- This is a tale to two first cousins living next door to one another. Both get behind on rent, and are filed on for eviction with the court. The property manager, Mr. Jimmy, reached out to both to try to assist them in getting assistance with rent. One cousin took action, the other decided the I didn't get no notice defense was the way to go.

The tale of two cousins. One went working on getting it fixed and the other stuck her head in the sand to pretend it wasn’t happening. The sad part is these two live right next-door to each other and share a wall and they are cousins and yet she never talk to him about how he’s getting his place fixed so he can stay there? Wow! Really sad on both ends the mail Cousin should have pushed her to do something in lieu of those children. Who are also family. And when the mom wandered up, she said I don’t know. I never got any paperwork yet. Her cousin said they both had letters taped to their doors. A very biblical proverb here. If a man shall not work, then, shall he not eat. (or have a roof over his head.). I don’t get it her cousin lives right next-door and did the right thing. Why did she not go with him and follow in the same footsteps that he did that was poor babies that sweet little girl‘s voice just hurts my heart. This is why I’m glad you put these videos out for us to see the biblical examples here, it’s not for laughing at them, or for pure entertainment for us, but to see the truths that God has set forth. I'm very curious....Have you ever went to a house where you told them how you have to start taking things out and they actually said to you "Oh yes we did receive the notice n I just couldn't pay." Has anyone ever admitted that they really did get it??

Broke my heart when that baby said "our power keep going off". No child should EVER experience that! I'm a mother of 3. We've struggled to the point of a bare fridge besides condiments . But, my rent and utilities were ALWAYS paid!!!!!! No matter what. I always tell my kids rent comes first before ANYTHING!
I am teaching my daughters the same thing . This is why it's important to teach your children the difference between a Need/Want. They have to know get the things you need 1st that's priority, then things you want .

I think it was rude and proud for her to refuse to allow him to order the children a pizza. It was awful nice of him to even offer, her response was she need some where to go. I understand her frustration and and concern about needing a place to go, but he can't help with that and the children still need to eat. I feel so bad for the children! They are just as happy not really realizing what is going on.

@moongoddess8568 I agree with both comments. The children come first and this officer of the court didn't have to show such kindness and respect for her situation. He even asked her if she had a place to stay for the night? I would have graciously accept the kind offer for the pizza and realized from that act of kindness things will get better and I would concentrate on doing better for my children and myself. Things happen in life to better us, to help us grow. She has to mature more with what, 3 or 4 children? God bless the children.

This happen to my younger sister and I when I was younger ..my mother told us that she was going to get a uhaul at 8am and came back with out a uhaul at midnight .she left me and my sister to bear the humiliation..to make things worse it started raining ..luckily our neighbors knew our mom was trash .so we were able to take our belongings from the street into their homes

Nobody gets evicted without getting "served", and it's also the end of a very LONG road including the landlord missing out on most likely six month's of rent and a lot of legal fees associated with evicting SLUGS like this. Save it, we know the game, but obviously, not as well or intimately as this "mother" does. She should savvy herself with legal matters and employment ones too as well as she has mastered the ins and outs of taxpayer handouts associated with having bastards with some losers who hit it and forget it. Right. The point is whether she received a letter for a court date or not, she should have been communicating with the landlord. She's the one late paying her rent, not him. If he/she offered to assist her with filing for rental assistance, he/she probably would have let her continue to stay there. But you can't expect to do that without communicating with them.

I’m a single mother and I came on hard times a few years ago. Thankfully, my landlord and I had good communication, so he gave me some leeway to get caught up, which I did. Paying your rent is number one priority, especially with kids. No excuses!

Sadly people don't understand the value in a good relationship with your landlord. It's usually formed by being a reliable tenant so if you do hit a little financial snag they are more inclined to help you out. It's a situation that NEVER has to involve the courts.

There were thousands of days, hundreds of weeks and many many months when the only thing that got me out of bed in the morning and into work was the so that I could have enough money to pay for the roof over our heads. Years later, the roof over our head is finally paid for now I get out of bed and off to work so that I can have enough money to enjoy our lives when we finally retire.

So true. If all you can afford to pay is the rent, then do so. You can always get food from a food shelf. It may hurt your pride and you can't get picky but at least you have a warm place to stay and food to eat. Pasta and rice taste very good when you have nothing else.

