are now saying "Wait... The Penguin had a name?!?!"
That was me when I played Project Zoo, was wondering where they got that name when rewatching Wrong Trousers afterwards until I found out it was on the newspaper at the end of the film
Wow, maybe. I’m English so I always knew who Feathers McGraw was but then I played a Wallace and Gromit cartoon creator or something in the 90s and FMG has been popular to market (I always preferred a Close Shave)

Minor correction: Shaun the Sheep appeared in the Cracking Contraptions shorts after first appearing in A Close Shave. So they HAVE technically brought back a character once before, but obviously not a major villain like Feathers
They brought back the villain of a comic story Rhett Leicester as the villain of a second comic story.

Whilst she never actually appears in another Wallace and Gromit movie, Lady Tottington (Wallace's crush from "Wallace and Gromit ,The Curse of The Ware Rabbit) actually appears in a decent amount of Wallace and Gromit adverts, although its usually the DFS ones. Lady Tottington is also the one who invites Willice inside for a homemade marmite sandwich in Matt Groening's "The Simpsons" couch gag reference in season twenty twos episode 14, Angry Dad: The Movie
Also, on a completely unrelated side note, I really want to see Fluffles in this movie too as (SPOILERS) in Wallace and Gromit a Matter of Loaf and Death, Fluffles is standing in their driveway, understandably upset about just witnessing her masters death, and so Gromit invites her inside of the bread delivery van. She then puts some music in to the record player and they drive off into the distance, so this to me says that they have taken fluffles under their wing, and therefore adopted her, and this is why i would love to see her in this movie. I would also love to see her in this movie because she was my absolute favourite character from that movie

The Were rabbit movie was going to have a reference to Close Shave in a deleted scene which Wallace mentioned that him and Gromit were window cleaners referencing their previous job when singing a song which would of been the only reference to another film prior to this
Apparently, Wendolene was originally going to come back and Wallace would have been her gardener.
@@dannypalin9583 ...Funny thing is, Wendolene actually reappeared in a Wallace and Gromit Comic where she turned out to be an Heir to the Ransbottom family... And yes, Pedestron also returned in that comic.

I know it sounds unreasonable because this is Wallace and Gromit we’re talking about but A Matter if Loaf and Death was kind of weak and Chicken Run 2 could’ve used some improvements
@@circuits17nightmare28I prefer Matter of Loaf and Death over the feature length Curse of the Wererabbit, that one doesn’t have the same charm for me, I feel W&G works best as a short format so hopefully this is a return to form.
And yeah Chicken Run 2 definitely suffered from a case of trying too hard.
@@circuits17nightmare28completely agree, W&G for me is the original trilogy, especially TWT and ACS. I feel like since Were Rabbit, the pacing is much quicker and Loaf and Death was the same, it's lost it's dark edge and feels more gimmicky. The smaller budget worked in it's favour back in the day, i think; empty streets, only a few characters, it had that quiet charm to it. But I'm hoping that it's at least partly a return to form with the new one. It's a feature TV film (no Dreamworks) going straight to the BBC, the budget will be smaller and I'm hoping with such a long runtime, it'll mean the pacing will be slower and give room for slow moving suspense. But i realise that we live in a different time now, and i think the format for W&G has changed.

I don't know if this is entirely true... but I have heard that apparently, the seagulls in Finding Nemo (mine mine) had their appearance based off of Feathers from Wallace and Gromit. Like I said, I don't know if it's entirely true... just something I heard, but one look at the nemo seagulls and it definitely seems plausible
The influence is also definitely there in Pixar's Turning Red and Luca. In both films, a lot of the art direction and characters do give off a strong Wallace and Gromit vibe.
As marketing, Aardman should put out wanted posters for Feathers on the streets
We've had sequels to Wallace and Gromit stories before:
The Wrong Trousers and the return of Feathers McGraw had sequels in the form of the video game Project Zoo and the comic book story "Wanted: Wallace and Gromit" from the Wallace & Gromit Comic issues 6 and 7, which also had PC Mackintosh from Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
A Matter of Loaf and Death had a sequel in the form of the mobile game: The Big Fix Up (partial spoiler alert)
A Close Shave has had a few sequels in comic books too, and the Cooker from A Grand Day Out has been seen still surviving on that last coin.

