Castleton was the first and ONLY depot on Staten Island until 1981, when Yukon opened. The depot was known as The Staten Island Depot, with it being the only depot during that time that covered the entire island.

The original Castleton Depot was the Sanitation Garage down on corner of Castleton & Jersey St.

Actually In 1977 The EdgeWater Depot Opened In Staten Island But Replaced By The Yukon Depot In 1981 And Closed In 1985 Also It Is Closed Due To 2 Washington D.C Buses Falling Into
the End Of The Pier Literally!

Also Today as we speak Castleton Only has 3rd Gens and the 2016 Nova buses Lfses as local buses while express fleet is the 2008 Mci motor coach D4500CTs and the Prevost also the Older Mci motor coach

The only Buses Si uses now are Cuomo 2019 Nova Lfs buses and 2016 Nova Lfs we also use Orion VII Diesel And lastly for The S79 SBS we use Orion Hybrid New Gen
