I understand your dislike of predator bows, but I think that you are using them in the wrong way. Predator bows are supposed to be used in stealth situations to pick off one person at a time, they are not supposed to be used to kill one person in a group from stealth, or in combat. I would strongly recommend trying them that way, and I believe that you will truly appreciate how powerful they are.
If you played like an assassin (sneaky) instead of just rushing in you'd like predator bows. Can't one shot enemies with any other bow, so clearing forts is way easier with them
This is incorrect. I have the legendary hunter bow with ranged multiplier and the one with on fire. They both can hit for the same or right around it damage. (Fire damage ofc for the other one). So yeah, but early on in general, definitely the only one.
Of course you're another one of them Ac players that think Assassinate means stealth, it means Killing an important figure, you dont have to do it a certain way, it simply means Killing an important figure.
Why is it that no one on RUclips can pronounce Phylake? You literally hear it pronounced correctly throughout the game but people go nah, Ima just butcher it instead. "FILL-ACK-EE"
Love that Smoke and Mirrors Predator Bow. It's by far my favourite bow in the game. Amazing for clearing out camps and fighting bosses. As far as melee goes I've been using Humbaba's Fang and Hepzefa's Sword. I'm seeking out the best spear in the game though.
Predator bow 'Smoke and mirrors ' and 'Lord of Bones' from the e-store are excellent . Predator bows fit Assassins Creed Origins well especially combining the skill to control the arrow It's a modern day sniper rifle i've killed countless targets using them .
I always use a Predator bow for invading camps. Always kill the people on top and then stealth kill on floor (mostly I go ham on floor BC it’s so much fun) lol.
I'm upset the very first one appeared to have a weapon with on fire but when I fought him it was sadly just health on kill. Garbage by comparison but eh. It's the Golden Wolf. Idr him having that weapon in my first acct playthrough not sure if they ever switch around. I remember getting it from a chest/quest on that one.
I fucking love spears in this game. They're so fun to use as long as you know how to use them and know the combos. They're great at taking less damage because of the reach.
In order to use a predator bow properly , you must activate an ability that can alter an arrow going after you shot one arrow by a predator bow. This ability costs two ability points. After activated this ability, you would be very happy to use a predator bow all the time
I'm about a week late but I simply want to clarify a slight misconception some people have regarding Health for Critical which is on the Headsplitter and a few other weapons. This perk means "When under 20% health all attacks are critical hits" You do not regain health as some people think.
Funny that you don't like the Predator bow, as it's the bow I use probably 50% of the time. During infiltration and stealth assassinations it's my bow of choice. Once I get discovered and all hell breaks loose, I swap it out for my light bow, which has rapid fire. A dual blade/heavy blade combo is the best way to go about melee. If you have the perk that gives you a full adrenaline bar at the beginning of a fight, plus the perk that lets you kill a second target after an assassination, you can jump into a crowd of dudes and have 3 dead in an instant. After you use Overpower, switch to dual blades to quickly build adrenaline and swap to use the HB's OP move. Rinse repeat. Combat is really fun overall, but gets too easy by late game even on hard. I would hope Ubi dips deeper into Souls' combat mechanics for their next AC.
phrozac Hunter bow beats predator easy in every thing but that 70 m range it beats it in fire speed when tracking different enemies and is just less clunky to use when moving and has way more ammo to work with and is way more satisfying to actually pull the bow way more realistic.
Johnny Boii - The idea is that you won’t be using the Pred bow while moving. It’s a long range bow. In combat, the Light Bow is king. The Hunter Bow is a generalist Bow. It doesn’t really excel in any area.
Predator bow is great until enemies get way too close. Definitely recommend to change to a different bow the closer they get and have great melee weps for more action scenarios
When it comes to predator bows, if u use the control ability, you can only fire it about 60-70 m before it drops down, but if u dont wanna, its great for long rage sniper hits on guards not moving
I’m level 36, completed the main quest, star stone locations, all Tombs, and unlocked the whole map and senu points, and I still haven’t gotten a legendary bow!!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Deathstorm at level 20 from a random camp enemy. Also got Composite bow at level 9. Seen a few people get some of these weapons without defeating the Phylake bosses. So it’s definitely possible to get these without battling any phylakes.
