- A tutorial on how to tie the end knot on the ura (inward facing when worn) side of the tsuka. I used the shoddy red ito because I figured it would be easier to see than all of the dark colors I had laying around.
Go to Tsukamaki.net for great information on tsukamaki! Thomas L. Buck has provided a great resource. ^_^
I'm so glad I watched this. I've been using the push tools all along, your pull tool is soooo much better.
Thanks for posting, this is one of the most comprehensible Videos on here about how to do this
Wonderful - this removes my initial puzzlement about the ura-side knot. Your needle & snare is a very good idea. Thank you.
Thank you. I did not use the needle with string tool, I decided I'm better off using a traditional Japanese bent paper clip.
Kevin, you are the man!!! Thank you for your high quality videos. Keep it up!!
Very educational as always, thanks for your time and effort.
Yes. Although different eras have used different materials, rayskin is often used in panels or as a fullwrap around the tsuka, with then silk braid for the ito. Cotton or even leather may be used as material for the ito, it all depends on what you are trying to make.
awsome video!!! thank you.
