Magdalena That was EXACTLY my response. Those who facilitate and benefit from the imbalance of wealth, particularly politicians, say this without any thought. These same politicians refuse to provide basic amenities for the people, and also tilt and twist the economy to favour no one else but themselves, so many cannot afford the most basic necessities. In areas like this, there is no running water, or access to it is very, very limited. They cannot afford good soap or proper sanitizers. It’s very sad that those in charge are so far-removed from the realities of the ordinary citizen that they can be so thoughtless.
Away Bus So true so sad and so many put the blame on poor people. So many can not se this cruel reality even if infront of their own eyes. It will be worse just because of those who want more money and power for themselves. This world is a hell for the majority. I can conclude that we are under dictatorship world over.
@@Flower-ck2bs I agree completely. Unfortunately, many see that as a pessimistic perspective, but it's just the reality, looking through the timeline of our existence. Human beings have increasingly become so desensitized to the suffering of others that the world is just going to get even more cruel 😢. What breaks my heart is that truly, many of those in power are so blinded by their own greed and selfishness that the suffering of the majority around them is nothing. It doesn't move them that while they get to live in opulence, many sleep without even one meal a day. To them, it is normal because that is just the way of this world.
While police brutality is unacceptable sadly we are as a community at a place where impunity to legal authority & processes is ingrained from the highest in among us to the most destitute. Police are themselves victims The issue is therefore not as straight forward, black n white as it may otherwise be in the UK n US.
Never ABUSE people as one day, God “strikes” may happen to you or your family.. trust me! First, I am a Belgian (actually I am half from France and the other half from Belgium) and at the clinic where my sister works here in the US, and I have no idea if it is a coincidence or not, but most of those diagnosed with cancer or Alzheimer’s are either former guys like those ( many are former police or people in partition of power before) and many of whom used to use unjustified and excessive use of force during their career… or bullies like this or those ones! I am also not astonished to have heard a story of a white French girl (in A big city of France) whose boyfriend was brutalized by French police. She managed to get work at a bistrot (I will not name the place for obvious reason) which has many French police clients and she spitted in their expressions or soups!! You may be a French cop with power but people are smarter than you and can add “champagne” in your coffee! But greater are the chances that no one will “champagne” you as things such as dementia, cancer or other diseases are much more likely to end up on you. In Western Africa (I won’t name the country for obvious reasons) where I spent 6 years, I have encountered an elderly man; back then he was around 86 or 87 years old; He told me that he used to work as an “informateur” for the French colonial police and admitted that he used tactics or methods that would be considered as “abuse” nowadays. He cannot tell the story to his family (as he would lose face). Those tactics would use intimidation’s, threats or even violence towards the suspect or his direct family and they include both physical and psychological elements which had long lasting and traumatic results. Thing is .. this man has lived a long life and has never been sick (some of you would say “well, good then”) but it looks like something up there is willing to keep him alive to witness one of his daughter dying off malaria as he was working as in informateur, another one had slipped on a stair (stairs made of clays that are common in some African countries) and still today, no one is sure whether this person really slipped or if some malintentionné people pushed her on purpose. Now, pretty much all of his grandchildren have difficulties in their lives: some are struggling in their marriage, one of them took his own life, another one is battling with cancer, some have huge financial distresses whereas others have heavily handicapped kids. Even though I grew up as a non believer (well, in Belgium we are not religious like North Americans or Italians), from what I have experienced there in europe (with abusers mainly) and with what I saw during my 6 years of stay in western African too, I sometimes feel that “payback” from above can and does happen! When you do wrong to people, you always get smacked and your badge or your power won’t Unfortunately be of any use! Last, for those of view who are victim of ABUSE or BULLYING, if it goes tooo far, you can call a lawyer and press charges! Now, my advice: choose a lawyer who is loud mouth and experienced so that you have greater chance to win or to “faire danser la salle du tribunal”; but before you file a case, look for another victim… may be the person who he abused or bullied you (does not have to apply for the above case but can be for exemple a violent man, or a abused boss, or a abusive neighbour etc…) has made other victims, so… it is best to search first if there are other victims and if so, you can communicate with that person and try to file the case together or in group… like this, the lawyer fee gets shared and cheaper and if you are 2,3,4 there will be also more crédibilité and it will give you more courage too. But I am just saying this because when I was in Europe, I have heard casese of victims (it happened in a church in Belgium where I grew up) where victims put themselves together and hired the attorney together as well: this gives them courage sand credibility! So if it works in Europe, it should work also anywhere, even in North America here! But in any cases, you could also contact the press (it depends) but always make noise! Trust me! I am partly from a country where people make noise (Well you guessed it, France!) from my mother’s side so sometimes being loud mouth and stubborn like us French (even though I am half Belgian) is helpful! WHY WE HAVE SO MUCH RACISM NOW? we tend always to focus on the “RACIAL” side of the story but I firmly believe that it has more to do with “frustration”. Yes, Bullying and abuse are nothing else than inner frustration coming from the abuser side. you abuse someone and calll him names because YOU ARE FRUSTRATED with your life or with wheee your life has brought you!! This is why people abuse others… they found in those abused a way to vent off their anger and their life frustrations … but yes, if we do the right thing and take actions - légal actions- then we have the power to punish those people or we may even wait that God himself smacks them so hard and then, you can breathe while God makes them pay back their abuse… to them, or their children or grandchildren one day….

