Who in the living hell does that? Are you kidding me? And choking the guy? *Choking?* I'm not a cop but there is absolutely no fucking way *choking* is being taught as a redonable way to subdue any suspect.
Well a 2% pay cut is not insignificant but I agree not severe enough. The ambulance did not have lights on, so the stop is somewhat reasonable. Not letting the ambulance go immediately once he was aware they were transporting a patient to the hospital was insane.
@@ulbuilderthey already explained why they didn't activate their lights and siren😡

Trooper Ego dieing from a heart attack after risking the life of a patient in the back of an ambo for her own heart problems is peak irony.
Its actually coincidental. Situational irony here would be if he got the ambulance driver he'd tried to ticket as his driver and the officer died en route due to delays because of the drivers refusal to go through intersections without yielding. The opposite of what you would expect from an ambulance. But colloquially AKA the way everyone uses irony, yea youre right lol.
Technically though, if the patient in the ambulance passed away due to the delay, THAT is peak irony considering one would expect the fastest/safest route to the hospital to be the ambulance. The officer passing away from the same thing the patient he inconvenienced was going through is coincidental or karmic.

Yeah. Behavior that should have landed the cop in prison only resulted in the " severe discipline" of a five day suspension and a visit to a department psychiatrist.
Oh they are ALL like this, not ONE cop is a good cop.. NOT ONE, they only have good moments.... in the totality, they are extreme bullies and criminals.
@@HashMaster1776 there’s still a ton of issues though
Pulling over an ambulance is truly wild. The second that cop realized they have a patient, and they don’t have lights and sirens on in order to keep the patient calm, he should’ve said “oh okay, sorry for the confusion. I’ll let you get back to your elderly patient”.
White people who need their false sense of authority will stop at no bounds
Why do people think all cops are corrupt? Because not a single trooper tried to deescalate things, and reason with the trooper. No, they circle the wagons around obvious bad behavior. Probably the same ambulance driver only thing is, he had a DOT mandated 30 min break.
Sorry, but thems the rules, officer, I gotta follow the rules, right?
No doubt, right? I wonder, too, what was going thru his head when he was at his critical moment. If nothing else, how would you feel, "officer," if the medics who were supposed to be helping you, took their sweet time when you were lying there helpless and struggling, or didn't put you first as a patient in need, while the medics argued loudly for 10 mins over procedures or whose turn it was to drive?
This entire incident is truly outrageous, and who doesn't see the fact that trooper Martin, himself, died of a heart attack, as a bit of kharmic irony. It does in a way, explain the explosive temper, which can and does happen to people with exceedingly high blood pressure issues.
I could see your point and wondered the same thing when I saw your comment. How could a person, even someone without much of a conscience, not have the thought of their recent interaction they handled so poorly regarding someone else's urgent medical needs, and how likely would it be for the thought of karma to enter a person's mind while facing the same fate? It's kind of a natural response to wonder about, especially when anyone not directly involved can empathize with whoever was wrongly affected in this unnecessary situation and it's being so unjustly handled.
Trooper Martin, is every citizen's worst nightmare, for obvious reasons, which are only made worse by the insulting fact he was minimally disciplined for what mostly anyone would see as something he should have been fired for. The incident was bad enough, let alone the hypocrisy of his lightweight reprimand while being such a petty and totally egotistical A-hole, and having so little control over himself to become such a stickler about principles he made worse, by his exaggeration of them. Cops that are that unstable need more than a paid week off as a consequence. If any other person had behaved that way, they would surely be given the "full penalty of the law". The hypocrisy and his lack of common decency is just totally messed up.
I was a firefighter EMT for nine years. Standard procedures for our department patients come first. We have the lights and sirens on through intersection. Officer should be fired and his department should be sued.

The tone in voice by officer daniels is exactly what escalates situations to unnecessary levels and CREATE the problem.
Sounds like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Sheesh!
It should be beyond illegal to purposefully interrupt an ambulance from getting to the hospital with a patient inside, and the absolute gall for the officer to try and blame the actions of the paramedic driver as the reason they can't just let the ambulance go/follow the ambulance to the hospital and figure out things there as absurd.
This officer is a bully with a badge and a gun.
How did he get the ambulance to stop at all?
@@mena376 since they were not running lights and sirens they have to obey all traffic laws, including yielding to other emergency vehicles. As an EMT for nearly 30 years myself, I would have pulled over as well because a reasonable assumption is I would tell the cop we have a patient on board and they would follow to the hospital and deal with it there. Or, depending on the radio system I would radio dispatch and ask them to tell the cop we have a patient on board. In my area the local police and EMS dispatch sit next to each other so it’s easy enough, but state troopers are dispatched from another place which adds a layer of difficulty