The Predator bow is the shit but we only get 9 shot when quiver is at max. I like to pick off as many targets from distance as I can. Also don’t sleep on those Poison Darts because you can kill a lot of enemies without combat. I only go into combat if I have to or the enemies or lower then me and I don’t have a lot of time. The only things I have not figured out how to use very well is parry and smoke bombs
predator bow is the most used bow in my playthrough, i always sneak into bandit camps and stealth kill every enemy and use predator bows, second most used bow is hunter bow, thats pretty much it, i rarely use light bow or warrior bows
For anyone who hasn’t noticed or had it happen to them yet, it’s apparently possibly to get Phylake Legendaries from Reda’s quests. My first Reda quest gave me a Djoser’s Pride shield, for instance. I don’t think I’ve gotten any more Phylake items from Reda just yet, though, so I can’t quite guarantee it works for weapons as well… unless someone else has gotten one?
A quick FYI, the headsplitter isn't the only heavy blade that can do the hold light attack adrenaline fueled flurry of attacks. All heavy blades can do that.
The one I call the God sword, the one you get from fighting that giant God looking thing by the pyramids that like flashes when you swing it, is my fav one. Probly the best one in the game. Any of the instant charge ones with high damage like that are just completely Superior. I like that fire axe that you actually have to buy as well. I think it’s called the shark fin or somethin like that. It’s been like a year since I played Origins I can’t remember any of the names and titles. Also, that’s not what instant charge means. It just means there’s zero time to charge your heavy attack. When you hold the trigger down to charge it it instantly hits at full charge.
Sry but Sarissa is Perfect!:) The damage done to groups of enemies is incredible. But I understand your point, if u get a lot of damage its risky. However with the right strategy is great in my opinion. Keep making those vids, theyre great!
I really like predator bows, but they're really stealth only weapons. They're not meant to be used in fights, but to take down enemies unaware from very far away. And, those headshots are really satisfying.
I much prefer health on hit rather than health on kill. If I'm in a high stakes situation I'd rather have the health right then regardless of me finding whoever has the lowest health in the group. And the perk is absolutely useless against single enemies like War Elephants. I'd have to keep playing with it to figure out what the numerical trade off is. And the ceremonial staff trivialized most of the boss fights in the game after I got it off a Phylake. The burn procs not only gave me extra DPS but also made the enemies do the little burn dance. And the thing has a combo multiplier so I would just wail on him as my damage got exponentially larger, throw on the overpower trigger and it was goodnight moon for nearly any enemy after the first burn.
If you use the control arrow in flight skill with the shadow and mirrors predator bow that thing is the perfect long distance moving Target weapon. You simply control the arrow and fly it into the enemies head.
If you like health on hit weapons then get the flickering daggers in store. They are super fast and every time you hit someone you get health soo its a win win.
My fav weapons are; Bayek's dad's sword Mustapha'a Sword( cuz its based on an Afghan Khyber Knife) Hepzaha's Fire Sword Spear Of Serapis (I've been recently using this weapon and its gorgeous!)
You try to use the predator bow in combat which just isn't right, try it from vantage points which is its ideal use. Don't however buy the controllable arrow perk
lamakicker69 because bending arrows round corners is stupid in a world that's meant to be someehar real.. If they're not in your line if sight you cannot hit them and that's just it.
Streichholztyp yeah I don't understand the people complaining about realistic game play when talking about the predator and the controllable arrow. They don't like that but don't complain about a sword on fire,or fighting giant gods or snake. What about seeing through the eyes of a eagle? People need to shut up with that whole argument.
