Hi Doctor, Recently I checked my insulin, my fasting insulin was 5 but post prandial insulin was around 40 which I checked after 2 hours of breakfast. I was overweight 94kg and recently I reduced my weight to 76 through workout and diet.
Is this test suggested as a part of routine checkup? If not why such a useful test which can predict our next ten years not a part of annual blood checkup.

Very informative video. But, the doctor made a slip of tonge. He says if the fasting insuline is 19, 20 23 etc. then the insulin resistance is reduced. At the same time he says if it is less than 10, it is ideal. These are two contradictory statements. From this video I understand that if the fasting insulin is above 18, iunsulin resistance is INCREASED and that is not good indication of health. I think it is a slip of tonge because of fast talking and the good doctor should correct/clarfy it in the next video for the benefit of readers.
High insulin resistance is pre-diabetic range , your H1Abc level falls in 5.7 to 6.4 range. Once you have full blown diabetes there is nothing called insulin resistance , your glands stopped to produce insulin and you have to inject insulin to lower blood sugar
