By being allowed to be irresponsible in the first place by not having to contribute in any way to your rent payment. Some dump policy has enabled this woman to do nothing but take from society while at the same time society has to pony up rent for her every month. I'll bet that she's receiving Food Stamps as well. This s the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard, I'm sure.

People like this should be taken off ALL government backed assistance, they add nothing to the world but the miss treatment and abuse of others. They shouldn’t be able to apply again for 5 years and hey should be sterilized
When you live in Section 8 housing there are certain rules you must follow or your lease will be terminated instantly, especially if you pay nothing towards the rent. Any police activity in your Section 8 house...you're out. Neighborhood noise and disturbances...you're out. C'mon people if you are getting free housing...do your part.
@Leslie Mergenthal.... You're absolutely right. One of my close friends on Section 8 went ham on her son for even getting a ticket for fare hopping on the transit shows up on her file.
I'm on section 8 and SSI. I am grateful and I do not break the rules and I keep my place spotless and am very respectful to my neighbor's and the landlord's. I don't "look" like I have a disability, but I actually have 3. I really wish I could work, or even volunteer(from time to time I do). I look at keeping my place clean and taking care of me and my dog a job. Not everyone who receives benefits is a P.O.S. God bless you all. I love these video's.
Too many bad people on section 8 give everyone a bad name. It didn't help for a long time that it was nearly impossible to get rid of the bad ones. Now it's changed and not enough good attention is given to the good people like you.
I totally understand what you mean! I tried volunteering on the children's floor of my local public library for 2 hours twice a week running a Pokemon League for the kids. It was super-popular, with 30-50 kids per evening attending, but the library shut it down after about 8 months. Why? Because the library "higher ups" had decided that my disabilities were too much of a "liability" to the library (and no one else among the volunteers knew how to play Pokemon so the league just ended, much to the disappointment of the kids). I couldn't even volunteer for free, let alone work for pay. Having physical handicaps can be VERY limiting!
And to think I pay $1,300 for a 2 bedroom in Chicago. I work 2 jobs. Yet other people living free and can’t even do what they’re suppose to continue to live free. 🙄

Then the system denies help to people without children & college students who just need temporary assistance while they finish school. But they allow people like this to stay on government assistance for their entire life and they continue having kids they can't take care of because someones always gonna bail them out. And miraculously they still find a way to be irresponsible and mess up FREE HOUSING. Blows my mind.
COULDNT HAVE SAID IT BETTER! It’s like they are rewarded for that behavior, yet those who are bettering themselves to a point where they will one day be able to contribute to society somehow end up with the short end of the stick…😒
The government helps people that don't want to get themselves together. I remember when I was on workers comp due to injury and never applied anything. But went and applied for food stamps cause a friend said u can get it, boy was I wrong the lady said the government never told u to go to school. Slap in the face. I never even thought of applying ever again. Always stand strong and do what u have to
They are too dumb to have housing. If I had something for free and to continue getting it free it required me to meet with them once a year, that would be my priority. Now you lose your voucher and have to get back on the waiting list.
You win the award. My great grandmother at 93 yr old couldn't get housing nor benefits While the ladies that are young and able to work, they let them sit at home witching Maury. I recently was fighting Cancer, couldn't work full-time ( been on my job 21yrs) and applied for assistance until I went back to work full-time. I was to be in treatment for 7 months. I only was asking for assistance with food. My employer paid my mortgage. They told me NO..... I'M LIKE I'm not asking for help forever, only until I finish chemotherapy. They literally told me ,I don't qualify for no kind of help. Thank God my job was wonderful and my parents. This video just pissed me off.
I ran section 8 housing for 15 years. ITS A FREAKING NIGHTMARE. 99% of them will BREAK EVERY SINGLE RULE. 1. She's not living there her brother is. 2. Did not recertify 3. Did not show up for inspection. 4. Admitted to have lots of calls. Probably complaints.
Our family owns several properties and we have never rented to anyone on section 8. We will never rent to anyone on section 8. I was a Leo and we always had problems with people living in places that rented to section 8. When it comes to apartment buildings you have people paying their full rent yet their neighbors pay nothing or next to nothing. There is a lot of theft in these apartments. The tenants who are working can’t order packages to be delivered to their apartment because their unemployed section 8 tenants will steal them. It’s sad but true.

@@kathyw7143 I don’t feel bad. Most section 8 landlords see it as an easy money grab, and don’t really try to keep up the property. And some will only do section 8 cutting out paying tenants from renting. They also increase the rent to gouge more money from the program.
My sister rented her house out through this program (Section 8) bc she was guaranteed rent payments. Worst mistake she ever made. She had a beautiful tri-level 4 bedroom, 3 bath house w a full basement & 2 car garage. The lady that rented her house ended up moving several other adults (and kids) in my sisters house & it was suppose to be rented by her alone (She had 3 children). They absolutely tore her house up. I have a rental property in TX and I won’t rent to section 8. I can’t afford a potential remodel if I get people that don’t follow the rules and move in dozens of others and wreck the place. I know it’s not all section 8 people but I also feel like if you’re on a waiting list as long as people say they are, and still need it when your number pops up, you may not have been trying too hard. I don’t know, it’s tough because I don’t know everyone’s story, I just have to think about my family too. My tenants have worked out to all be military folks every time, for over 10 years and I keep the rent low just to help support them for serving our country…haven’t had a single problem 🙏
We had the same issue here in NY in regards to section 8. Unfortunately, those people make it hard for me to trust another person to rent anything of mine who uses housing. And it hurts me when there are good, clean people out there just trying to survive.
And the crazy thing is section 8 will attempt to contact tenants over And over and over and over and over and over before terminating because of an inspection. People avoid them because they have something to hide usually- rather it’s filth or other people that shouldn’t be there