The smoke and mirrors slash predator bow can have an upgrade in the skills there will be one that says enhanced predator bow so you can control the arrow while in the air
Predator bow + you can control arrows + poison is deadly af. Don't underestimate it just because it got low arrows, you can easily replenished your arrows from looting the dead, and there are many arrows replenish place in fort, tower, camp and other place that you need to stealth. Too many people in one group? Kill one from far, and others suffer from poison
A tip to kill the phylakes if you are struggling is to kill them on horse back. I killed all of them on just horse back without fail they didn’t get me off or kill me even the 40s I was 38 when I killed the level 40 ones
I use Sarissa and really like It. I agree though that it is not for everyone. I like that it triples your damage. But the the trade off of a third health isn’t ideal
Subscibed!! Thank you for the tips n other videos I'm late to this game but picked it up and now I'm addicted. However I think I've had it a little easier than when it was just released. As I both it with the dlc and got lots of free goodies from ubisoft so I'm now maxed level but somehow still skill points if it goes how I want it to I might just have all skills (I hope). Been running through the curse of the pharaohs story first. Next I need this isu armour. Is there a NG+ for this game anyone??
Yeah I really don’t like predator bows either but they’re really useful for stealth not confrontation if your going to do confrontation I suggest using the hunter bow or warriors bow or rapid fire.
BEST MELEE WEAPON TO USE : Heavy Blades : Sobek's tooth or Labrys / Dual Shords : Blades of Thoth Or Storm Blades or (if Pharohs DLC) Venomus Grase / Sickle shords : VIpers Tooth or Ripper or Imitation Siwan Khopesh (not recommended for new players ) and last Regular Shords : Hercules Gladius or Golden Wolf or Vox Populi the other melee weapons are shit , Spear not recommended heavy blunt not recommended Septets not recommended.
If i wasnt using my Cobra Royale i would use the Deathstorm as you said its pretty nice, but Cobra Royale poison damage pretty deadly with the bleed on hit perk too. I seen more then once the bleed kill someone and the poison go to another person i was fighting lol.
Info on headsplitter is completely wrong - all heavy blade weapons have the combo with R1/RB as long as you have the skill unlocked - it's not unique to that weapon
So other than that, a correct piece of information that applies to that weapon, the info is completely wrong? Ah shit, we must have different definitions of “completely wrong”.
Can I just say, firstly my fave weapon is the Vox Populi sword.... and with the cursed perk on the Sarissa spear.... You only need to equip it to get the 200% damage buff (while health is capped at 33%). You don't need to use it. I'll bet most people would only use 1 weapon in a fight anyways.
I just got the headsplitter axe from an archer that I killed in a base called fort boubastos in haueris nome. I thought the only way you could get it was a phalanks, lucky me
I understand your dislike of predator bows, but I think that you are using them in the wrong way. Predator bows are supposed to be used in stealth situations to pick off one person at a time, they are not supposed to be used to kill one person in a group from stealth, or in combat. I would strongly recommend trying them that way, and I believe that you will truly appreciate how powerful they are.
Yeah exactly
Personally, I don't tend to use stealth so they aren't of much use to me. I much prefer the Hunter Bows, Warrior Bows & Light Bows :)
LongEaredFox I much prefer stealth, so the predator bows are really effective for me. That is the beauty of AC Origins' new rpg system.
I like stealth but the predator bow is too clunky to use so I stick with my hunter bow
controlling your arrow and shooting someone behind a corner is just amazing
If you played like an assassin (sneaky) instead of just rushing in you'd like predator bows. Can't one shot enemies with any other bow, so clearing forts is way easier with them
Yup
This is incorrect. I have the legendary hunter bow with ranged multiplier and the one with on fire. They both can hit for the same or right around it damage. (Fire damage ofc for the other one). So yeah, but early on in general, definitely the only one.

Why is it that no one on RUclips can pronounce Phylake? You literally hear it pronounced correctly throughout the game but people go nah, Ima just butcher it instead. "FILL-ACK-EE"
thank you
For real
Yeah I actually realised I pronounced it wrong after I already recorded and edited the video, I apologise :)
Lol no worries, you weren't the first to say it that way and continuously hearing it that way was starting to trigger me lmao
Garrett Friday sounds stupid? It's not English, I mean you're going to say whatever you want to say but that's not how it's pronounced.
My favorite bow is the predator. I guess to each his own. I killed most of the Phylakes with this bow.
At the very least my pred bow made for a nice introduction. I imagine bayek tying a note to the shaft: hello, here for the legendary gear, thanks.
You hate predator bows because you don’t use them properly
Aaron Zasler And he doesn't like stealth
It's uncomfortable at close range. I think it's meant as a sniper option, hence the zoom function. I use a predator and a hunter.
