    Hi Jason! There’s another thing to consider here. Lux isn’t everything because HIDs project way further than LEDs. I don’t know the science behind this. My C6 headlights had PPF put on them by the first owner so they are perfect. The seals are tiny bit weathered but I’m not bothered. My drivers side adjustment rod thing moves around in the fender, but it still works to adjust the headlight.

      Well they installed as they should. Not 100% perfect fit but my oem housing didn’t either. But damn close. Lights are super bright. My switchbacks worked fine in parking lights. Unfortunately the high beam is h7 so my new led bulbs don’t work but will get a new h7 set. I bypassed the drl wire as I don’t like wires in my engine bay if I can avoid it. I just direct wired them into a harness. They function with my parking lights. Overall I’m super happy and love them. Tricky to get high beams where you want them have to turn the bulb to find the proper location for beams.

    Nice assembly, I prefer the C6 style over the C7 but I like my inner's body color. Black sticks out like a sore thumb to me on any color except a black car. My C6 is white so the black inner's would look like two black eyes. Just my opinion. I did put switchbacks in my turn signals and that made a big difference.

  • @d-one-and-only
    @d-one-and-only Год назад +2

    Nice video. but if COPLUS does not allow consumers to fit int stock HID if they want to and they are also sealing the LED means that there is no way of upgrading / maintaining these units in the long term ... so its a no for me. I would definitely consider them if they had an alternative / similar assembly that would allow you to retrofit the stock lighting into it (HID).

      @@InJasonsGarage I just got the headlights for my c6 and they are nice, the only thing I encounter was the mounting bolts had to be swapped from the OEM unit because didn't come with the washers, the pigtail is too short and the alignment setscrew is very difficult to adjust because it does not come with the same mechanism like the OEM ones.

  • @ScottO84
    @ScottO84 Год назад +1

    After owning 2 pairs of the Morimoto XB C7-style headlights, I can say that the rubberized seal and everything behind it on the rear of the unit looks identical in build style and materials to those. Everything about it is seemingly Morimoto quality, which I felt rivaled OEM on my sets.
    In terms of styling, I felt the only thing that aged these cars was the headlights, taillights, and old incandescent bulbs. After buying my C6, one of the first things I did was upgrade every possible bulb to LEDs, change the side markers, and swap the headlights and taillights for Morimotos. That being said, I do feel that the C6 style looks good, especially with darker housings (which I know isn't for everyone). The fact that these give an option for people to retain the styling is excellent, but I find myself surprised they didn't make the switch to full LED. Overall, with these cars all being 10+ years old now, so many of the stock headlight units are starting to fail or just become dangerous from a lighting aspect. It's nice to know there's an option out there for those that love this style.

      Agreed. Not good at all. That design doesn't make sense vs. the original. At $800, it's not a good upgrade for the money. Installing F9 or H60 LED would be a much better and cheaper option. If possible to install NHK 4+ projector into a low beam, that would've been my choice if I owned c6 corvette. The other beautiful led style @4:05 is worth it.

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  Год назад +2

      Don't sweat it, buddy...that is a GREAT question! There's a couple of reasons why...
      1) People want the upgraded DRL bar to make the headlights a bit more modern.
      2) More importantly is that there doesn't seem to be a good LED replacement for HID. Check out this video from my friends at Headlight Revolution: blog.headlightrevolution.com/d1s-and-d2s-led-headlight-bulb-replacements-brighter-than-hid
      I think this is why you don't see the big LED headlight replacement manufacturers offering them.
      However...since I have a rule of "different environments will give you different results" (especially in reference to my other channel, @carlightreviews), I kinda wanna buy some LED versions of the D1S to replace the C6 Corvette HID and see how they actually work out. Interested in seeing that?