Some people are raised to believe that they are owed things such as free rent, food stamps, free everything. Others know that it's supposed to be a TEMPORARY help, not a permanent lifestyle.
Some people use their Sect. 8 for the better good like yourself to get ahead and get off, I just recently got it and I have disabled child which I need it at the moment so I can advance in college soon. Not stay on it and take advantage. We’re not all the same.
I've had friends with children living in section 8 housing and they worked their butts off to save so they could get out of section 8 and they did and were finally able to put a down payment for their own houses. Section 8 properties should have a limit on how long you can stay instead of freeloading off the government or state funds that way it forces you to better yourself.
Totally agree, I think 5 years should be the limit but I believe it’s coming but they never stay in them section 8 houses long enough, they go from section 8 to section 8 house, 5 years is enough to get training, and fix their credit.

There a lot of reasons you can be evicted. Failure to pay rent is not the only one of them. By the time an eviction is signed and served, it has gone through several hearings and the petitioner has proved the owner can repossess their property, AND, the respondent had the right to be present at every court date. Something doesn't seem right here. Aside from being 100%, these people seem like they are abled-bodied to work to me.
Bro, I knew a girl back in the late 1990s who lived under Section 8 housing. She told me from Day 1 not to ever so much as bring a can of beer over, much less a mere joint of weed. She told me if I ever came to her ground-level apartment while drinking, she would not permit me in. She added things like not blaring my music from the car radio, not engage in conversation with another tenant, and never come over past 9:00 p.m. I suppose those federal rules and restrictions were 100% enforced.
So frustrating. I work 2 careers, pay taxes and contribute to society and I pay full price for an apartment, but if i chose to have a bunch of kids, be cared for by the government I could have a home, utility assistance and food stamps.
They even get help with buying a car!. They need a rule that if you have a second kid you lose everything or at lest make them pass drug test before all this free stuff because both of them are way younger than me and I work with a bad back, painful knees, pain in the joints of my hands, torn rotator cups in both shoulder, painful sciatica, an immune disease that makes my muscles burn and hurt when I walk and I still do overtime and pay the bills at my age. .
For those like me, who have been burned more than once attempting to help single mothers, remember the Bible states and this is not verbatim, the poor will be with us always.

Maybe they didn’t complete annual section 8 paperwork with the state. I’m guardian of my adult daughter, she developmentally delayed, and there is so much paperwork to keep updated every year here in CT, I’m sure it’s the same everywhere. You don’t send them your bank statement or a paystub when they ask for it then your done and have to start all over with application. My daughter doesn’t have section 8 but if she did I would make sure it was all up to date when they ask cuz section 8 only has so much revenue and locations to live, and section 8 has waiting lines and you will have to wait all over again to get approved and then wait for a unit to open up, it’s nightmare.
No ma'am. The section 8 people made multiple attempts to complete the inspection. They were living in the house free, nothing is more important than that inspection. No common sense and a casual Laissez-faire attitude culminated in section 8 no longer paying the landlord and thus, homeless.

If she was in the hospital for her health that should be a valid excuse with the Proper documentation and date she was in there when she goes to court or whatever is next
Section 8 and projects are temporary housing until you can do better. That is why there is a homeless issue. If state and government would stay on top of the abuse.

So frustrating. I work 2 careers, pay taxes and contribute to society and I pay full price for an apartment, but if i chose to have a bunch of kids, be cared for by the government I could have a home, utility assistance and food stamps.

Exactly!
Not everyone abuses the system.
Not really. I have a bunch of kids and I get denied for everything. They won't even give us the food stamps for the students
They even get help with buying a car!. They need a rule that if you have a second kid you lose everything or at lest make them pass drug test before all this free stuff because both of them are way younger than me and I work with a bad back, painful knees, pain in the joints of my hands, torn rotator cups in both shoulder, painful sciatica, an immune disease that makes my muscles burn and hurt when I walk and I still do overtime and pay the bills at my age. .

That big ol house that you pay nothing for and got evicted! People just can’t get right now a days, what a damn shame!
We had section 8 tenants. They had failed inspections also. What was happening is they were subletting the house out. The tenants were living in the next suburb with her mother.
@@NELSONSANDY2003 Certain people just can’t handle business. And they will always have an excuse/reason too. Why wouldn’t she make sure she was there when it’s your free housing on the line… she left it up to her jobless brother to open the door for the inspector?! Unreal.

What a disgraceful mess! And they pay no rent! In Australia, there is nowhere that you can live where the rent I’d paid in full, there is rental assistance and low income housing, but renters still must contribute or face eviction.