Predator bows are amazing! They aren't used in combat, but they are very useful to snipe people when clearing forts
Note, the "health for critical" perk doesn't give you health, it makes all your hits critical if you are below 25 percent health
Sarissa is perfect for me. I love high damage low health stuff. Plus I've used a spear since Siwa, so I know exactly how they work.

I always use a Predator bow for invading camps. Always kill the people on top and then stealth kill on floor (mostly I go ham on floor BC it’s so much fun) lol.
I’m sad I finished the whole game. I wish they had more side quest.
Fun Fact : When your fighting the Iron Ram Phylake boss at night his blades will be on fire
So thats why it was so hard
I'm upset the very first one appeared to have a weapon with on fire but when I fought him it was sadly just health on kill. Garbage by comparison but eh. It's the Golden Wolf. Idr him having that weapon in my first acct playthrough not sure if they ever switch around. I remember getting it from a chest/quest on that one.
I got Deathstorm from a papyrus and Storm Blades from Reda.
Both at lvl 18 without killing any phylakes
Some legendary weapons can be found solving the papyrus puzzles
Did not know this
Good thing there easy to find
@@scottperry30 got the dual blades from a puzzle
I got, storm blades, and that smoke predator bow from papyrus puzzle
For a rare sickle sword The Sword of Ptah is pretty good
I fucking love spears in this game. They're so fun to use as long as you know how to use them and know the combos. They're great at taking less damage because of the reach.
I got all legendary spear that I can name.
MultiRv90 “all the combos”, dude, there are no combos, just mash the buttons
@@yungchangsta yeah Assassins Creed has never been particularly good with combat
In order to use a predator bow properly , you must activate an ability that can alter an arrow going after you shot one arrow by a predator bow. This ability costs two ability points. After activated this ability, you would be very happy to use a predator bow all the time

phrozac heu i know this comment is old but wanted to let you know that there is an even harder difficulty setting coming called nightmare
Johnny Boii - The idea is that you won’t be using the Pred bow while moving. It’s a long range bow. In combat, the Light Bow is king. The Hunter Bow is a generalist Bow. It doesn’t really excel in any area.
Sterling Kmonster - Ha, I noticed. Though I’d prefer more challenging combat than tankier, hard hitting foes, this’ll do for now.
Johnny Boii rate of fire doesn't mean shit when you one tap everything and stay unseen
I love the fire bows. I use them all the time. I actually like the smoke and mirrors predator bow.
Jebel Baykal is the best predator bow I’ve found in this game, the range multiplier basically makes it a 1 hit headshot on any enemy
The new attack style im getting use too. I love how fighting is more complicated more of a challenge!
You should try combat in the first assassin's Creed game. It's not easy at all
I’m level 36, completed the main quest, star stone locations, all Tombs, and unlocked the whole map and senu points, and I still haven’t gotten a legendary bow!!
Or you have terrible luck or maybe it's a bug
Open some heka chest ....you'll find one if you are lucky
I’m fully there now bro, that was last year!!🤣🤣
Oh sweet picked up Deathstorm when lvl 11
I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Deathstorm at level 20 from a random camp enemy. Also got Composite bow at level 9. Seen a few people get some of these weapons without defeating the Phylake bosses. So it’s definitely possible to get these without battling any phylakes.
Yeah. I've been waiting to beat the bosses so the loot will be a higher level. But I also got the deathstorm from looting a camp or cave
The Predator bow is the shit but we only get 9 shot when quiver is at max. I like to pick off as many targets from distance as I can. I think you can het the on fire hunter bow in the open world, I have two of them and I haven't defeated the correct philakitie yet
The problem with predator bows is low number of arrows and slow operation. Hunter and Light bows are way better bows in the game.
BECAUSE ITS MEANT FOR STEALTH. you ain’t gonna use it during a 1v5 combat situation
I got golden wolf and the predator bow and death storm without fighting phlyakes
predator bow is the most used bow in my playthrough, i always sneak into bandit camps and stealth kill every enemy and use predator bows, second most used bow is hunter bow, thats pretty much it, i rarely use light bow or warrior bows
If you like Hunter Bows, try the ash bow.
