I loved stone butch blues. I've been meaning to read trans liberation beyond pink or blue for years. Ever since Ashton Daniel mentioned it in a video. But I just read a lot of heavy trans memoir type books so I really need palate cleanser first. Here's some of my all time favorite and just general queer book reqs; - Snapdragon by Kat Leyh: Cute graphic novel about a little girl and a woman who lives in the forest and might be a witch :0 Don't wanna get spoilery but the woman is a lesbian and there's also a trans character. - Hell followed with us by Andrew Joseph White: Gay trans boy who was raised in a cult that ended the world with a virus that turn people into "angels". He was also infected with a virus that is slowly turning him into a monster. He tries to escape the cult and lives with a group of queer teens at what used to be an LGBTQ+ Center. The book is very gory and there are some sex scenes. - I wish you all the best by Mason Deaver: I love this book so much. It's a contemporary fiction about a nonbinary teen in their last year of high school. Their coming out to their parents goes very badly and they have to go live with their older sister because they got kicked out by their parents. - My lesbian experience with loneliness by Kabi Nagata: a graphic novel and memoir about sexuality and mental health. It's mostly about how the author has sex for the first time at age 28 with an escort. It's a very vulnerable read. - Last night at the telegraph club by Malinda Lo: otherwise known as the best lesbian historical fiction of all time. A Chinese American girl goes to a lesbian bar with a classmate of hers and shit ensues.
I actually read Bored Gay Werewolf because of you (because im a transmasc werewolf fanatic and I cant stop myself) and to be honest? I kinda really liked it, it was a good background audiobook. It gave me some stuff to chew on, and I actually enjoyed the enby character. But I do agree that they could have been handled better, however, them and Abe’s dynamic had me banging my fist on the table. I love a quiet autistic gentleman and the confident outgoing queer dynamic, I will not lie to you. The main character is insufferable, but he’s supposed to be, and it was pretty engaging. But all of the characters aloof attitude towards literal MURDER, is really concerning 😬