It should be noted that Shaun reappeared in Cracking Contraptions, and several characters like Wendolene reappeared in the graphic novels. Feathers already returned in the Project Zoo video game in fact. This is the first film proper to not be self contained however. Quite curious in fact, looks like they're doing some proper world building here, with a recurrent villain and supporting cast. I also kinda want to see how Feathers and PC Mac will interact.
Have people forgotten the game 'Project Zoo' cause Feathers was in it, Or are we just gonna pretend that it's not canon?

As a Brit I’m so excited! Aardman have never made bad film, their worst ones aren’t horrible they’re only just a bit of a let down. I hope this film will be one of the great ones!
Aardman is genuinely one of my favorite animation studios, and even though I didn’t grow up with Wallace & Gromit, I am so excited for this film. I am always seated for their adorable stop-motion and great storytelling. I’m sad that each film takes years to come out, but I think its scarcity (compared to other animation studios at least) contributes to its charm and excitement.
First returning secondary character to return: PC Mackintosh from the Curse of the Wererabbit, apprantley now a Chief Inspector, as voice by Peter Kay, is also returning.

As far as potential returning Wallace & Gromit characters go, Feather McGraw is a great choice. He's a fan favorite, and there's great potential in having a revenge plotline.
As far as the gnomes go, I think it's referring to the security gnomes Wallace installed prior to Curse of the Were-Rabbit. So in a sense, this feature could reference past W&G features.
I am genuinely so hyped for this!!! Hopefully it’s as good as Curse of the Were Rabbit since animation hasn’t been doing to great this year.

I love its set for Christmas release.
I used to get myself a Radio Times to look out for anything that was a bit different to the usual Christmas guff, after falling in love with a Grand Day Out, Wallace and Gromit quickly became a Christmas tradition, and my favourite still has to be The Wrong Trousers.
Such a fun little adventure about the evil criminal mastermind that never says anything, cannot wait to see what crazy plan McGraw has in store this time.
Well if Ginger and Rocky can come back, then I think this duo should have their new movie too.

I just want evidence that Fluffles still lives with W&G
Well there is behind the scenes photography of Nick Park and another animator working on the film, and we just see Wallace and Gromit loading up a van with their new Gnome branding on it. I couldn't see Fluffles in either photo, though.
But, and this is very important to take into consideration, maybe Nick doesn't want anybody to see Fluffles like they did with Feathers in the trailer. If she shows up with Gromit in the film, it will come as a nice surprise, so Nick probably thought to take a photograph of a scene which Fluffles isn't in to perhaps hide the fact that she might be there.
Who knows? Maybe I'm just assuming. But the chance of seeing Fluffles again might be as thin as a chance of seeing The Moon Machine, Wendoline or Tottington again.

I heard from a leak that Preston and Cooker will also be returning. I think Feathers reprograms Preston for an evil revenge heist where he frames Wallace. Gromit has to save the day

I'm actually a Year 1 Zoomer who loved Wallace & Gromit as a kid.
To say that I'm excited for Vengeance Most Fowl would be an understatement.
Hi guys don’t forget the game, project zoo, feathers was the big bad in that game and I love both the wrong trousers my favourite wallace and gromit film and project zoo. Where you can actually fight feathers in the final boss fight.
Maybe feathers is going to team up with the evil robot gnome for his revenge.
I think I can possibly piece together Feathers involvement in the film. Just like in The Wrong Trousers, he is going to take over one of Wallace's inventions (this time, the gnomes), but instead of doing it for his own gain, he'll use it for vengeance (as the title suggests)
Maybe he will try to hijack the Robot Gnome to knock off Wallace and Gromit and commit another crime, and in doing so will accidentally make it sentient and turning the gnome into another villain.
I'm very excited to see the return of Feathers McGraw in the new Wallace & Gromit film. But I feel like with the "Gnome" plotline it could mean to where Feathers McGraw could further develop the AI in the Gnomes that could also be another villain in the movie not just Feathers McGraw the duo has to deal with as well unlike the first time they defeated him. We have seen his technical skills such as taking out the controls from the Techno Trousers as we have yet to see what other technical skills he has that we could see in this new film.
First time for anything and there are no rules about character returns in Wallace and Gromit. Feathers is still remembered by the crew for many years so they decide to bring him back.
Personally I would love to see the Ard man movies connect a little more. Like I wish there was a reference to Wallace and Gromit in the Shaun the sheep movies/show.