Jordan McClure best bow
Jordan McClure i also use it
Johnzzz Hopzzz kills most fools with 1 headshot. On Hard
Damn
How do u get it and what level
For anyone who hasn’t noticed or had it happen to them yet, it’s apparently possibly to get Phylake Legendaries from Reda’s quests.

I've been using the instant charge weapon and it had help me a lot fighting high level enemies.
A quick FYI, the headsplitter isn't the only heavy blade that can do the hold light attack adrenaline fueled flurry of attacks. All heavy blades can do that.
I feel like the bows in AC: origins are really underrated, way more op than any of the melee weapons and by far.
The one I call the God sword, the one you get from fighting that giant God looking thing by the pyramids that like flashes when you swing it, is my fav one. Probly the best one in the game. Keep making those vids, theyre great!
they actually say the name in the game in many places. It's pronounced "phi-LAA-keys"
I've always wondered who Garrett is, and why he's always making such fine decisions
Wait are the weapons phylake exclusive as I got sarrisa from a papyrus chest
I really like predator bows, but they're really stealth only weapons. They're not meant to be used in fights, but to take down enemies unaware from very far away.
And, those headshots are really satisfying.
if you unlock skill for predator bows, you can use it to guide the arrows to the heads as well. no need to worry about missed shots
And the thing has a combo multiplier so I would just wail on him as my damage got exponentially larger, throw on the overpower trigger and it was goodnight moon for nearly any enemy after the first burn.
How do you have Bayek's original hair at level 40?
I got the golden mace from the nomads bazzar mission
the one gripe I have with the death storm bow is that it doesn't unequip itself. its glitched. it'll stay out forever once using it
soulreaper453 yeah I've noticed that it's my only problem with that weapon
If you use the control arrow in flight skill with the shadow and mirrors predator bow that thing is the perfect long distance moving Target weapon. You simply control the arrow and fly it into the enemies head.
I use all level 40 , deathstorm, Wadjet, Conductor of souls,Hepzefa’s sword and Compendium shield.
HighNoon I use hepzefa’s sword,stick of Bastet(scepter),composite light bow,smoke and mirrors,compendium shield
Great video George. Congrats on the anniversary, looking forward to your game review!
I got the Golden Wolf from a normal foot soldier. Idk if it was a glitch or Ubisoft just changed it but I was happy
If you like health on hit weapons then get the flickering daggers in store. They are super fast and every time you hit someone you get health soo its a win win.
I use the Predator bow to get a head shot for extra Xp and for distance. It’s not supposed to be use to kill multiple targets or even chasing someone
My fav weapons are;
Bayek's dad's sword
Mustapha'a Sword( cuz its based on an Afghan Khyber Knife)
Hepzaha's Fire Sword
Spear Of Serapis (I've been recently using this weapon and its gorgeous!)
You dont have to kill the level 22 phylakes boss to get the mace. You can also find it as i got it from a chest in the open world
Has this game really been out this long for this video to be released, damn.
hahahaha lol its been out since NOV 27!
Oct.*?
You try to use the predator bow in combat which just isn't right, try it from vantage points which is its ideal use. Don't however buy the controllable arrow perk
The_Jackal don't buy the controllable arrow perk? Uhhhh what? Why the hell would you not buy it?
lamakicker69 because bending arrows round corners is stupid in a world that's meant to be someehar real.. If they're not in your line if sight you cannot hit them and that's just it.
The_Jackal okay I understand what you mean about wanting to not break immersion, I thought you meant don't buy it because it's not good
The_Jackal also being able to climb up a fucking pyramid and being able to kill thousands of people is too
Streichholztyp yeah I don't understand the people complaining about realistic game play when talking about the predator and the controllable arrow.
Use the headsplitter war axe by a over-power rage, that's the most powerful one-hit combo you could get in each level you were
The copper mace with health on hit is one of my mains, that thing hits like a truck.
I use the Cobra Royal bow. Has both poison on hit and bleeding on hit.