Protect and serve is a typical motto of police departments. We have a situation where a police officer had an opportunity to listen and provide aid or assistance but instead got insulted while a cardiac emergency was going on. I’d really love to hear another cop defend this officers actions while these EMT’s had a patient
Notice that it doesn't say WHO/WHAT they "protect and serve". It ain't us, it's their egos and the rich/powerful.
Just the fact that the other officers didn't pull back the dog when he was strangling somebody should tell you all you need to know... They cover each other no matter what... They would never have to defend this officers actions because that's what the fifth amendment for.
Are you starting to figure out that the system is designed to get you, not help you?
Partner, seriously. Talking down to the family and tell the medics they are not in charge of this emergency. The Paramedic is completely in charge when there are patients involved in a scene.
A person is guilty of obstructing emergency medical services when he or she intentionally and unreasonably obstructs the efforts of any service, technician, personnel, system or unit in the performance of their duties.
The cop was offended! Pissed off. He couldn't care less about the patient!!! Unbelievable!

Trooper Daniel Boyd Martin suffered a fatal heart attack after making two felony arrests.
On the afternoon of March 1st, 2018, he made eleven enforcement contacts and made two felony warrant arrests at 7:00 p.m. He ended his shift at 11:00 p.m. He suffered a heart attack at 11:40 p.m. and was transported to the local hospital by ambulance. Shortly after midnight, he was flown to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He underwent open-heart surgery. He was released from the hospital three days later and began rehab. He was still taking rehab on April 22nd, 2018, when he appeared to suffer another heart attack and was transported to the hospital where life-saving procedures were not successful.

Same.
Officer would have a lot more paperwork if that were my family in the back
Ikr! I would have told them, "Don't stop til we get to the hospital!!"
I might have felt compelled to subdue the officer. Putting a life that's already at risk from getting further help seems tantamount to murder and he must have been aware that his actions put people at risk. The counter argument of "if you had complied, this would have not happened is an attempt to shift blame because he also could hace complied and it would have been even faster. He wasn't compelled or forced to keep the traffi stop going.
It was worse than that. He wasn't fighting with the driver so much as fighting with the paramedic who was providing medical care to the patient. Look up d bag in the dictionary and Trooper Daniel's face will probably be there.

Edit: Well done to the second officer
it's sad we have to praise the cops that actually do their job but this is the world in which we live
As usual no crime was being committed until the cop showed up.
All this stems from Ego, not Justice. Rather than seek to find justice, the trooper had a Myopic goal of punishing the driver for not yielding to his emergency lights while showing a reckless disregard for the needs or life of the patient. Once the stop was questioned, his myopic focus turned its rage upon the EMT who dared to question his actions, again with disregard for the life of the patient.
This man has no control over his emotions and is a typical representation of the weak emotional control of far too many cops.
He was likely jacked up on adrenaline from responding to another call Code 3 (lights and sirens) which was exacerbated by a mere ambulance driver not yielding to his lights. The fact that his rage was sustained long enough to get to the scene, assess that he was not needed, and then turn around to pursue the ambulance and pull it over shows his emotional instability. His inability to calm down could have contributed to his eventual death by cardiac arrest.
most importantly, racism
I completely agree
ALWAYS treat an ambulance as if it was carrying you or your family member, because one day, it might.
Yeah. They should have had lights on tho. I understand why the siren might complicate a heart attack, but the lights? That’s silly.

Reminds me of the video where a cop tried to arrest a fireman because he refused to move a firetruck being used to secure an accident scene by blocking traffic (and preventing additional accidents). Further proof these cops think they are gods and their every command is law and must be obeyed.

You’re dealing with misconduct within flaw enforcement, so you really need to be more specific.
Don't know about Oklahoma, but where I live, in a situation of a medical emergency, the person with the highest level of emergency medical training has control of the scene. Police egos are killing people all over the USA. Something has to be done.

It seems to me like this could have been sorted out after the patient has been dropped off at the Hospital. The Cop could have followed them and let them get the patient unloaded then figured this out. This Cop is an AHole and should be held accountable for any further injury to the patient.
Weird, it's almost like one of the first things the paramedics said
TWO POINTS (1st story)...
A. This appears to be First Amendment Retaliation for the ambulance driver's 'hand gesture'
B. Doesn't Oklahoma have a law against "interfering with a medical professional"
When it's a medical scene...Medics and EMT'S Authority supercedes everyone's.....UNLESS the scene is unsafe and needs to be secured. Then, we need PD to secure the scene so that we may execute our duties.
Correct.
Depending on the circumstances, you might want a firefighting crew in there first. But all emergency responders should be working together to produce the best possible outcome. The trooper in the first video most definately wasn't doing that.
That trooper was blatantly high on ego and couldn't deal with his power being legally undermined. Disgusting.