IDK about ya'll but at this point, I'm afraid of anything getting a sequel/revival/reboot because sometimes it's either a hit or a miss. So I'm not gonna give my hopes up too high for the new Wallace and Gromit movie.
Tbh this new film isn't ANY of those things. It's simply a new film. Like Inside Out 2, Ice age 2 etc. Ik it isn't the second film, but it's just another addition :)) So my hopes are SUPER high!! It's Wallace and Gromit!! It can't miss 😂❤

There has been a sequel, albeit a game, Project Zoo is literally the sequel to The Wrong Trousers, and they even say so in the behind the scenes

I’m looking forward to this film. I hope it also comes out in dvd cause if it does I’m buying it as feathers is my favourite wallace and gromit villain alongside Preston and well either victor or monty mussel from the pc game
They're not rules per se... They're more like guidelines. And they've always been flexible. I'm really looking forward to this.

If you've seen the DFS ad 'The Great Sofa Caper' I wouldn't be surprised if as least some characters from the Were-Rabbit film made a return.
While I am super pumped for a new Wallace & Gromit, I do hope that Aardman continue to make original films & shows.
I think it's a bit of a shame they're tied to Netflix as I find their content can get lost a little bit among the hundreds of other things.
Take Chicken Run 2 for instance, it was dumped straight to streaming with no cinema screenings. I was lucky that I managed to, as I attended the films premiere.
At least with this it does say coming to BBC and Netflix, meaning it'll be a little more accessible to Brits who aren't Netflix subscribers.

You know what's funny? Aardman is treating Feathers coming back for revenge like a big deal, but hardcore Wallace and Gromit fans know that Feathers has come back several times in comics and Project Zoo. He's on par with Ripto in the Spyro games. Once you know this, it's the epitome of diminishing returns.

i acctually saw the wrong trousers very recently in school so this being in my recommened is a huge coincidence

@hitfasthithard yeah. And the worse part is that it has that horrible "CalArts" look to it, and I don't say that lightly because I don't like broad generalizations. But visually, it looks like the exact opposite of what Art Clokey did with his characters. Just so flat and unmagical.
PC Mackintosh is confirmed to be returning by the way, complete with Peter Kay reprising him. We're getting two characters from separate films reappearing, could be a curious blend, especially since one's a criminal and one's a police officer.
Aardman have also dropped hints of something planned for A Close Shave's anniversary next year. Wonder if we might see Shaun reunite with the original duo in some way.

The fact this isn't going to theaters is criminal. Curse of the Wererabbit won best animated feature. 🤦🏽♀️They are doing stop motion dirty like Wendall and Wild. iPad,smartphone and laptops and TV don't do these movies justice. The fact Coraline rerelease sells out every yr in theatres speak volumes. 🐣🦔🐧

I mean at least in my case, the timing for this has been incredible to say the least. Cause in my country we have a TV block every friday for 1 hour of cartoons both old and new. The current edition, FredagsTamTam as launched in 2023 after Disney became too outrageous, ending our Disney Club equivalent. But since Friday the 24th of May, we've had Wallace and Gromit films appearing on the block. First A Grand day out, then the wrong trousers, and yesterday it was A close shave. And next friday it seems to be A matter of loaf and death! Its also pretty incredible tbh since this is the first time that indemendent short films (over the 7-8 minutes of an old WB or MGM short) have appeared on the block!

As an American, I watched the Curse of the Were-Rabbit and enjoyed it. I honestly would love to watch the other movies in that series and it looks like I got another to add to the list

Between Wallace and Gromit, Monty Python, and Doctor Who, I grew up with British television to the point that I think my humor has officially been made British. So, I'm excited to see more hijinks from my favorite wacky inventor from across the pond! I actually have a hard time understanding American humor or enjoying it all that much because of it, to be honest.
"Vengeance most fowl" sounds like a better tagline for chicken run 2 than "Dawn of the nugget" smh😔