My fav is Mustafa sword... Its the best.. 👍
Instant Charging doesn't charge overpower attack, it allow you to instantly charge heavy attacks
Fire is good on predator bows, they are stealth bow. Fire should be on warrior or hunter bow
I got the composite bow from a Bazaar Challenge lol
Predator bow + you can control arrows + poison is deadly af.
Don't underestimate it just because it got low arrows, you can easily replenished your arrows from looting the dead, and there are many arrows replenish place in fort, tower, camp and other place that you need to stealth.
Too many people in one group? Kill one from far, and others suffer from poison
Idk how/why, but I got the Deathstorm from a dual sword guy at the Depleted Quarry Hideout
A tip to kill the phylakes if you are struggling is to kill them on horse back. I killed all of them on just horse back without fail they didn’t get me off or kill me even the 40s I was 38 when I killed the level 40 ones
Preadator bows are ment for stealth long range plus you can control the arrows there not ment for quick shooting
Fox, I took a picture next to yours in Siwa showcasing the Anubis blade with my unicorn and legacy outfit. Have you defeated him yet?
I have defeated him :D
Gravewalker why can't you see it?
LongEaredFox Awesome Fox!!! High five ✋
I use Sarissa and really like It. I agree though that it is not for everyone. I like that it triples your damage. But the the trade off of a third health isn’t ideal
Predator bows are basically supposed to be snipers, best used stealthy than In combat situations
It’s 2021, and I’m still playing this game. This is my favorite AC game, and Valhalla is the biggest let down in the series. That’s my opinion.
Damn fox u have been growing very fast keep it on my friend!👍
Thanks buddy :)
Predator bows are good for stealthily clearing Roman forts
I definitely would use the fourth plague instead of the jackels gaze
Crimson death bow is what you neeed got it at lvl 15 used it ever since
you know you can control where the arrow goes with the predator bow right? you said the aiming is off, whenever it’s the best ranged weapon there is
I got composite bow level 7 at siwa for lucky treasure and same with dat shield
Yeah I really don’t like predator bows either but they’re really useful for stealth not confrontation if your going to do confrontation I suggest using the hunter bow or warriors bow or rapid fire.
Also. U should add compandonium and jackals gaze. The new Anubis sword is also the best sword so far
The predator with poison is awesome
Bruh the sarissa carried me through trial of the gods cause it keeps the enemys at bay and u can hit everyone at the same time
If you make the enemies sleep when you make them sleep you can assasinate them with the hidden blade
From what i understand :
Hunter bows = Assault rifle
Warrior bows = Shotgun
Predator bows = Sniper rifle
Light bows = SMG
you dont get health from the health for critical special weapon ability, it means all your attacks will crit when you are at 20% health or lower :D
Wit about the ultma?
BEST MELEE WEAPON TO USE : Heavy Blades : Sobek's tooth or Labrys / Dual Shords : Blades of Thoth Or Storm Blades or (if Pharohs DLC) Venomus Grase / Sickle shords : VIpers Tooth or Ripper or Imitation Siwan Khopesh (not recommended for new players ) and last Regular Shords : Hercules Gladius or Golden Wolf or Vox Populi the other melee weapons are shit , Spear not recommended heavy blunt not recommended Septets not recommended.
The Anubis sword is really good I’m using that along with the fire staff
The GMSloth Fire staff?
EPICSHOTZ 505 yep it's called the ceramonal staff it's on fire and is the best legendary in the game if you want to get it go to jorrapters cannel
Fox the predator bows are the best bows in the game IF you can master it.
I ended up getting the Deathstormbow from a puzzle it was actually my second legendary.
You can also get the death storm bow from that shop kids mission I got it on level 9
If i wasnt using my Cobra Royale i would use the Deathstorm as you said its pretty nice, but Cobra Royale poison damage pretty deadly with the bleed on hit perk too. I seen more then once the bleed kill someone and the poison go to another person i was fighting lol.
I use predator bow mostly for stealth stuff but normally i prefer to use light bow combination with warrior bow
Predator bows are the sniper rifles of the bows. Can’t use it close range.
I thought the only way you could get it was a phalanks, lucky me
Cti Wild Same, but from a commander
I completed AC ORIGINS and i gotta say the only time i used target lock was at the start when they make you kill that first guy in the tutorial