I've rented apartments for 24 years. I've never missed a rent payment. I've been out of work, never missed a payment. When i have been out of work , i sold off my furniture to pay my rent, never missed a payment. Ive worked three minimum wage jobs at once...never missed a rent payment. I've lived off ramen and water in lieu of buying groceries... never missed a rent payment. You don't mess with rent.
Imagine renting for 24 years without EVER saving for or putting down on a house. You could be halfway toward owning a house by now, instead you're making property owners richer.Sheesh

The sweat equity alone and mortgage payments will boost your credit score. Paying rent enriches only one class. Paying mortgage enriches AT LEAST 2.
@@cadenhnc Well with a vehicle it's easier to pay off, and replace if need be. With a home it could take a majority of someones life to buy, including the expensive costs if anything goes wrong in-between paying it off (i.e. repairs). Then you have to know how to sell a home too. I definitely understand where you're coming from with the pros but for most people the cons can be too costly and damaging to someones life.

My friends family had to get help from the county and their Mother said,just because we're on the county, we don't have to live like pigs. Her outhouse was whitewashed and smelled good. She had it decorated nicely too. I never knew they didn't have running water or an outhouse 😂. It was great.

My rent is always paid. I have no car, one broken recliner, and a bed, five changes of clothes. That's it. My rent is ALWAYS paid first before anything else. Even before I pay other bills or buy food. These people should be ashamed that there money went first to nice furniture and a car. There should be a list of these people to be on so that those people that they rent from can check and see that they are not responsible in paying their rent, and if they live in the tent in a campground or in a homeless shelter so be it, rather than to steal from people that have given them a place to live. Can live in that nice car and sleep on that leather couch, in a homeless shelter!
Ikr, I let my car get repossessed because I paid my rent. I borrowed money for gas so I could go to my son's highschool graduation because I paid my rent. Everyone has hard times but I refuse to be homeless because my priorities are not straight.

This situation frightened me when I was a single mum of 4. I had to fight tooth & nail to keep my home during & after the divorce. I did everything I had to do to pay my bills to make sure my kids where never in this situation.
As a mom and a teacher, I feel so bad for the kiddos. What a sad way to grow up. Incredible!!

Smh, and the sad part is the children are the ones who will suffer the most because of so call adults. Which let me add, these are some very MANNERABLE, RESPECTFUL, & SWEET CHILDREN. My concern and prayers are for them because they deserve better and probably will never get it until they are able to take care of themselves 🙏🏿. I guarantee this; If the tenant worked for a week straight and didn't get paid, it be hell to pay. They'd be foaming at the mouth talking about "Where is my money?" Same with the landlord, he wants his money. Simple

Videos like this just go to show that you *NEVER* know what a child is dealing with at home. These poor children are most likely attending a public school where nobody knows they’re being evicted, that they lived in this nasty condition, it’s so sad. Kids don’t ask for this.
We know….as someone who worked in a public school I can attest most of these kids likely smell, have awful belongings, and generally act hoarder like themselves…..trash in their desks, backpacks, etc. One kid I encountered smelled like old urine. Yes, they are turned into cps, but it can take years for something to happen. Meanwhile, if the kid really wanted the government to swiftly remove them from their parents….they would just claim to be floating into another gender without parental support. We live in a clown world. 🤷♀️

The way the "mom" walks away while Mr. Penn's explaining everything to her was rude AF. She KNOWS that she screwed up. She just walks away leaving her very young children to handle the eviction...WOW😳 Mr. Penn is more worried about her situation than she is for FS😔

Im soo glad my single mother made sure the rent was paid and if we couldn't afford it we moved. My mom has taught me to never wait for something to come through the mail. You should call everyday if you have to for an update on something this important. Sometimes by the time things come through the mail its already late. Every person seems to have the same excuse regarding the notice. Regardless, you knew you needed to move and ignored the fact instead of coming up with a solution.
One thing I’ve learned in life is you get what you’ve earned. Nothing is free. NOTHING! I have to work hard to keep what I have. Life is not easy and I make mistakes sometimes but I don’t judge my neighbor because it can happen to me. Let’s pray for this family. Nobody wins in a situation like this.🙏🏽
