Bought one of these adapters a few months ago and its been absolutely rock solid.
My DualShock 3 broke not too long ago and rather than fork out the money for a "new" one, thought I'd just get this so I could use one of my Xbox One controllers on it instead.
Works without any fuss.

If so, do you know if I connected my PS4 controller to my PS3 that my home button will work?cause the PS4 home button doesn't work normally on PS3

I've tested a PS4 controller with the same adapter and the Home button works just fine on it.

I love this device, because it also works for my Hori Project Diva Future Tone Arcade controller and now I am able to use it on the Nintendo Switch as well with Project Diva Mega Mix. Took me some time to get it to work, but overlooked the small text in the manual many times telling me to activate wired mode in the settings.

@@qwertyuioppoiuytrewq1199 this is supposed to work with ps3, ps4, and switch. i'm about to get one mainly for my ps3 too. i can use a ps4 controller with bluetooth with some of my games, but others like the metal gear solid hd collection won't work, and from everything i've seen/heard, i'm fairly certain it'll work perfectly with this adapter.

The 1.06 firmware also allows the Mayflash to be used in the Acade Stick Pro controller port to be used with wireless controllers such as Dual Shock 4.

These adapters also work on the Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro in console mode. That way you can use something besides the Neo Geo Mini controllers in 2 player games.
Did you plug it into the USB-A port on the NGASP, or did you use a USB-C adapter to plug it into the normal P2 port? Also, were you able to use more than 4 buttons?
@@mysterychimp007 You can use either the USB-A port on the back or the USB-C port on the front with a USB-A to C converter. Only the 4 face buttons work. The Neo Geo only had 4 buttons.
SonicFanChris 4 the hylo hack lets you put on games that have more than 4 buttons. Anyway, I bought this and tried it with the retrobit 6 button genesis controller and it doesn’t do anything at all. What controllers did you try it with? I tried updating the firmware but the updater does not recognize the device even if I hold the button down. Any ideas?

Make sure you enable pro controller wired communication in the settings for the Nintendo switch.

If you somehow manage to screw up your adapter and you think you didn't "smoke it" plug it into the Xbox 360 it'll re-sync it for some reason. was gonna re install the software from the official website but I no longer need to.

what’s the difference between the pro n the magic ns?
Pro can be inserted into a PS4 or Switch console, NS doesn't support PS4 consoles, and S doesn't support Nintendo Switch consoles. Apart from those exceptions they support the same consoles (e.g. PS3, PS Classic, Neo Geo Mini, PC etc.) and the same controllers (both wired and with Bluetooth).
Also the Pro detects what console it is plugged into and swaps automatically, whereas the S and NS need to have their console mode switched via the button on the adapter.
What is the difference between this adapter and Mayflash Magic-NS?
So i learned that with this adapter you can use ps5 controller on ps4 and other things

The S-Pro is now up to firmware 1.10, and the NS is now up to firmware 1.32.
From the firmware descriptions, it seems like they now both have identical feature sets -- they can both do basically everything. Any chance you can test and compare those two to see if that is indeed the case?

@@danoise007 Thanks, worth checking. I guess the firmware updates are talking about accepting PS4/5 controllers, rather than having compatibility with the PS4 console.

@Madlittlepixel Does it work on 5.05FW I have 4.73FW and can't update to 5.05 yet because I don't have the OFW file yet. also I have not updated my magic-s controller adapter. It worked for 3 minutes on my 7.51FW black ps4 then shutoff each time I had to unplug it, but people said updating the controller adapter would fix the issue. So the error could be mine idk. I'm ok with getting a Cronus max or Cronus zen if any of those work on 5.05FW. They're expensive though...

Hmm... for some reason every time i start up my ps4 pro I have to hold the button to switch modes. It doesn't automatically detect my system. And I know it says it works with Xbox elite series 2, just wondering if anyone has tried it yet?

@@SourceOfUs it works, not on the recovery menu. It works in game and in the dashboard. 0 input lag, 0 problems. Motion controls dont work anyway

What’s the reason for the PS4 housing? Just as a matter of interest? Presentation, minimise dust, theft protection......
I bought it originally to keep the PS4 Pro from getting dirty and scratched easily. My other PS4 is scratched up quite a bit from just regular use. This does the job of not allowing anything on or near it so it doesnt get scratched or scuffed, but for sure dust still gets in there due to all the ventilation holes, but that is to be expected. Not really something extremely useful lol.
