  • These are the first LFS' as the 2011 models delivered originally in 2011. Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Queens ran these buses with without a risk of a damage.
In July 2011, these LFS' from Ulmer Park Depot makes me catch one easily on the B6 in Canarsie. I will never forget the intial day riding this bus. 2012 was a horrible year for #8017, when it caught on fire coming from Staten Island on the S53. Then 6 years later, it was shown to be repairable and met it's new depot of Queens Village. That year, they started receiving screens and the front stripes for their faces. Those features finally bring back my taste with these buses than last year. And still today, they are only available in Queens.

8015-8089 have the same transmission as the buses near me in New Jersey of the 2011-13 out of Orange Garage (2009-13 in the State of New Jersey) NABI 40-SFW. 8000-8014 have the same transmission of the NABI 31-LFWs out of Morris & Egg Harbor Township Garages.

Currently these and the 2015-2016 lfs have went from luminator titan to spectrum for some reason, but I do like the spectrum led tbh

I don’t like when these buses don’t have stripes, and when the doors are malfunctioning. I like the 2015-16 LFSs better. I still think these are good though.

Honestly I like these buses without the Blue Stripe on the front makes them look unique also because some of these buses have one front door smaller then the other, it means that some of these buses can be used on LIRR shuttles which has happened before with one (I forgot the number) operating a Bayblon Branch shuttle.
    Edit: Montauk Branch.

Has anyone caught these on the Q27 in Downtown Flushing or the Q88 at the Queens Center Mall?

I think I took one of those buses in Staten Island but my first time ridding those buses was on the M42 because the M42 came out of Michael J Quill. I took that bus from 42nd Street/9th Avenue to 42nd Street/5th Avenue to go to Best Buy. Hopefully I get to ride them again.

Those came into Quill in late 2018 got sent back months after. What you rode in Staten Island are the 2015/16 models.

Good Review Cedric, Beside The 2011 XD40’s In Staten Island That I Rode, I Also Remember Riding The 2011 Novabus LFS’s On The S46 & The S48 I Was Riding Those On My Way To Middle School Or Home, Until The 2011 LFS’s & XD40’s Were Gone From Staten Island & I Never Rode These Again, Hopefully I Will Ride These LFS’s Again Soon

An Allison transmission does not go well with an LFS’ design.

@@AutomotiveTaurus I don’t believe 2011 low floor series is a bad bus. Even though it has a window at the backside of the bus just like the articulating bus from Tuskegee airmen depot, it’s still the way it is for Queens bus depots like Jamaica and Queens Village.

@@AutomotiveTaurus 8017 got an accident you’re not going to point fingers at Castleton depot even though that’s where 8017 was being delivered. But then again Castleton has speeding habits for accidents and again it doesn’t matter what depot have accidents no matter which one it was. Unless it’s LaGuardia Depot that has a rap sheet of poor maintenance. Back to the first 2011 LFS it’s still in good condition.