It's so hard to hear that man 👨 with yellow T Shirt , he said I wish they took me off instead of taking one of my eye, hoping to him soon recovery.
I salute that nurse which is on front line, without proper personal protective equipment’s.
An incredible story. It really is unfortunate that our government considers curfew breakers worse than thieves and killers. So sad for the kid
its heinous when person humiliates another one just because he has power 😪😪
Countries make so much money and can't just for once spend money to build free housing for its people...
Botswana ain't that rich, the government ain't perfect but you'd never see a slum... yes proper housing is an issue but This is painful...
I understand where you're coming from but remember unlike Botswana Kenya doesn't have Diamond and other minerals resources. Also, our population is far much higher than that of Botswana.
But I agree, Kenyan government should do better.
It's heartbreaking to see such misery. I pray the good Lord's intervention, His mercy on Mathare. Justice for those killed by the police there.
I think Coronavirus' problem is not even in the top 100.
Why isn’t this international news ?! I haven’t even heard a word of this here in SA.
Kenya needs justice !
Because it's not something you can fix.
1 They NEED strict measures otherwise half the country is dead. So that's non-changeable.
2 But the people are raised as scumbags who only think about smoking, sitting around and doing their thing without caring for others, so they won't listen. This can not change except over generations.
3 Because of 1, not doing anything is impossible
4 So police are FORCED to use violence to keep the idiots in line and by doing so inevitable do wrong things. Since the previous two conditions, this can not be changed.
And the vicious circle goes round and round.
@@fredpuntdroad8701 You are so stupid to think this video represents the whole of Kenya. This is a slum and what do you expect in a slum? How can you even blame the people for the brutality? You are a piece of shit and focus on your country and leave Kenya to Kenya.
@@RealArtificial-x9s
Are you alright mate? You seem to be ranting at a random person who said something quite different from what I said.
@@fredpuntdroad8701 Read through your comment and you'll notice some malice. You can't just say half the country is dead plus other offensive and insensitive statements. The people are not in their current state because they love it.
To be honest, I have never seen such living conditions even though I live in Kenya.
Take a walk to the slums
@@hannahwamuyu1942 I have to coz this is serious...
I guess u are one of those rich people who live in wonderful estates and don't know how hard people live in those slams.. Just take a few moment to appreciate what u have and use it to help those in need even if its alittle
You must be kikuyu then, the kings of Kenya. You guys rule Kenya and the country is even named after yourselves.
You mirrored our fate as slum dwellers. living in fear of the police brutality and poor sanitation. Great work!
We Africans need to start our own protest (movement) on police brutality all over Africa! Its the same in Nigeria!! "Policing needs to be redefined all over the word! Enough is Enough!!
We can but im sure as soon as it starts people will start missing with no traces, inshort they'll be using bullets to silence us
Accountability is key
You can't expect justice from Kenya police and kenya government!
Except if you are a Kikuyu. They are the kings of Kenya
@@sareeyemanusqaame8723 Are you still blowing up toilets in al shabaabistan
this is one of the clear news i have ever had

Thank you for your work man!🙏
Elijah, this is a very great job you really did. I am very inspired by this work and I hope to meet you soon to synergize.
Some times i do not understand the audacity of some people. The president said wash your hands with soap and water when water is not provided to the comunity. What a shame. I feel it for these people.
SENDING PRAYS TO THE FAMILY n TOO AFRICA 😕😕😕 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🙌🙌
imagine fleeing war from Somalia then get your child killed in a country thats suppose to be safe in your own flat by the police. My heart aches for those parents and the ppl.
This is a sad story well-told.I am ashamed to be represented by those leaders in power right now.It seems the poor have no one to fight for them.
All I would ask of those delegates that visited the father was, "I could care less about the sympathy of the president, if you do not bring me a name to prosecute for the killing of my son within. 90 days,I've had my answer, that is there is no justice in kenya or anywhere in this world".
So called the president sent this goons so he can stay in power and wouldn’t loose through upraising and revolution. He sent them to protect his power
Incredible documentary, so well composed and very interesting.
RIP Yasin kwan pole ita mrudisha Yasin inailah wainailahi rajiun❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The policeman who put that mans eye out should be put to death and the corrupt government under which they operate should get the same.
praying for all my Kenyans
The only Kenya that’s important are Kikuyus if you are not kikuyu you must live with injustices and brutality. If you are not kikuyu in Kenya you are NO BODY.
May Allah comfort the parents of the boy.Its very sad.
This is injustice against rest of Kenya by the Kikuyus and it isn’t going away any time soon!
The ministers n president Themselves not following the rules : No Mask Even Announcing it compulsory :- Irony
& The Kid had a hard luck who the hell or wch authority or cop shoots a child man sick. The taxi driver feel sad for him too. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
How can poor people byu soap and where can they get clean water?
Yasin's mother's pain killed me. Oh man 🥲🥲🥲
Me as a Tanzanian watching this.... It's a relief
So Heartbreaking 😭😭😭😭😭
No government abuses its people. We the people need to rise against this useless govt!! Its pains a lot.
Am so lost of words. Am sad.
Congratulations Kanyi for the good work.God bless you and your family
While police brutality is unacceptable sadly we are as a community at a place where impunity to legal authority & processes is ingrained from the highest in among us to the most destitute. Police are themselves victims The issue is therefore not as straight forward, black n white as it may otherwise be in the UK n US.
great video bro
